Variable screen doesnot appear when query is executed

Hi All,
We recently upgraded the BW 3.1 to 2004s(BI 7.0).
When i am executing the query, the selection screen is not popping up.
Instead the query is executing with default selection.
I am facing problem when there are any mandatory fields.

the variable is checked 'ready for input'
it is used in a formula
actually it is appearing for some users with BI_ALL auth,
but were trying for some test users the variable screen is not appearing.
even 'change variable value' to remove any personalization is not working from test user.
and for BI_ALL users at change variable screen if we remove personilization, the following error is comming

Selection screen is missing when query is executed

Hi Friends,
I am running a query and it gets executed without showing the selection screen. Here it is how I am running the query:
1. Go to Business Explorer (3.x)-->Analyser(3.x)
2. IT ask for SAP Log on
3. I choose system which is 7.0
then it runs without showing any selection screen.
If I run the same query in 3.x system it shows the selection screen and all.
Any idea about it???

We have the same architecture (3.x BEx Explorer and BI 7.0) and we have no such problems (we are at SP 15).
It could be due to the personalisation of variables (if all variables are personalized).
On the other hand it could be the SAP error, have you tried to search for the problem in OSS?

The iPad basically re-booted.
Eveytime it re-boot, take note of what app you are running. You need to find out what is causing the re-boot.

Analysis Authorization : Selection screen not appearing for query

Hi,
I am facing an issue with analysis authorization. I have created the new roles and assigned to the users. For one user when I am executing the query, the selection screen is not coming up and it shows error message to specify the variables. Whereas its running for all other users.
In S_RS_COMP I have selected Type of a reporting component as Query View, Query & Template structure. I also tried adding Variable in this field but that also did not help.
Please let me know if you have faced similar issue.

Hi,
Go to your query desinger opend your query and select your variable in that you have see first "Ready Input Query" Check box is selected or not. It's not selected you can select that check box.
Your problem will be sloved.

Variable screen not seen when running BEx Analyzer

Hi Gurus,
when i execute my query in BEx Analyzer for some reason i dont see my variable screen and it gives me a message saying variable values not entered. If i run the same report in RSRT i do get my variable screen. It was all find till yesterday and for some strange reason i dont get to see my variable screen.

What version are you on?
Did you try resetting personalized variables? You may have hit that by mistake, happens a lot here. Not sure that would be the case with no values entered however.

WAD Variable screen not displaying when using a customer exit variable

Hello,
I have a query which has 3 variables, one of which is of type customer exit and gets populated with a default value.
When I run this query on the web from within BEX it works fine, however when I run it within any BI7 web template the variable screen does not pop up. Of course if I remove or change the offending customer exit variable the variable screen pops up.
I have switched the display variable check-box to on, and it still doesn't work.
Is this a 'feature' of BI7?

Fixed it myself by tweaking the URL....
Added &VARIABLE_SCREEN=X to the end of the url and the variable screen now pops up. Its not an ideal solution but it works.
Anyone have any better ideas?

Bi7 Variable screen, need to show query description

i upgraded workbooks from bw 3.5 to BI 7
workbook contains 5 queries in 5 different worksheets
now when i refresh the query, the variable screen shows like this
dp_1 ztst_1
dp_2 ztst_2
dp_3 ztst_3
,,,,,,,,, etc.,
dp_1,2,3 are for dataprovider 1,2,3
ztst_1,2,3 are queries technical name.
i dont want this
for all users i want them to see QUERY DESCRIPTION next to dp_1,2,3
there is no way i can rename dp_1,2,3 if i upgrade a workbook

if you refresh the query again or change variable, then u notice the difference.
close the workbook or close the query this setting is change
now you reopen the query and workbook, same process to follow

Pop up message on the variable screen in portal when report is run

I have a requirement to pop up a message stating " Date should not be entered before 2010 "on the variable screen of the report if date is entered before 2010 by the user when the report is run.

Getting an error when query is executed

I have created a query in designer.
When i Execute the query i am getting an error like this:
"Warning your user master record is not sufficiently maintained for object 0VENDOR"
I have this Vendor in the dimentions but i did not use this in any Rows but still i am getting it.
what might be the cause.
And also people i am new to this forum, can any one tell me how to give the points for correct answers.

Hi,
Welcome to SDN.
Please check wheather you are using any navigaional attributes of 0VENDOR in the query. Try to load the master data of 0VENDOR, run the attribute change run and excute the query.
To assign points you can able to see some colours for every answer, depending upon the answer how it helps you can check the radio button

Black screen/logo appears when trying to sync to iTunes

when i connect my 4s to itunes after a few seconds the screen will go black and the apple logo appears, the phone will restart again after a few seconds, connect back to itunes and screen goes black again.
also when charging my phone in my car, after 30 minutes or so, the screen goes black and the logo appears again (i sync my itunes through bluetooth)..
never noticed this before, started the day after upgrading to ios7. i've done both hard and soft reset...no change. help!!!

White screen started appearing when in Logic? RAM issue?

Hi there,
Am a relatively knowledgable MBPro user. I've an old beauty from 2007 which has done me proud all these years. I recently upgraded the OS from the original Tiger ( ! ) to Snow Leopard and the last three months all has worked smoothly.
Yesterday and today however when I've been working in Logic (still Pro8 - yes, I know!) the MBP starts performning verrry slooowwwwly (beachballs) and the white screen obliterates the arrange window. I've restarted a couple of times but the problem's still there when I open Logic and start running it.
My ETreCheck details are below.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how I mitigate this issue?

I cannot say with certainty. I would make certain that your data is backed up, erase the HDD, install the OSX and then upgrade it to 10.6.8. Then install the user data. Any problems that may have been resident should be gone.
RAM upgrade issue: I researched via the Apple site if my particualr MBPro could have extra memory installed. After much online reserach, it was inconclusive - so I called Apple up and a techie told me that my model was one of the last that couldn't have RAM added. Are you sure he was incorrect? Obviously adding 1GB would indeed make a huge difference.
Do be suspicious and challenge advice you receive on these and any other forums. Mistakes can be made and I have to admit I have done so, but not too often. I have witnessed bad advice but I have never thought it was offered deliberately.
Regarding RAM, you have been misinformed. Your MBP will accept 3 GB RAM. Look at these two links, one for OWC and the other Crucial:

SAP screen doesnot appear

I have created an Iview and mapped it to the SAP system in UME settings , now when i am trying to preview that iview , it shows "waiting for response " and gets stuck to this point .
Please let me know what is the problem and course of action to get the sap screen.

New dialog doesnot appearing, when i try to create new project.
