Hi Guys...
Thanks for helping all the time when ever i am need of ,however  I am here with a problem again....
Description :
I have a Zreport that has been developed. Now i have 3 transactions for the Zreport , These 3 transactions serve for different purpose using the same Zreport.
now i am executing each transaction and saving the variants for them.
My problem is when ever i display the variants clicking on the variants button, all the variants that are been saved for 3 transactions are been displayed..
Is there any way that i can restrict the variants display with respect to the transaction entered.
please help me out in this issue...
Thanks and Regards

If you are using your own code to handle variant -
You can write some identifier like T1,T2 or T3 while saving your variant text
while retriving your variant you may use this variant text to filter the variant acconding to transaction called.
If you are using Standard variant handling i.e you have not explicitly written your own code for variant handling - i don't know how to hanlde this.

  • PS: Activity Allocation Screen Variant  Display Issue

I'm having a problem in SAP v5.0 when I create a screen variant for Trans KB21N (Activity Allocation).  The variant is available in the drop down list and works fine during the data entry session, however, when I press the 'Enter' key the system restores the screen variant back to the default variant. This is very disconcerting, am I missing something simple in the config?
    Thanks,

I'm answering this post myself because SAP support gave me OSS note 913227 and this corrected the problem.

  • MacBook Pro 5.1; varying display brightness

MacBook Pro 5.1; display brightness slowly increases then decreases in a cycle of about 2 minutes.  Not a big difference but noticeable.  Any hints?

Apparently the display is working, but its backlight isn't on. First make sure it isn't turned all the way down: press the F2 key to turn the brightness up. If it doesn't brighten up when you do that, something has been damaged and will need to be repaired. If wine was spilled on the screen and ran down into the plastic hinge housing and the base of the screen assembly, it may have shorted out the LEDs that provide the backlighting. Your machine is out of warranty, and if you had AppleCare, the spill has voided it. The Apple remedy will be to replace the entire screen assembly, and possibly also the top case and logic board, depending on how far inside the wine got. So you may want to look for an independent third-party repair service that can fix it with used parts, or you may want to do the repair work yourself with used parts and the well-illustrated take-apart instructions at iFixit. com:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Browse/Mac
iFixit sells used parts, too, and so do these other vendors:

  • Display Variants are not displaying in VFX3 transaction

I am not able to check the variants that are created in VFX3 transaction, when i click on tab "Display Variants".
But when i go to<Variants<Display i can see the variants that are created for the same transaction.
Are there any parameters i need to select to Display all the variants that are ctreated for VFX3 transaction ,when i Click on tab "DISPLAY VARIANTS".
    Please give Suggestions.
    Regards
    Srinivas Gutta.

    Hi,
The "Display Variants" button is for selecting ALV variants instead of report variants.
So if you execute VFX3 and create and ALV variant (via "Settings"-"Layout"-...Current,Save),
next time you can pre-select it on the VFX3 selection screen.

  • DVD Player has started playing PAL DVD's on external PAL display very badly

I have my Early 2006 iMac connected to an external HDTV (Mini-DVI->HDMI)
Using display options I can switch the external display easily between NTSC and PAL refresh rates.
It used to be that apple's DVD player could play a PAL dvd just fine on the display but now the frame rate drifts in and out of sync as though it no longer understands that the TV is set to 50hz.
Although I used to use DVD player all the time I haven't done so for quite some months so I don't know when this started happening although I have a feeling that it was with a recent OS X update.
I say this because a few months ago all of a sudden the same thing happened with Elgato's EyeTV, but they issued a patch sometime later and it fixed the v-sync issue for their app.
I'm also wondering if it may be a de-interlacing issue rather than a v-sync issue but I'm not sure, I've tried various DVD's.
I have tried deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.DVDPlayer but this hasn't helped.
If it's relevant, my iMac has an ATI Radeon X1600
Any ideas why DVD player has started having trouble with 50hz displays and how I might fix it?
Failing that, is there a good (hopefully free) dvd player alternative which is better at handing external displays of varying display modes?
p.s this was the most appropriate forum I could find.

I suggest that you create 15-second silent audio slug that you can use to move the audio the same amount you have moved the video.

