VC through Usermapping SP15/SP10

I was able to use VC to serach for Models by selecting the system alias of my portal system in the drop down. I could get all the Queries. I had used user mapping between the user I used to launch VC and my BI user. That was till SP10.
Now on SP15. I use user mapping and my portal BI system itself shows single sign on not configured even though user mapping is set. Though I can still run BEx iViews without repeated login.
And in VC when I select the BI system, it says it cannot connect to backend.

any clues?

  • Can Visual Composer talk to/connect to any database?..

    Hi ,
My first question is if Visual Composer can talk to a database directly?
I would like to know the all the databases which visual composer can connect to?
Does it connect only to SAP Backend systems?
Or can it connect to Any Database like SQL server etc.,?
If so, how can visual composer be configured to any database?...
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Vaishali.

    Hi Vaishali,
It can talk to Any SAP Data base or Java or Oracle data base through portal.
First you have to confihure all your backends in Your portal and Connect them to Your VC User through Usermapping.
So all Backends will appear in VC There by you can use the for your application in your portal.
    If helpful award points

  • Error while creating Pop-up window in SAP NetWeaver 7.1 CE  SP10 PAT0001

    Hi  All,
I am trying to create a pop-up in the SAP NetWeaver 7.1 CE  SP10 PAT0001 and jdk1.6.0_21. I am trying to create a pop-up window using the "New Features of Web Dynpro Popup Window - SAP NetWeaver CE 7.11" Link:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/a04870c5-749b-2b10-06ba-d25515ef39e3&overridelayout=true
public void wdDoModifyView(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView view, boolean firstTime)
       if (firstTime)
            IWDWindowViewElement window = (IWDWindowViewElement) view.getRootElement();
It shows the collowing error " IWDWindowViewElement cannot be resolved as type". I am using the latest version of NW CE and jdk but still i am unable to find the "IWDWindowViewElement".
I have gone through a similar thread talking abt the same problem but it did not help. (Web Dynpro Popup Window Error in SAP Netweaver CE 7.11)
Can anybody help me with this?

    Hi,
I think the problem is rather the following:
    The guide says:
"How to create a popup with the new feature mentioned above?
Before starting you should check the version of your NWDS. This can be done in NWDS: u201CHelpu201D -> u201CAbout SAP NetWeaver Developer Studiou201D. The version information should look similar to the text below:
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    SAP NetWeaver 7.1 EhP 1 SP00 PAT0000"
I tried the same guide on 720 and there the interface IWDWindowViewElement is available.
So again, the problem is this:
have the SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP10 PAT0001
    This means you have 710 (SP10 PAT1)
The guide says you need EHP1 at least
    SAP NetWeaver 7.1 EhP 1 SP00 PAT0000
    This means 711 (SP00 PAT0)
    Best Regards,

  • Connection to SAP R/3 46B through EP

    Hi All
I installed following products but don't know how to connect SAP R/3 system through webdynpro.
    EP : 6.0 SP10 (Only Java instance)
    OS : Windows 2000
    DB : Oracle 9i
    R3 : Version 46B BASIS SUPPORT PACK 30
    OS : Solaris 8
    DB : Informix 7.31 fd2x9
Am new to NETWEAVER programming my desire is to connect
SAP and fetch data from SAP pl guide me.
    Thanks in advance
    Sanjay

...and for "classical" portal development (i.e. PAR files), first create a system object in system administration --> system configuration --> system landscape and set all configuration parameters for your R/3 system accordingly there.
Next decide on you you like to implement SSO to this system (user mapping or SAP logon tickets). For the latter one, some additional steps need to be performed on the R/3 side. Please check service.sap.com/securityguide for this or do a search on the SDM forums on "sap logon tickets". There also are various nice weblogs on this, e.g. Quick Guide for setting up SSO between EP and R/3
Now for the "data fetching" part. This will require doing an RFC call from EP to your R/3 system. For this, you usually utilize SPA Java Connector (JCo) through JCA. This archive https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/jca on ep6 building portal applications.zip
    contains all neccessary information.
Hope this helps, if so please do not forget rewarding points.

  • PI 7.0 SP15 alerts JMS Duplicate message error

    Hi all,
We have a scenario where in we  receive BAPI calls to R/3 from web through MQ and XI.
WEB -> MQ->XI->R/3 (Request / Response send back similarly)
We have modular configuration in the channel.
All these BAPI messages are queries needed to build an order for example product information / customer information etc.
    We have PI 7.0 SP15
Sometimes we receive the error ' Duplicate JMS message with JMS ID##### detected.Duplicate will be ignored' in the sender JMS channel.Because of this error XI is not able to process subsequent messages and the channel keeps on throwing the same error. We need to clear the queue and then restart the channel to make it work.
Can any one please tell me what is the reason for occurence of this error..?
Is this ID generated in JMS or in XI?If so how this could be handled without clearing the queue's..?
When we analyzed the messages in the queue we found out same xml messages been send twice which i would imagine the query been send twice(which is a possiblity from the web) would that have caused this JMS duplcate message error??!!
Also because of this error XI is throwing multiple alert messages at the rate of 3 per second which is causing the huge performance hit as the alert inbox gets filled up..We did put the suppress multiple alert check..but before somebody reacts to these alerts there are numerous of them created..any suggestions on this is much appreciated..
Thanks for your help in advance
    Larry

    Larry,
Is that alert rule is generic or interface specific? If it is generic then please make it interface specific.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

  • Where do I set the polling frequency for Technical monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 ??

    Hi All,
I am customizing my technical monitoring templates and would like to know :
    1. Where we can set the polling frequency for each metrics for triggering alerts through Technical monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 ??
    2. Is it like each time our threshold is breached, it will send an alert irrespective of polling frequency ??
I know the data collection interval time for each metrics in technical monitoring template but the as per my observation the polling frequency is different.
    Need your guidance.

  • BPC 7.5 NW SP10 on BW 7.3

    Hi.
Has anyone succeded in installing BPC 7.5 NW SP10 on BW 7.3. It should be supported. At least it says so on SMP.
We are facing some troubles. We did install an all new BW system to be used for BPC. The component CPMBPC 753 was installed as this should be the version for BW 7.3.
When looking at the system status in BW the component CPMBPC says version 753 and level is 00.
We were installing SP10 of the .NET server components, but it seems that there is some version mismatch here. We are able to connect to BPC through BPC Admin and get access to all application sets. There are however some things which cannot be done - like deleting dimension members.
It seems to me that version 753 is not SP10, when I look into BW and UJBR the new features of SP10 in UJBR is not there. Is anyone aware which 750 service pack level matches 753 on level 00?
By the way we were not able to install the support packages for 750, as it is not the same version.
    Kind regards
    Mogens Smerdel

Just a follow up on this.
I didn't find an answer so I raised the question in an OSS with SAP.
They came up with the answer that
CPMBPC 753 SP 00 is equivalent to CPMBPC 750 SP09
and CPMBPC 753 SP01 is equivalent to CPMBPC 750 SP10.
However it seems to me that SP01 for 753 is not yet available.
    Best regards.

    Go to System Administration
    -> System Configuration
    -> System Landscape
-> select a Folder where you want to store your system object
-> right click -> New System
-> in the wizard, select JDBC System
    -> enter values
    -> edit
Then fill in the correct values as stated here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/84/d5df3df2ad685ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
Then assign an Alias and enter some usermapping data for the system.
You then can use the ConnectorService to get a native sql connection and fire statements. I'm sure you can find some examples here.

  • Set up of System Monitoring with SPS 15 only through "Work center"

    Hi!
We use SAP Solution Manager SPS 15 and would like to set up System Monitoring function in order to monitor satellite systems.
Is is only possible as of SPS 15 with tcode "solman_workcenter"?
I have heared as of SPS 15 the tcode "dswp" provides only Display view...
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    H. Thomasson

    Hello
Is is only possible as of SPS 15 with tcode "solman_workcenter"?
--> If you want to configure Solution Monitoring, you can follow rkt in service market place. With SP15, SAP has given additional functionality to access solutions or projects through work centers. Now its up to you to use this functionality or you can directly go to solution_manager or DSWP to configure, doesnt matter.
I have heared as of SPS 15 the tcode "dswp" provides only Display view...
--> Have you tried? Its not Display, either way through work center you are going to access the same transaction. Please check.
    Thanks
    Sharmishtha
