Vanishing point of light in the display of the iPhone 5
from the first moment I turned on the terminal I saw this defect diplay. Today a genius told me that this defect is perfectly normal. you what do you think?

Someone else has this happened?
How can I fix this?
Sounds like you have a dead pixel and yes the best way to resolve the issue is to press for a replacement phone. Make an appointment at your local Apple store to work with a Genius.
Good luck!

My iPhone 4S is frozen. I had it plugged into my PC all night trying to update to the new iOS 7. This morning my iPhone was frozen with a connection cord and above it an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo.

Vanishing Point Help!!
Hi, I'm using Photoshop CS2 and have a really annoying problem with the vanishing point filter.
I am using vanishing point to add different carpet tile patterns onto the floor of a room set image. To do this I am creating the pattern in a seperate document as a birds eye view (this is quite a large file). I then copy this, open vanishing point and paste.
The annoying thing is after opening photoshop this method will work for the first 2 maybe 3 patterns but on the fouth the vanishing point filter just wont open. If i try to copy just half the pattern it will open and as i go on it then wont even open with half the pattern copied so i have to copy a quater of the pattern until it gets to a point where i have to restart photoshop and 'hey presto' it will now copy the full pattern over into vanishing point!
After each pattern I complete i make sure to purge the history and clipboard and i have no other programs open at the same time.
So my question is why will it work for the first three but not anymore?!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi Jeremiah,
Please mention the exact version of Photoshop that was used to create the VPE and also the version of After Effects that you are using with the details of Operating system.

Vanishing point filter results in jaggy edges
I have a photo of a white bus, and I need to put a banner onto the side of the bus. The banner has a solid black rectangular background. After using the Vanishing Point filter to make the banner look like it has the same perspective as the bus, the edges of the banner are jaggy. If I use the Free Transform tool to manually distort the banner into the right perspective, the edges of the banner are smooth.
Is there a way to smooth out or antialias the edges when using Vanishing Point? What resolution is your bus image and what's the res of the logo work? VP employs some filtering and a differnt way of resizing based on the res of the target image, which may well explain the problem. Have you tried to simply increase the document ppi to improve behavior? Or actually upscaled the bus image?

