Vanishing signatures

I have three email accounts running on mail, two business ones and a personal .mac account.
I have a total of four signatures which I use, one for each business account and two associated with the .mac account. Every few weeks I find that the signatures for the two business accounts have been removed, not completely, they are still saved in the "All signatures".
I then have to quit the email I'm writing, change the preferences by dragging the signature to the associated account, and then open the draft email again before attaching the correct signature.
I must have done this about 15 or 20 time now. Very dull.
I use MobileMe, does that reset signatures without being asked to?

Just thought of something. If you Mac has the signatures On "all signature" it might be time to reset your MobileMe Mail sync data (after you quit Mail). Open System Preferences->MobileMe and then click the sync tab. In there select the "Advanced" button And reset the sync data back to mobileMe from your computer. Transfer the data from your computer back to MobileMe. This should transfer the signatures back to MobileMe. After you close everything restart Mail and see if it works. After re-sync the data it will automatically revert back to MobileMe back to the computer.
Hopefully this will fix you problem with signatures.

The vanishing .signature

I hate to ask y'all yet another question, but since I moved my Mini to a new location, she's behaving really strange.
In Mail.app, I have two "personalities". Let's call them "joe" and "andy".
Now, "joe" and "andy" each has a different .signature. So into Mail.app's preferences I go, and in the "signatures" tab (middle pane), I create two different .signatures. I then drag the .signature for "joe" into the left-hand pane over the account for "joe", and release it. When I click on that account, I see that it has worked, and that "joe" now has the correct .signature. In the drop-down list below the middle pane, I select "joe".
I do the same for "andy".
All seems to work perfectly: when I send an e-mail as "joe", his .signature appears at the bottom of the e-mail. The same for "andy". Sometimes, I receive an e-mail as "joe", but respond to it as "andy" (and vice versa). No problem: when writing the response, I change the account to "andy", and the .signature for that "personality" duly appears at the bottom of my response.
And then... it happens. For no reason (that I am able to ascertain), the .signature attributed to "andy" stops appearing. It's still present in the middle pane of the preferences window when I look at "all signatures", but it has gone from "andy" in the left-hand pane. And when I type an e-mail as "andy", the drop-down menu has "none" in it.
I've tried deleting both .signatures and recreating them from within Mail.app. I've even tried deleting them in ~/Library/Mail/Signatures and starting from scratch. No luck.
Anyone care to shed light as to why this is happening?

First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Then expand in the safe place, Import emlx to mbox, See if this helps...

Digital Signature is vanishing

Hello All,
Need some help from experts.
Our problem is:
When using Adobe 8, Applied digital signatures are vanishing when re-opening form. But this behavior is not happening when using adobe earlier versions.

but the code attached to adobe form was developed eralier versions of adobe javascript.
While reading Javascript for API reference version 8
there is a note for doc.resetForm() method, the note is
Note:If the form contains signature fields, signature rights are required to use the method in Adobe Reader.
we are using this method for signature fields.
Could you please tell what is "signature rights are required" when using this method. And if you have any example how to use this method that will be a great help.
I noticed for the same method in earlier versions this note was not there in adobe API document.

Email signature Image vanish, empty box display. Please help

I have added an image to my email signature. It was working fine and suddenly the image vanish with empty box. Tried several times, the empty box keep coming after I restart my IPAD. I was just did copy and paste the signature. Please help

I have the same issue on my iPad Air running iOS 7.0.4, furthermore the settings keep crushing and quiting to home screen when I attempt to change this empty box in signature options.

Why does my signature vanish when I flatten the image?

I'm about to go completely insane. It's 7:00am and I haven't gone to sleep because I need to send in a report that has my signature at the end, using the pen tool. But when I flatten the image, the signature vanishes.
I've done an hours worth of google searching and NOTHING, so I'm obviously really stupid to be the only one ever having this problem.
This is for CS5

Typically, the pen tool is used to draw paths, not pixels. You need to stroke the path with pixels. Then flatten.

Signature panel vanished

Hi
I was using Adobe Reader to put signatures on PDF documents using Windows 7 Professional on PC since last 1 month. However, since yesterday this feature is not availalble. The Reader says that signature panels are availalble, but i cannot see any options related to signature. Is this a "purchase" feature, as i have not purchased the reader.

The Tools/Sign/Comment Panels don't exist for a Portfolio - you have to open the individual file in a new window to see the normal user interface.

Why can't I get a simple logo to stay in my email signature? Why?

I'm usually pretty good with this stuff, but this is driving me nuts. I've tried to copy a JPEG, or a HTML picture, or coping it from my non apple email before I paste it into my signature and nothing works. Sure, it LOOKS like it's there, it may even work for an email or two but them, it starts disappearing. My letters and phone numbers all show up but the image/logo will magically vanish and show up as a blank box. Please, please there has to be an answer. I looked in the App Store and nothing has good reviews.

