Vauxhall factory fit & Cullmann Cradle compatibili...

I have a Vectra C with a factory-fitted bluetooth phone base by the armrest (the car came with no cradle). I have a Nokia 6100 and an Audi Cullmann cradle (and the 3x8 rows of contacts line up with the car's 3x10 rows).
The cradle clips in OK but the dashboard still says "No Phone" when I switch on. Does anyone know if the Audi cradle is wired differently to Vauxhall's in which case it won't work? Or how I can get the car to recognise the 6100 using bluetooth without a cradle?
Any help to avoid paying Vauxhall over £100 for a plastic phone holder/charger would be welcomed.

  • N70 / 6680 with Vauxhall Factory Fitted Bluetooth

I ordered a in car blue tooth kit as an factory fitted extra in my new Vauxhall Astra.
Pairing the kit with my N70 was simple, however the system did not read anu of my phones contacts. I also added my old 6310, this this reads all of the contacts, call registers without a problem.
Recently tried adding my 6680 and same as N70, the bluetooth works, but it does not read my phonebook so I have to use the phone to make calls.
Is there any chance that a firmware upgrade will resolve this issue?
    Thanks
    Steve

Just had this response through from Nokia - helpful as ever...
"With regard to your email, Bluetooth devices are not universally compatible due to differences in technical specifications and software platforms. Therefore, a selected range of mobile devices can be used with certain devices. Not all phones would be compatible as the Bluetooth specifications can be different. Even if a connection can be made, there is no guarantee that all functions will be supported due to these differences.
The software update availability is based on many things, including existing Nokia device firmware version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables that your Nokia N95 isn't eligible for updates.
Nokia produces many different variants of each product (for different countries and languages) and not all variants have the latest Nokia device firmware."
Bet we can't get a list of what is compatible with what though!

  • Ford factory fitted Car kit - obselete!

My Car (Ford Focus 21 months old) has a factory fitted Bluetooth car kit with a cradle that provides charging and connection to an external antenna. The cradle (and base unit) is nicely intergrated into the design of the arm rest and central console between the front seats (which is why I specified it). The cradle, which can be replaced, is a Nokia CR-24 designed for a Nokia 6230i. I have a new phone, a Nokia 6233 but I cannot get a replacement cradle (apparently the system is obsolete).
I am currently using a charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter - I would like a tidier solution.
    Can anybody help?
    1. Is there a third party cradle that will fit into the base unit?
    2. Is there an adapter cable that can be plugged into the base unit or the cradle to provide a connection to the 6233 for charging and antenna connection?
    3. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Holder CR-56 is specially designed for the 6233 (http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/product.aspx?sku=3607484&culture=en-GB) and is still available.

just get one of those clear protective cover, like invisishield i think its called. it fits over the whole front, back and even the sides. you can even still use cases over that. if you have to send it in for service, you can take it off and it cleans off really well.

  • 5800 has poor reception through Nissan Factory fit...

    Hi All
Have just upgraded from N95 to 5800, and am generally pleased with the phone.
Sadly, the phone has a very poor connection through my Nissan Navaras Bluetooth Hands free.  My old N95 connected fine, with crisp sound etc.
The 5800 however is realy poor, and pretty much unusable on the hands free.
It pairs up fine etc, but thats about all.  The car is a Nissan Navara, and the Bluetooth is in-built as part of the Sat Nav.
Any tips or ideas to sort this out?? - If not, the phone is going back.
    Hope you can help

    Hi rhys9918
Unfortunately your 5800XM is probably too new for the vehicle and it is quite difficult for car manufacturer's to play catch up; the specification of Navara was signed off quite a while ago and I am pleasantly surprised that N95 has performed well with it!

  • Connecting Blackberry to factory fitted VW Touareg handsfree

I am really struggling to get my 8900 to work on my new Touareg - it pairs up and sometimes connects but it will not accept my contacts dispite the Blackberry confirming they have been sent. There must be a simple solution - can anyone help?
    Many thanks

Can you try play a song first on the iPod, then connect it to the Touareg audio,  while playing the song.
What is your iPod firmware version?

  • How to fit 5110 into car cradle in '01 Mercedes Be...

I've just bought a secondhand '01 MB E320 which the owners manual tells me is set-up to take a Nokia 5110 so that hands free calls can be made via the in built Sat Nav system. I purchased a Nokia 5110 on eBay, it perfectly
matches the pictures in the MB owners manual, the ID in the back of the phone (under the battery) verifies that it is indeed a model 5110.
Problem: The phone won't fit the cradle:
The connector pins match, the shape of the cradle recess is the same as the phone, but the stubby ariel prevents the top end of the phone from sitting down into the cradle recess. I've confirmed the car hasn't been modified, it's the original phone cradle that was put into the car at build !
    Any suggestions on a remedy?