  • No variant found when running payment program

    Dear all,
When I executed F110, ran proposal then ran payment but no payment medium was generated.
Of course I did not forget to make a check in pop up windows which say "Create payment medium."
Here is what display in proposal log:
No variants found for format HSBC_PP_V1.0
No Payment Media Created in Format 100
HSBC_PP_V1.0 is the format for DME.
    I already rechecked FBZP - Payment Method/Country:
This format was entered in Payment medium -> Use payment medium workbench -> Format field (V_T042ZL-FORMI field).
As I checked selections variants as below path:
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable -> Business Transactions -> Outgoing Payments -> Automatic Outgoing Payments -> Payment Media -> Make Settings for Payment Medium Formats from Payment Medium Workbench -> Create/Assign Selection Variants
Then select Payment Medium format HSBC_PP_V1.0 in the list (please notice that this list contains nothing like format 100), the screen on the right shows the bank country + bank key + bank name which we use for payment with selection variant HSBC_PP_V1.0.
Then I choose to HSBC_PP_V1.0 variant, display and it is the below image:
    http://lh3.ggpht.com/_9kUvjBH2L9A/TUjnqyMD53I/AAAA AAAABPw/Ib5vFCVPR8k/s576/variant.PNG
I would appreciate any of your advices.
    Thank you very much.
    Rgds,

    Hello,
The screen you sent is the variant itself. It does not seem to be the problem.
The problem seems to be that no variant is assigned for the company code, house bank and format in OBPM4.
CAn you please check the following data?
    - Go to OBPM4. Double click on format name. Check it there is any variant assigned.

  • Problem in transporting Variants - "You cant transport client-specific obj"

    Hi,
I am facing a problem while trying to transport variant from DEV to QAS.
When I tried to transport one of the variants (of a program) from DEV to QAS (quality system), it gave me an error that: "You cannot transport client-specific objects".
    Pleasehelp.
    Thanks,
    Vishal.

    Hi,
The program is Not a local object. I am trying to assign the variant to a transport via. SE38->variant->display->utilities->transport request-> request number.
Is there a way to modify this variant from client specific to "non-client-specific".
Also, please let me know hoe do we copy this variant into a new variant which is not client specific (i.e. a global variant).
    Thanks,
    Vishal.

    Hi,
I've checked the same here and its working fine here.
I doubt if you have save it properly. If saved properly, the next time when you go to this transaction, you need to select your variant and then only execute.
    Hope your problem gets solved.

  • Hide Variant button

    Hi experts!!
We have a report ZREPORT for which we have created 2 t-codes ZCODE1 and ZCODE2. Now, ZCODE1 should start with variant TEST and should not be changed by any means. And hence we are planning to hide variant button only for ZCODE1 t-code. But for ZCODE2 t-code variants can be changed.
Can somebody suggest how this can be handled?

  • Report Painter problem with empty selection variant

    Hello,
I use the cost center selection variant for the column definition in Report Painter as characteristic value. This selection variant get only the cost centers which are valid from 1.1.2003 to 31.12.2004. The column of the report created by Report Painter which uses this selection variant display value without taking into account limitations follow from this selection variant. I expect value zero for year fiscal year 2007 in this column, because the cost centers are invalid in 2007 year but the report displays different value. The problem appeared after upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
    Best Regards
    ZD

My problem with Report Painter occurred when I was creating my own report based on 1VK library.
In my example I used in the column definition characteristic Cost
Center, which is determined by selection variant, and Basic Key Figure
equal SWKG-Costs. For system date (18.07.2007) there are no valid
master data for the characteristic Cost Center but when I execute
report for fiscal year 2007 the column display no-zero value without
taking into account value of Characteristic Cost Center. I expected
zero value in this column because there are no postings for Cost
Centers (no valid cost centers were selected) in financial year 2007.
Could you help me with this problem ?

  • What is the use of variant in the alv report

    hello all,
what is the use of variant in the alv report

    Hi,
    For Variants
    follow the link:
    http://help.sap.com/search/highlightContent.jsp
Variants allow you to save sets of input values for programs that you often start with the same selections. You can use them for any programs except subroutine pools (type S).

