Various results of using CMD-I key combo for get info

I just updated to Snow Leopard from Leopard and I'm pretty baffled by some new behavior.
I'm used to using the key combo CMD-I to pull up the get info dialog so I can change the default app to open the files with.
Every once in a while, when I select a bunch of files and do CMD-I key combo, it opens up many many individual windows. I can't figure out when or why it does this and how to get the get info window so I can change them all to open with Quicktime.
Other times, it does what I expect. It opens up one get info window for all the items so I can change the open with app.
Can anyone explain what's going on and how to get the usual CMD-I back? Thanks,

CMD-Opt-I key combo helps when CMD-I fails, but, I still don't understand what the problem is with CMD-I being inconsistent.
I just did an experiment with some files that I have in iTunes because these are the ones I often need to Get Info to change them to open with Quicktime player.
Example.
Folder 1 has 19 files. CMD-A followed by CMD-I opens up one dialog box "Multiple Item Info". I can change the open with default.
Folder 2 has 4 files. CMD-A followed by CMD-I spawns 4 windows with each files name followed by info, e.g. "Filename1.mp3 Info"
This doesn't make sense.

I want to setup an XI (3.0 on Netweaver04)installation in the way, that ABAP AS and JAVA AS use the same key pair for SSL. My problem is to define the same private key on ABAP and JAVA. With the JAVA Administrator I am able to define or import a private key. But I could not find a possibility in ABAP to manage private keys in order to use the same on as in JAVA. What is the procedure for this?

KCN1 for Customer related.

Key combos to get it to boot up

Having trouble booting up my old G5. If I'm lucky, I can hold down the 'C' while pushing the power button and it may or may not boot after several tries. Using tiger 10.5 (?) Can't remember the exact version because it isn't booting up anymore. Last time it did there was no keyboard/mouse recognition. Is there any key combo to try other than the 'C'?

Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

Key combo for Greater Than or Equal To?

Hi all,
The key combination for the Greater Than or Equal To sign is option+>, and for Less Than or Equal To is option+>. When I use these combos I get ligatures, ffl and ffi respectively. I need the mathematical symbols. How do I make the symbols and not the ligatures appear?

Is there a function that uses Get_DAQ_Device_Info - device_type_code to get info on the hardware characteristics such as a list of available gains or A/D converter resolution?

When calling Get_DAQ_Device_Info we get most of the information for our board. For example: the base address, calibration status, counter type, serial number, device type code, DMA and Interrupt levels, etc.
At this moment we do not have any function that will let us know the number of channels of a certain device and the configuration mode supported by the board.
However, you can use the Init_DA_Boards to retrieve what type of board is installed on the machine at a given time, and to have a look up table with the available gains for the possible boards that can be used on your application.

Defining a key combo for backslash

I have a MacBook with a German keyboard, but need to use Linux and Windows computers as well. On the Mac, I need to press Alt-Shift-7 to type a backslash, which is rather annoying because on standard German keyboards the combination is AltGr-ß and I need it a lot.
Is there a way to define another key combination (e.g. Apple-ß) for it?
(Switching the whole keyboard locale to English is not an option because the keyboard layout is different and I need the German characters.)

Two options:
1. Use a keyboard remapping tool as mentioned by Niel.
2. Download Peter Maurer's Textexpander (former Textpander). It will automatically insert text snippets as you type the corresponding abbreviation. "ßß" for \ if you like. Great for frequently used html snippets as well. i.e.: [ url= ][ \url ], [ b ][ /b ]
It used to be donation ware until it was purchased by SmileOnMyMac, yet US $30 are reasonable considering how much time it'll save you everyday.

Yep. For all us spreadsheet geeks, this is a real sinker. Anyway, here's my workaround. Not free, unfortunately. I have a macro program called QuicKeys installed on my Mac that I've used for countless years, and which I highly recommend for other reasons. Anyway, one of QuicKeys' many features is simulating a scroll wheel using the keyboard. I have it simulating a cell-by-cell scroll using cmd-arrow keys. The only drawback is that I have to release the cmd key each time I want to move another cell.

