VBScript error with Vista persisting.

I am getting the same VBScript error as others, but the cl fix isn't working for me. Any other solutions? I have an iPhone 4s and would love to be able to add my music etc. Help in time for Christmas?

Unfortunately not. When I ran the fix I retried the add/remove of iTunes but got the same message:
"iTunes could not be installed because Visual Basic Script (VBScript) is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBScript, and then install iTunes."
Is that what we've been trying to do? I don't know how to get into the firewall, script blocking, anti-virus stuff. Do you have pointers on how to do that?
When I went into CL and loaded the modules I got error codes.

After a week and ending up reinstalling vista and itunes I finally got my shuffle to work with itunes....However
I Keep getting this error message up. Itunes and ipod seem to be working fine, just annoying this comes up all the time. If I ask to fix it says there is no problem, and whichever response I give it reappears sporadically, I think every time the shuffle syncs with Itunes. Any ideas?

  • ITunes 7.4.2 Run Error with Vista (insufficient privileges)

Short and sweet. Windows Vista. McAfee Security. User Profile is coded as Adminsistrator and previous iTunes version was working fine.
Loaded 7.4.2 and install registered complete. First time to open the store..rec'd error: "The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file: C;\Program Files\iTunes\About iTunes.rtf." Now..when I click on the actual file, I get "You don't have permission to open file". Yes..I went into the security tab to open the file to all users, and when I clicked the icon again, it showed another file, and another...so on. I certainly do not want to manually edit every single file and when I try to uninstall, I don't have permission to erase the files. Anybody with an idea what I am going through and have a fix?

  • Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected Error with Vista

I cannot play .MOV files successfully without the video pixellating and eventually stopping with a dialog box indicating a C++ Runtime Library message.
Is there a solution for this? Is this a known problem for which no solution exists yet? All the threads I've seen on this topic don't guide me to a solution.

okay, suspicion swings back to the nVidia componentry.
Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows Vista from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player. NVIDIA is investigating the issue.
I went back to reread the iTunes technote. I do not understand why the people that own QT support don't reference this same piece of information since QT is the component clearly impacted. QT as a video player engine is used by both iTunes and Koday EasyShare.
Will just have to wait for nVidia I guess...

  • Weird error with Vista...anyone help with preset error?

Ok, i installed the trial version on Vista...it supposedly installed ok as admin, and it opens fine.
If I start a new project and go to file>transcode>set presets(or whatever that one says to set the presets I click it and get this error [\dev\stingray\Libraries\UIFramework\Src\Window.cpp-247]
    Any thoughts on this?
Then I have to end it. So I restart, then add a video and audio clip put both in a new timeline and then click as above to set new preset and just get the busy signal and says Encore dvd not responding at the top...so I can't get to the transcode presets at all. Any ideas? It appears you folks running it on Vista have never had this error..so wondering why I have it..thanks ahead of time..t

As John says quite rightly, Encore is not supported or qualified for Vista.
Tghis means it might work, but probably not properly, or more likely will not work well at all.
Vista has made some serious changes to the way the OS handles XML files, and this is causing a lot of problems.

    Hi
    Just one tip;
If you need an office application then I recommend OpenOffice.
Its open source software similar to MS Office and you can use and download it for free!
    Back to your Pain issue;
Paint is a part of the OS Windows. Its not possible to uninstall this.
The paint.exe file is placed in c:\windows\system32\ folder
It seems to be an OS error.... possibly the system is muddled up....
try to clean the OS using the CCleaner...
it cleans the registry and maybe it helps to get rid of this error...
otherwise you will need to reinstall the OS...

  • Erroneous "insufficient disk space" error with WaveStudio 7

This has been bugging me for over 2 years. I get the "Insufficient disk space" error with Vista x32 and x64 and now with Windows 7 x64 when I've edited a wav file and then try to save it. I have plenty of disk space.
I've searched till I'm blue in the face but cannot find an answer and am tired of the lame work-around. I know how to copy and paste the entire edited wav into another file and then save it. It's annoying, but it works. What gets me is why is this not fixed?
Running CTWave.exe as administrator does not work. Running in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode does not work.
I have been a faithful Creative Labs user for more years than I care to remember, but this one is shaking my faith. Is there anybody who can explain why this happens, or offer a fix?
Many thanks and keep on rockin',
    Dave

