Edited by: venkat jsr on Jan 31, 2008 6:38 AM
Hi Gurus,
I followed your instructions but the error is as it is only.
Actually when I am converting Plnd order to Production Order in stock requirement list of Configurable material, its not converting.
the error i am getting is " You cannot make an assignment to make to order stock"
and also i am getting the following information - the component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because make to order production and engineer to order production cannot be executed with this order
a possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a sales order / project where an account assignment to a sales order / project is not allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type this is inconsistent
Procedure : Choose another Order type.
Please guide what i have to do for solving the problem.

Variant Configuration - product validation step at sales order
Hi all,
By using Variant Configuration, new products can be created at sales order entry ==> is there any way to put a validation process in place where a number of checks (by different people) should be performed before being able to save the order?
thanks
BartHi Vineet,
Thanks for your answer.
I realize dependencies can help control which characteristics value can be choosen. In the meantime my question became; how I can prevent that my sales order gets visible for the planning department (typically they would look in transaction MD04 I guess)? I will post this question under the appropriate topic.
This is the type of flow I have in mind:
customer service fills in the order, specifies the values for the characteristics, Availability check runs and the order is saved
order is saved but not confirmed so it is not transferred to planning
planning (or other department like production) checks the order and the variant. If it is ok, they will confirm the order so it gets to the planning. If not, they will get in contact with customer service.
I'm not experienced in availability check, planning, etc so I might have written big mistakes here.

Variant Configuration and pricing in a Sales Order
Hi,
I have been successful in updating variant configuration for a sales order using the function modules 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2' to create the sales order and 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE' to add the variant configuration characteristics on a configurable material.
The issue I am having is that if I don't add the configuration values for pricing the pricing will not automatically update.
I have tried using function module 'CE_C_PROCESSING' to update the pricing after calling BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE without success.
Is there anyway to get the pricing to automatically update without adding the variant configuration values related to pricing?
Any help would be appreciated.
DerickHi Derick,
We are trying to create a sales order with a configurable item using 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2' and the issue that we are facing is we are getting the sales order but the configuration values are not getting populated.
Could you please guide us on how to pass the configuration data to the BAPI to create a sales order with configuration values?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks...

Variant Configuration / Need for a separate forum
Dear Moderators,
I have been contributing, accessing and extracting information from this forum for my projects and trainings. Recently we have added lot of new forums especially in SD, a separate forum for billing, sales etc.
On the same path, I feel that it will add immense value if a new forum for Variant Configuration is created. As this is an area which touches various modules, and various applications like configurable materials in SD, Release procedures in MM, etc, people can share all the information regarding variant configuration in a common forum like this.
May I please request you to consider this and take it forward if this makes some sense.
Any feedback on this is welcome, especially from people like Rajesh Banka, Laxmipathy etc who have been here for quite sometime in SDI'm going to respectfully disagree.
I saw something similar at elementsvillage.com when they created a "Mac-Specific" forum. People who had questions that really had nothing to do with their Mac, for example "Can't open RAW from D7000", still put the question in the Mac-Specific forum, because they were using a Mac. As a result, the community was fragmented in ways that had nothing to do with the question. People who might have benefited from this question but didn't have a Mac and so didn't look in the Mac-Specific forum, and didn't get the answer as quickly. People who asked questions in this forum that had nothing to do with Macs wound up relying on a smaller community of experts to help solve the problem. I know I certainly never read that forum, so I didn't provide answers, nor did I learn from the information in that forum. I consider that decision to create a "Mac-Specific" forum to be a failure. -
Variant Configuration, Procedure for BOM Quantity Calculation
Hi, everybody,
I need to solve this problem and can't have any idea if this is possilbe.
Imagine a company that manufactures for customer specific requirement "plastic rectangles" (Length A, Width B).
Finished Product has a ZFG variant class with class 300.
Class ZFG has two characteristics, LENGTH and WIDTH
BOM for the finished product has one item class "Plastic" which can be replaced with any Plastic assigned to this class. Base unit of measure of Plastics is KG. If any plastic code has its own specific weight per area how can I calculate how much weight (Kg) I need for specific sales order?
The formula is Lenght x Width x Specifi Weight per area of chosen Plastic.
The two first values area characteristics values in configuration, the third one is a value dependent of material (could be a characteristic in plastic class too if this helps.....)
Do you know a way to achieve this? Is it possible to do it using a procedure?.
Thanks and best regards,
Sebastián Ligueros1. Since youare using class item you will hvae one more characteristics called Plastic type in the Class
2. You can maintian one variant table, in which you can maintain Plastic Type and specific Gravity
3. Now using this you can try to infer the value and using a procedure you should be able to calculate the weight for the BOM item.
Kindly let me know for feedback

