VC atm

i have a connexion ADSL over ATM .
I want to use free ATM VC on ADSL to make private network
my question :
if use one VC , it 'is every body can connected to my privat network.
if yes , how can i secure my network
keep in touch
pmc

From what I understand from your question, you want to use a free VC to connect to a private network and at the same time secure your network form outsiders. Since the ATM VCs are switched from your site to another site to which you desire, other networks cannot reach your network through this VC. However, if you want to protect your network, you can always use traffic
filtering/firewalls at your site.

  • Providing DRC solution for ATMs in the enterprise network

    Hi all,
I am looking for ideas on how to provide a Disaster Recovery solution for thousands of ATMs (Automated Teller Machine) deployed in the bank enterprise network. The solution should consider
    the following facts:-
1.- Having the ATMs switch the connection to the Server at DRC shouldn't be automatic. This situation might last for the next few years until DRC becomes mirror image of primary data center.
2.- The ATM servers at the primary and disaster recovery center is single server equipped with high availability (Tandem). I mean to say, there is no SLBs invloved in the connection
3.- The application running on the ATMs is calling the ATM Server by hardcoded IP address in the application. The bank is willing to visit the ATMs to change once and forever.
I see source natting as the most appropriate solution, however your opanion and expertise are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sami

    Sami,
what kind of solution are you looking for ?
Is the concern the connection from ATM to central location ?
Or is it a concern about the server at the central location ?
For connection issues, I don't see any other solution than providing multiple lines.
If the concern is the single server, you could have a loadbalancer somewhere in your network.
The loadbalancer can use probes to check the health of the server.
If the primary fails, or is unreachable, you can automatically redirect the traffic to the standby.
ATM machines will point to the virtual ip (you could reuse the current ip and assign a new one to the servers).
Not sure where to place the loadbalancer without a better idea of the problem to solve and the network.
    Gilles.

This is easily done with dial peer statements . The dial peer in your originating router must route the calls to the terminating router first. That would look like :
dial-peer voice xxxxx voip ( the xxxxx is just a tag)
destination-pattern 45... (that would route any 5-digit calls beginning with 45)
session-target ipv4:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ip address of the terminating router)
If digitones are to be dialed after the connection is established, use the statement:
    dtmf-relay-h.245-alphanumeric
You could also use a statement to specify the codec to be used:
    codec g711ulaw
You would need multiple voip dial peers if the calls were going to different routers based on the dialed digits. If all calls are sent to the same terminating router, use all wild cards in the dest-pattern statement.
At the terminating router configure pots dial peers:
    dial-peer voice xxxxx pots
    dest-pattern 45...
port x/x (whichever port the call is to be terminated on)
prefix 45 (this re-inserts matched digits which are stripped off by the pots dp)
Repeat for other ports which will receive calls.

I have a £50 gift voucher and I tried to buy something with it, but it tells me there was a billing problem with a previous purchase and makes me put in my debit card details. My debit card has no money atm, can't I just pay with my voucher for the things that have a billing problem? I tried to put my voucher code in again but it won't let me do that.

If the amount of the purchase is close to $21.07, then you need to take into account taxes may be added.
If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.

  • Need suggestion whether to use ATM or MPLS in DSL implementation

Presently i am working in ISP, and we are providing internet access via simple dialup, ISDN and IVS. and now we want to implement DSL i ve talk with few peoples regarding whether to use ATM or MPLS in DSL implementation but because they are solution providers so i think they are giving me expensive solution. as long as i know about this is,whole world is shifting from ATM to MPLS Technology. ATM implementation cost is very high. so i need suggestion from u because you also have practical exposure.

I believe ATM is soon getting obsolete...

I have Windows 7 and for some reason I cannot install Adobe Type Manager onto my Computer. I need ATM to install the DIN font but am having no luck what so ever. I can see the DIN font in my Dropbox but it is showing up like this:-  ._DIN-bold, no file file extension. what am I doing wrong? is it Mac?

