VANISHING POINT HELP - PHOTOSHOP / AFTER-EFFECTS
I've followed along with the Vanishing Point tutorials and can't get them to work, Ill create my image in Photoshop and apply the Vanishing Point filter, create 4 walls and a background, all blue grids, export the .vpe and load into AFX and I get distorted images that don't look like my scene, it appears that Photoshop is incorrectly slicing the images and so when loaded onto the geometry it doesn't look at all correct, HELP what am I doing wrong?

Greetings everyone. Another Adobe Installation disaster story.
I'm trying to install the aforementioned products (Flash, Photoshop, After Effects) on my computer, but I get about 20 "Internet Explorer Script Error"'s every time. [I don't even use Internet Explorer] I don't understand why the installation worked on a different computer I own but not this one. Both of them are running Windows XP Home.
I've already tried removing all Adobe Products, using msicuu2.exe, CS4CleanupScript from Adobe, etc...

CS6 workflow (Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro)
Hello, I'm new to CS and have been learning quite a few different programs over the past few months regarding post-production. I've primarily been using Photoshop, After Effects, and Premier Pro. I have noticed there are tons of different ways to work within and across these programs through the CS package. Because there are so many ways to accomplish an end result, I was unsure what is the right way to edit or manipulate video footage. For instance, if I plan on using after effects to do color correction using color finesse, or matte painting and rotoscoping, what order should I open the files and change them? Should I start in premier and then use AE, or should I change in AE and then import into premiere? I noticed not all AE changes are accepted in Premiere. Same question goes with any changes to footage in photoshop as well. Any advice would be great or at least a direction to look to get resources to help with my workflow. Thank you.

installed cs6 master collection wont install all the components for photoshop , after effects or FB yet everything else is fine

You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC. You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

Will upgrading to OS X Maverics require me to reinstall any third party softwar i.e photoshop, after effects etc.
Wait for testing.
Do your own testing. Clone your system first.
Do a clean install of 10.9 on another drive and then use that with Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant if you want.
I would not update over the old system - at least not w/o a safety backup net to catch you.
There are always a couple things that need fixing. And it may be that they won't know until they have the final bits and do their own inhouse testing now that they have the actual release version. -
Please Help! Photoshop & After Effects launch and fail.
Both Photoshop and After Effects seem to stop working after I launch them. After Effects starts by telling me I don't have Quicktime and then starts to open a window only to remain blank and tell me it stopped working. Photoshop just doesn't even pop open a window.
Adobe Flash is the only one that seems to be working when I open it up.
I am running Windows 8. This all started when I installed the drivers for my new Bamboo Pen and Touch. I hope it isn't the problem since I bought it solely for Photoshop and Flash. I have creative cloud.

Then it says:

Photoshop CS3 vanishing point help
i'm having a bit of trouble with the vanishing point filter. this is the first time i've ever really used it to any extent so i must be overlooking something trivial or maybe it's just a program error...
anyway, whats happening is i'm trying to apply art to a box using the vanishing point filter, there is no problem with creating or editing the planes but as soon as i paste the artwork from the clipboard and try to position it to the front of the box it only wraps around two of the planes correctly and the third plane is cut off in an odd location and doesn't match up with the rest of the "box" i can't figure this out and i'm rather unsure what i should do about it seeing as how i've been unable tgo find support for this problem. any help is greatly appriciated. thanks.
-GregI think it's how it calcualtes the plane area in relation to the original layer size vs. the "texture" resolution. What if you simply try to do this in multiple steps? I mean, some touchup is inevitable, so why not make it easy on you? The plane setup will remain active during a session, so it should be easy to make the required adjustments...

Hi, I'm using Photoshop CS2 and have a really annoying problem with the vanishing point filter.
I am using vanishing point to add different carpet tile patterns onto the floor of a room set image. To do this I am creating the pattern in a seperate document as a birds eye view (this is quite a large file). I then copy this, open vanishing point and paste.
The annoying thing is after opening photoshop this method will work for the first 2 maybe 3 patterns but on the fouth the vanishing point filter just wont open. If i try to copy just half the pattern it will open and as i go on it then wont even open with half the pattern copied so i have to copy a quater of the pattern until it gets to a point where i have to restart photoshop and 'hey presto' it will now copy the full pattern over into vanishing point!
After each pattern I complete i make sure to purge the history and clipboard and i have no other programs open at the same time.
So my question is why will it work for the first three but not anymore?!

