  • How can I create variant of control query?

    Dear Expert,
I am using BEx Broadcaster to bradcast query as a report.
In tab Filter Navigation, I enter the control query, but the variant always gives me "(No Selection Possible)".
How can I create variant of control query?
I try to create variant via variable entry page when I excute my query.
The variable show in table "RSRPARAMETRIZA" but not show in BEx Braodcaster.
    Thank you,
    Zilla

    Hello,
Please run this control query on the portal and then save variant you require. If you want this variant to be available
to all users make sure that the user specific flag is unchecked while saving the variant.

  • Fiscal Year Variant in Controlling Area

    Hi All,

Can I assign these two company codes on Controlling Area?

    Dear Ranga,
I thought i will give more information.
The fiscal year variants for the company code and the controlling area can have a different number of special periods, but must have the same number of posting periods. The period limits for the fiscal year variants must also match up. In FI, special periods are used for adjustment postings at year-end closing, or for revaluation. If FI has been set up with four special periods, but CO with only one, then the postings for the second, third, and fourth special periods in FI are posted to the first special period in CO. If there is no special period in CO, the FI postings in the special period are posted to the last posting period in CO.

  • Different Company Code with same fiscal year variant and controlling area

    Hi
I have three company codes in three three different countries: 1000 (ABC India), 2000 (ABC Inc, US), 3000 (ABC Dubai)
But our consultants have assigned only one fiscal year variant V3 and one controlling area 1000 (with fiscal year variant v3)
So what problem one may face because of above settings and what is ideal setting for such scenario
    Edited by: Meenu_ND on Oct 18, 2010 2:35 PM

I have one leading ledger and two non leading ledger (i.e Group ledger and IFRS ledger). But Fiscal year variant is not mentioned for both the non leading ledgers.
So i think it will take V3 only for non leading ledgers too.
And in your solution, since India is main company, fiscal year variant for leading ledger needs to be V3 only.
What if i keep non leading ledger as fiscal year from Jan to Dec. Then it will be:
    Leading Ledger: April to March
Non leading ledger: Jan to Dec
In above case, do i need to create separate controlling area ?

  • Precalculated Web Templates - Variants and Control Queries!!

    Hi,
We are having some problems with precalculating a web template.
Within the template there are multiple queries that need to be precalculated.  All of these queries are using a variable and control query to select a currency.  However, whenever we schedule it to precalculate it always cancels!! When we take the variant out we have no problems and it runs.
Do you know if there are any problems running multipul queries from the same variant, or what the problem may be?
We are running on version 3b.
Any help would be gratfully received.

    Hi Ashish,
Yes all of the variants have been maintained in the Reporting Agent.  Even if we just try it with one variant it still doesnt want to precalculate!!!
Any more help would be great.
    Thanks

  • Costing variant in Controlling & Production

I want a clarification on the following:
I have create a costing variant (ABC1) in Controlling and I am using this for standard costing run.
But lately I found that from PP side, they are using another variant PPP1 for plan and PPP2 for actual.
But when I see the order costs, the target costs are done as per my costing variant ABC1.  How this is happening ?  Is it simplly because I am selecting this variant in the CK40n ?  I am not able to see the variant ABC1 in the variant list available in the PP configuration screen.  Have I done correctly ?  Or I should have created the variant ABC1 in the PP Configuration Screen (tcode OPL1)

    Hi NIkita
Generally these Costing variants in OPL1 is also created by us and not PP guys. You also need to default it at Production order type to avoid much issues.
You cannot use the costing type of ABC1 as that was for product cost estimate, you can use the standard one for it available.
    Valuantion variant can be reused.
If you go to set up through spro and go step by step as you did for ABC1, you will get a better picture.

  • Variant for Control Query on Bex Broadcaster Filter

I am trying to create a Bex Broadcaster setting on a query via query designer (query -->Publish --> Bex Broadcaster). In the Filter Navigation Tab, I want include a filter using a control query with variants. My control query has a variable that is set to (single value, mandatory, manual input) and i created a variant for the control query on the web. I am able to create the Bex Broadcaster setting and enter my control query but when I go enter the variant it always gives me "No selections available".
Another issue that i am having is - when I try to create a filter on a characterisitc in the Bex Broadcaster and give mulitple values in the filter, it ends up generating seperate excel files (distribution type is e-mail) for each value in the filter. Is there any way i can consolidate all these results and get it to generate on single file?

