Variants ikon missing

Hi experts,
i have copied one query and i have given some condition according to client requirement, but in new query there is no variant icon, in old query it is there, how to get it that variants in new query,
pl help me to do this,

Variant selection missing in BEx Broadcaster

I've created workbook in BEx Analyzer (2004s). Workbook has selection screen. I also created variants for workbook. I then went into BEx Broadcaster to distribute workbook. I don't see option to select variant that I created in Analyzer under workbook precalculation tab. I see only option for variable assignment which ask me to create new assignment.
I've used information broadcasting 3.5. It has option to enter variant under pre-calculation tab. Any idea why this option is missing in 70 BEx Broadcaster.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Broadcasting workbooks via variants is not available yet in BI 7.0.
According to version 14.1 (oct. 10) of the Functional Enhancements Schedule for BI this functionality will be delivered in 2nd half of 2008.
To find the document:
service.sap.com -> help & support -> release & upgrade info -> upgrade info.
Then in the navigation pane choose Solution-specific information -> SAP BI upgrade
The document is called Functional enhancements schedule BI in SAP NetWeaver 7.0
Check this doc regularly as new versions are uploaded frequently.

TDMS BPL variant tab missing

Hello,
I cannot finde any variant tab at project or at package level like mentioned in the "How to use the Business Process Library Guide for TDMS 4.0".
Therefore I have no chance to specify the data selection!
Can anyone help me with this?

Could you please tell me what is the SP level of DMIS and DMIS_CNT components in your control system?
I found some notes for you to check if your issue is similar to "Symptoms" and the SP level match.

Message variant is missing in INBOUND IDOC.

Any one can help on this issue?
The sender has confirmed that message variant was filled in outgoing file.
However, When we received this Inbound IDOC, the message variant is blank.
I still am confused by two questions:
1. The function module which insert record into table EDIDC and EDIDD, is same as the function module which post this IDOC to sap module(normally we maintained it in WE57)
2. We normally need to maintained in WE57, but also need create one processing code, what is relationship between WE57 and processing code(WE42)

Message Type/Message Variant needs to be maintained in WE20 ( Partner Profiles). In case of inbound IDOC ( receiving the data other systems) Data processing/posting will happens via function module. the function module will attach to the process code.
Process Code : The IDoc interface uses the process code to find the business process which controls the conversion of the IDoc into the SAP document.
The Process code will assign to the function module in WE42, the same function module will assign to the Message type and Idoc type in WE57
In a short summary, The Function module required to post the Idoc/update the data in SAP. However the Function module should process specific to the Message type and Idoc type only. It means the settings is required to identrify the correct function module to process the Inbound Idocs.
Whenever there is a problem with ALE setting the message 64 will trigger, it means the IDOC is ready to transfer to the application ( process through FM ).

Variable Personalization - "Save Value" Variant Setting missing in Bex 7.x

Hallo Experts,
in Bex 3.x when creating a Variant (Button "Save All Variants" in the Variable Pop-Up) i was able to decide (via field "Save Values" in the "Save All Variants" Screen) wheter i want to save the values for a certain variable or not (NO_IMPORT).
In Bex 7.x i'm not able to find a functionality (corresponding to NO_IMPORT) to decide which variable should be saved in the variant.
Does anybody know if/where i can find this feature in BEX 7.x?

Unfortunately this doesn't solve my problem. It's not about saving variants in Bex 7.x. But different behaviour in Bex 7.x compared to Bex 3.x.
In Bex 3.x when saving a variant it was possible to decide, whether a value for the variable should be saved or not (via drop down boxes in the "Save All Variants" screen).
In Bex 7.x i just can set the variable value to blank, if i don't want a value to be saved. I have no more settings here, as in Bex 3.x.
As a consequence: i can set mandatory variables to blank in a 3.x query, when i set "Save Values" for this variable to "NO". In Bex 7.X i will always get an Error Message ("enter a value for variable XY") when selecting a variant with mandatory variable = blank.