    Hi naida
I wonder whether as factory fitted cradle utilizes inbuilt antemma on the car instead of the phone's stub aerial.
At the back of the 5110 below the antenna there is a connector for an external antenna. The connector may be protected by a rubber cap. If it is, first remove the cap before inserting phone in car cradle.
Please see page 31 of the user manual.

  • Nokia 6230 in-car cradle - any others fit?

I have bought a new car which has a pro fitted in car system for a Nokia 6230. Does anyone know if any other phone will fit this cradle??

If you look at this link to the accesories page you find the compatable phones, this is for the Nokia mbc-15s cradle, if you cradle is supplied by vehicle manufacturer then this info may differ.

  • Nokia 6230i Ford Car kit cradle

I have a Ford factory fitted car kit that is part of my dvd touch screen sat nav system. I have a Nokia 6230i and it was recently stolen from my car along with the cradle. I bought a new 6230i and a new cradle from Ford but when I install it in the cradle it says enhancement not supported. The Ford dealer that supplied the cradle have tried several different cradles and have now told me that the one I have is for a 6230 and that Ford do not make one for the 6230i. But my original one worked so they must do! Does anyone have one that works? And if so can they tell me the part number?

Sorry Dannyboy, but that won't work.
You have the correct cradle for the 6230i and it will work even with the newest software released some days ago.(v3.89)
"Enhancement not supported" is an indication for a problem with the ACI-Chip in the car's phone module (Accessory Control Interface-Chip).
So there is a problem in the Nokia handsfree module.
Unfortunately, there is no other possibility than going to your local Ford dealer and letting the "BT/VC" module replace.
This error is known at all Ford hotlines and it should be no problem for your dealer to clarify this.
    Best Regards

  • Car Cradle for Nokia 8800

Does anyone know when the car cradle is being released for the Nokia 8800 to suit an Audi S4 Cabriolet ??

If you have the car kit factory fitted by Audi then this is an issue for Audi. If you have a Nokia car kit fitted as an aftemarket product then only Nokia can answer the question. My opinon is that they probably wont make a cradle for this phone because it is a designer phone not a common use phone. The 8800 dose have bluetooth connection available if thats any good to you.

  • In car phone cradle

can anyone inform how to find the model number for a phone cradle or how I find whch phone fits the cradle I have installed in my jaguar please?

    Hi dobie
Looks like a cradle for the old faithful Nokia 6310i which has a rubber plug to remove to expose the antenna connection at opposite end of phone to the base connector.

  • Lumia 610 "factory" screen film/protector ?

    Simple question for everyone..
Does the 610 come with a "factory fitted" film/protector over the screen ?

    paulheu wrote:
Maybe you can explain to us why this seems to be such a big issue for you?
The protective film on a new phone usually has a silverish corner where you start pulling it off..
From what ive seen of unboxing/reviews I could not see the "trademark" gold triagle that nokia puts in the corner of its factory films. So I figured I would ask here as someone may have opened a 610 recantly around here and remebered or not if there was one prehaps.
I dont assume that all devices with screens have a factory film as for instance the PSP does not and this has actuly been an issue for me in terms of scraches out of the box and Sony claiming it did have a film and therefore refuseing to replace the unit. Also it simply makes it easier to handle, set up and test the phone before applying a proper screen protector. And makes appling the proper one easier as less cleaning needed before putting it on to avoid bubbles etc.

  • How can i get my car to change the track when i am listening to the music on my phone through the line-in?

how can i get my car to change the track when i am listening to the music on my phone through the line-in? is there a app i can download so it will recognize it? i have a vauxhal astra and the controls are on the steering wheel

First question is how old is Astra and you are in UK ( well you must be to have a Vauxhall)
Normally the Radio only has a line in socket  to allow sound
You have two choices here either a simple cable with a 3.5mm Headphone plus at each end
or a cable with the headphone plug to place in car's line in plug and a wide Apple socket to fit the base of your iPhone This allegedly gives better sound but  you have to control the iPhone for music selection
The equipment you need to control the iPhone from the Steering Wheel controls ,which I suspect currently handles radio /Cd  tracks /stations ,is much more complicated it will have to be integrate with the Factory Fitted  radio
and designed to manage the S/Wheel  controls and translate to the iPhone .
Fitted into back of radio etc etc
If car is a recent Vauxhall there may be a kit available from them .but will not be cheap
Many imponderables you did not give much away in your OP

  • IPhone 4s little advise needed.

Hi everyone, I have an Audi TT which has a factory fitted iPhone 4 cradle, what I need to know if possible, will the iPhone 4s still work in the iphone 4 cradle or will I need to buy a new one for the 4s?
    Thanks
    Rod

The only external physical difference betwwen the 4 and 4S is the buttons on the 4S are positioned like the CDMA (Verizon) iPhone 4.  The postion of the volume and mute switch vary only slightly from the GSM iPhone 4.  So, I would say that the iPhone 4S should fit the iPhone 4 cradle.