Why no flash or light with the camera?
Does anyone know why Apple seemingly refuses to put a flash/camera light on the iPhone? I would imagine that's a pretty easy add on and would really help with low light photography. The Night Camera app helps a little, but for the most part is a joke. Are they just spoon feeding us camera capabilities one year at a time and maybe we'll see it next go round? I'm holding out for the iLaser (a laser pointer app that emits a visible beam of light similar to a StarWars light saber)!
RodeoI also find it baffling that the indicators for num lock and caps lock can't be controlled independently.
Lenovo only allows you to either sown the indicator briefly or always on for both buttons.
However, most people always have caps lock off and num lock on and only want to see when caps lock is activated.
Lenovo's settings don't allow for having say, the num lock icon show briefly when activated AND the caps lock icon to always show when activated.
Having the LEDs in the keys would solve this issue and get rid of the annoying on-screen indicators. -
Is it me or is the iphone going too BUSINESS LIKE?
I am not liking what i see. The iphone is swaying towards being a business PDA Phone. I liked it when it was an ipod/phone. Business man like. All the new features of update 2.0 seem to be around business. Let me know your thoughts. Clark
Clark,
Now that we've had our fun you raise a serious point about how can the iPhone maintain a balance between the needs of business users and personal users. Note that there is no other phone that does this well; the Blackberry is an excellent business tool, but certainly isn't fun to use; a couple of basic games is it. The Treo with PalmOS had a lot of potential, with the ability to add from a library of over 20,000 3rd party apps, but Palm seems to have dropped the ball, from being the first smartphone and owning the market a few years ago to today, with only 9% of the smartphone market (behind Apple and RIM) and nothing innovative on the horizon. The Treo with WinMobile...well, the less said, the better. With all of them the browser is a joke; it isn't even a true browser, it's a portal into a proxy browser.
The iPhone has the potential, but isn't going to have 20,000 apps in June. I expect only a small number of useful apps. I currently carry both the iPhone and a Palm T|X, because the 60 or so Palm apps I had on my Treo are not available on the iPhone. And the only reason I am allowed to carry an iPhone for business use is because my IT department is very liberal (meaning the IT manager has an iPhone). For the iPhone to meet both my business needs and personal needs it has to do what my T|X does. That includes a full-featured calendar app like Pimlico Software's DateBook6, a contact manager like Phone Magic, a travel planner like WorldMate, a good outliner (Bonsai), a project planner (project@hand), An office app (Documents to Go) a database (HanDBase), some decent games, crossword puzzles, etc.
So to answer your initial question, I don't think it's going too business like, but it needs to keep a balance. The business functionality is essential to expand the market further and make the 10 million that Apple wants to sell this year. so it has to be there. -
Hi Everyone,
I've scoured the forums, as well as external sites, but not finding a solution.
Tried tech support, their ideas didn't pan out. Would greatly appreciate some guidance.
Every time I try to use VPE, the resulting mesh is fine (the dxf), but the PNGs
do not match the drawn planes at all.
For example, I'll use a file from wikimedia. (all images re-compressed for the forum)
I draw the right wall, make sure it is blue, then pull the floor.
Pull the floor and the left wall.
Pull the back ground (hard to see in the compressed image, but it is there).
Pull the ceiling.
The completed planes. Right wall was drawn, remaining were each
pulled out the of the previous plane. All blue. Entire image is covered.
Importing the VPE into After Effects CC. Note the wonky textures.
Here are the actual textures (original PNGs compressed into JPEG for posting).
This is the background piece, note how the section of the image doesn't align at
all with the plane I drew.
Hope this issue is clear to all. The mesh looks fine to me, just the PNGs are off.
I've successfully used the Vanishing Point filter extensively in previous versions of Photoshop.
I'm currently using Photoshop CC on OSX 10.8.4 running on a 15" PowerBook Retina.
I've tried the following to no avail:
differing JPEGs
drawing the floor first
drawing the first surface counter-clockwise and clockwise : )
ensured all planes are blue
disabled graphics acceleration under prefererences
completed uninstalled Photoshop and reinstalled with clean performance/preference settings (did not import any previous settings).removed the "Adobe Photoshop CC Settings" folder as well.
Tried exporting a DXF, again mesh looks great, textures are wrong.
Ideas are appreciated because right now, I'm stuck : )

After we eliminated Adobe settings, and the software, I started wondering what's outside that could be affecting VPE.
It's the resolution of the screen! I have a MBP Retina.
Using SetResX, I cranked the resolution of my screen from the default retina 1440 x 900 to the hardware's native res of 2880 x 1800.
THIS FIXED IT.
The resulting PNGs from the export perfectly match the planes (DXF Mesh).
So, I'm asserting that there may be a bug in the current release of PS CC where it is not compatible with the default retina resolution on the MacBook Pro. -
I was attempting to update iphone 4s today, laptop went flat during the last stages. The iphone now only displays USB cord, with an arrow pointing towards iTunes emblem. iTunes will not accept/read the iphone. HELP??
If you have the latest version of iTunes you should not have to download the ipsw file separately as jalp suggests. iTunes will download it automatically.
This error (9) most often means that your antivirus or firewall (or router) is blocking access to Apple's servers. In rare instances it can also mean that the phone was hacked (or "jailbroken") to unlock it. If this is the case you must do a DFU restore, not Recovery Mode, as follows:
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall. If you has Kaspersky you may actually have to uninstall it, as it can never be turned completely off.
Connect the USB cable to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub. DO NOT connect the other end to the phone
Disconnect all USB devices except for mouse, keyboard and iPhone cable.
Launch iTunes
On the phone hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time for EXACTLY 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button. The screen should be black. If it has an Apple logo this means you held both buttons too long. Release the HOME button and do it again.
While holding the HOME button connect the free end of the cable to the phone.
After a short while iTunes should recognize a phone in "recovery mode" (iTunes doesn't know the difference between DFU and Recovery modes, but the phone does)
Release the HOME button and don't touch the phone or the computer until the process completes or you get an error message. Ignore any displays on the phone.
If the error recurs the phone was probably messed up when it was hacked. This is not a hardware problem, or if it is, it isn't one you can fix.
You can try repeating these steps with a different computer and a different cable. If that fails also the phone is probably not repairable. -
Need help with the Vanishing Point filter in CS4...
While using the vanishing point filter, everytime I paste an image onto the grid and try to move it into place, photoshop blows up and shuts down. I have tried restarting photoshop, restarting my computer, copy/paste layers from file into a new file, deleting old file/starting new, & reset the preferences upon starting Photoshop - none of which solved the issue. Is anyone familiar with this error? Can you help? Thanks.