1st : no wanswer by now.
2nd : don't filter in the Broadcastsetting, filter in the Broadcastquery to avoid a broadcast for every filter value.

  • Different fiscal variant for same controlling area

    Hi,
as my client requirement is having 3 company codes two having same fiscal year variant another having different fiscal year for legal requirement operating under same same county.
i have maintain all the setting for the 3 company codes but .
but when i enter to maintain controlling area  OKKP.
    system is throwing following error.
Differing fiscal year variants: V3 - ZP
    Message no. KT297
    Diagnosis
Fiscal year variant V3, controlling area SQRE, does not agree with fiscal year variant ZP, company code 3000.
    The following entries must agree:
u2022     Same number of posting periods (the number of special periods may vary)
    u2022     Same period limits
    Procedure
Ensure that the fiscal year variants of the controlling area and the assigned company codes agree. If necessary, maintain the fiscal year variants.
Please suggest me how to proceed further in this case.
    thanks
    kareem

    Hi Kareem
What you are doing is not correct
All comp codes under the Contrr Area must have same FYV and same Ch of accounts
    1. Go to IMG and assign same FYV to the 3rd comp code
    2. Go to IMG > FI (New) > Global Settings > Ledgers > Define and Activate Non-Leading Ledgers
Here,  activate parallel ledger for this 3rd comp code and assign the other FYV in the parallel ledger
Also maintain the Doc No ranges for parallel ledger because your FYV will be different between Main and Parallel ledger

  • Company codes with different fiscal year variants in a controlling area

    Hi all,
When I try to assign a company code with different fiscal year variant than controlling area I get error. It is ok so far.
However, after assigning company with same fsv to controlling area the system lets me to change company code's fsv in company code global settings and I can even save it.
So I wonder how it would be possible ? Why do I get just a warning instead of an error and save ?
    Thanks and regards.
    M.Yusuf Dogan

    Hi Bulut,
There are 12 normal and 3 special periods in the fsv of the company code which i'm trying to assign. However, controlling area's fsv has 12 normal and 4 special periods.  I get an error message "KT297".
Actually, my point is that if the company code's fsv is same with co's I can assign but the system lets me change cc's fsv after assignment.

  • One Controlling Area for Two CoCds with different Fiscal Year variant

    Hi,
I have a Company code with FYV "A1" with 12 Periods (Apr - Mar) - Fiscal year start at Apr-01 and ends Mar-31 of the next year.
I have another company code with FYV "B1" with 12 Periods (Jan-Dec). - Fiscal year start at Jan-01 and ends Dec-31.
Chart of Accounts for both the company code is same.
Can I assign these two company codes to one Controlling Area?
When I try to assign the company codes, I got the following warning message.
    Differing fiscal year variants: A1 - B1
    Message no. KT297
    Diagnosis
Fiscal year variant A1, controlling area 1000, does not agree with fiscal year variant B1, company code 5001.
    The following entries must agree:
    - Same number of posting periods (the number of special periods may vary)
    - Same period limits
    Procedure
Ensure that the fiscal year variants of the controlling area and the assigned company codes agree. If necessary, maintain the fiscal year variants.
    1. What is the meaning of "Same period limits"?
    2. Does it mean the fiscal year start and end date must be same?
    3. What is the impact of the warning message?
    Thanks
    Palani

Having same fiscal year variant is one of the requirements for different company codes to be under one controlling area.
The FYV for the company codes and the controlling area can have a different number of special periods. The number of posting periods must be the same.
Impact of warning message: You cannot create one controlling area for both company codes (1:n assignment).
If you like, you can create one controlling area for one compnay code with FYV A1 and another controlling area for another company code with FYV B1.
PS: Please reward the points if you find the answer as useful and rewarding points is a way of saying thanks.

  • Can't write to strict typedef with Control Value:Set [Variant]

    Hey everyone,
I inherited a project that uses stacked strict typedefs for the front panel, and I need to programmatically change one control, and it is within an event.  However, the control is a strict typedef in a strict typedef, and Control Valueet [Variant] has no effect on the specific control.  I have gotten the method to work in small test vi's without typedefs, so I'm pretty sure that is the problem.
The only thing I can think of is that there is a unique way of referencing the control name through typedefs, and I don't know it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

    Lynn,
Thanks for the reply.  It turns out that to programmatically Control Valueet [Variant] bundled controls, you can only pass in the top level bundle control name.  It took some tricky placement around my structures, but I eventually unbundled and bundled by name from the top level down to the bottom and back up to make it work.
    Thanks again

