VBScript support in Mac OS 10.6

My level of computer ability is a 4.98/5 FYI.
I'm currently taking a required 'scripting w/ database & lab' course in college.
Instead of using a universal language and database like C++/PHP/Java w/ MySQL, they are using VBScript. (the point is to understand scripting not to learn a specific language)
I have to write .vbs scripts with notepad on windows, they run like an executable file though a user transparent vbscript interpreter.
-- If the scripts are run via a command prompt they use the command prompt for user input/output. If they are run like an executable the script processor creates a GUI for input/output coding.
My question is there any way to create .vbs scripts on Mac OS (my preferred OS), this would require a script processor.
--- Lookiing for a solution without BootCamp or Virtual Machines.
I know Mac OS is fully UNIX compatible, and can run linux, and linux GUI software with X11.
I'm wondering if there is a Mac OS X program that allows me to write vbscript code and run it and run it in a GUI fashion instead of a command line fashion (but command line is better than nothing if so possible).
-- Is there is a linux solution that has been ported to Darwin which would allow me to run simple vbscripts with X11 or native Mac OS which allow for executeable like runtime with GUIs for input/output instead of terminal input/output? (regardless of the code, a vbscript ran from a terminal uses the terminal for input/output, if ran like an executable the script processor creates a GUI window when input/output code is interpreted (at least in Windows).

In the short: No.
Why: It's a Microsoft-only-thing. And even there it's a dead horse.

  • Native signing not supported on mac!!

    To sign both the installer and its executable we're using Thawte and Comodo certificates. For MacOS we've Thawte and Apple. This following command builds a proper signed installer version (along with its executable .exe) with the combination of both the certificates, in Windows:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx -target native -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi

    When running the same command to compile a .dmg file - ADT reported an error:
    Native signing not supported on mac
    I'm not sure if the adt doesn't has the ability to do such process in MacOS unlike Windows! Any idea?

    Thanks for commenting. But that 'solution' already tested and its found not true with recent AIR SDK version.
    If you do this:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi -target native
    You'll have compiler error:
    "-storetype already specified", and you can see why in the command
    If you do this:
    adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx native -storetype pkcs12 -keystore myCert.pfx myApp.exe myApp.airi -target
    You'll again have compiler error:
    "not enough argument"
    I don't think this have a fix yet.

    I'm using Flash Builder 4.7.(Air 3.7) The iOS SDK path has been set. I've tried to just ignore the error and just apply settings but this causes and error. I'm having the problem with all ANE files. The Target is showing up as Google and iOS so I'm not sure why it thinks I'm trying to run on the desktop.

    Created a new mobile project and still getting the same problem. I think it's a Flash Builder 4.7 issue.

    "Wheel of Fortune" on TV advertises scrabblecubes.com where we can supposedly play a word game by that name. At the site, operated by worldwinner.com, we learn that the games only support windoze with explorer. I went to the site of each of the 7 advertisers at the bottom of the page and emailed them that I was disappointed that they did not support the Mac.
    We need to let people know that we care.

    WorldWinner games use Active-X components that only work with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 and higher on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system.
    What they are saying is that they download a pc program to play the game. This is a total security hole.! One should be glad that mac os x doesn't support Active-X which means you don't have to buy a virus checking program.
    You can run Windows on a new Mac.

    I believe if you were to ask Adobe Support they would tell you that CS3 is no longer supported by their services, if that is what you are refering to when you say "being supported".  That means they are not likely to offer assistance with you re-establishing it.
    But you can probably re-establish it yourself.  If you need to download it there is a place for that available:
    You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
    Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

    Yes, call Apple and buy a copy of Leopard (10.5.x). Snow Leopard (10.6.x) only runs on Intel, Leopard does run on PowerPC.

    If the OP is asking a generic question about how to run a CD-ROM, DVD or other disc that had an executable program that was a PowerPC application, he would either have to:
    1.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into a partition on his hard drive or an an external hard drive, for "dual-booting" if his Mac will still boot into SL; or
    2.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels to run his disc in Mt. Lion:

    The mac version of PSE has never had the slide show editor nor watched folders. There was a kind of a sort of a slideshow in some mac versions, but it was basically just a multi-page pdf.
