Varient Configuration

Dear Experts,
I had writen same question in mornning,but I din't got sinle answer,this time I hope I will get tha answer.
In VC,I have created KAMET material Super Bom & Super routing.My plan order is created after MRP run,hence there is no problem in Super Bom,but when I am coverting the plan order to production order or creating a Production order,it is not selecting the Routing.I have mantian,Order type,order type dependent parameter and order sheduling profile.There is some missing link that I am not getting.Can any one of you gurus can help me out of the same.
My question is while creating production order or coverting the plan order to production order routing is not selected(Super routing operstion is not getting selected)I have maitained the dependency for super routing.

Dear Sir,
I went to configuration profile and selected the GM task list and writen the Group number of routing but it is giving error massage saying that the GM task list does not yet maintained.I have tryed this many times but its not working.I think what you are saying is write as I was also trying the same from yesterday,but I don't know what this error massage is there for.I say you step by step what i did.
I had created super bom and super routing for Kemat material.I had given dependency to both Bom & Routing.But I am unable to do the configuration of GM task list as it is showing the error massage.
One more think what you writen is selection condition,is that the same Dependency what I have assaigned to Super Bom & Routing or different.
Please help me out as I know I had did all the setting needed for this assaignment but have stuck in one place.

Unable to save the sales order in varient configuration

Hi Gurus,
In varient configuration i have done all the settings and it works fine, and i am getting one error
while saving the sale order(incomplete long) showing configuration.
while click the error shwoing like this :
Item 000011 can only be changed by configuring material XXXX(item 000010)
Error Message NO. V1456
(Item &1 can only changed by configurable material &2 (item &3))
Please help in in this regards.
Where i am missing the settings.

Dear Rambabu,
While saving the sales order Configuration showing in the incompletion log means it is related to configurable material only so you look in these areas,
1.Check the BOM settings whether BOM is exploding properly or not.
2.Item category is getting determined or not.
3.Have you able to select the sub item items through configuration selection screen or not.
4.Go to transaction VOV7 check the item category settings related to the configuration.
5. Have you maintained all the data in the KMAT (Configurable) material master data like class assignment etc.

How varient configuration is related with MM,Which are the related T-codes for it .How it is configured.
What is difference between material maintainance through varient configuration & Batch management.
Is it possible to maintain material by above options.

Varient configuration is use for the material with diffrent properties like CARS
material is same but only due to the color the selling price will differ
likewise to keep single material with diff charecteristics Varient configuration will be used

DMS with varient configuration

I am using the varient configuration in SAP , what we want that based on the characteristic value system should select the document , I don't know how to go about it , Please help me !

Dear Amit,
Go to SPRO --> Cross Application Component --> Classification System --> Classes --> Maintain Object Types & Class Types, now in your scenario, you want to use the document in PO but you are using the class type 300 which is for Variant Configuration, so choose the class type 300 and go into details ...check whether the "Document" screen options is selected or not, if not then select that and Save.
I hope this will solve your issue, similarly you can get into class type 48 and check the settings used accordingly.

In case all this sound complicated to you, simply in your document "document type" enter the class type and class..that should also solve your purpose..!!!

Varient Configuration prod order is not picking the super routing operation

Dear Experts,
In varient configuration,I have maintain Super routing and Super bom for KMET material.While creation of prod order or converting plan order to prod order,Routing is not getting selected.I have maintained dependency and have checked Production sheduling profile,order type and order dependent parameter,all is ok.Even the Super Bom is getting selected after MRP run as per my requirment.
What I am not getting is selection of routing for production order.Can any of the expert help to find the missing link.

For material Variant (FERT) production order Routing is not picking?Just check the Selection condition which is assigned to the operation is same as the selction of material variant i.e., Char & Char values has configured in MRP 3 View of Material variant.

