VBFA index in sender/receiver system
Experts,
I'm looking through the operations guide for TDMS and notes related to peformance , Note 1256679 - Long runtime in VBUK_2 if VBELN in table VBFA has no index specifically says:
Create index on table VBFA:
ideally, by creating an index as follows:
Mandt
VBELN
VBELV
POSNV
So even though I'm at the latest levels on DMIS:
DMIS 2006_1_700 0013 SAPK-61713INDMIS
DMIS_CNT 2006_1_700 0013 SAPK-61713INDMISCNT
DMIS_BSC 2008_1_700 0005 SAPK-81705INDMISBSC
DMIS_EXT 2007_1_700 0007 SAPK-71707INDMISEXT
DMIS_HR 2008_1_700 0004 SAPK-81704INDMISHR
Do you think this index should be set?
Thanks Nick
Hello NIck,
The Correction of the SAPnote that you mentioned are delivered with the old support packages but the manual steps that is explained regarding the index will still be very helpfull in increasing the performance.

Transporting a Structure: Sending & Receiving Systems Don't Match?
I copied a Z1 structure to a Z5 structure in system A(sending system). Because System B(receiving system) already had a similar structure Z1 I did not want to overwrite. The only difference between both Z1s in system A and system B were some include fields appended at the end of the structure. However, when I transport the copied Z5 from system A to system B, the resulting Z5 structure in system B looks like the Z1 structure in system B that I was trying to avoid overwriting. I transported three different ways so far, as a directory object, table definition, and table. No luck, the Z5 structure keeps wanting to look like the Z1 structure in the receiving system.
Anybody know whats going on?
Thank-You.Hi,
+
B were some include fields appended at the end of the structure.

Have you using Include structure for new fields? If yes whether have you transported this include structure?

Sending & Receiving SO electronically
Hello,
I have one scenario.I will be receiving the customer PO electronically i.e through IDOC. I will make sales order & send the Order confirmation to my customer electronically i.e through IDOC.
Now my question is how to configure inbound & outbound IDOC in the system. As far I know this involves more from technical side but I want to know what are the programs to be used for sending & receiving IDOCs. what is the logic by which one can send & receive IDOCs.Please provide me in detail.
Regards,
Naveed Ansari.Hi there,
To send / receive the IDOCs to / from SAP, you will need to have the partnwer profiles defined in WE20. You will define the sending / receiving systems as partners in WE20.
Then you will define the IDOC message types in WE30. There you can also specify what segmenst you need & what data needs to go in the segments.
Then you will assign the message type to the inbound & outbound paramaters in WE20. Every message type will have a relevant IDOC posting / processing progs. You will have to asign them to the message types.
For eg: When a PO is created, SAP will receive the IDOC from an external system. The IDOC posting prog will be called which will post the information into the SAP application doc. Here PO or SO.
When the sales order is created, the IDOC O/p will be created. The IDOC processing progs will send the IDOC into the partner recciver port. It will call an RFC which will post an application doc into the external system.
All the posting progs are developed by the ABAP. So contact your ABAPer & explain the functionality. But partner profiles are defined by func consultants.

Conversion rule executed in sender and receiver system?
Hello experts,
I want to send an Idoc from one SAP system to another.
Both systems are in the same transport line.
In the sender system I want to execute a field conversion. There
Therefore I maintained BD62 (Define Conversion Rule), BD55 (activate Conversion Rule for Sender/Receiver combination) and BD79 (Specifie Conversion).
The mapping works perfectly.
The creation of the IDoc and the field conversion work perfectly.
But I get an error in the receiver system.
It seems that this system also tries to execute the fieldmapping, because it has the same BD55 (sender/receiver) settings.
The conversion rule itself does not exist in the receiver system, as these settings are not contained in a transport request.
What is the correct way? Can I customize BD55 not to generate a transport request and maintain this setting only in the relevant system?
Or do I need to maintain BD79 and BD62 also manually in the receiver system?
any hints
BarbaraHi Barbara,
you have to maintain BD79 and BD62 manually in all receiver Systems.
Kind regards

In the past three days, whenever I send a message, it does not go through. Instead, I get the message: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 501- "5.1.8 Bad sender's system address". I tried downloading the newest version of Thunderbird but it did not work. I do not receive this message when using other software.
I had the look that you suggested. As far as I can tell there are no problems with the user name. Maybe I should check with my email company, Cogeco?

Sender system and Receiver system
Hi,
I have installed xi on on the server name is XI1 and there is two client 001 and 300. i have created xisuper user on 001. Pls tell me which is sender system or receiver system and xi system.
Please give me some secnario
ThannksHi,
you can Use Either (001 or 300 )one of the client for XI Perspective.
And you can send the data through this Client in Xi to any Application
Example:
if you want to send the data from FTP Server to SAP R/3 (100 Client)means
Here You can use either 001 or 300 client of XI as Middleware to send the data to SAP R/3
in this case
Your sender is the FTP Server(File Adapter)--XI is the Middleware--SAP R/3(100 Client) is the Receiver

IDoc Message Type different in sending to receiver system
Hi,
I am sending DESADV (message type) IDoc to other SAP system. But problem is in other system Message Type DESADV is available in a different name ie DESADV1.
No of segments and their name are same in both the system are same..
In that case if i am sending DESADV from sending system whether receiver system can get IDoc?
Note: In sending system i could not able create message type DESADV1
Sa_R.Hii..
Looking like Strange scenario...
Normally we must have the Same message type in both Sender and Receiver systems.
Bcoz whenever the IDOC is Received in the Receiving system it will process based on the Message type. So the Same message type must exist in the Sender as well as Receiver.
I can think of a Solution: Just try..
In the Sender system Create a Reduced message type (Tcode BD53) Of the Message type DESADV. Select all the Segments and Fields
In the Receiver system also Create a Reduced message type with the Same name as Sender system (Tcode BD53) Of the Message type DESADV1. Select all the Segments and Fields.
Then use this Reduced message type since it exists in both the Systems.