    (1)    Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
    (2)    There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
    (3)    The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.

  • 64 bit ATM deluxe actually works, you just can't install

I actually could hardly believe it. Is Adobe Really that lazy that they can't just repackage the installer so it will work on a 64bit version of windows? Well, it seems so.
I went to my coworkers computer, who has the same version of the software as me, and simply copied the whole folder from his computer to the (x86) program files folder.
When I tried to run it, the software gave me an error that there was no database in windows, but it let me create one. Everything worked fine.
I added our company font set, and they are working fine in Photoshop and Illustrator. I didn't check AE, Encore, or Premier, but I assume those are fine as well.
So it looks like all you have to do is install it on another 32bit computer, and just copy the files over. Someone should test that on Vista too. I hear it doesn't work in Vista? Just make sure if you install it somewhere else Just to copy it to the licensed version, you uninstall it on that computer after you are finished copying it.
Hopefully Adobe will get their act together and start making these things compatible with an OS they Claim to be obsolete. 80,000 people are at our company and it looks like everyone who uses Photoshop will be converting to XP64 within the next 9 months. Hmm, obsolete? I think they fail to realize that large corporations don't use the newest software, not that their software is Really that compatible with Vista either. lol
Hope this post helped some of you guys. I'm still laughing inside that something so simple worked.

To understand why ATM is no longer supported, you need to understand the history of the product and its original purpose going back to 1989 and the
Font Wars between Adobe on one side, with its Type 1 font technology from PostScript, and a coalition of Apple and Microsoft on the other side with their TrueType font technology developed by Apple but liberally "borrowed" from Imagen, a laser printer company from the 1980s.
The first version of ATM for Macintosh was released in December 1989 strictly to allow host-based copies of Type 1 fonts to be rendered "on-the-fly" for the screen as opposed to the user having to install bitmap versions of such fonts tuned to a particular screen resolution and point size. The Windows version followed within a year or so. Effectively, ATM blunted an attempt by both Apple and Microsoft to put Adobe out of business by locking Type 1 fonts out of the desktop. ATM allowed use of fully-scalable Type 1 technology on both Macintosh and Windows before TrueType was actually available for either Macintosh or Windows. This unholy alliance of Apple and Microsoft also pushed a Microsoft-provided clone of PostScript, TrueImage, licensed from Cal Bauer (that's a separate story but needless to say, that CloneScript was really poor and failed very quickly; Apple came running back to Adobe for Adobe PostScript for their new LaserWriters without ever actually releasing a product based on Microsoft's TrueImage).
Subsequently, Adobe released its Multiple Master variant of Type 1 fonts that provided the facility to vary weights, widths, and other aspects of fonts, generating custom "instances" of fonts to better match the designer's needs. ATM was used to control the building and installation of Multiple Master instances.
Over the years, two additional functions were added to ATM. The more recent was support for OpenType CFF fonts (i.e., OpenType fonts with Type 1 outlines) and in the "Deluxe" version of ATM, a very rudimentary font manager.
Over the years, i.e. by the time Windows 2000 and MacOS X shipped, there original raison d'etre for ATM was gone given that beginning with these OS versions, Type 1 and OpenType CFF font support was now native within the operating system based on Apple and Microsoft individually integrating Adobe code into the operating system. The only purpose left for ATM under Windows 2000 and Windows XP was to support creation and installation of Multiple Master font instances. Given that Adobe stopped developing new Multiple Master fonts back in the late 1990s and shortly thereafter stopped licensing them, the need for Multiple Master support outside of Adobe's applications themselves (which still support existing Multiple Master instances, either those primary instances delivered with the fonts or user-created instances) diminished to next to nothing.
The only function left to ATM was that of
font management, historically the weakest aspect of ATM Deluxe.
Adobe then had to make a decision in terms of the future of ATM. The bottom line was that given the relatively weak font management capabilities of ATM Deluxe - it provided no auto-activation, was based on very ancient code that was incompatible with new OS versions, and was fairly incompatible with Adobe's new applications, Adobe had to measure the cost of developing, marketing, and supporting an advanced, new generation font management program competitive with other products already out in the marketplace performing similar functions. Simply stated, the decision made at the time was that (a) given the cost of developing, marketing, and supporting a new, industrial strength font manager, (b) given existing reasonable quality font managers available from third parties that seemed to meet the market's need, and (c) given what users were actually willing to pay for such software, it was not worth Adobe making the necessary investment to create a "next generation" ATM.
Could that decision be re-evaluated some day? Maybe although it is unlikely that such a re-evaluation will yield a different decision! But for the time being, Adobe Type Manager is a product that is no longer marketed or supported.
Can you coerce ATM Lite or ATM Deluxe to install on 32-bit Windows Vista? Probably. Will it run on Vista? Possibly although we have heard mixed reports and Adobe won't support you if you mess up your system trying to use it. 64-bit Windows (both XP and Vista) is a different story. The ATM installer is a 16-bit program that simply won't run on these 64-bit systems (same is true with the old
Adobe Universal PostScript Printer Driver Installer). Can the ATM code itself run - Andy Engelkemier claims it does, but don't count on it properly interfacing with Adobe Creative Suite applications properly or respecting the multiple user environment. Given that other fairly competent font manager software is readily available at reasonable cost, you should carefully evaluate the value of your time continuing to run an ancient, unsupported, low functionality font manager with no future versus migrating to products are still being developed and supported by their developers.

