So why does everyone have to give out their serial number?
because we need them to be able to help.

Why doesn't MSI just release a public version?
because there are thousands of vbioses,

    Yes, and it boots instantly.

  • Request UEFI GOP VBIOS for MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC

Hi, I would like an updated GOP compliant BIOS for my card.
    S/N: 602-V284-09SB1207151250
VBIOS download link: http://w ww.sendspace.com/file/4foi53 (take the space out of the www, it wouldn't let me post a link)
Also, If anyone knows anything about this, I heard 6 series chipsets wont do UEFI fast boot via the POST process.  I have a Asus P8Z68-V mobo. So unless I get another board the I'm out of luck for faster post correct? I'll be upgrading soon anyways so at least I'd like my GFX card ready.
    Thanks!

Depends on the Z68 mobo, you have to ask the manufacturer. There are some with UEFI/GOP support also supporting Fastboot and some are even still using a legacy bios (e.g. some Gigabyte boards). You should make sure your board uses a GOP compliant UEFI or legacy bios BEFORE updating the vga to a GOP vbios. Using a board with a not GOP compliant UEFI and a VGA using a UEFI GOP vbios results in the system not posting!
If want to upgrade the card:
    Use the attached.
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html

Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.
