Various disk actions ask for the PW to my encrypted disk image, even though I'm not accessing this. Help
I have a small portion of hy hard drive set aside as an encrypted disk image. Since installing OSX Lion, various actions that dont require access to that disk image (printing to PDF, opening Aperture) ask for the password, and wont do anything til I provide that password. Has anyone else run into this, or more importantly, found a solution?

I purchased Microsoft Office for Mac through the Apple website.. I have downloaded all from the disk into my Mac, no problem with all the other Word etc, but Outlook is asking for the key number: I have put it in but its obviously not the right one...???? unfortunately - you can not. you can't even buy outlook by itself at microsoft's own website.
does it have to be outlook? maybe you can get away with using something else that's outlook compatible.
how about trying Thunderbird for Mac OS?
or maybe you can call apple and let them know you purchase the wrong version - they might give you a break and just pay the difference for the home and business version.

My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange with the same parameters using the web browser.
I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.
Help please!I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general. -
I have moved from Ireland to the USA and now (legally) live in Seattle. When I try to login to the iTunes store here in the USA, I get a message telling me that my Apple ID is only valid for purchases from the Ireland iTunes store. What moron put in a restriction like that? Apple is now telling me that although I can legally move from one country to another and take up residence, I can not travel globally with my Apple ID? What use is having an Apple ID then as I can travel and buy globally with Amazon?
Do NOT create another ID. Change the country of your present ID.

Realize, however, just as you can no longer visit your old public library in Ireland you also no longer have access to the store or your purchases made there. You can continue to use them as they are on your computer now but that makes it all the more important you maintain backups in case of loss. If you upgrade an app I think you will have to pay for it again since you no longer have access to the Irish Store. -
When I updated Firefox to version 32, it started to always show my tabs from the last session when it is started. I tried changing the option "when Firefox starts" to all three of the available choices. None of these changed the behavior. It still opens the tabs that were last opened. I waited for the next release (33.0.3) but the behavior is still the same. I would like Firefox to open to my selected home page.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro.One possibility is that Firefox keeps crashing during shutdown, and so Firefox is recovering from a crash every time. But if you can see that it is shutting down normally in your testing, that probably isn't it.
Sometimes external software will create or update an optional settings file named user.js. For some reason, one of the things that often shows up in there is a preference to restore your previous session just once. However, because Firefox uses user.js to override your normal settings every time it starts, that then turns into a permanent change. Is his Apple ID showing up when you are trying to update Apps? If so, then that means that those apps were purchsed under his ID, and they will be forever tied to that ID. So, to update them, you are either going to need to know his password, or you are going to need to delete them and re-purchase them under your own Apple ID.

My wife and I are using the same apple ID. Up until last week we used to buy an app and pay for it only once, but use it on both devices.
since last week, the app store asks me to pay again for an app i already paid for on one device. On both devices automatic downloads (in settings) is and was always turned off.
what can I do to fix this?Actually no. After installing an app on one device, I used to see an "install" button on the second device (since it's already been paid for). Now i get the full price button on the second device. I didn't want to proceed with the purchase because i didn't want to be billed twice.

[SOLVED] Diablo 2 wont stop asking for the disks
No matter how I try to install Diablo 2, it always asks for the disk even when the disk in in my drive. I have tried installing it on a Windows XP machine, updating to the latest patch, and then moving it to my computer, and I have tried installing from the disks directly. Both times, it asks for either the Diablo 2 install or the Expansion disk.
What is weird is on my previous Arch build with XFCE4, installing with the disks got far enough to the part where you switch disks but I was having problems unmounting them while still keeping the install going. Transferring from the XP machine worked but the game crashed. This is probably due to my winecfg settings. But I'm not sure what I am doing differently this time on KDE.

Installing Photoshop CS4 from original Disk onto my new Macbook Pro. Serial number accepted but now asks for the serial number of a previous version e.g. CS3 which I no longer keep. How do I resolve ?
Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. You can keep trying to restore the device from backup until you remember the password. If you're having trouble, try:
Leaving the password field blank
Your Apple ID password
Your computer account password, if you have one
Email passwords you may have used
Your Wi-Fi network password
Website passwords you may have used
A password for hard-disk encryption software, if you use it

BlackBerry Desktop Keeps Asking for the Password
Alright, well here is the problem. I've connected my father's Bold 9790 device to my laptop with BlackBerry Descktop Installe. However, it will not allow me to proceed with any actions such as the much needed backup feature without entering the password.
Here is the catch, my father kept entering the wrong password on his phone for some reason. I'm not sure why, but he isn't one of the most tech savvy guys out there. He gave it to my little brother since he is (a dumb tryhard, well tech wise lol) and tries to always be the tech hero even when he lacks sufficient knowledge on the situation. I myself don't even own a blackberry, have never used one, but i was aware of the whole 10 attempt thing until the wipe. While he was making the attempts, i was thinking two things at the time. One was that there weren't two many attempts made yet. Two, that maybe after all these years since me learning about it, RIM may have came up with a better and less devastating security feature. Man was I wrong on both of these things. When my little brother gives up and my dad finally decides to give me the phone to figure out the issue. It asks for me to enter blackberry, then after that tells me it was the final attempt before a complete wipe. Had I had just one or two extra chances, i'm pretty positive i could have gotten it unlocked, but it's too late for that.
I have a single shot, and not much else sadly. My first instinct was to obviously back it up. But as you can see, the worst of my fears have been realised seeing as Blackberry Desktop is also asking for the pass stating that it is also the final attempt. Backing up is often a recommended solution i find on these forums, but is Blackberry Desktop usually suppposed to always ask you for the pass before you can even connect to it fully?
So now I'm at a point where i don't know what to do. Are there really no other options? I've heard that there are a few people who have claimed to bypass the security feature, but they've never shared how, and if true, it is also quite complex to figure out.
One further complication is that by default, the keypad for the password enters numbers, but right now it is entering letters by default. His password contains 4 numbers. I've read on forums that if you type in the corresponding letters in place of the numbers, it is actually the correct way to enter it, instead of pressing alt and the corresponding character for the password. Can anyone else confirm this? So if the pass was "2113" would i put in the default "ewwr" instead of pressing alt to type in "2113?

Yes...consider...if the Desktop Software could bypass the device lock security, then someone would have access to all of the data on the BB. The device lock security is intended to keep anyone but the actual user from accessing the information, regardless of method of attempted access. Again...part of that high security thing.

There is no "master", "override", or "bypass" mechanism to get past the user-created device lock password...again, if there were, then the security level of the device would not be as strong as it is. I've no idea what anyone may have claimed elsewhere...but I highly doubt that they are actually successful.
Do note that, if you truly know the password, and can successfully enter it on either interface (the device keyboard or the PC keyboard when prompted), that will reset the counter...the same counter of attempts is used for both. So if you do succeed on one, you will have more chances again on the other.

Maybe...it all depends on what the password actually is. If, when it was created, the proper sequence of using the alt key was not done, then the password may truly not be what it is thought to be.
For instance, if your password is
ab123
and you enter
a > b > ALT > 1 > 2 > 3
the actual result will be
ab1er
You must enter
a > b > ALT > 1 > ALT > 2 > ALT > 3
in order to wind up with ab123. So, in this example, while on the BB keyboard you think you are typing ab123, you are actually typing ab1er.
But no one can tell you what it is...only correctly entering it can reveal what is correct. And, with just the one chance left, the likelihood of success is low.

I updated my mac 10.8 to mavericks but after installation the app store ask for the same software update again..i have a slow connection..i cannot install it again and again..what should i do?
In case you are not aware, Mavericks requires a high speed broadband connection.