Error in varient configuration

im getting error in varient configuration.
my main item is cd1
varient color is red, blue, black
im maintaing pr00 for cd1, and va00 for red,blue,black.
whille im creating the sales order ,im getting main material price im not getting varient price

Maintain one more characterictic like Zprice and in Addl data give table as SDCOM and field as VKOND and no values, this is characteristics for variant price and include it in the class which u have created earlier.
goto CT04 and goto values .... there select one value eg RED and then goto object dependency and give code as
$self.Zprice = 'A1'
and for all values give it like that..
Now goto VK11 and give VA00 .....
then enter varaitn as A1 and give price
give A2 and give price
like all variants 'A1' etc etc etc which u maintained in object dependency ....
now u can create profile in Cu41 and then run sales order
so what ever u select ...red, blue green etc in order for eg color characterictics .. u have maintained for each value in characteristics .. object dependency .... as $self.Zprice = 'A1', so A1 price maintained in VK11 so if u select Red ... then price from A1 comes ..
same procedure u follow for all values in other characterictics .. with only one characteristics Zprice ... i.e $self.Zprice = 'B1' etc .. and maintain values for B1 etc in Vk11 in Va00.

Varient configuration with Material type FERT and HAWA

Hi,
The requirement is for our Finished product and Trading goods, when we craete a sales order system should ask only about the entered material characerstics like color and size.No varient pricing.
And latter in change mode also we can see for which color of the material the sales order was created.
So here my material type are FERT ( item category TAN)and HAWA.(Item Category TAN)
So my question is can i achive it through Varient Configuration.What i know we can create it with KMAT and Irem category group 002.
Is it mandatory to have pricing in Varient configuration?Can we know in invoice and sales order for which color and size of the material the sales order was created?

As per your two questions:

No, its not mandatory to have pricing in variant config. You can create for colour and size only.
2)Can we know in invoice and sales order for which color and size of the material the sales order was created?
You can check the color and size in sales order but not in invoice.

Interface Design- Varient Configuration

I did not understand why we define Interface design while creating the configuration profile
and how this is going to help.

see SAP Help:
Interface Design - Overview - Variant Configuration (LO-VC) - SAP Library
The benefit to create an interface design is the user interface of CU50 or MM02 etc.
You can group your characteristics e.g. according to marketing/engineering/manufacturing and then all the responsible people can have their own set as a separate tab in CU50 when doing the configuration simulation.
You can also use buttons to use different functions of VC.

Variant Configuration : You do not need to create a separate material for each variant of a product in your company. You can use one configurable material to cover all variants. You create a super BOM and a super routing for this material, containing all the components and operations for producing all variants of the product.
Super BOM : The bill of material (BOM) of a configurable material contains all the components that are required to manufacture the material. The BOM contains components that are only used in specific variants (variant parts), as well as components that are used in all variants (non-variable parts).
<b>This is why BOMs for configurable materials are known as super BOMs.</b>

WHER I SEE THE STOCK IN VARIENT CONFIGURATION

It is not possible to maintain the stock for variant configuration materials. This is purely MTO scenario.

BOM explosion in sales order in variant configuration?

Hi All,
After searching all threads iam posting this .
My requirement is
In sales order the material(ZDESKTOP) which has been created in KMAT with item caragery gruop 0002(Configuration) has compenents like PROCESSESOR,DRIVE,KEYBOARD,STORAGE,MEMORY,etc where again each components have 3 varieties(values).while creating sales order the components and picking of values is running well.THE GREEN LIGHT IS ON IN VARIANT CONDITIONS.pricing is picking for variant conditins(values)
These values are stockable items which i created as semifinished.
item catagery TAC is determined.
Now my problem is the values(sub-items) which are attracted pricing should reflect as sub items of ZDESKTOP.
I have created a BOM also for ZDESKTOP.
I HAVE GET ONLY THE PRICED VALUES AS SUB-ITEMS.
HOW TO DO THIS SCENARIO?

check your Item category group in material master , sales org view, if it is 0002 Configuration this material use for varient configuration, but your case it may be LUMF (Structure/mat. below) it used for sub item price.
It is , one of the reason.