Netweaver 2004s Variant is missing many functionalities

In bw 3.5 we were able to pass on values maintained in a table through a variable and save in the variant. This feature and many others are not available in BI 7.0

I am not on 7.0 (aka 2004s)but I believe all the variable options are still available. Are you talking about BEx or Web? Web templates have changed and you may need to review your tempates and default template settings.
Help screen on variables n 7.0 seems the same to me

Report Layout variant missing in ECC6

Hi All,
we are going for upgrade from 4.6 to ECC6. In ECC6 in most of report's report layout variant are missing in ECC6.But our client want same variant in ECC6 as in 4.6.
Please sugest how to over come this issue.

I think you can try out this...
Include the variant in a transport request and give the transport req no to the basis guy; and inform him to import the same req no into ECC6 version.
He can export the transport req no from 4.6 to windows desktop and then he can import the same into ECC 6 system.

BI Admin Cockpit: Program variant missing in Process chain

Hi,
I'm installing BI Admin Cockpit and have troubles with Process chains. I followed the installatin guide and had problems activating process chains: 0TCT_C2_INIT_P01 and 0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01 because of missing InfoPackages. I solved this by installing an correction as it is described by Note: 1432353. After this I activate these Process chains manually in RSA1 Administration--> BI Content -->Process Chains (all necessary objects). No Problems occured. The Problem is when I'm start these Process chains, I get an error on the last step. There is an Abap Programm with an variant. This variant is missing in the System.
The Variants are:
- RSTCC_Dataload (0TCT_C2_INIT_P01)
- RSTCC_QRuntime (0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01)
I tried also to get these Process chains with Dataflow before and after to view if I forgot anything to activate, but there is no programm variant. Can anybody explain, how to get these programm variants?

I faced the same problem. Basically what I found was that variants were not defined. So I manually created the value for variants:
1. For RSTCC_DATALOAD assign value TCT_C2_DELTA_P01
2. For RSTCC_QRUNTIME assign value 0TCT_C0_DELTA_P01
Our system info is similar to what you have and I in fact had Basis team patch BI Cont to level 6 but this did not help. If I were to take a guess i would have to say that these variants are missing in the 7.01 BI version, you can either choose to create a OSS message with SAP and wait for them to fix it or you could fix it manually.

After unicode conversion in transaction S_ALR_87013611 and
S_ALR_87013613 variant is missing.
We checked in table VARIT - "Variant Texts" data is missing.

I don't think that note 987914 can be the answer.
Can it be something connected to the procedure for conversion or caused by a wrong-executed step?

After System Refresh Variants missing

Hi,
We have used Export / Import method to build QAS system from production
ABAP export file.
After System refresh we got the same Production client with all
configurations, Variants, Object including data.. Which is Perfect.
But, as per our business we don't want to use the same production
client number in Quality System., so we done Cliet Copy to copy to
different client (ex: Client 200) using SAP_ALL profile.
Question: But after client copy we found that some Data, Objects,
Variants are missing in the new client (200).
Ex: In Client 100 (Copy of production client) table T009 is having 10
entries, but after client copy in client 200 the same table doesn't have any
entry in that including standard and Z.
Please help me on this, how do I get clone / copy of 100 client
(original client)

Hi Ramesh,
Looks like your client copy didn't bring all the data and Objects, Did you checked logs, Is there any error message ? The client copy completed with all the tables ?
You can try Remote client copy method .
You can manually export the variants from the source client to Target client and you need to export the Variants from the table VARID, VARI, VARIT and VARIS.
You can use the below forum procedure to export and import variants.

Since, not only the variants you are missing data and Objects, I would suggest for re-copy the client.

