Variants Migration 3.0 to 7.0

Hi,
We are migrating Queries, Work Books & Web temples to 3.0 to 7.0.
I have gone through many links for Query or Work Book Variants Migration 3.0 to 7.0.
I found some of the tables like RSRPARAMETRIZA - Parameterization for a query, workbook, and web application. RSRVARIANT -- Variant Values
Is it possible to Migration existing variants 3.0 to 7.0 or same variants we need to create in DEV and transport to PRD?
Pls share the steps.
Any help is appreciated.

Once we run the report RSR_MIGRATE_VARIANTS migrates into 7x tables RSRPARAMETRIZA,RSRPARAMETRIZAT but this activity I can do across the land scape D.Q,P or we can transport tables pls correct me.
same report report migrates all Global & Local saved Variants?

3.5 to 04s Variant Migration Issues

We have upgraded our sandbox system from 3.5 SP18 to 7.0 SP15. I ran the two variant migration programs RSR_VARIANT_XPRA and RSR_MIGRATE VARIANTS. Ran the MIGRATE pgm with the the convert ALL option. Also applied a couple of variant related Notes, one from SP 17 - to get the variant description to display and one from SP16 that added a button on the variable input screen to allow the display of <b>User</b> variants rather than <b>Global</b> variants.
We're using the Bex Analyzer 3.5 front end and here's what we are seeing -
All the 3.5 variants were migrated as Global variants rather than User variants, which the program comments seem to indicate is what was intended. Our preference would have been to convert variants as User and then create the much smaller number that we need to be Global - or give us the option.
The program did NOT adjust the variant Technical name as it was supposed to e.g. replacing spaces with an underscore character. So we can load a converted variant, but if we try to modify and save it, it provides error messages about the unconverted technical name being invalid - it doesn't like the spaces that are still in the tech name that it failed to convert.
There is only a single Save button - which only saves new variants as User variants. Any way to save it as a Global variant from the 3.5 Bex Analyzer front end?
Anyone having similar issues or aware of fixes in the works. Otherwise, I'll need to open Customer Msgs I guess.
It seems like not enough attention has been given to maintaining BEx Analyzer 3.5 functionality.

It is possible to save 3.x variant with characters other than A-Z; 0-9 and '_'. But this is not allowed in new variant storage for technical name of a variant. Due to this fact, the migration report automatically attempts to convert all the characters of original 3.x variant, that are not allowed in new variant storage, in to '_'. But since the variants are always identified by its description in variable screen in NW2004s, this change will be transparent for end-users and will not affect the usage directly. When there is no language dependent description found for the corresponding 3.x variant, the migration report automatically saves the original 3.x variant name (with special characters) as its description (in current logon language) in new variant storage.

Upgrade 3.0B to NW04s - Existing variant missing in new frontend!

Hi all
We have upgraded our system from BW 3.0B to Netweaver 2004s BI with Support Package 12 installed. On the frontend, we are using the new BEx Analyzer with SP14 (rev 797).
Our existing query variants from 3.0B are no longer visible in the new BEx Analyzer 2004s, while new variants can be saved and used.
The existing variants are only visible and usable from RSRT or from BEx Analyzer 3.x.
We have applied: Note 1003481 - Variant Migration - Migrate all variants
and ran 'RSR_VARIANT_XPRA', before running 'RSR_MIGRATE_VARIANTS' but to no avail.
We have looked at Note 1054634 - Query variants are not found or are not listed for selection as well.
But we have tested with queries with technical names shorter than 25 characters but it is not working as well.

UPDATE:
After the RSR_MIGRATE_VARIANTS program was run, the variants were migrated over to the RSRPARAMETRIZA and RSRPARAMETRIZAT tables.
However, the variants are still not showing up in the new BEx Analyzer frontend. We also noticed the difference between newly created variants in the new BEx Analyzer and the migrated variants:
Newly created variants - use a !PERS47P* naming convention in the PARAMN field
Migrated variants - use the variant name itself.
Newly created variants - CONTENT field which contains XML information
Migrated variants - CONTENT field XML appear to be incomplete (<> tags not closed etc..)
Newly created variants - CONTENT field makes reference to generated ID
Migrated variants - CONTENT field XML tried to store actual variant selection data but is incomplete.
Has anyone used the migration programs successfully before?

Variants not migrated to Version 7

Hi everyone,
We successfully did our technical upgrade and are in the process of migrating all the queries and workbooks to Version 7.0. We used the migrating of variants programs during the initial technical upgrade and have no problem seeing the variants in Version 3.x of the reports and workbooks.
We don't see any variants when we run the reports after they have been migrated. The old 3.x variants are showing up in the RSRVARIANT, RSRVARIANTDIR and RSRVARIANTVIEW tables. I believe the variants should be in the RSPARAMETRIZA and RSPARAMETRIZAT tables - but these are blank.
We tried migrating the variants again and get an error that they could not be migrated.
Did anyone have this issue? If so, please let me know!