You may wish to try these steps in order to solve your issue:
    1. Make sure your computer has the latest Java runtime. To do this, just google search "Download Java", go to the first URL and download that free software. This step should solve most of the "insufficient disk space" problems.
    2. If step 1 failed to work, you can open "My computer", right click on the hard disk you were trying to write your files into. From the "File System" tab, check to see it's "NTFS" but not "FAT32".
    3. If the above two steps do not work, try creating a new partition from your primary hard disk. To do this, click "Start" -> then right click "My Computer" -> "Manage" -> "Disk Management" -> Make sure you shrink a new volume for at least 50 GB to 100 GB free disk space, again please have the NTFS file system. Once you successfully created this new partition, do a format then try writing your music files onto this Disk.
    4. I think the above 3 steps are able to solve your issue. However, there's a bug I found sometime back when Win 7 first released. You can try creating a "temp" folder in your primary system drive, writing any files in there should have no problem as long as disk space is sufficient.
    5. I certainly do not hope that error was caused by your anti-virus programme, but if all failed, you may want to consider temporarily disable your anti-virus software, and if everything works fine, you might want to switch to a new anti-virus programme.
    Cheers.

  • Vista X64 Drive Management Snap-In Error with SD Cards

I have someone with an W700, 2752-3KG, running Vista X64, raid 1 configuration with factory image. The system also has a VM with XPP X86 in case it proves relevant.
Everything works like a dream, except for one thing which has got us completely stumped. When an SD card is inserted it is recognized as new hardware as expected. There is no autorun, i.e. Open folder / play music window, as this was disabled when the VM was set up. In drive management the SD card will be shown, but alas not assigned a drive letter. Any attempt to assign a drive letter results in the following message; (translated from German to English using translate.google.com)
"The operation could not be completed because the view
of the Disk Management snap-ins is not current. Refresh your view with the
update task. If the problem persists, close the Disk Management snap-in, and
then restart the Disk Management snap-in or the computer."
    [Original screenshot attached 203KB]
The usual routine of updating / rolling back of drivers, uninstalling the hardware etc. etc has been tried to no avail.
The SD cards work fine on other TPs including W700s with Vista X64, X86 and XPP X86, they also work fine on this system when using an USB card reader
What hasn't been tried is running a recovery to another hdd. As the system is used daily this would mean blowing part of a weekend. And if a weekend is going to be partly blown, then I'd rather blow it completely and reinstall everything from scratch which would be a shame because, as previously stated, everything else is running 110%.
Has anyone experienced similar? Any ideas? I've searched MS thoroughly without finding anything
    Thanks in advance

You may want to try a few different SD cards, there are apparently some which do not play well with Vista.

Help! my windows PC with Vista will not dowload itunes 10.7.  It gives me an error message: Your system has not been modified.I
I have tried unistalling the current version I had which was 10.6.3, defragging and running a security scan. Now, the highest version I can get is 10.4.1. for some reason I cannot dowload itunes 10.5 or higher as it gives me the same message which is what I need to connect and update my iphone.  Anyone facing the same issue or can point me in the right direction?

You may get better information on that error message by reposting in the iPhone forums:

It's also possible that newer iPhone updates want an OS higher than Tiger. Post the specs of your computer and we can see if an OS upgrade is possible. There are a large number of G4 variants with different capabilities, so giving us something more than  just "G4" will get you help faster.

  • Tips for blue screen (BSOD) errors with Windows Vista and Intel Turbo Memory on T61/T61p

Important note: The symptoms and solutions described below address only a small subset of the possible causes for blue screen errors, aka BSOD. This information can help address blue screen errors specifically related to Turbo Memory, but may not solve errors related to other issues. Please read through the instructions completely, make sure they apply to your system, and after attempting the solutions please post back with your feedback for the community.
Some users may experience random blue screen errors with ThinkPad
systems running Windows Vista with Intel Turbo Memory hardware. These
blue screens may occur during normal usage on the system or they may
occur when booting into Windows Vista. Blue screens related to the
Intel Turbo Memory hardware may reference a stop code of 8086 with
    memory address locations of {0, 0, 0, 0}.
There are two main steps that you can take to help resolve blue screen issues related to Intel Turbo Memory.
Step 1: Update Intel Turbo Memory Driver
If the driver version is before version 1.0.1.1004-7.0.3.1001, please
    update to this version.
To determine what version of the Intel Turbo Memory driver is installed:
    1.    Click Start, then click Control Panel.
    2.    Click System and Maintenance.
    3.    Click System.
    4.    Click Device Manager.
    5.    Expand the Storage controllers category.
    6.    Double-click Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip.
    7.    Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the driver version (for example, 1.0.1.1004).
The new driver and installation instructions can be found here.
Note: The Intel Matrix Storage Driver is updated with this package.
    Step 2: BIOS version
If your BIOS version is older than those listed below, please update to the version listed.
How to check your BIOS version:
    Turn off the system.
    Turn on the system.
While the To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key.
    The
BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If you have set a supervisor
password, the BIOS Setup Utility menu appears after you enter the
    password.
Check BIOS Version and Embedded Controller Version.
    Turn off the system.
    System BIOS versions:
    ThinkPad T61/T61p (14.1 inch widescreen with IEEE 1394 model) - BIOS version 1.22 (7LET52WW)
    Please
remember that these updates do not solve every possible system blue
screen, but they do resolve several problems related to the Intel Turbo
    Memory driver.

