Variable Selection For User in Web Interface for BPS

Hi All,
I've created a manual Input sheet in BPS0 to upload target sales. User need to select the month, plant and then enter the target amount for each category. Its working fine.
Now I need to create web interface for user to upload the data every month. Using BPS_WB I've created the interface (with help of Wizard). I'm getting the input sheet. But I'm not able to get screen where user can select the parameters?
How to get this? It should work like web report, where user select the report variables then execute. Only difference here is user will have to enter the data for selected variable.

Hi....add the variables to a folder along with the layout. Then create the web interface.

Webdav - user management - web interface - some questions

Hi,
after browsing several hours to find any answer to my questions regarding webdav and lion server unsuccessfully i decided to raise theses questions collected here in this forum.
1. Is there a web interface for the webdav folder coming along with lion server? If no, where can i get one
(similiar to e.g. idisk within mobile me)
2. how do i setup user for webdav. My users which i setup within the server app didn't work
3. is this (http://gigaom.com/apple/how-to-enable-webdav-on-your-mac-for-iwork-on-ipad/) the only way to setup user for webdav? how can i use the users which i setup for webdav?

You can set up a "share" (or point to an already created one) that enables Webdav for IOS devices in Server app. For example: we have 260 students that have their "home" directories listed at /Student_home. Go into Server app, select file sharing and choose the "share" that you want to enable webdav. Click the edit pencil and under Settings select Share with IOS devices (webdav). Then on your device use the URL http://your.server.com/webdav/short_user_name. If you have SSL turned on for web, you'll need https. Authenticate with the short name and password of user. This works with iPad, iPhone, Macs and Windows Desktops (windows you'll need to Map a network drive).
So Johnny Brown grabs his iPad with Pages, says get document from Webdav and is presented with the login: Enters https://myserver.com/webdav/johnnybrown for the server, johnnybrown for username and whatever for password.
You could also make a share for a group "dropbox" to share documents and such. Lots of possibilities.
I haven't messed around with the profile manager but I believe that PM will attempt to control this for each device registered to each user. If so, you'll have to enable sharing with trusted certificates in the PM. Since we're using this in an educational environment and don't have enough iPads, the students have to share which means that we can't assign one device per individual.

Web interface in BPS

Hi,
In your system go folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
You will find Hosts file there. Open that in notepad.
Make a new entry below all the text there as below
<BW server IP> <the part of the URL starting from the word after http:// till the word before :>.
For Eg.
155.125.30.245 grd.mysap.pg.com
Save the notepad file.
Now run the interfece.
Get back if problem persists.

How to set up web variable screen for filtering by attributes

Hi out there,
My problem deals with the query variable selection screen in the web. I would like to filter some variables by their attributes in the same way it is done in the navigation item, but in the selection screen I have only the characteristic values in the F4 help available. Is there a way to adjust or extend the selection screen so that I can also filter by attributes (without having to modify the corresponding ABAP Class)?
By the way this functionality exists for selection screen in BEx, so why doesn't it exist in the web?
I'd appreciate any idea.

The most direct way to do this is modifying the principal infoobject and make this attribute as NAVIGATIONAL.....this allows you to see this attribute as a characteristic in Query Designer and you could use it with a filter....

Enabling Key and text for the Variable Selection screen

I need to display key and text for a characteristic when selecting the drop down menu in the variable selection screen of a web report. In the Business Explorer tab within the info-object, I changed the General Settings to display Key and text, but when I open the drop down menu for this characteristic, it is still displaying the key only. Is there some other place where this change needs to happen?

Variables selection criteria in web

Hi all,
I creted a query (in query designer) and in the filter tab I choose: Display-value display: display as "key and text", then I execute the query in the web (user portal); I can choose the variables, for example a shop, but in the criteria selection don't appear the "key and text" of the shop, only appears the shop text.
Is there a option to include "key and text" in the variable selection crieria in the Web?

Hi,
First of all, I hope you know that the free selection tab is required only if you want to include/exclude specific document number, vendor, etc.
When you have given a range of vendors 1 - 10 and you want to exclude 8th vendor, then go to the Free Selection tab. Under field name, select Name and type the name of 8th vendor to exclude from this payment run. Do not forget to put the tick mark in exclude values. If you want to exclude more than one, after each name put a coma , to separate the names. This same operation can be done for documents as well. If you do not tick the exclude values, only that vendor/document will be paid through this payment run.

Web Interface Builder & Variable???

Can someone help me to resolve this two issues.
I try to create variables by using web interface builder.
1)The variable- company code-US100, CA100 are only ones I use in the selection of my planning leveL. However, it shows all possible entries for the variable-company code when I added the variable-company code in the web interface builder.
2)Another variable-forecast year, I created it in the planning area (using 'fiscl year') and try to add this variable in the web interface builder and got an error message-the selection to 0fisclyear is not 'restricted'.
Advices are appreciated.