"Missing files" NOT actually missing

I had some drive problems that during play and syncing made iTunes mark many of my files "missing". With the working drive, these tracks are not actually missing - double-clicking on each one will refresh its view. The problem is that iTunes seems satisfied with its 'missing' status for each, such that 'next track' and ipod-syncing assume those files don't need to be checked again.
In other words, despite no real problems with file access, I can only get iTunes to refresh its view of those missing tracks by double-clicking each one, which is completely unworkable, given the thousands it thinks are missing.
I've seen other variants of missing file problems but not this. Can I get iTunes to refresh its view of those files? The file locations *have not changed*
I'm pretty sure this is new behavior, previous builds seemed happy to check a file anew if asked in any way (e.g. 'next').

This is exactly my problem as well. The MP3's are still in the same location with the same names, and I can't deduce why it's only about 40% of the total files unlinked.
This is the second time I've had to repair my Library, and nothing in iTunes makes that easy. If I delete everything it resets my ratings and counts, which is precisely what I want to avoid. If I re-import the music, I end up with duplicate files with extra numbers.
I did the whole ITL/XML refresh in the support section, then it gives me this "missing" headache. iTunes already knows which Artist folder to start looking in for each song... strcmp() anyone???
In my security efforts I have disabled my system from launching any script files with double-click, so while I would be happy to try Otto's JavaScript method... It shouldn't be too much to ask the iTunes team for a "Resolve Missing Files" button.
Even kinder would be the ability to make the iPod the master list, and have iTunes be on the receiving end of the sync. But I can see the i's rolling when that comes to purchased content.
It's wonderful when things work.

Variant error in f-22

i post one document in f-22 document number 100000 after that this document number to assign the correspondece request in fb12 system asks document number,company code once enter request saved in f.64 i have execute this one according to the document number whther system showing error messaage

A correspondence request SAP19 was selected for company code 1005, for which the report allocation to the correspondence type has not been maintained completely. The name of the print program and/or the name of the variant is missing in the report allocation.

Authorizations for variants

I have created may own transaction that calls ABAP query and gives some report. It has its own variant for selection screen. Now as I am creating roles, I get the message that the authorization for variant is missing. So, I know how to create/edit roles in PFCG but I don't know how to add authorization for variant to existing role.

There are few Transactions, that could be referred:
T. Code: SE93
You have created Z - VARIANT Transaction Code, using the Transaction and the Transaction Variant. Based up BASIS-Admin will assign the authorizations (for the respective users).
T. Code: SU53 or ST01 - for missing Authorization
T. Code: SU21 - Create Authorization Object
T. Code: SUIM - Roles by Authorization Object (which is not relevant, as your's is Z-Transaction for Screen Variant)

MD04 release reject problem

Sir in MD04 when i am converting planned order to production order i am getting following message also release is rejecting :-
No valuation variant found for valuation area AMBA
Message no. C6015
Diagnosis
The system could not find a valid valuation variant for valuation area AMBA.
If the valutaion variant is not assigned to a valuation area, this will have the following effect on the valuation of the goods receipt of the finished product:
u2022 If the price control indicator in the material master of the finished product is S, it will lead to price differences.
u2022 If the price control indicator in the material master of the finished product is V, the goods receipt will be regarded as a delivery free of charge.
Procedure
Assign a valuation variant to valuation area AMBA in the configuration menu.
Can u please tell me in which tcode i have to do customization to overcome above error message.

Report Group Issue

Hi,
We have a report group 1AIP, the report generated using this report query has variant in the test system but the same is not there in the validation system(next to the test system).
When investigated the report inside the report group is same 1AIP-001, but the way it is generated in the test system is through GR33 whereas in validation system is GRR3. Can some one tell why the variants are missing! and why the reports inside the report group is different?
Note: The description of report group between the Test and validation is different.

It is not possible to add aggregated calculated fileds like count, countdistinct in a bar chart view's calculation tab. I don't know how you did it. Can you give the next step that you did after choosing Group by as type.
Anyway, I tried the same thing with updating ordered list and found that for the third calculation (Count(number)/CountDistinct(user)), the result is 1 and 3 (it should have been 1.5), so there is certainly some problem.
Once you give me the steps on how you created Count, CountDistinct calculated fields and added those in the bar chart, and after I can reproduce, we can file a bug/SR.