To get the Workflow status using the Object Key

Hi Experts,
Do we have any transaction code or a Standard table where I can see the status of the Workflow using the Object Key.
For example I have an Invoice Document number for which a Workflow has been triggered and now I want to see the which workflow has been triggered and what is the status for the same. I have only the Invoice Document Number.
I think I can use the SWI1, SWEL etc but I don't have Object key as Input field.

Hi,
You can find the workitem id in table SWW_WI2OBJ.
Here you need to pass the invoice number in "Instacne ID" with leading zeros, business object in Object type.
This may take little bit longer time.
After getting the workitem number then look into table SWWWIHEAD for the workitem status.

Why do I have to use the tab key even more to tab between page elements.

Firefox versions prior to ver 4 I used the tab key to tab between page elements (form elements, buttons, etc). I upgraded to ver 4 and now when I tab from form element to form element I first see a gray line outlining the element area and then another press of the tab the element becomes active for me to use. I now have to use double the tab keys to move between form elements.

Firefox won't let me use the shift key

Hi
Basically when I try and use the shift key I keep getting this bar come up on the bottom of my screen and begins typing my text in there. Even when I close the bar and press the shift key again it still appears; I'm not sure how I can stop it from happening or how to disable it. It's getting frustrating not being able to type properly- I have to use the caps lock key for capitals.
Can someone please help me out?

hello Sab01, your screenshot shows the firefox developer toolbar which can be brought up with the keyboard shortcut shift+f2. so this is just a guess, but maybe your keyboard's f2 key is hanging...
in case you cannot solve it that way, please enter '''about:config''' into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''devtools.toolbar.enabled''' - double-click the entry and toggle its value to '''false'''. this will generally disable the developer toolbar after you restart the browser.

When I use the arrow keys in firefox to go forward and back, the cursor erases tiny bits of the letters.

Even within this text field as I type, all is normal, but backspacing using the arrow keys (and then also forward spacing using the arrow keys as I return to typing) erases bits of the text. Once I begin typing again in this field, the erased components restore to normal. This effect can be captured in a screenshot. Upon closer inspection, there appears to be a second invisible cursor, one full character to the right of the visible cursor. So when arrow backspacing, the invisible cursor trails the visible one, wrecking the text behind. When forward spacing using the arrow keys the text gets wrecked in front of the visible cursor.

I am guilty of not following up. The above solution "appeared" to work for me until I realized that now, the text does not erase bits on the same line as my cursor but erases any text on the line below my cursor... so if I am typing above other text, these semi-invisible marks chop up the text below where I am backspacing. Yes, I know - put this in David Letterman's, "Museum of the hard to believe".

Repricing of Custom Field used in Key combination for Pricing

we have created a custom field and this field is being used in the Key combination for Pricing. For standard fields we all know that the pricing condition is repriced once the value of the key field is changed in the document automatically (not manual update)
The problem with this having the custom field in the Key combination is that when this fiel value is changed in the document the condition is not repriced automatically. We need to Do the price update manually for determining the new condition value.
Request you to help in solving the issue. Do explain the things to be carried out for automatic pricing for the Custom fields added.

I think you have to implement Badi CRM_COND_COM_BADI, update communication structure with updated value from transaction should do reprice.

IPhoto won't let me open it using the option key

When I try to open iphoto with the option key held down I get tne error message "the library is a Time Machine copy and cannot use". The only option I have is to Quit which gives me a viscous circle. How can I change to another library without opening using the option key.

I am not trying to use a library from a Time Machine backup. I have made a library from Time Machine by restoring it and that is the one I want to use.
It had worked just two weeks ago, but now I am getting the error message with only the "QUIT" option and the revolving circle indicating the program is trying but not suceeding.
I believe iPhoto is pointing to the pictures in my user's files - MacSSD/Users/JBL/pictures. I deleted a small iPhoto Library (7.4mb) that had been given a 3/14/14 designation and now there isn't an iphoto library in pictures. I'm not sure how that file got created, but iPhoto started last using the restored library that resides on an external hard drive.
How can I determine where iPhoto is pointing to find the library without opening iPhoto which I can't do because of the circular QUIT option?
Any further help will be most appreciated.