Have you found a solution to this? I'm working on the same thing and can't figure it out. I've looked at the iMore post but that doesn't refer to anything with an image / logo which is the problem that i'm facing. Like you said, the really odd thing about it is that it works for an email or two, but then goes to just boxes. The hyperlinks from the logos still work but the logo itself is gone??
I'm using an iPhone 5, as well as 4th gen iPad and same results (both have most updated IOS)

IPhoto 08 - Library Corrupt? Pictures start vanishing...

I have my iPhoto 08 library on a backup external drive that is connectd via FW800 to my G5 Tiger...my other machines are using Leopard now.
Recently something happened with my Macmini (Leopard OS) where iPhoto just froze stating it needed to rebuild thumbnail cache...After leaving it running for over 8 hours and seeing the progress bar was not moving I rebooted the Macmini and tried again...This didn't help and it did it again. I forced quit iPhoto and checked on my G5. iPhoto loaded fine so I rebooted all my machines and shut down my eternal drive.
When I rebooted and tested iPhoto on all machines it appeared to be working but with a new bonus feature...Photos are now vanishing when I scroll around or select different events. The photos are displayed for a quick second and then they are replaced by a grey/blank outline that has an "!" if you select them.
Have I lost all these photos now? I am afriad to launch iPhoto again for fear of more photos of my son vanishing.
I checked the iPhoto properties and the file size is still what it should be (around 32gb) I also see the originals and modified folders within the package contents do in fact have a lot of photos in them.
Any suggestions?

What happened when you rebooted the mini from the freeze was the database file for the library got damaged. Look inside the iPhoto LIbrary package and confirm that the Originals folder contains your image files. Unless you have a recent backup copy of the library or the library's database file, Library6.iPhoto, you'll have to start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from the old library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
In the future I suggest you try the tip at the end of my signature. You'll have to modify the Automator application to look for the library on the external HD. It's designed to look in the Pictures folder.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Signature keeps dissappearing.

Hello, all!
I am using iCloud on my 2009 era macbook, running Lion OS X 10.7.2
I am having trouble with my iCloud mail.
My signature block keeps dissappearing.
I go into preferences, highlight my account name (there is only one), write a signature, click the box saying "Add a signature"....
and after one or two emails, or once new email appears in my in box, or after restarting, the signature vanishes.
This is a recent developement.
Before updating to Lion, my signature block stayed in place until I chose to change it.
Any ideas?

Over 2500 photos vanished just from iPhoto - panic and tears HELP

Today I tried downloading 392 photos from a 4GB SanDisk to iPhoto using its own card reader (photos taken on a Lumix LX2). This is the first time I have tried doing this. The import was very very slow and in the end the process led to quitting, restarting, force quitting etc. Having failed to import I now find on restarting the PowerBook G4 that out of 3000 or so treasured photos only 551 are left. The rest have simply vanished from iPhoto. This is beyond tragic. Are they gone for good? How could this happen? I'll be grateful for any help, advice and tips. Many thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First, your image files are safe but the library has been damaged. Run the three fixes below in order as needed:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all options.
2 - rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos.
3 - start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:

Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open Photo window
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
In the future I suggest you upload to a folder on the desktop first to get the photos onto the HD. Then you can import from the folder into iPhoto. This will also give you the opportunity to name the folder so that the event that is created during import will have the name you give the folder. Also, if so desired you can batch, sequentially rename the files for better identification. I use R-Name to add the date taken plus a brief description like this: 2008-08-02-Dinner at Dereks-001.jpg. This will avoid problems later on if you try to export multiple photos to the same folder, particularly if your camera starts over renaming the files with 001.jpg each time.
The tip at the end of my signature below has a tip that could help make the recovery from the type of library damage you just encountered easier and quicker.

Mail 8.2 is not enabling me to choose a signature from "All Signatures", even though the signature is listed. Anyone have a solution for this?

This is just one of many problems I've encountered since "upgrading" to Yosemite... including the unexpected necessity to purchase a whole new MS Office for Mac Suite! Now, in Mail, my previously automatic signature has disappeared, and despite following all on-screen instructions (Mail > Preferences > Signatures), "Choose Signature" reads only "none" and will not let me select any of the signatures that are contained in the signature windows above. It is extremely frustrating to have to type signatures into every outgoing email.

ok, i've just run a specific test.
1 - Online, ensure that mail is sync'd
2 - Disable network connection, confirm that mail has moved to offline mode
3 - Delete 20 messages in a folder
4 - Conifm they have been deleted (whilst still offline)
5 - Re-enable network connection, leave machine alone for 5 minutes
6 - Confirm that messages haven't been deleted and are still in the folder untouched
7 - Whilst still online, try to delete one or more of the messages, they vanish for a moment, then re-appear
8 - ***
Can replicate this at will......surely this isn't just me?

I'll save it in signatures and it will work for some emails then it just vanishes leaving a big emoty square. WHY??

My Order have vanished!

My order seems to have vanished from your site for some strange reason, no email saying why either. I just want to know if my order is permanently gone or if it's just a glitch. Update:
I tried what the diagnostic told me to do, and repaired the installation. I was able to burn a CD in iTunes, but after I restarted, the drives have disappeared again! Here's the diagnostic info now:
