Vbscripts: Remote Desktop Disconnected Windows XP SP2

When I in the office. I can remote to server 2000 with URL is: http://204.72.x.x:8080/tsweb/default.htm. But when I at home, I am getting an error: vbscripts: remote desktop disconnected. Please some one let me know why. Please advice. Note: I have proxy server at work.

I'm not sure if Apple Remote can, but
Microsoft offers a free program called Remote Desktop Connection so you can do just that.

  • Remote Desktop disconnected because of security error from Windows 8.1 Surface to Server 2008

    Hello,
    I am trying
to connect to a remote app on a 2008 server from a surface pro 3 with 8.1
through Netilla SSL VPN and I getting the following error message.
    Remote Desktop Disconnected
Because of a security error, the client could not connect to the remote computer Verify that you are logged on to the network and then try connection again
if I am connected to the network and use the RDP file, it connects fine.
    This
was previosluly working, but when I changed the terminal server to per user
license mode from trial mode this happen
This works fine from Windows 7 machines.<o:p></o:p>
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error itself it seems that there is some network connection issue with VPN. Kindly see that you get network when you are using VPN connection, also VPN must be running. You can also try to “ping” the remote computer and see whether there is successful
    ping result.
Also try to use “Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop” option on server side and check whether you can remote desktop successfully.
Apart this issue can also be caused due to certificate as VPN can’t resolve the certificate properly and facing this issue because you are facing issue only with usage of VPN (as you have commented). Please check
    this link for detail.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Ctrl+Alt+End in Remote Desktop Running Windows XP with VMWare Fusion

I am using remote desktop on Windows XP in a VMWare virtual machine on my MacBook Pro. When the remote computer I'm connecting to times out and locks the screen, I need to send ctrlaltend to get back to the login dialog to unlock the screen (ctrlaltdel gets processed by the local windows box and never passed through so ctrlaltend is the appropriate sequence in remote desktop). Only one problem ... my MacBook Pro keyboard doesn't have an End key (or any other key that maps to it as far as I can tell) ... neither does the bluetooth wireless keyboard I use. So how do I send ctrlaltend? Anybody else run into this and find a satisfactory solution short of disconnecting remote desktop and logging in all over again?

That's weird.. I use RDC on my Vista's VM all the time and Ive never encountered this issue.
Try running the RDC in full screen, so that the Ctrl-Alt-Del will go to the RDC.
You can close the RDC window, and change the Options "Send Windows Combination Key" either to the RDC or the VM, or while the RDC in full screen.

  • Remote Desktop disconnect frequently and reconnects

I have been using remote desktop with Windows 7 and never had an issue. I recently received a Windows 8.1 computer and now Remote Desktop is able to connect, but it will then disconnect for no reason and then reconnect.  There are days when I don't
have an issue, and then there are days it will continue to do it. I am using VPN to connect in. Any suggestions.
    Thanks

  • Remote desktop to windows using vpn

I am unable to remote desktop my window based office pc from my mac book pro using VPN.
I even tried to install rdp , but no luck. Please respond asap.Thanks.

Try TSclientX. I got so sick and tired of MS RDP and the license crap. I mean, it comes bundled with Office, and still stops working every few weeks.
    TSclientX  just works.

  • Remote Desktop disconnects immediately. Error 4005; Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated.

Hi, I have always been able to remote into my pc (Win 8.1) using remote desktop. Just recently this stopped working. Either I get a blank screen for about 10 seconds and then it closes or the connection closes immediately. Every time this happens I get error
4005 in the event log; Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated. It seems the remote desktop stopped working after the last set of Windows updates were applied. But no other web searches indicates anyone else has had this problem recently. I've also
read the Windows Server document or error 4005 which suggests my registry may be corrupt or a service may be stopped but this does not seem to apply to my situation. I'm stumped and without being able to remote into my pc from my office I can't do my job.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: After installing a new required Windows update and a bunch of optional Windows updates (that I had been ignoring), the problem has been fixed. I'm guessing which ever Windows update broke Remote Desktop was fixed in the latest update(s).

    Hi arzoo1,
So you have checked the steps mentioned in the article below?
Event ID 4005 — Windows Logon Availability
You may take a try with Dism /online /cleanup-image /resorehealth command and then check if issue insists.
For Windows Update related, please consider system restore or startup repair.
Try to boot into clean boot and then remote again to check if issue insists.

  • Remote Desktop Mac/Windows

Hello, i have an ethernet cable between my Powermac and my Compaq Presario (running XP Home SP2) anyway, i want to use remote desktop of some sort, so i can use my compaq, without having to switch monitor cables, keyboard etc. (dont' tell me to buy a KVM switch) i have been searching and haven't found anything yet.

    Ze,
Windows XP Home edition does not have the remote desktop server built in. As a result you can set up a VNC server on your windows machine. This will allow you to remote into it.

  • Windows XP see blank screen when remote desktop to Windows 7 with fast user switching disabled

All computers are in workgroup environment, no AD.
Windows 7 pro are configured with fast user switching mode disabled so that only one login session can run at a time. When a Windows 7 machine remote desktop to another Windows 7 machine, the remote desktop 'server' will give 30 seconds count-down for the
console logged in user to accept remote connection, or when timeout expires it kicks out the console logged in user. This is completely ok.
This become a problem when a Windows XP rd client try to remote desktop to these Windows 7 machines, Windows XP see a blank screen if the remote Windows 7 machine has a user logged in, as it is waiting for the user to log off first. This is not desirable
as our administrators want the console session to be logged out automatically if they (administrators) want to remote desktop in.
Is this a configuration problem? Is this a OS design, can't be changed?
Valuable skills are not learned, learned skills aren't valuable.

    Hi,
As I know, for RDP session in Windows 7, you don't need to configure the fast user switch option disabled. Windows 7 doesn’t support multiple Remote Desktop sessions by design, that means only one RDP session at a time.
I remote into my Windows 7 machine (which has a user logged in) from my XP machine, all work fine, the user logged in Windows 7 machine is automatically "kicked off".
May I ask a question? Does this issue happen in all XP machines? If you leave Windows 7 machine started and no user logged in, the RDP session in Windows XP established quickly?
I would suggest you keep latest drivers graphic card and latest updates paches for both Windows XP (Windows XP has come to its end of the lifecycle)and Windows 7.

  • Remote Desktop to Windows 8 (in Azure) using a Windows Live Account

This took me a while to find this answer so posting it again in case it help anybody and also perhaps somebody has a suggestion of a better way to do it.
I spun up a Windows 8 Pro VM in Azure (using MSDN subscription) which gives me a local account to access it with via RDP. No problems there.
I want to use a Microsoft Account on this VM instead of a local account however, because I want to sync my OneDrive (reason: I have a lot of data in the Cloud via backup programs like Carbonite and CrashPlan  that I want to move to my OneDrive as it
has unlimited space now, but don't want to use home or work network for that move as it will take months to move it all about. Cloud-to-Cloud initial data move seemed like it would be quicker hence I am doing it in Azure.)
I can't use OneDrive with the local account no matter what I tried so I had to log in as a Microsoft account.
I tried adding my Microsoft Account to this VM, making it Administrator and then switching the local account to that one but this process failed (even tried different accounts, one without 2-factor auth. enabled: nothing.)
I also tried RDPin in using the MicrosoftAccount\[email protected] rather than convert or link the local account but that didn't work either. "Your credentials didn't work." Even trying with just the email address didn't work. Nor did using
an app password (I have 2-factor enabled of course.)
The only way I was able to log in was to:
Under System properties of the Windows 8 Pro VM, under Remote tab uncheck "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication"
I follered these instructions to create and edit an RDP file on my local pc:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941641
Once I connected from my local pc with the modified RDP file to the Windows 8 Pro VM in Azure, I was prompted for the user to log in as by the VM, allowing me to select the Microsoft Account I had previously added instead of the local account which looked
the same as if you do it physically at the machine. This had not happened before and once I did, everything was fine after that :-)

    Hi,
Please use the original RDP file in another computer and install the certificate. And then use the new RDP for test

  • Remote Desktop and Windows 8.1

I may not have this in the correct form area, and if so, I apologize.
I have Windows Sever 2012 datacenter running and until about a week ago, from my Windows 8.1 (with Update), I could remote into the unit with remote desktop connection.
Now, when I try the window pops up that a session on my computer is already in progress (the Windows 8.1 says this).
I can remote ok from the 8.1 to other servers and other PCs.
I can remote from other PCs into the Server 2012.
I can EVEN remote into the Server 2012 from the 8.1, BUT I have to use the IP address of the server in the remote connection box.
Same subnet, same domain.  Worked fine until about two weeks ago and started after no updates or such.  Can ping to and from both units by both name and IP with no issue.
    Please advise and thank you!

  • HELP - Remote Desktop and Windows? Is it possible? I need your thoughts...

I am currently trying to set up a connection between my MacBook and my Windows XP PC. I have Leopard 10.5.3 and Windows XP. I want to set up the connection to my PC so I can use my Remote Desktop to control/observe/receive files from my PC to my MacBook. So far its been going well, I was searching on Google for some answers, and I read something about VNC Viewer and Remote Desktop. I am not sure how this works but I just want Remote Desktop to work with my PC. So I was just wondering if anyone here can help me out, or if anyone here has any suggestions/ideas. Thanks.

You've probably figured this out by now, but you can't use Remote Desktop with XP Home. It only works with XP Pro. As a free alternative, you should be able to run a VNC server on the XP machine, and a VNC client on the Mac, and access that way. A brief decription can be found here: http://lifehacker.com/software/feature/geek-to-live--how-to-control-your-home-co mputer-from-anywhere-125607.php (Ignore the parts about opening ports on your router to the internet--this is best used only on local network, unless you get more complicated.) If you do want access over the net, perhaps its better to go with a commercial service such as pcAnywhere or GoToMyPC is an easier route.

  • Remote Desktop To Windows Server Very Slow

I have OS X 10.6 running on a MBP and a problem that seems to be growing worse over time. I am using Remote Desktop (both CoRD and Microsoft Remote Desktop) to gain access to remote servers. One is a Windows Server 2008, the others are Windows Server 2003. Initially all was fine, but over the last 2 months access to the W2K server has crawled to a halt. Now, when accessing the other servers I'm having the same issue. I have tried different clients for remote access, used different high speed Internet connections (FIOS, a private network) and the result is the same. Very, very slow connections.
I have also tried using a different login on the laptop to no avail.
I booted Windows on my MBP using Parralels Desktop and tried using Windows RDC to the same servers; that works fine. In fact, I can access the servers very quickly using my iPhone's Remote Access software using the same Internet connection (home WiFi) as my MacBook Pro.
So I can only assume it's an issue with OS X 10.6, since different devices using the same Internet connection can make a much faster connection. But I can't find any similar posts on the issue.
    Any ideas are appreciated!