  • SAP SOLMAN 7.1 error in ATM for DBACOCKPIT

    Hi Experts,
My client's SAP Solution Manager 7.1 has been displaying the error message - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", since last one week. I am unable to analyze this to resolution, as there is nothing I couldn't find closely relative in the standard database SAP Sybase 15.7. ASE server configuration guides or in the SCN itself for that matter, which would help me resolve this bugging error.
I have also checked in system logs but have always found different types/varieties of database errors everyday. I am attaching the error screenshots for your kind reference and consideration. Kindly note that I have worked on most databases previously in an efficient manner except for Sybase ASE, which is relatively new to me.
When I click on repair, I am getting the following error, which my SAP Basis PM/lead has told me its a generic error.
Upon clicking on yes, I am getting the unavoidable error shown below -
The error is - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", as i have stated above.
I have checked the ATM logs and history and they are fine. I am getting error only in the ATM queue as shown below -
I am also getting the same database errors in event viewer as to those in the system logs for SAP SOLMAN 7.1 server.
I would appreciate it very much if one of the Sybase experts would help me out here. Speaking of technical configuration for any database in conceptual terms, I perceive this error to be a space issue as mentioned in the ATM queue. I believe I have provided sufficient details. The OS here is the Windows server 2008 R2 version.
Kindly mention if you need more details for a speedy and possible error analysis and resolution
This is an emergency task for me as I need to resolve it on ASAP basis. Rest assured, points for all right answers will be awarded generously.
    Thanks and regards,
    M. Nizam

  • Acrobat 9 goes blind to Type 1 fonts after ATM 4.1 install?

Acrobat's touch up tool has become unable to handle all Type I fonts, unless I uninstall and then reinstall the fonts in the current Windows session. I'm referring to use of the Touch up Text tool. It still does fine with TT fonts, but any attempt to touch up or add typing of an Adobe Type 1 font produces just small dots.
The problem started after I (probably unwisely) installed my old copy of ATM 4.1 on my Windows Vista System. Seeing that ATM didn't seem to work under Vista, I uninstalled ATM.  However, after that, Acrobat 9.0 seems incabable of editing type 1 fonts, unless I ununstall the specific fonts I want to use in the editing, and then reinstall them. It works fine thereafter, until I shut down the computer and start again. By installing ATM did I damage Acrobat's ability to recognize Type I fonts?
The problem does not occur with any other CS 4 products.