Send/receive IDOCs to SOLMAN system using AS2 protocol!
Hi All,
I want to send/receive IDOC file to/from web based SOLMAN system. Currently I'm using FTP server to send/receive IDOC file.
As of now the current process is to send the IDOCs from ECC to FTP server and from FTP to third party and vice-versa. But due to some constraints, I'm bound to use web based SOLMAN system. Please, can you let me know how to send/receive IDOC files to SOLMAN. Is there standrad FM/method to connect to SOLMAN from ECC as in case of FTP we have FM 'FTP_CONNECT'. Heard that same functionality in case of SOLMAN can be achieved through AS2 protocol.
Kindly help.
Thanks.
Regards,
MukeshHello Patrice
We have same issue. Is it possible to use IDoc (XML) directly with SAP 5.0 with SOAP (HTTP) without XI?
Since your que is three years old, I'm sure you must have found some method for this.
We'll highly appreciate your help.

How to Send One file to different Receiver Systems without using ESR Object
Hi Gurus
I have developed two interafces in my current project and they are both By pass scenarios. My requirement was to Send Data from MDM system to BW system. This development does not involve any ESR objects, By Pass sceanrio.
Now there is the requirement to Send one file or files from MDM system to different BW( two BW systems for different regions)
How can i accomplish this.
here we are not using any ESR Objects, so to maintain any condition in Receiver Determination is not possible.
Please let me know how to do this.
Tahnx in advance.Hi Arjun,
If i understand your situation correctly, You need to define two separate Business Systems/Components in SLD for each BW system.
if you intend to send the file from MDM to both the BW systems, then you need to configure the following:
1. If you want to follow the classical approach (for this by-pass scenario):
a) Two receiver channels - One for each BW system
b) Two receiver agreements for each channel
c) One Receiver determination - with both the receiver systems added as receivers (w/o condition)
d) Two interface determination - Dummy mappings as it is a by-pass scenario
2. If yo want to go ahead with the Integrated Configuration (most preferred in this case):
a) Two receiver channels - One for each BW system
b) One Integrated Configuration Scenario (ICO) with both the receivers configured in Outbound Processing tab
Let us know if you were looking for something else (as your problem statement is not very clear)
Hope this helps.

TDMS - time based reduction - receiver system deletion
Experts,
I'm doing a time based reduction. I'm on the step "Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System". It's been running for over 18hours.
But I don't see any jobs running in SM66 on the Central/Control or Sender or Reciever systems.
When I click on the "Task" button, I see it has completed 8,444 of 12,246 sub activites. There are 3,802 not yet started.
We're on all the latest levels of DMIS and ECC.
Any ideas?
Thanks
NICKAshley and Niraj,
Hey, I'm all for tips/tricks so don't worry about messing up my thread.
I completely shut down the central/control system via stopsap and restarted. Still it was in "running" status but no jobs were running on sender/rec or central/control.
So I tried the trouble-shooting but it was un-clear to me what to do.
I ended up highlighting the phase I reference earlier, then doing "execute" again. The status changes from the "truck" to a green flag and I started to see jobs run again on the receiver system. Again they have stopped, but I see another job scheduled to run in a few minutes....It's just weird, I didn't run into this on my last time-based copy.
I'll post a few things I've learned to increase performance:

Mpi Send / Receive Comm Time with IO Streams
I'm currently benchmarking Mpi like software on a cluster and I ran into a strange discrepency in communication time.
For simplicity here, I'll be referring to simple synchronous send / receive commands in which 8 bytes of data are sent or received during each command.
In a two compartment case, the compartments are connected via a Socket and the input/output streams are pulled from the socket. In the most simple case, compartment 1 sends a double value to compartment 2, and this repeats 1e6 times. In doing this the average communication time per send / receive operation is about 1 microsecond.
In the next more complex case, compartment 1 sends a double value to compartment 2, then compartment 2 sends that double value back to compartment 1.
This is where communication time increases to 10 microseconds (on the same Compute Node) or up to 100 microseconds (inbetween different Copute Nodes).
At first I was doing the send and receive on the same socket using it's input and outputstreams. To make sure that wasn't a bottleneck, I separated the 2way communication into two different sockets, but that large communication time still existed. (No significant change).
With one-way communication, even with the blocking send/receive methods, communication is still remarkebly fast (1 us). So what I'm trying to figure out is: why does this increase 100 times when doing a send & receive, then the reverse operation?Looks like low entropy could be the cause. Here are some useful links:
Re: JDBC Connection Reset when using many processes on 64 bit system
http://serverfault.com/questions/298698/low-entropy-on-centos-5-after-new-mount

http://www.usn-it.de/index.php/2009/02/20/oracle-11g-jdbc-driver-hangs-blocked-by-devrandom-entropy-pool-empty/
How would I set up the server so that rngd feeds /dev/random with entropy from /dev/urandom, such that this modification sticks upon reboot (so I don't need to remember to execute some command line statement upon every reboot)?
