VCA sign fails continually. Now won't go online

For the past few weeks have been receiving sporadic (multiple) VCA sign on failure messages during the day, I'm not attempting to sign on, I just receive the pop up.
Last night received 89 of them!!!
VCA says it's offline.  I've tried loging in it says sign on failed.  I uninstalled and reinstalled and still sign on says failed.
Guess this is now a DEFUNCT app??

Sorry, don't need any bridges, I do however have some ocean-side property in Nevada I'd be glad to part with.   Sounds like you've confirmed that the account is active (and someone hasn't changed the password out from under you or Verizon hasn't "accidentally" cancelled the account) and that you've confirmed the credentials match what's in the client ... in which case, you're probably right that it's an app/server problem.
Curious, have you tried disabling the firewall software on your PC to see if the problem goes away?  Perhaps the application has started making or relies on non-typical ports for communication and the firewall is silently blocking these (particularly if they happen to be using UDP instead of TCP connections).
Along the same lines, have you tried designating the PC with VCA running on it as the "DMZ" host on your router? (be careful if you do this while you have the PC firewall turned off as it will leave you potentially vulnerable to attack).  If the VCA is using UDP, the packets could be getting dropped by the router for being non-stateful.
If either (or both of them together) of the above work -- then there would be a way to put a rule in the PC firewall or router to keep things working without needing to leave it in the DMZ or disabling the firewall.   If it doesn't have any effect, then we're back to your theory that it's wholly and app/server issue.  Short of putting a sniffer on the PC to capture the traffic to see what's it doing when the failure "pops up", it's hard to tell.
Suddenly started working again then just as suddenly today has stopped again.
Don't run any firewall software on machine.
Can't designate as dmz as machine is several layers away from the VZ router
PC has wireshark on it but I'm not big on the idea of wading through all of that.
Just tried it on my win7 media center machine and it fails there too.
Guess I'll have to wait for a few days until it magically starts working again

Yes, I know King-Penguin....I'm just so frustrated and in a panic, that I was hoping the itunes geeks that sent out this falilure of an update would still see it, and feel bad. And maybe even send out a quick link fix it botton. Guess that's just a newbie way of thinking!

  • Updated Xperia Z on Pc companion, failed and now won't open! PLEASE HELP!

I flashed my phone months ago but now I just wanted to upgrade it to Lollipop or what ever is the latest update for my phone but the problem was during update, the PC companion suddenly stopped. Said it had errors, and would not go any further so I removed my phone from being connected to the PC and now it won't open.  How can I make it work again? or at least can I still get the data inside? Please help this is a very heart breaking event. Important memories are inside my phone

    Hi,
If I understand you correctly, the phone won't even power on now? No reaction while you hold the ON/OFF button? If that's the case, you will unfortunately not be able to backup any data.
With PC Companion you can perform a software repair. In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

  • Installing update to iTunes failed. Now won't run.

I just tried to install a newer update to iTunes and received this error message. "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114). I also get the following error: "Runtime Error! Program C:/Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes exe  R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Trying to reinstall just results in same error messages. This is on a PC running Windows 7.
Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'm getting the same error after doing a recent iTunes update (yesterday).  I'm also running WIndows 7.  Per suggestion from an earlier post I uninstalled iTunes and tried to reinstall but that also failed - I'm getting the message "Apple Mobile Device failed to start - Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services".  I tried both ignoring & retry.  Neither works.  Now I have no iTunes at all.
    Whats going on here ?

  • Failed install now won't ever install properly

I attempted to install Firefox before, but the network security settings at the time never let me complete that install - it got stopped at the point where it had to reboot to finish.
Now it is caught in an endless loop of wanting to restart Windows all the time, but never completes. The security settings were changed to allow me to install, but now when I download and restart the download, or even when I go to the programs menu and attempt to UNINSTALL the program, it just goes back to the damn popup about needing to restart to complete the original install!!! How in the hell do I get rid of the old one? The folder was deleted from the PROGRAM FILES, but STILL gives me this crap!

Not really solved, but I figured out a work-around. I went to "custom" and installed it to a folder on my desktop, then moved it to my program files. However, I still have the rebooting link in my Start menu, and I can't uninstall the new one even -- goes back to the same garbage as above!
There is obviously some remnant of the old, failed install in the system that is screwing with things, but I don't know where/what!

  • Tried to download iOS 8 but failed and now phone won't go on stuck on plug into I tunes screen

Trows to download iOS on the laptop but said failed and keeps failing but phone won't do anything now stuck on plug in to I tunes help please

hey guys I was in the phone to apples for over hour and a half and he couldn't fix it, so I took it to my local stormfront shop and he plugged it in and it restored straight away and had the iOS 8 on it, it's very common he was telling me and sometimes windows interacts with the download for apple updates and causes the phones to go into basically limp mode, best to plug in to an Apple Mac etc

  • Update failed. Now iTunes won't recognize iPhone.

I connected my iPhone 4s to my computer, and iTunes prompted me to update my iphone. I initiated the update and awhile later the update failed and now my phone only shows a picture of the phone's cable with an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo. Whenever I plug it in, iTunes does not recognize it. I have gone throught the basic fixes suggested, but the issue remains. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I have restarted Apple Mobile Support, I have reinstalled the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. I don't know what else to do.
    I am using Windows 7.

I really wasn't sure what on my computer was causing the problem, but I just used another computer whose iTunes recognized my phone, was able to restore it to factory settings, and then my computer's iTunes recognized it once it was no longer in recovery mode, and I was able to return my iphone to normal with a previous backup.
    Thanks for trying to help.

  • MacBook pro kernel panic, now won't boot. Am I doomed?

My MacBook Pro 15" (bought in Jan 2012) just had a kernel panic and now won't boot up.. Am I doomed?

No, it doesn't necessarily mean the hard drive is toast. You can start by doing the following:
Boot into Safe Mode then do this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion
Boot from your Lion Recovery HD. When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
If the drive is OK and you can repair permissions, then see if the computer will boot up normally. If it doesn't boot up normally then reinstall OS X:
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • I tried to update iTunes yesterday.  The update failed.  Now when I try to open iTunes it says that the version isn't localized and needs to be run in English.  It has never been in another language.

I attempted to update iTunes yesterday.  The update failed.  iTunes now won't open and displays an error message that the program isn't localized and needs to be run in the English version.  I'm in the US and the computer and program has never been used in another language.  I tried reinstalling the full download for the new version and that failed as well.  I logged out; shut down; restarted; retried the update; etc.  Still no luck and the same message.  Thoughts?

Solving MSVCR80 issue and Windows iTunes install issues.
If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

Sounds like an activation issue. Quite Premiere Pro. Sign out of Creative Cloud. Restart Premiere Pro. Sign back in: http://bit.ly/CC-sign-out
    Hope that works for you.

I had somebody  work on my OS 10.9.2 to speed it up. He failed and now  Preview, Textedit, App Store, Mail (crashes) and Contacts  do not work anymore. I can still use Safari, Firefox, Word, Photoshop and iPhoto etc. How do I get the Apple programs fixed again?

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).

  • Chrome and safari now won't open on air after update

AAt first working fine, updated software a couple of days ago then progressively getting slower then freezing constantly and now won't even open.....

    Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.
