PPEM P6 V8.3 integration with BPM 11g

Hi Everyone,
My requirement is to install and integrate oracle Primavera P6 8.3 with oracle Business Process management 11.1.1.6.0 on OEL 5.5.
My Environment:
EPPM Server      : OEL 5.5 32bit
Hostname          :primavera.xxxx.com
Weblogic server URL: http://primavera.xxxx.com:7001/console
BPM Server     : OEL 5.5 32bit

We have installed the BPM 11.1.1.6.0 setup in a weblogic server and the respective weblogic server URL is (http://bpm.xxxx.com:7001/console) and its currently up & running.
In this web logic server we have created a domain with 2 managed server SOA and BAM. Please find the below details,
bam_server soa_server RUNNING OK 9001
soa_server soa_server RUNNING OK 8001
While running the "eppmconfig" in P6 environment in-order to configure with BPM process, We copied all the BPM library and connector files to the P6 EPPM server. According to the Oracle Document "connecting_bpm_11g_to_p6.pdf"
In the P6 EPPM Configuration wizard "BPM Configuration" tab its requesting for the below inputs.
bpm.user:          ?               => Please advise whether i have give new user name here for BPM admin, Initially i haven't created any user. (My guess : weblogic)
bpm.password: ?                   (My guess : Welcome123(pwd of weblogic user))

bpm.user and bpm.password could be weblogic and its password. In all the other URL use the port 8001. Save the changes and restart the P6 server and test.

BAM integration with BPM 11gR1

Hi,
I am trying to integrate BPM 11gR1 with BAM starting with a simple scenario as am a newbie with BAM.
The requirement is to generate a report for tracking a BPM process and whenever a new instance of a BPM process is created, the report should be updated and reflect the change.
I have carried out the following steps:
1. Updated the BAM Adapter on the SOA server with the BAM server details (IP,port, credentials)
2. Cleared the "DisableActions" parameter on the EM console for BPM.
3. Created two Business Indicators for the BPM process whose tracking is to be done. Both these indicators are "Dimensions" with Type String. Used an Assign activity inside the BPMN process to populate the values from the request payload.
4. Created a new Data Object in BAM Architect (Inside a new folder created within Samples folder) and added two columns to it corresponding to the business indicators.
5. In the "Project Properties" of the BPM project, enabled the BAM option and provided the path of Data Object as /Samples/NewFolder. And deployed the project.
6. Created a new BAM report using Active Studio of view type "Updating List" and selected the data object created.
Now, the expected outcome is that whenever the BPM process is invoked and it's instance is created, the data should be sent to BAM and the report should be updated with the values of these Business indicators.
But this is not happening and also am not able to track if the data is at all being sent from BPMN process to BAM.
Not sure if missing out something.
Any inputs/thoughts would be really helpful,thanks.

You seem to have done all the actions required :
BAM adapter configuration
Disable Actions cleared in EM
BPM process enable for BAM publishing.
Here are a few things you can investigate.
Check the configuration again. Ensure BAM adapter and BPM project preference is pointing to the same JNDI name.
BAM Adapter configuration sometimes require a restart. Please do so , if not already done.
Check if any data showed up in Component DO ? If yes, the problem might just be with the BI DO. Try to send 2-3 instances
Is this PS3 (11.1.1.4.0)? If yes, it will automatically create the BI dataobject for you in Samples folder upon deployment so check under Samples folder if a new DO has been created.
Remember that you need to deploy the process with BAM enabled and BAM server running to get BI data into BAM.
Lastly, check the logs - check bamserver.log , bam-diagnostics.log and Soa/bpm log to get more information.

BPM Tasklist Integration with ADF Application

Hi Experts,
We are using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 in our project and need to integrate with Oracle BPM 11g. We basically need to see the BPM task list as well as initiate a new task from ADF Application.

It seems all of the instructions are there on your second link. When it comes to doing the weblogic portions there are links from there to another guide. Now I need to fetch the doc i.e.,
In UCM we have pdf documents i need to Download that document and show it in ADF UI using Java Embedded Activity.
Ie., Using Java Code I need to Download and Decode the PDF file using Java Embedded Activity after Connection with UCM. Save as a file in Local Machine then I need to Encode ads PDF and Show it to ADF UI.
Please experts its Quite Urgent!!

Integration of OBIEE Dash Boards with BPM Process

Hi ,
Could you please help me in integrating OBIEE Dash Boards with BPM . I thought of using 2 ways :
1) Integrating OBIEE with ADF First and then Integrating ADF with BPM . Its a long process but any other way if any one can help me .
2) Integrating OBIEE with BPM directly by generating webservices . but i couldnt get any options to generate the webservices for OBIEE .
Can anyone please guide me on this .