ECM - Variant Configuration - Disable for specific Object?
Once we use change number for a material and Configuration profile, the change number will be mandatory field. This also occurs for CU02 - Object Dependencies, CL02 - Classification, CU60 Variant Tables and CT04 Characteristics.
We know this is a crazy question to some that have strict controls, but we would like to remove the requirement for some materials & configuration that no longer require engineering change management. Has someone experience something similar or implemented a configuration change that would fulfill our requirements?
Reading through the process documents, I believe it is not possible. But I thought I would check with the global experts on this matter.
Best Regards and Thank you for your feedback,
EdHi,
I would suggest you better go with the authorization control for the same. Beacuse by that way you will be alble to meet your requirement up to some extend but by this way as you are asking, there is crezy in true mean as you wrightly said.

Configuration workaround for fancontrol when hwmon order changes
I run Arch Linux on Asus P8Z77-V Pro Thunderbolt motherboard. I used nct677x-git module with lm_sensors and created configuration for fancontrol and everything worked until some of the next reboots. hwmon[0-3] order on my machine is not persistant, sometimes it was...
hwmon0 is acpitz
hwmon1 is asus
hwmon2/device is coretemp
hwmon3/device is nct6779
other times...
hwmon0/device is nct6779
hwmon1 is acpitz
hwmon2/device is coretemp
hwmon3 is asus
or...
hwmon0/device is nct6779
hwmon1 is acpitz
hwmon2 is asus
hwmon3/device is coretemp
Since I'm no expert it took me while to figure out that the best way is to reference devices directly instead of hwmon. Another thing is that in 2009 there was a patch that introduced DEVPATH and DEVNAME (they are expected to be hwmon's). It checks for symlinks and will exit if fails so the easiest workaround is to enter empty values in DEVPATH.
This is my working hwmon order independent setup.

I spent a lot of time searching but I just didn't find anything like that so my intention is to link to this sample config from wiki.Yes the characterstics were maintained for the main item.
and the delivered item was a subitem for this main item.
So characterstic were maintained for Item 10(Main item) but delivery was done for some of its sub item was item 100 / 120
Also can i know where is this setting or configuration where we configure this to block the configuration if any of the subitem is delivered.

Configuration setting for settement of rework order
hello
i am trying to do settlement on rework order .
the settlement rule is transfer 100% ful the cost on main oreder .
when i tryied to settle the cost by transaction code ko88 i am getting the error complete the allocation structure . while reading the standard help i came to know that i cant do settlement using primary cost elements as metioned in the error discription .
Cost element 41103005 cannot be assigned to a settlement cost assignment in allocation structure A1, and therefore it cannot be assigned to a settlement cost element.
plz help me to solve this problem .
what configuration i have to change .
thanks in advance
sachinHi Sachin,
In the allocation structure A1, there is no assignement for cost element 41103005.The problem occured because you have posted an entry with the above cost element to the production order as a debit. So when the settlement is run, thesystem looks for the cost element which is assigned in the source.
The following can be done:
1) Update the allocation stucture A1 with the above cost element as a source under the cist element group.
2) You can assign a different allocation structure to the sender:
In the master data maintenance for the sender, choose Settlement rule and from there Goto -> Settlement parameters" and then enter a different allocation structure.
If necessary, also check whether the correct allocation structure is entered in the settlement profile. The allocation structure is defaulted in the settlement profile when you create sender master data or when you maintain the settlement rule.

LSMW For Converting Open Sales Orders (not working for more than 1 item)
Hi,
I am using following standard object for Open sales orders .
Object 0090 Sales documents

Program Type D Direct Input
Its not working for more than 1 line item.
For more than 1 line item its giving Error saying that

Print parameter SAPML2 1 is not defined
Can anybody help me out in this regard.
Thanks in advance.
Nitin.hello, friend.
i will still research the subject. but the first thing that comes into my mind is t-code VA05. with this, you have the option to change the Plant en masse. so a possible workaround is for you to list a number of sales orders using VA05. you then sort the line items by Plant. choose all items with the same plant, change the plant via mass change... then change back to the original plant. hopefully, the new settings should apply.
do test a few sales orders by doing this for a larger scope.