Can you please provide info over the list. Also, how you got to know these numbers .... if by computation or is it published.
Thanks. For numbers that can be represented, google IEEE 754.
For numbers that cannot be represented, please understand that since double is 64 bits, at most 2^64 distinct values can be represented, and also please understand that between any two values that can be represented, there are uncountably infinitely many that cannot.
For instance, between the numbers
0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000_1_00000000000000000000000000000_0_
and
0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000_1_00000000000000000000000000000_1_there are infinitely many numbers, and not only infinitely many, but "more infinitely many" than there are integers from 0 to infinity.

Don't see the button for vanishing point - what gives?
I just upgraded from Photoshop CS2 to Photoshop CS4, I also have a trial version of After Affects CS4 that I am using. I was trying to create a vanishing point in photoshop to send it to After Effects, and i know I'm supposed to use the little triangle button in the vanishing point screen but the weird thing is that I don't see this button. Do I have to do something to see it?
Hi Sharon. The only special bundle pricing for Lr and Ps is via the Creative Cloud Photography Plan. There is no special pricing for the non-CC version of Lightroom. You can purchase the non-CC version here: Products

There is a small white light in the retina display on my ipad 3. Is this a dead pixel/light leak and how do I fix it? (Located at the bottom left side between home button and left corner)
Maybe this will show up better in green.

There is a blue light on the screen of my mac book pro and the computer will not display anything! Does anyone have any advice/recommendations!?
For Safari you could try clearing its cache and history via Settings > Safari.
For Safari and your other apps you could close them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Png blurry/pixelated after i used the vanishing point filter and save as a VSP file?
Hi,
Why are my png blurry/pixelated after i used the vanishing point filter and save as a VSP file? And i'm using a high res picture. I'm using PS CC.
I got some screenshots.
This the result of the png
Thanx in advanceAs I posted before, I would use it more if it had some of the functionality I need. I need to be able to change the opacity of the image I'm pasting so I can see EXACTLY where my overlaid image will register with the bottom image. VP seems to require a ton of processing and I wonder if maybe the software is handing off some of this work to the graphics card for calculating. Maybe this would explain that apparently not many people have run into an error that gets embedded in the file. Although my G5 is Apple stock, not super-modified.

Transform within the Vanishing Point filter
Hi -
Last night I was trying to copy/paste one image into another, using the Vanishing Point filter. The object being pasted started out much larger than the area I marked out with the VP filter. After it pasted, I clicked the Transform tool (still in the VP filter dialog). I was able to rotate the pasted object, but could not find the handles to resize it. Finally, I managed to redo the original object so that it was small enough to paste into the VP selection, and hit Transform again. That time, the handles were there for me to enlarge it - no problem.
Why would the Transform tool in VP allow me to make my pasted object larger, but not smaller? Or was I just up too late last night? I did search well outside the bounds of the marked VP paste selection, looking for the handles, but couldn't find them. Using CS4 on XP.

See if the ScriptingListener plugin generates any code for it. If it doesn't,
you are probably out of luck.