SAP R/3 integration with (Manual) Third-party App

Hi All
I am working on a scenario in which Third Party application has functionality which actually refines & correct the data upto the accuracy of 99%. So for this end-user needs to enter bit of information on their front-end then application will return the data on the basis of that information.
Now the problem has different parts -->
*) If I choose that SAP R/3 will initiate the ( Synchronous ) process then ABAPers raised the concern that they will not be able to display the response data on correct SAP screen also how to actually access the front-end of Third party.
Third-Party is ready to replace the Front-end with the web-service but then end-user will not be having the functionlity to select different options which is the strong part of Third-party application & also client is not agree to that.
Do you think I should use BPM in above solution with correlation on some field to identify the SAP screen.
*) If I choose Third Party application to initiate the ( Asynchronous ) process then again ABAPers raised the concern that how to display it on the correct SAP screen & how they know that data is coming at this point of time & they need to display it. Also Third Party said in this case they don't have expertise to customize their Front-end application & which will lead to additional cost to hire other developers.
Now can you suggest some good solutions for this kind of scenario in which an application needs the Manual intervention & needs to be integrated with SAP R/3. Also suggest from which direction I should initiate the process.

No Matias with Front-End I meant Third Party is providing the web-page where end-user can enter the details & those will be refined & corrected by the Third-Party Application.

Third-Party App is providing Java Classes & Web-Services for integration but we don't want to access them directly, first of all we would like to invoke/access the Front-end application.

Actually in this Front-end user can enter the data on given fields & data will be keep on refining while he is entering the more information into that given field. For e.g if the field says "City" & user enters "DE", a drop-down will come with all the cities in the world starting with "DE" like Delhi, Denmark etc.Once all the fields are populated with correct data user will click on "Submit" button which will send the data to SAP R/3 ( which we wish to do ).
Now in this case when user will click on Submit button ( means Third-party will initiate the process ) & data will be send to XI using ( for e.g ) HTTP sender then ABAPer's raised concern that how they will be able to show it in the right screen without using proper thread ID.
Pls. let me know in case you require any further information. My problem is this how to relate the Third-Party data with correct screen of SAP.

Alerts in Integration Process (BPM)?

We are just beginning to use Alerts in PI 7.1. If an error occurs in an integration process (BPM), will it trigger an alert if the Alert Rule is defined wide open? Or do you actually have to trigger the alert in the integration process with an additionl step to trigger the alert?

The Alert has to be defined in ALRTCATDEF.....no matter where the alert comes from (IE, AE, BPE)
If an error occurs in BPM and you have not mainatined proper exception handling for it then....and if the processing shows in red in SXMB_MONI then the alert will be raised as IE alert
However if you have implemented exception handling for a step and then in that exception branch you raise an alert then your BPM will raise alert....the subject of your alert email will be Process <ProcessID>
BPM related alert can be either with static text (using Alert Container Variables) or Dynamic text (using some value from payload)
Please note that to raise an alert from BPM it is not compulsory to only raise it as a Dynamic Alert......static alert can also be raised.
The documents which are available for lower releases are still applicable in alert creation.....so existing blogs/ docs should work

Any one can help me to find about the scenario XML file to ABAP Proxy with BPM, ID steps please. Any link or logical routing, receiver determination and interface determination idea. Please correct me,
I have created Business Service as sender to send one xml file to BPM, BPM is sending a message to SNC system. I have created 2 receiver determinations, but I am confusing in interface determination, where to declare OM?

Create one Abstract Asynchronous interface ,same message type as you used for outbound service interface .This is for Integration process receive step.
Create one Abstract async interface for receiving the response from SNC system in Integration process.
Create one Abstract synchronous interface to be used in the Integration process for Send sync step.
Create on inbound asyn service interface for sending the response from integration process (received from SNC system) to the Receiver System.
              Operation Mapping.
Create an Operation Mapping using Abstract sync interface and inbound syn interfaces.
              Integration Process
start--->receive Step---->send Synchronous step----->send step.
Create two container elements
first with abstrat async interface for the XML request.
second for abstract asyn interface with the XML response structure (asyn receiver system structure)
In the send sync step select your abstract syn interface from the F4 help.and select the corresponding request and response message from the container element you defined earlier.
Integration Directory.
Create one sender File adapter Communication channel for XML file reading.
Create two receiver communication channel for sync system(receiver XI adapte for ABAP PROXY) and other for asyn receiver system .
Create 3 receiver determination
1.from sender to Integration process.
2.from Integration process to SNC system.
3. from Integration process to Asyn Receiver System.
Create 3 Interface determination.
Specify Operation mapping while you are creating interface determination from Integration Process to Syn BS.
Create one sender agreement
Create two Receiver agreement.

Hi,
Your question is not very clear. Let me know how you want to use Value mapping?
You can implement value mapping in two ways..
1. Value Mapping Replecation Method, in which we create ABAP program (outbound proxy) in R3 which selects data from R3 tables and sends into XI, and which get stored in XI JAVA Cache untill you run the ABAP program next time which is very rare. This kind of method is best when you have large amount of R3 data.
2. If you have some data which is used just to varify the conditions at run time then in that case we go for Value Mapping creation in Integration Directiory. Below mentiond blog will give an idea how to use Value mapping in ID.

Value Mapping is used in Graphical Mapping which gives the value at run time only, so you cannot test it in TEST Tab of message mapping.
So as per you question, BPM can come into picture later on after you maintain the value mapping in ID and do the corresponding mapping in IR.