Variant Configuration:Calculation For Masking tape in VA:21.
Dear Experts,
Our client is using sales order BOM for Quotation purpose, now they need following calculation, kindly suggest way to make it possible.
Below is the calculation of MASKING TAPE requirement,
3M means 7000232
1)
2) If 3M X 2 is u226410 system should capture 7000557
3) If 3M X 2 is >10 and u226420 system should capture 7000558
4) If 3M X 2 is >20 and u226430 system should capture 7000559
5) If 3M X 2 is >30 and u226440 system should capture 7000560
6) If 3M X 2 is >50 system should capture 7000235
7)
8) We require MASKING TAPE calculation, based on consolidated 3M Quantity.
9)
Example: For Line Item 10 - 3M Tape Qty is 5m
For Line Item 20 - 3M Tape Qty is 15m
For Line Item 30 - 3M Tape Qty is 18m
Total 3M Qty is 38Mtrs, MASKING TAPE required Qty is 38x2 = 76 Mts
Hence Material for Masking to be picked
1 No. 7000235 (50Mts)
1 No. 7000559 (30Mts)
Kind Regards From Samirsinh.Hi Amber,
Thanks for help, but our porblem is different, take a look following example for understanding of problem,
10 STEEL DOOR 1 EA
11 7000002 3 EA
12 7000190 2 EA
13 7000232 4.400 M
14 7001041 154 ML
20 STEEL DOOR 2 EA
21 7000002 6 EA
22 7000232 16.800 M
23 7001041 588 ML
30 STEEL DOOR 1 EA
31 7000002 3 EA 0
32 7000232 4.200
33 7000186 2
34 7001041 147
Here line items 13,22 and 32 are same, client requirement is that system should consolidate requirement first like 2x(4.416.84.2)=50.8 and then it should capture 7000235 of 50MTS for 50 and for0.8 it should capture 7000559 of 30MTS so losses would be minimize.

Creation of sales order with Variant configuration info
Hi friends,
I am creating sales order along with Variant configuration data. We have 3 level BOM structure.
I am using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 and filling in ORDER_CFGS_REF, ORDER_CFGS_INST, ORDER_CFGS_PART_OF ORDER_CFGS_VALUE, ORDER_CFGS_REFINST
tables exactly the same way BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST FM returns.
Sales order is being created with no variant configuration information.(Not in the header level atleast)
Can any one help me on this.
Thanks
SeshagiriUpdating Variant Configuration data for SO item became little tricky for us in an ongoing implementation. After spending some hours investigating the correct combination of data to pass, we were able to post the document correctly. As no detailed documentation is available online for this scenario, I hope this post will help community for similar requirements. J
For updating Variant configuration (VC) data for Sales order item, we need to populate below tables of standard FM or BAPI (e.g. SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE).
Normally the standard FM or BAPI does not return any error messages in case configuration data is not updated successfully.
· SALES_SCHEDULES_IN: The required date field should be populated with appropriate value (REQ_DATE).
· SALES_ITEMS_IN: Field PO_ITM_NO should be populated with appropriate value.
· SALES_CFGS_REF Table:
1. This table should have 1 record per item.
2. Combination of CONFIG_ID and ROOT_ID should be unique across line items.

Variant configuration u2013 availability check for Configurable material
Hi Guys,
We are doing the variant configuration scenario for one of our client. We are using planning strategy as 25 (sales order with variant configuration).
When we configure the Configurable material at sales order level, we wanted to check the availability check of Configurable for the combination of selected characteristics.
How we can configure it in the system.
Regards,
ShailendraHi,
availability check will work as per the checking group you had defined in system.
additionaly you need to put tick in configuration profile for availability check.
checking for material varient is optional, if your bussiness has materail varients you can activate type matching and while configuring the sales order if the values of charactersticks matches system will suggest you the the appropiate varient and you can replace your configurable material in sales order with it.
hope it will help you.
If you need some more information please explain what exactly your are expecting from system during availability check.
Regards
Ritesh

Hello,
our customer plans to use a Non-SAP solution for variant configuration (Camos) in SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) and in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP1 as well.
ERP sales orders (and ERP quotations) should be created in SAP CRM (CRM WebUI).
Is it possible to use variant configuration (with an external variant configuration tool) when creating ERP sales orders and quotations in the SAP CRM WebUI or do we have to implement SAP IPC for this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
AEVDear AEV,
I think LORD (lean orders) should work with variant configuration as well. In the note 1236015 there is not restriction listed. However you need lord2 activated in ECC, and ECC system should be on EHP4.