Running a Program with a Variant
    Variants: Overview
    Use
Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, see Working with selection screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant.
You can create any number of variants for any program in which selection screens are defined. Variants are assigned exclusively to the program for which they were created.
You can also use variants to change the appearance of the selection screen by hiding selection criteria. This is particularly useful when you are working with large selection screens on which not all of the fields are relevant.
Reports, module pools, and function groups may have several selection screens. It is therefore possible to create a variant for more than one selection screen.
Variants are an interface between the user and the selection screen. They can be used both in dialog and in background mode, although their uses are slightly different.
    Variants in Dialog Mode
In dialog mode, variants make things easier for the user, since they save him or her from continually having to enter identical values. They can also make the selection screen easier to read, because you can use them to hide input fields. Running an executable program with a variant containing an optimal set of values also reduces the capacity for user error. The optimized database selections speed up the runtime of the program.
    Variants in Background Mode
Variants are the only method for passing values to a report program in a background job. Therefore, when you run a program in the background, you must use a variant (or SUBMIT... VIA JOB). To avoid you having to create a new variant each time you run the report, ABAP contains a mechanism allowing you to pass variable values to variants. See variable values in variants.
To ensure that an executable program is always started using a variant, you can specify in the program attributes that the program may only be started in this way.
    Features
    Creation of variants
Display, change, copy, print, and delete variants
Use and definition of variables in variants
    Variable date calculation
    User-specific fixed values
    Fixed values in table TVARV
You access the variant maintenance tool from the initial screen of the ABAP Editor. Enter the name of the program, select Variants in the Sub-objects group box, and then choose Display or Change.
    Functions
The above screen allows you to:
    Create variants
    Display the variant directory
Display and change values and attributes
    Copy, delete, and rename variants
Before creating a new variant for a program, you should check whether you can use or adapt an existing variant instead.
There are two ways to display variants:
Position the cursor on the Variant field on the initial screen and press F4. The following dialog box lists all of the available variants:
Choose Variants ® Directory on the initial screen:
    Creating Variants
    Prerequisites
You must have defined one or more selection screens for the relevant program. The program may have any type except type S.
    Procedure
On the initial screen of the ABAP Editor, enter the name of the program for which you want to create a variant, select Variants in the Sub-objects group box, and choose Change.
On the variant maintenance initial screen, enter the name of the variant you want to create.
Note the naming convention for variants (see below).
    Choose Create.
If the program has more than one selection screen, a dialog box appears in which you can assign the variant to one or more screens. The dialog box does not appear if the program only has one selection screen. In this case, the selection screen of the program appears straight away.
If there is more than one selection screen, select the screens for which you want to create the variant.
    Example:
If you choose Variant for all selection screens, the variant also applies to any selection screens that you create after creating the variant.
Otherwise, the variant only supplies values to the selection screens that you select in the list.
    Choose Continue.
The (first) selection screen of the program appears.
If your program has more than one selection screen, use the scroll buttons in the left-hand corner of the application toolbar to navigate between them. If you keep scrolling forwards, the Continue button appears on the last selection screen.
Enter the required selections, including multiple and dynamic selections.
    Choose Continue.
    Result
When you have finished, an overview screen appears (ABAP: Save Attributes of Variant), on which you can enter the attributes of your variant and save it.
Note that when you create a new variant, you must enter both values and attributes.
Names of variants: Names can consist of up to 14 alphanumeric characters. The "% " character is not allowed. If you want the variant to be transported automatically with its program, you must create a system variant. The name of a system variant starts "CUS&" for customers, and "SAP&" for SAP system variants. You can only use the "&" character within this prefix in the name of a system variant. It may not occur in any other context. System variants are administered by the Workbench Organizer. Although you can create and access variants from any client, they are always stored in client "000".

  • Variant Data and Data (Type)

I'm on my way to build a XML parser for my program.
How do you make Variant display it's Data and Data (Type) like the one on my screenshot?
I dont want my data type be a string. I want it to be the same as my cluster.
Is there a way to edit the data and data type for a variant control and return the same data for it's indicator?
    Thanks!

Can you demonstrate how exactly you're editing the Variant data type, as string...!!
Below is an example, where I converted a cluster (Error data type) into variant and also displayed it on the Front Panel.
Now if you wanna edit the original cluster data, by editing the string displayed in Variant indicator, this is not a good idea. Ideally you should convert the Variant data type to its original data type and thendo modification and convert it back to Variant.

  • ALV Variants in KSB1

I am trying to restrict end users options on variant displays within KSB1. At present users can change current settings and save settings as the default setting as there is no restriction to user specific.
Does anyone know if it is possible to restrict this via authorisations.

    Hi Simon,
It is possible to restrict by using the autohrization Object  S_ALV_LAYO. Pl check this <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/f6/bd423c3db0de2ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm">SAP Help</a>

  • Variant selection for SIS Info Structures

    Greetings all,
Our management is heavily reliant on using SIS for reporting key sales figures.  We just implemented ECC 6.0, and a new Info Structure table was created.
Their main complaint is with the Get Selection Variant process.  When the icon is clicked, the "Find Variant" popup window displays with the User Name.  When User Name is cleared, all variants are displayed.   They want to bypass the Find Variant popup, and go directly to the complete variant display grid.  This is the behavior they see on other Info Structures that were defined.
I have tried searching in a number of places, including SCN, SDN, SAP Notes using various search terms, with no success.
Would someone kindly point me in the right direction?

    Hai Robert,
In general the GET VARIANT will show all the variant list.
And it is not created for user specific.
Could you please give the Info structure fields and report to displays the field.
In case if you created the Variant please check with your ID is it asking for the User name.
Even with a user id input is there any change in the list of Variants?
    Regards,
    Mani