  • Page-break in alv background job for alv output variant not coming correctl

    Hi,
I have created an ALV grid report. When i run the report in background i get the output with correct page-break on FIELD1. Now when i run the report in background with an "ALV output variant" (its the ALV variant that controls the fields display in the output; this is not the program variant), i do not get the page-break on FIELD1.  I have already build the sort criteria and using:
    gs_sort-group = '* '.     "New-Page
Please let me know what could be reason for not getting the page-break in background when i am using the alv output variant and how do i correct this problem.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Hello Everyone,
I have solved the problem. While running the program in background, we get the page-breaks when we use the below part of code in the sort catalogue with the condition that the program variant should not use any ALV layout variant.
    gs_sort-group = '* '.     "New-Page
If you are using the ALV layout variant in the program variant then we can check the ROWPOS, COLPOS, and NO_OUT for that ALV layout variant and pass them along in the fieldcatalog table. You should be careful with not to pass the layout variant in the DISVARIANT. You can notice that i have cleared it and simply passing the program name into that.
*C-- Process separately for jobs running in Background. Actually
*C-- sortcat-group solves the problem only in Foreground. In background
*C-- when ALV layout variant is not selected then it works otherwise it
*C-- fails. So for background jobs we are reading the fieldcat and then
*C-- passing the same in the display FM.

        gs_disvariant-report = 'ZGPPMP0001'.
    Then pass gt_fieldcat to 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
The reason i'm doing it this way is that when we pass the layout variant name, the contents in gt_fieldcat were getting modified.
One more thing i'd like to point out is that that, i tried to delete the fields with no_out = 'x'. Now when i ran the program in background with all the fields in sort catalog (suppose there are 2 fields field1 and field2) also in fieldcatalog it ran fine. In the next run in background i removed one of the fields in sort catalog from the fieldcatalog (delete the fields with no_out = 'x') and i got dump. Basically i had hidden field1 and so the code which was deleting fields with no_out = 'x' deleted this field from gt_fieldcat. So basically we should not delete fields with no_out = 'x'.
I was getting ABAP runtime errors    MESSAGE_TYPE_X in the following part of the standard code.
    000310     LOOP AT CT_SORT INTO LS_SORT.
    000320
    000330       READ TABLE IT_FIELDCAT ASSIGNING <LS_FIELDCAT>

    000370       ENDIF.
    000380
    000390       LS_SORT-SELTEXT = <LS_FIELDCAT>-SELTEXT.
i have just mentioned this part because when i checked the forum many people were getting such errors "MESSAGE_TYPE_X". This could also be one of the reasons.

  • VA01 Transaction variant

SAP Experts your help is needed and appreciated!
We need to have a transaction variant for VA01 called ZVA01 to hide a field, however it is required to keep it at VA01. So we have created a transaction variant for it and assigned NO_VARIANT to the Order type ZVPV and it is working as desired. However, one strange thing is happening... when we enter ZVA01 and assign the order type ZVPV (which has NO_VARIANT at VOV8) we enter and the field is hidden this all good, then I go back to the screen were the order type is assigned and then we choose another order type ZTA (which has variant in VOV8 in blank) and the hidden field shows, all good as well. However, when we go back again to the order type screen (without going back to the menu screen) and choose again ZVPV and enter THE FIELD IS SUPRISINGLY SHOWING. Any idea why?

    Hi Patricia,
Guess you need to check with screen sequence control in Transaction variants which controls which screens are included in the variant.
Check the below SAP Help on it.

  • Ledger 0 has fiscal year variant instead of V3 - Message - GI174

    Hi all,
i am geting below message when i am doing KP06 for cost center planning
Ledger 0 has fiscal year variant instead of V3
    Message no. GI174
    Diagnosis
When transferring planning data, the receiver ledgers must have the same fiscal year variant as the sender system, since all planned periods are transferred and not just one period with a posting date. Therefore, the period cannot be converted.
    Procedure
Compare the fiscal year variant of the sender system with the FI-SL fiscal year variant.
You can access this in FI-SL Customizing by choosing Basic Settings Master Data -> Ledger (select the ledger specified in this message) -> Assign Comp.Cd/Comp. -> After selecting the company code, the system displays the assigned fiscal year variant.
    Kindly do the needful.
    Regards,
    TDK

    Hi,
The message means you need to change fiscal year variant of ledger 0 to V3. I guess your fiscal year variant of controlling area is V3. Both of them should have same fiscal year variant. So change it may be solve the problem.