Authorizations for BPS planning interface with global planning sequence

Hi Experts,
I am creating authorizations for BPS project. I have a web interface with BPS layout (excel) and after users enter data there is a global planning sequence to be triggered. However there is some authorization missing in my concept as I receive "no authorization to display data" message.
I have found authorization objects for BPS and put full access everywhere but it is still happening:
R_AREA
R_PLEVEL
R_PACKAGE
R_METHOD
R_PARAM
R_BUNDLE
R_PROFILE
R_PM_NAME
On different web interface without global planning sequence everything is ok and data is saved. If I use SAP_ALL I am able to save data also with the sequence so obviously I am missing some authorization. RSSM su53 and st01 don't show anything.
If you know something please advise.

Trigger a process chain when user clicks on save button in web interface

Hi All,
This is a issue I'm facing with the BW BPS web interface.
BPS web interface generates a BSP application so thought posting this question in BSP forum might get some responses.
The issue is I have to trigger a process chain when the user clicks on the save button on the web interface.
I have no clue how BSP works. So if anybody has any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Saving Data in Web Interface

Hi Experts,
I have following problem, Please provide your inputs to solve this.
Background Info: We are using web interface ( web excel) for planning and we have fund center authorization variable and once user launches the interface and select fundcenter, the data appears and user goes on doing planning. We do have, running planning sequences on save functionality implimented and we are running global planning sequence having the functions which check automatically executed before saving of data.
Issue:When user is in fund center "A" and inputs in the layout some data and hits the save button and error is generated from the error function because of wrong data input and data is not saved into cube. It is fine to this point. Now user does not eixt the interface but navigates to other fund center i.e "B" and keys in data and hit the save button, no errors occur and data is saved. Here is the problem, at this point it is saving data of Both fundcenter A and B. We want to save only data of fundcenter B at this point. The error functions are running only on the fund center that user is selecting but I should be able to release the fund center A when user navigates away from it.
Any thought to solve my issue is appreciated with points and let me know if you need any additional details.

Marc >> I cannot run the planning function on all the fundcenters that user is authorized because more than one user is authorized for same fund center and locking is based on fundcenter. If I run the function for all the fund center that the user is authorized then he is going to create a lock on all fund centers and that results in locking issues. Please let me know if see any other solution to solve this issue.
In general, I will be ok even if user looses the data in buffer for fund center "A" when they navigate out of it when error occur but I should not be saving the data.

Variable selection in report

In my query variable selection , for calmonth/year the user should enter cal month /year value. If the user doesnot enter the value it should take current month and year for running the report .how to achieve this.

You need to create a customer exit variable .
Write a piece of code in CMOD for this exit with the help of ABAP person.
Case i_vnam
When 'variable'
Enter the code logic.
save and activate it.
use the variable in report.
Explain the logic to ABAP person he can help u.

ACS v5.3 (user command line interface)

Hello,
We have lost the user/pass of command line interface of our ACS, but we can access by Web Interface with all the privileges.
We are trying create one user from web interface for the command line interface, but I don´t find the manner of do it.
I create one user in <system Administration < Accounts with all roles, but this user doesn´t work in command line interface.
Is possible to create one user for command line interface from web interface?

Complete these steps to reset the CLI administrator account.
1. Insert the ACS 5.x Recovery DVD into the DVD drive of ACS.
 2. Reboot the ACS 5.x.
 The console displays:
 “Welcome to Cisco Secure ACS 5.1 Recovery - CSACS 1121”
 3. To boot from hard disk press
 Available boot options:
[1] Cisco Secure ACS 5.1 Installation (Keyboard/Monitor)
[2] Cisco Secure ACS 5.1 Installation (Serial Console)
[3] Reset Administrator Password (Keyboard/Monitor)
[4] Reset Administrator Password (Serial Console)
Boot from hard disk
Please enter boot option and press .
Boot:
4. To reset the administrator password, at the system prompt, enter 3 if you are using a keyboard and video
 Monitor, or enter 4 if you are using a serial console port.
5. The console displays the name of all the administrators configured on the ACS 5.x

Enter number of admin for password recovery:
6. Enter the number against the adminstrator username of which you want to reset the password. For the user

Web interface displays via Portal using Mozilla or Firefox

We have several web interfaces (BW-BPS) and have created iViews on our Portal (EPP 6.0). These iViews properly execute in IE 6.0.
However, when we execute the BPS iViews using Mozilla or Firefox we see significant display discrepancies. For example, the web interface should display grid lines between the rows, but, we don't see them when running through the Portal using Mozilla or Firefox.
We thought that the Web interfaces themselves may be the issue but they properly execute when run straight from BW in Mozilla 1.7.13.
Can anyone help with this problem? Thanks,

first of all please check the Product Availability Matrix. Not all browser versions are supported. http://service.sap.com/pam
Some visual differences between the browsers can not be avoided since browsers just behave differently.
If the browser is supported and it does not work correctly, please open a customer message.
