Values in Search Help

When I try to search the possible values in the drop-down for a field in Infotype 001 (Pers Area), I get a message that says "No values exist". In all the other fields the drop-downs contain the list of possible entries.
It is only in this one field and only for one person. Other users do get the correct drop-down, and this person gets drop-downs on the other fields such as Pers Subarea, Cost Centre, etc. Nothing changed wrt his authorization or wrt to the list of Pers Areas. The same applies to other Infotypes and reports - just the field Pers Area returns the message of "No values exist" at the bottom of the screen
It is possible that a personal list was created in this search help, but now no values are returned and there is no way to get back to the original list.

I think you might have authorization issue, if you dont have authorization for for PA then this can be happen.
you can use T-code /NSU53 when you in the particular screen then system will give you what authorization object or level your missing. if you sent the screen shot to basis consultant they can find the issue
or else you can switch on trance for your user ID using T-code ST01 which will give you a log report saying what all authorization your missing while executing that search transacetion or actvities.
Ask help from basis consultant.

can I pass some values dynamically to search help input field.
If I select a profit centre value from a drop down in separate field it should reflect the corresponding values in
search help which is cost centre input field ( i/p fields is in a column of a UI element table).

Data dictionary based search helps can have multiple importing parameters within Web Dynpro. There are few rules that are documented in the online help however:
Be aware that import and export parameters for the search help are determined only within the same context node (see also Transport of Values for the Input Help), and even then only if a Dictionary structure is assigned to the node.

Selected value in search help cannot be returned

When I select value in search help, selected value is not returned to the field.
I did like this.
1. I enhanced BP using EEW.
2. I created a new view and display an enhanced field via BSP workbench.
(an enhanced field is assigned to a check table)
3. I created GET_V_XX method as follows.

You could resolve your issue by changing the value of the "ls_map-context_attr" to the attribute value seen on the F2 help on WebUI screen.
If you change the value   ls_map-context_attr to   'ZZBUT000000102' , then F4 help would work properly.
Hence the correct code would be:

Restricting the Value of Search help in MIRO based on vendor

Dear all,
I had a problem in resticting the values of search help for vendor in the Po reference tab. the Seach help is KRED . I had written a search help exit in it but i dont know how to restrict the vaues. I have to restict the Vendors Which starts with 1 series like 10000001,1000002 etc.
Can any one help me out where to write the code in search help exit like CALLCONTROL-STEP = 'SELONE' or 'SELECT' or 'DISP' and what logic i need to use.

Values from Search help not returned to UI

For a field on Web UI, i have to open a popup which would be configured from a search help created in transaction SE11. The search help uses a Searchhelp Exit. On the UI, I am getting the popup but the value i select is not reflecting on the UI. The moment i select the value, the popup closes. The 'Get_XXX' method of the attribute also does not triggered. Following is the code which i am using to call the search help in the GET_V_XXX method of the attribute.

Problem in assigning value from search help

Hi experts,
I have created an elementary search help for the custom field (Say for example YFIELD1) via SE11. Selection method's field name is YFIELD2 with same type as YFIELD1.
But when I press F4 on YFIELD1, I could see the values list but when i selected any value, it is not getting assigned to my field.
What my doubt is whether YFIELD1 and YFIELD2 should have same name?
Please help me to solve this issue.

Greetings.
there should not be any problem if your field names are different.
While creating elementry search help.... make sure that U check both import (IMP) and export (EXP) parameters and activate the search help once again.
If Ur EXP parameter is unchecked then U will be able to see the list of entries but it won't get into the field while creating entries in the main table.

2.'SERVICE_LINE'
3.Description of 'SERVICE_LINE' and hence by pressing 'F4' i should get a value in the field 'SERVICE_LINE' based on
   a condition.
However, if there is a value for ATTRIBUTE on the screen and when we press 'F4' on this then in the popup the value of
ATTRIBUTE which is there on the screen is appearing in the 'ATTRIBUTE' field and the same value is being copied to
'SERVICE_LINE' field in the popup.
Please guide me how do we populate the value to 'SERVICE_LINE' field inside the search help popup of 'ATTRIBUTE'.

Need selection screen values in Search help user exit in same report

Hi Experts,
I am using Logical Data Base PNP.
Created a custom search help to validate the records for IT000 based on the selection screen dates.
Enter the DATEs for Data Selection Period and Person selection period in the selection screen.
When I for search help for PERNR field in the same report, I need the selectin screen DATE values to be in user-exit of search help.
This will help me in validating the records for specific employees within the date range of given DATE in selectin period.
As of now it's picking the employees based on the DATE selection of selection screen,

SAP CRM Search Help - defaulting values in search help screen

Hi All,
I am working on search help object in service order(Amount allocation ) BTAMNTALL component view name vIEW:BTAMNTALL/HdrBillplanDet and field name STRUCT.AC_ASSIGNMENT. in that block if we select account assignment type as ERP cost center it will give standard search help in Select account assignment field.
Its basically calling the standard search help CRMT_AC_ASSIGN_KOSTL_E. After pressing F4 it will display the popup Controlling area cost center and description. Basically I need to default the Controlling area in F4 help based on some logic.I am not sure where to write code for this one.
Please find the attachment where I need to default the value. any help is appreciated.