    Thanks Tim,
I do have my T61p fully up-to-date to the latest drivers and updates (via System Update and the Drivers&Software web page when the former is not that up-to-date).
At the moment the most recurrent problem is this:

which has been longly speculated here:

My other angst is the boot-time chkdsk hang-up problem:

I just wonder if this purely a Vista issue when using NV cache, the disk spinning down at almost exactly 1 hour from the beginning of the chdsk operation seems too much of a coincidence.
    This is my T61p configuration:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz

    Dear Tim,
First off, many thanks for the tips for resolving BSOD with Vista + Turbo Memory on X61.  I've been suffering from this BSOD for countless times since I bought in my X61 7673-CW9 in April 2008.
Even prior to having the pleasure to visit this wonderful forum, I followed both steps as indicated, and updated my Intel Turbo Memory driver to 1.5.0.1013 and my BIOS to 7NETB4WW (2.14).  However, the BSOD recurrs.
For the past two months, I've recovered my system to factory default settings using Rescue and Recovery for over twenty times, each time with the latest Intel Turbo Memory driver and BIOS.  Notwithstanding that, BSOD recurrs.
During these painful experiences, I tried two options: 1) making my X61 up-to-date by using System Update and Windows Update (including Vista SP1 or excluding Vista SP1); 2) keeping my X61 the status as factory default (i.e. without updating through either System Update or Windows Update (the automatic/scheduled update function of both is turned off)).  In either case, BSOD recurrs.
I'm 100% positive that the BSOD does not arise from any hardware or software/firmware I install.  I never install any hardware (e.g. RAM).  And, it is not caused by any software/firmware I install: the clear and unequivocal evidence is that at one time,I encountered BSOD while having restored back to factory setting and booting for the first time.
I live in Taiwan, and I seldom heard this BSOD here.  All of my friends (as most of Taiwan residents) using X61 operate in Traditional Chinese environment, whereas I operate in English environment.  In Taiwan, when booting for the first time after purchase/recovery, the Windows Vista Business system provides for lanuage choice (Traditional Chinese or English), and, once chosen, the language cannot be altered later on (unless, of course, the system is restored back to factory default settings).
My system specs are the same as the day I purchased it and are listed below (as I'm not sure if my machine type X61 7673-CW9 is applicable outside Taiwan):
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.4GHz
    Memory: 1.00 G.B.
    System: Windows Vista Business (32-bit)
    Hard Drive: 160 G.B. @ 7,200 r.p.m.
And, of course, with Intel Turbo Memory 1 G.B.
I contacted the Lenovo support staff here in Taiwan for countless times, but they seem to be clueless.  I learned that some friends at this forum downgraded their OS back to Windows XP, but I chose not to.  The reason is simple: my purchase price for X61 7673-CW9 includes the Intel Turbo Memory, which cannot function under Windows XP (at least so far).
Therefore, I just wish to share my experience here and perhaps I can get some advice from you and other friends here.  Any advice will be tremendously and enormously appreciated.

  • Vista and -50 error with 2gen shuffle

    Hello:
I have a new desktop with Vista. My old desktop worked flawlessly with my 2gen shuffle. Now my Vista machine can load itunes 7.02 fine and works fine with my 5gen video ipod. I've had the same problem ordering my upgrade from Moduslink. After typing my adress and form of payment there occured an unresolvable error on the webpage. After that tried to do the same procedure once more, but now there was said that my COA Number is not right. - If there occured an webpage error AFTER you filled in your adress and selected a payment, most of the time you have ordered an upgrade. I received the order number, wich one has to send in to Moduslink from the guy of the support hotline.
    - After you've received the order number, send in your bill (from the seller where you've bought your computer) and that number via E-Mail (the bill should be sent as a pdf-file).
For those who have problems with errors on the Moduslink upgrade webpage there's hope: The guy of the support hotline told me, they have server problems that should be fixed until monday (19.2.2007)... so maybe than the form works allright?!
PS: sorry for my bad english, hope one could understand what I wanted to say...
