VAMT tool queries

Please confirm and clarify on the below queries
-          Can we use the vamt tool without initiating a KMS host
-          If we push the key without the KMS host what would be the outcome and the remaining activation process
-          If we push through the KMS hot with Internet connection can we directly activate the product
-          If we have the KMS host but still if we don’t have internet in the end user PC what would be the outcome
Kindly explain the scenario of usage in VAMT tool
my requirement is to activate a Bulk quantity using the  vamt tool .

-          Can we use the vamt tool without initiating a KMS host
Yes. You can use VAMT without KMS, and, you can use KMS without VAMT.
-          If we push the key without the KMS host what would be the outcome and the remaining activation process
If you push a KMSclient pkey, and you don't have a KMShost, the KMSclients will not activate.
If you push a MAK pkey, you can leave the MAK client machines to activate over internet themselves, or you can use VAMT to trigger the MAK client machines to activate over internet, or, you can use VAMT Proxy-activation (useful if your MAK client machiens don't
have internet access)
-          If we push through the KMS hot with Internet connection can we directly activate the product
Yes, if the VAMT machine has internet access, you can use Proxy-activation (the VAMT machine collects the data from the MAK client machine and performs "proxy-activation" by pushing the data to MSFT internet activation service, retrieving the activation
data and then pushing to the MAK client. In this scenario, KMS is not used.
-          If we have the KMS host but still if we don’t have internet in the end user PC what would be the outcome
KMSclients do not activate via internet to MSFT, KMSclients only activate to your on-premises KMShost.

  • Are there any examples of queres or reports for the Access DB TS can generate?

I am currently useing the default TestStand SPC database storage routine to store the results of all runs. Are there any tools, queries, reports, etc. to help me post process this database? I thought I would check here before making something myself. Mainly looking for something that will do a scatter plot for a certian test so I can see where all the data is falling within the limits.

Currently NI does not have any post processing tools to assist you in formating the result information specifically for TestStand databases. Obviously using LabVIEW or LW/CVI or some other programming language you could write your own program to do such post processing.

  • Authorisation Groups and SQL Queries

I want to give some employees access to certain SQL queries in SAP1.
I've created a Category Name and have ticked the Authorisation Group 1. Within this Category I've saved my queries that I want users to access.
I've then gone to Authorisations, General Authorisations, Selected the Employee, then Reports, Query Generator, and then allowed full authorisation to Saved Queries Group No. 1 and Read Only rights to Query Manager.
When user goes to Tools Queries, and selects Category name and any SQL query therein, cannot open.
I've tried allowing them full authorisation to Query Manager but this gives users access to ALL queries.
    Any thoughts anyone?
    D

Where is your Query Manager Authorisation ? I could only find Query Generator.  If the same apply to you, then you don't need to assign any right to this category but only the selected group to full. Query Generator Authorisation will automatically become Various Authorisation.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • VAMT 3.0 won't find computers

I have a small network that is in a prison.  There are about 85 computers connected to 3 servers.  Server 1 is Primary08, Server 2 is School08, and Server 3 is Backup08.  Primary08 is a print and file server, School08 is a domain controller,
dhcp, dns, and Backup08 is my backup server for the other two and has the VAMT 3.0 on it.  I installed VAMT and SQL Server Express.  I open the vamt tool and connect to .\ADK server under MAK database.  It trys to discover computers but comes
back with can't because there is no access to the LADP server.  I have the same setup in my office.  3 server and 2 computers for testing.  In my office it will add a list of computers from the domain controller and connects fine and activated
2 of the computers with no problem.  Is there any reason why I would get that error about the LADP server?  Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
VAMT requires local administrator privileges on all managed computers to deposit Confirmation IDs (CIDs), get the client products'license status, and install product keys.
If you do not have administrator privileges, start VAMT with "elevated privileges by right-clicking the Volume Activation Management Tool shortcut and choosing Run as administrator. Running VAMT "as administrator" is different than running VAMT in the context
of a user account which is listed as a member of the "administrators" group on all of the managed machines.
With your special environment I guess there may not have the Internet accessing, but With online activation2, each system individually connects to and activates with Microsoft
activation servers. You can use online activation for MAK, KMS host, and retail activations. VAMT and the target systems must have internet access.

  • New customized report using PLD or QUERY PRINT LAYOUT to show customers onl

I am working with a Software Developing firm as an SAP Consultant.
Please tell me how to create a new     customized     report displaying various details as required by the client in the report using PLD or Query Print Layout.
    Please help me asap.

    Hi,
You can create queries using the Query Generator or the Query Wizard tools.
After you have created your own queries, you can link them to a required print layout.
    for user reports.Look at:
Tools --> Queries --> Query Print Layout
    Set there your query reports.
    Printing User-Defined Queries
After you had linked a user-defined query to a user report template, you can now print it
according to its linked print layout.
There are two ways for printing your user-defined queries.
    1. Using the Query Print Layout window:
    • Select from the upper menu Tools 􀃆 Queries 􀃆 Query Print Layout.
    • Click the Reports tab page.
    • Click to highlight the required query you would like to print.
    • Click on the printer icon or select from the upper menu File 􀃆 Print.
    • The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
    2. Using the Queries Manager window:
    • Click the Queries Manager icon on the upper tool bar.
    • Click to highlight the required query you would like to print.
    • Click on the printer icon or select from the upper menu File 􀃆 Print.
    • The user-defined query is printed according to its linked print layout.
Note! You can also print preview user-defined queries. Do so by selecting the Print
Preview option as described in the methods above for printing your query.
Btw, you could search the manual training files relate to query PLD in http://www.service.sap.com/smb

"Internal error occurred (-101) Message 131-183.
    The version it is 2005PL09.
The strangest thing it is that the reports had been working OK untill a few days ago. So it is really a strange thing...
Have you deal with this before?