Hi Pratik,
It turns out that we were missing authorizations! We needed to have full access to the authorization object S_RS_PARAM. In fact, users need to have this object as well, otherwise they won't see their parameters.
When you run the program to migrate the variants, if you don't have the authorizations for changing (we only had display) then the migration will not be done.
We re-did it after and now everything is fine!

So i have configured the system accordingly with the OSS Notes 954816 and 956054. This should allow that knew created master data customers could be replicated in the FDSCM-COL to the business partners.
I'm know trying to use the MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT to migrate the old customers master data but the system seems to not create any data.
Does this transaction needs to have any other configuration more our to activate any BAPI ?
PS: I tried to activate the FDM_PARTNER_MAP_COLL bapi but the system did not allowed stating the message ENHANCEMENT194.

Migrate all variant of old user id to new user id

I am working on Single sign on project. I need to change all user id to match with a network id. That is no problem. However, I need to be able to bring along all variant for old user id to the new id. Do you know is there a Bapi or a way to do that? I know I can have user login as old id and create a copy of the variant but that will be a lot of work for user and they may complain. I donu2019t want users to do anything except change their id. All the process should be invisible to users.
Is there a way to do this? If so, please let me know.

SAP EH&S 4.6C Migration to SAP ECC6

Hi All,
We are having separate SAP R/3 instance for EH&S module (4.6C system). The transactions system is SAP R/3 4.7 system and is due for ECC6 upgrade. Just want to know
1.     Has anything changed in EHS module from 4.7 to ECC6. If yes, what?
2.     if we migrate the EH&S functionality from the separate instance for EHS to transactional system in ECC6 / 4.7 R/3 system - will it get affected.
3.     What will be the best time to do the migration of EHS data to transactional system (before or after upgrade). We are using specifications, active phrase libraries, reports, report templates and report generation variants and WWI server for MSDS.

Sorry for the mis-intepretation.
I was about to say that i facing the problem for another Apshell say 'Apshell2'
I was not able to find out the OLAP database for this Apshell2. But for Apshell the OLAP db does exist in Analysis server.
Any suggestions so that i can get the other apshell2 in the analysis server.

Error while migrating PAR 7.0 to 7.4

As we are migrating form EP 7.0 to EP 7.4 .
I got ear file from Par migration tool.
Importing ear in nwds 7.3 and resolving error , I deploy the ear in portal it is working fine.
But when i migrate the web Project to Web dc in Track . It is showing errors at build time but in Java files there is no Red mark .
To resolve errors i have created External Library and ear for External and add the htmlb_api.jar as public part . and Define dependecy in Web dc but it is still showing errors.

Issue on migration of tax depreciation balances for group assets

Dear Experts,
My client is using group assets for tax depreciation report India.
The SAP implementation was done in 2006 during the data migration the
client was not clear of the values both individual asset wise and
group asset wise to migrate to tax depreciation area. So the tax
depreciation for some of the assets are migrated with some
(non caluclated) value.
Now the client want to see the tax depreciation group asset wise or if
possible individual asset wise.For this the group asset need to be
created and assigned to each individual asset in the asset master
record.
The fiscal year variant is v3, april to march with 4 quaters June,
Sep, Dec, Mar.
Now when the data migration for the current year come into picture
I can use AS81/AS82 for loading current year opening balance and
accumulated depreciation for all the group of assets as a whole. Or
I can use AS91/AS92 to load balances into tax depreciation of
each asset individually. But I am not sure whether this is correct.
And also what to do with the previous years balances. I am very
confused. Somebody suggest good solution.
When I create a legacy asset or group asset in AS91 and AS81
respectively the fields in the Takeover values screen are grayed
out and do not allow mw to input values. But I am able to enter
values by clicking the button Transactions in the Takeover values
screen and able to enter a value date , transacton type and amount
for tax depreciation area. Here again I am not convinced using 100
transaction type for current year opening balance. I used
transaction type 652(Unplanned tax depreciation on current year
acquisition) for accumulated current year dpereciation upto second
quarter septemeber 2008.
In asset explorer under "Planned values" tab the opening balance
must be visible under Fiscal year start column but it is displayed
under change column as I entered values for tax depreciation area
in AS81 in Transaction screen with asset value date as 01.04.2008
transaction type 100 and amount as xxxxxx and value date 30.09.2008
652 xxxxxxxx.