    Michael,
Thank you very much for the fast response and directons to the patch! The patch seems to have fixed the problem. That was a long-running annoyance.
    Best regards,

  • ATM Back bone.Cisco VS Nortel which is better

I have a situation whr i need to connect 7 different sites together with ATM. I have STM 4 as back bone and some place PDH E3 and E1, I am looking at cisco product with following configuration.
    1). 4 XSTM 1
    2). 5 XE3
    3). 8 XE1 Data
    4)9 XE1 Voice.
    5 8 X1000Mbps.
The switch should support 2000 PVC, SVC s
Minimum of 100 Point to Multipoint connections.
I have Nortel 6480 Paasport. But i am looking for cisco products. What do ya suggest from you experince. n what is equvalent of nortel 6480 in cisco.

The reason I asked about buffer size is because I was having a problem with gapless playback. In iTunes I had my tracks all set up for gapless playback and they would play just fine there (seamlessly), but on my iPod I would sometimes get little mini-pauses between tracks when tranistioning from one to the next but others would trnasition just fine --- and on top of that I didn't always get the same result between the same two tracks ! In addition, I would also occaionally get longer pauses in the middle of a track. This would hapeen with both Lossless and WAV formats, and oddly enought it seemd to be more frequent with the Lossless format. I talk with Apple Tech Support about it and asked them if it could be either the cache size or how the cache is being managed internally, and they said no the cache size and how it's managed should be able to account for the extremes of many little tracks being queued up in it vs. only part of one large track being able to fit. Bottom line, they said you should be able to experience gapless playback no matter what the size of your individual tracks are, and the cache should be able to properly manage things. So they seemed to think it was the hard drive itself failing and recommended just swapping out for a new unit since it was in warranty.
I haven't re-loaded my iPod yet since getting the replacement because I was wanting to first find out about the differences between the file formats that I initially asked you all about. I'll let you all know if I experience any more problems with gapless playback on the new unit.

  • Can i buy an app with my atm card?

i want to buy an app. but i don't have a credit card. so i want to use my atm card. but i can't buy.
is that possible, can i use my atm card? or what do i wrong?

Might be a location issue ...
Your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • URL  for IP over ATM

I want to write a java program interacting with IP over ATM network, please can I use URL the same to API for IP, example : openConnection().
    Thanks for all help,
    Abdeltif.

If your code only needs to manipulate IP functions, then the ATM layer should be transparent. The URL class, Socket class, etc. shouldn't care whether the IP is over Frame Relay, ATM, etc. Some ISPs buy ATM connections so your Internet connectivity might be riding over ATM.

  • ATM to Gigabit Ethernet Migration

    Hi,
How do you migrate from ATM to GE running a parallel backbone, from ELAN TO VLANS ?
The ATM switches are Madge switches and the GE switches are 6509s.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paul

An ATM Card in the 6509 would be a good way of doing this, but the BIG problem is that they are very expensive and wouldn't like to suggest that you buy an OC-12 card just for the migration. Maybe you could rent an OC-12 card for the period of the migration - I don't know whether this is possible.
The OC-12 ATM card configuration looks like this:-
    interface ATM0
    atm preferred phy A
    atm pvc 1 0 5 qsaal
    atm pvc 2 0 16 ilmi
    no atm ilmi-keepalive
    interface ATM0.1 multipoint
    lane client ethernet 1 SNMP-ETH1
    interface ATM0.2 multipoint
    lane client ethernet 101 HUMETH1
    interface ATM0.3 multipoint
    lane client ethernet 102 EGEETH1
    interface ATM0.4 multipoint
    lane client ethernet 107 HUMETH2
I'm not sure how you map the ELANs to VLANs in the Madge config. Ours is based on IBM 8265 equipment with an MSS routing module.
    Hope thats of some help.