  • Users changes the address of Business Partners

    Hi Everyone,
We are using SAP Business One 2007A. We have different locations set up for "ship to address" in business partners master data and all the ship to address have been saved as unique locations so that when a sales order or a work order is created, the location address is automatically populated on choosing the location of ship to address from the drop down menu
What many users are doing: When creating work orders, they input the business partner code, choose the location and then change the ship to address to whatever they want. This creates problems when converting the work orders to delivery. I want to restrict the capability of changing the ship to address while creating work orders and sales orders. How do I do it? Do I have to do it in business partner master data or in work orders or is it some kind of user authorization that I am missing.
    Please let me know.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I checked the links sent by you. It says Open SQL> Click on + of data base> Programability> Stored Procedures> SP Transaction notification and paste the code where you see" ADD YOUR CODE HERE" and click o execute or press F5.
In Business One 2007A, I do not see anything like SQL, +of database, programmability etc. I only see the following in Business one. Tools-->Queries and I see a lot of options for Queries named Query Manager, Query Generator, Query Wizard, Query Print Layout, User Queries, System Queries etc. Which one do I use?
Also, where do I get the SP code to execute?

  • Changing a Query do not show Results in the PLD Format

    Hello Experts!!
I have a PLD report,  and I changed the query a BIt
let say  the oiginal query is  select 'HELLO' from OINV where DocEntry between 100 and 110
but then I Changed to +select 'HELLO' + World' from OINV where DocEntry between 100 and 110+
But The PLD do not reload Data,  there is any way to change this?

    Gordon Thanks for your answer,
but maybe i didnt explain myself clear.
    let me explain a bit:
When you create a Query in the Query Manager,   you can create a Print Layout.
    then you can modify in
         Tools>Queries>Query Print Layout
but that Layout is related to the Query  you just did.
but when you change the query the Layout wont change ...
I think SAP  do not work well with this,  I think that Query Manager shoud have and Update button  and then  go and upate the query in PLD ...  well thats all

  • KMS server: Office2010 & Win7 react in different ways...

    Hi,
we have a virtual infrastructure using Win7 and Office 2010.
Before introducing Office2010, the KMS host was on a Win2008 server, then we decided to move it to a Win7 machine with the Office2010 extension installed. KMS functions were disabled from the Win2008 server.
What happens now is that Win7 OSs are regularly activated by KMS, while Office2010 installations are not... we have verified that the old KMS is no more publishing itself on DNS and that the correct DNS entry is present for the Win7 KMS host. Using nslookup
for further verification also gives the correct results.
Nevertheless, Office 2010 is unable to activate itself on the desktops. We are able to activate the Office2010 instances just using the VAMT tool, forcing the KMS activation for the selected desktops AND manually forcing the IP of the KMS server: when leaving
the tool search the KMS (using the DNS), it fails. Since (as stated before) nslookup gives the expected results (on the same machine where VAMT is installed and failing!), we really don't know what to do... everything seems to be ok, but actually it isn't:
    where?
    Thank you for your help

I was just looking through questions with no replies.  Do you still need assistance with this issue?

  • Query Print Layout Design

    Hi Friends,
I am designing PLD's B1. I like to know the usage of Query Print Layout and methods to use the same. Because in my PLD i like to extract values from inv3 table directly to Database field. Looking for your suggestions , urgent.
    Reg
    R.Vijai

    Vijaya,
Query Print Layout is mainly used as presentation layer for printing results of a query.
If you have already built the query. Then click on query manager. highlight your query and click Create Report.  This will open Create User Report window asking you to select Base Template.  Click on the Base Template and Click Ok.
To format the look and feel  go to  Tools--> Queries --> Query Print Layout --> Reports Tab. Double click on your Query template and start customizing.
To preview the Print layour with you data you may highlight the query (do not double click) under query manager and click on File -->Print Preview

  • Aprroval for Invoice have due date greater than 100 days

    Hi all!
I would like to create query to approve for Invoice have due date greater than 100 days.
SELECT 'true' from OINV  where max(datediff(day, OINV.docduedate, getdate()))>100 and OINV.docstatus ='O' and  cardcode = $[$4.0.0] group by cardcode
It's not working. Can you help me!
    Thanks!

    Hi Tien,
Hopefully not trying to teach you how to suck eggs here, but it looks like the query is doing too much. There shouldn't be a need to perform a "GROUP BY" in a query to dictate if an approval is to be triggered or not, only the criterai to make it happen.
For examle, the following code will send a transaction for approval if the customers code equals a specific reference.....
    SELECT 'TRUE' FROM ORDR T0 WHERE ${ORDR.CardCode} = 'ABC001'
If you're wanting a query to just return a boolean answer based on the date criteria, you might want to try adapting your query to something like.......
    SELECT 'true' from OINV where max(datediff(day, ${OINV.docduedate}, getdate()))>100 and ${OINV.docstatus} ='O' and  cardcode = ${$4.0.0}
(As an additional tip, in order to test a query that you're wanting to use as either a formatted search or approval type selection, when in the transaction, if you locate the relevant saved query under "Tools > Queries > User Queries" etc, where you have references to specific fields e.g. ${ORDR.CardCode}, this will pick up the values from the current record and give you a what if scenario. I tend to have just a "Temp" query I use for WIP type queries of this nature.)
Note - You need to replace the bracket's "{}" with square ones, I've used the others as the forum posts as a http reference.
    Hope this helps!
    Julian