Im trying to leran how to make 3d photos in after effects .
Unfortunatley i cant find any instructions that help me with my problems when i import my layered photoshop document and double click the composition layer i just get a huge black box in the middile of the screen.
i can view the layers individually but not as a whole to play with. is there a 2d to 3d book for dummies? ha ha
can any one help????If your imported file is not working the color space is probably not RGB. AE only works properly with RGB files.
I think you are looking for 'the kid stays in the picture' / or more accurately, camera mapping or camera projection techniques. This is where you separate the foreground background and middle ground elements of a photograph into separate layers, bring them into a 3D app like AE's 3D space, distribute them in 3D space, and then animate a camera move on the layers.
There's a plug-in from Video Copilot that kind of automates this process and that works very well for certain photographs. Photoshop's vanishing point tool can also be used, or you may do all of the work of separating layers by hand (my preferred method 95% of the time) and bring the PSD into AE as a comp, convert the layers to 3D, distribute them on the Z axis, add a camera and animate the camera. -
Need Help With After Effects. Please read.

So I'm using after effects cs6. The problem I have with it is that the final video after exporting stucks in between and never runs smoothly. I exported my almost 7 minutes video as a quicktime file that is (.mov). SO whenever I play the video in quicktime or any other player, it stucks, sometimes i pause it but it pauses after 10 seconds i click the pause button. sometimes the voice is ahead of sound and vice-versa. It doesnt stuck at the same point everytime. I need my video to run smoothly. Can someone please help.

Vanishing point crashes photoshop CS4
My Photoshop CS4 is constantly crashing when I use Vanishing Point. I saw a suggestion to send a full crash report but I have no clue how/where to access the crash report data. Can someone help me, please. I am working on an assignment and am so frustrated here.
PS..am running Windows 7 (which is new to me) and so, am even more confuzzled than normal.

KristineSeems to me there was another report like this around here recently. Might want to scan for it; I believe it was posted in the past few days.
Check to make sure all your system components - e.g., video drivers, Photoshop itself, Windows - are up to date.
Video drivers can be downloaded from the manufacturer's web site.
Photoshop CS4 is up to 11.0.2 - do Help - Updates...
Windows Update can be used to see whether your Windows system is up to date.
Beyond that, try this:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Right-click on Computer and choose Manage.
3. Expand Event Viewer by clicking the little > next to it.
4. Expand Windows Logs.
5. Click on Application.
6. Look in the list for Error entries corresponding to your Photoshop crash.
7. Click on the most recent Error entry.
8. Look in the pane below the General tab and note what the Faulting module is.
9. You may just want to copy the entire contents of that pane and post it here.

Need help with after effects render engine setup
I use AE CS6 on a mac computer running Mountain Lion. I also own a PC running Windows 7, and I am wanting to use it to assist with network rendering. How do I install the after effects render engine on a PC, when all that I own is the Mac version of the software?
Any help would be appreciatedDid you purchase a perpetual license for the software, or do you have a Creative Cloud Membership subscription?
If the former, you need to purchase an additional license to get the Windows version. If the latter, you can just download the Windows version as part of your subscription. -

I am completely NEW to after effects.
I have a project with 20 frames. I have two audio clips which have been editted to fit all the 20 frames.
Q1. When i add the audio clips to frame 1, frame 2, so on... the clips begins from the very start (0.00 seconds) for each frame. However, I want it to play from Frame 1 (0.00 secs) to Frame 20 (1min 45 secs) in one go. What should I do?
Q2. How can I preview the whole movie from frame 1 to frame 20 with the audio, in one go?
Q3. How do convert this project into a proper movie? what am I suppose to do!? !?!
I am really messed with all this!