At least can you read the document I provided carefully? the point 2.3.1.2 give you the answer.
Anyway if the document doesn't specify "defining a default value" but give you some ideas/hints, you only need to use a little your imagination. Like:
1- Use a custom search help with a constant (static)
2- Use a custom search help with a search exit to determine the data that you need from the sales org of course you need to add the orgunit as an input parameter for the search help and supress the input parameter which will be determined in the search help exit (dynamic)
3- Create a value node for the context (hidden) and put the info you need once you select the sales org in the hidden attribute/s, this hidden attributes should be mapped in the get_v method (dynamic, not sure if this will work, I never tried, but will be nice if you try and give us some feedback)

Pass a value to search help field

Hi all,
i have two fields on my screen.
I have a elementary search help for one the field.
I have fld1 and fld2 and i have search help for fld2.
The user puts the value in fld1 and when i do search help for field2 , i get 3 field for input in search help window.
In one of those fileds i have to fill with one value based on the input in fld1.
When ever i do F4 on fld2 , i have to one field filled with a value based on fld1 and if the user wants they should be able to change it.
Let me know how to achieve this

Import screen field value into search help assigned to a different field

I have created an elementary search help based on a custom DDIC table ZSH_SHHLDR. Dialog Type: Dialog depends on set of values, search help parameters:

where FOLIO and CERTN are fields in my table.
There are two fields in my program defined as like FOLIO and CERTN respectively. These fields are screen fields in a custom dynpro created using Screen Painter. The search help is assigned to the CERTN field. In the screen, I want that the contents of the FOLIO field should be imported into the search help, i.e. on the screen:
FOLIO: 21353
CERTN: <F4>
When I click on F4 help for CERTN, I want that the FOLIO parameter in the search help should contain the value for FOLIO that I entered in the text box on the screen. Is there a way to do this, through an exit for instance? Help is appreciated, thanks.

You need to use the below statement.
process on value-request.
field zcom_doa_users-zzjob_role module sub_tes_module.
Here I declared three fields in the screen fields from structure zcom_doa_users. Try to name the fields with table name-field name. So inside the module in structure zcom_doa_users you will get given value for the other fields also.
Now you can do your own processing for f4 help.

Set a parameter value using Search help exit

Hi All,
I want a search help such as If I enter a warehouse number on my screen then search help for storage bins should have that warehouse number populated in selection dialog.
I guess i have to write some code in search help exit if CALLCONTROL-STEP = 'PRESEL'.
But I am not able to set the warehouse value to parameter.
Does any one have done something like this?

I don#t know if that will be the best option for you, but you can make use of the abap program event at value request for your parameter_id.
What you need is to insert a similar code like the one below:
at selection-screen on value-request for p_param
select fielda fieldb from storage bin table into gi_warehouse_bin

delete adjacent duplicates from gi_zzdez comparing all fields.

Modify another field value in search help exit.

While creating the Sales Order, the user does an f4 on ship to party to determine the sold to party ( search help exit ), now I have the values of both the Ship to customer and Sold to customer in the search help exit, but I can update only the ship to field of the sales order, do you know how I can modify the sold to value on the screen.
I tried setting up the parameter id 'VAG' in the search help exit with the determined value, but this value is not getting copied in the Sold to party field once the search help is executed.
The other option which is left is export to memory and import to memory in another user exit of VA01. Is there any other alternative? Also which program do I need to do the import of memory so that sold to party is displayed on the initial before saving the document ?

You have to pass the program name and screen number..
In the internal table parameter DYNPFIELDS..
Pass the fieldname and fieldvalue...

Hiding Hit list popup and getting multiple values in Search help

Hi,
I have a special requirement where I am using a search help for filtering data. My requiremetn is the data which I am getting in Hit list popup, I want all that data in a internal table for further processing also I dont want that hit list popup. Is there any method or something which can be used in search help exit to hide the hit list popup dialog and returning all the records which is fetchec in the record_tab.

Hi,
I dont think you can make thru search help. Instead, I can advise you:
Instead of using a search help for multiple selection, have a button placed at the table control, so that once you press that, you get the desired values(just as in SH) in an ALV display. Then you can make multiple selection and call the table control again and pass the values to the internal table used for the table control, so that the table is filled with the desired values.