Simple guide to Migrate SL Server Wiki 10.6.8 to Lion Server 10.7.2

These instructions assumes that you already have the Wiki server functional on the new OSX Lion Server 10.7.2 and that you are logged in as a system administrator.
On the SL Server, browse to \Library\Collaboration and right click on the Collaboration folder and click "Get Info"
Scroll all the way to the bottom and expand "Sharing & Permissions"
If the Lock icon shows to be locked, click it and enter an Administrators password associated with the user account you are logged in under. Make sure the permissions for "Everyone" are set to "Read & Write". Then click on the small Gear icon below that and select "Apply to Enclosed Items". It will ask you if you are sure, tell it yes.
Now copy the Collaborations folder to the new Lion Server. Create the following directory to save the files too. \myoldwiki It will probably ask you to authenticate making a new folder at the root of the drive. So if prompted, tell it to allow and enter your administrator password is prompted. So now you have \myoldwiki\collaboration at the root of your new lion server.
Open Safari and browse to http://localhost on your Lion Server to verify that your existing server is working. If you get the "Welcome to OS X Lion Server" page with several icons for My page, Updates, Wikis, People, & Podcasts then your server is working. If not, see "Setting up OS X Lion Wiki Server". (An article that has not yet been written-Soon to follow)
If you click on Wikis, and if this is a fresh install, you will not see any wiki pages listed. On the top right of the web page, click on the + sign to create a new wiki. You can name it Test Wiki like I did and then create the page. Once created, go to it to make sure that its there.
Once your new Wiki server is confirmed to be functional, open terminal and enter the following command:
sudo wikiadmin migrate -r /myoldwiki/collaboration
Then press Enter/Return. Enter your users password if prompted. (Remember, passwords do not use echo in terminal so you will not see your password as you type it. Press Enter/Return again and you should see something similar to the following:

Depending on the size of your wiki on SL Server, and depending on how many pages and attachments you have installed on it, this process could take anywhere from several seconds to several minutes. Also your entry may vary from mine above depending on how many pages you have as well. I currently only have 6 pages as you can see. Overall, the end result is what you want to see: "Migration complete". This is a very good sign.
If you get a lot of errors like i did my first time trying to do this, I found that i forgot to turn on and verify that my new Lion Server web server and wiki page were fully functional prior to starting the migration. So if you get several errors that look similar to this.......

You need to check your web server and wiki settings again.
Once everything is complete, you will need to go into your Server app on Lion Server and turn off the web server and also the wiki server. After about a minute or so, restart the web server then the wiki server and give it about 30 seconds or so to completely come back online. Now browse to http://localhost on the Lion Server and you should once again see the "Welcome to OS X Lion Server" page. Click on wikis and you should see the list of wikis you imported as well as the test wiki you created earlier. This will confirm that the files have been truly copied to the proper location for wikis on the new Lion Server.
At this point, your old wiki pages are ready to be used on your new OS X Lion Server.
There is a drawback with this process. Since you are moving ONLY the wiki database over to the new machine, all of the original users and groups is not transferred. As you can see i have 6 wikis and 2 users. This process doe not import the users and their configurations over to the new server. That process is completed by "Exporting" the "Server Admin Settings" & "Service Settings" from the SL Server "Server Admin" and importing them in the reversed fashion on the new Lion Server using Server Admin on the new server. This, however, is for another tutorial yet to be written. Mostly because i have yet to do it.

We have problems in abap rules when migrate the infosource

We are having problems to do the migration of some objects of version
3.x to version 7.
There are some objects standard like Update Rule, InfoSource and
Datasource that when we migrated the rules ABAPS contained in the
Update Rule and Infosource are not migrate properly.
We are using the method of automatic migration that when clicking the
right button on the object, choosing the option additional functions,
create transformation and input the name of the new infosource. The
same way is necessary to migrate the transfer structure. After this we
migrated the Datasource and we tried to activate all objects, but
several erros happened in the abap rules.
Example: In the new Transformation based n Upadate Rule 0PS_C08 in the
key figure 0AMOUNT, the routine show me the follow error:
E:Field "COMM_STRUCTURE" is unknown. It is neither in one of the
specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement. "DATA" statement
"DATA" statement.
This is one example, but this conversion happened for several
transformations with abap rules.
Which is the recommendation for the standard objects in this case and
the others cases ? For objects Z* there some recommendation too?

Hi,
I checked the code and as I saw you're using return tables. This feature is not yet implemented in transformations! You have to find a workaoround for a code in start- or endroutines that appends the data.
In general you have to replace comm_structure and icube_Values by new class attributes/variables.
On which SP are you currently?

I migrated my bpel process manager from Version 2.1.2 [oc4j linux] to 10.1.2.0.0 [using jboss as application server].
The orabpel schema for 10.1.2.0.0 seems to be a bit different.
I installed the new schema and then dumped all the data from my previous schema. I also successfully deployed the 2.1.2 processes onto 10.1.2 version.
I can initiate a new instance of the process, however , the previously completed instances or not completed instances fail with the following error,

If you're asking about a Windows Script Host (WSH) script, you don't have to declare stdin because it's part of the host.
Ok... So if I understand you correctly, I'm actually programming in J(ava)Script on windows for WSH. Simply trying to call ReadLine fails as well, as it is not defined according to the compiler.
Be specific: What are you trying to do? Tell what you want to do, not
how you think it needs to be done.
