VCard 3.0 support in the future

I know about some future phones no longer supporting vCard 2.1 format, but only 3.0. Can we expect an iSync supporting 3.0 in a foreseeable future?

Apple rarely pre-announces the finer details of future software updates outside of developer circles, and as this is a user-to-user forum, you won't get a reply from Apple here.
However, if you're a paid-up member of Apple's Developer Programme and agree to the Non-Disclosure Agreement you can access beta versions of future OS Updates and Developer Tools which may answer your question. You'll also be able to submit feature requests directly to Apple through the same developer channels.

  • File Type Support in the Future?

    Hi all,
    I'm really tempted to buy either the 16GB or 32GB iPod Touch. I currently have a creative Zen Touch 20GB, so the touch will be my first iPod.
    Basically, the one thing I'm not too impressed with atm is the low level of file type support. Is it likely that in the future, the iPod Touch will accept AVIs, WMVs and WMAs etc through a firmware update?
    Thanks!

    Thanks. I ask mainly because file types such as WMV, WMA, AVI etc are common and easy to manipulate files.
    So are the file types supported by QuickTime, iTunes and iPods.

  • Does SAP stop/terminate ITS support in the future? - truth or just gossip

    I've heard a gossip about SAP will terminate the ITS functionality in the near future.
    Does anyone know something exact about this theme, what is the SAP official slant in this question?
    If it is true, what is the alternative solution instead of ITS functionality is WAS?

    Hi Andras,
    SAP provides different frameworks to program user interface. The most often used framework is the SAP dynpro programming model which is probably used by 80-90 percent of SAP applications. ITS is the technology to display screens based on the dynpro framework in the browser. Because dynpros are so widely used it is very unlikely that SAP will terminate support for ITS in the near future. On the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) following official information can be found for the oldest release of ITS, ITS 6.20 standalone:
    ITS 6.20 - supported 'longterm'
    The date for end of support for release 6.20 depends on the maintenance deadlines for the SAP products which need the SAP ITS 6.20.
    As long as one of these products is supported, the ITS 6.20 will also be supported.
    Currently the product with the longest lifecycle is SAP ECC 5.0 (until 31st of March 2013).
    For integrated ITS which is a functionality of SAP Netweaver 2004/7.0 the maintenance timeline is as long as for the SAP Netweaver release.
    As you see you can expect ITS to be healthy for quite long time.
    Please also check the ITS FAQ: <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/itsFAQs&">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/itsFAQs&</a>

  • Will there be any Eucon support in the future?

    Hey,
    I don't know if the question is allready asked, I didn't found anything in the forum.
    I'm using an Artist Color by Avid, former Euphonix and it would be nice if I can use it in Speedgrade in the future.
    Does anybody know any further?
    Thanks,

    I'd suggest using the standard Adobe wish/request/bug-report form ... and asking for it. You can find the address on the Overview page for all the Adobe forums, in the header above the list of "discussions".

  • Possibility of .rw2 support in the future ?

    Is there any info whether it is planned to add support for Panasonic's RAW format .rw2 in a future update ?

    Right, but the only outcome of "ACR's RAW conversions" is conversion of camera Raw formats to DNGs.
    Actually that is incorrect; the reality is a bit confusing. ACR is Adobe's RAW converter (as opposed to a DNG Converter) while DNG is Adobe's wanna-be-standard RAW file format. In Photoshop, for instance, ACR is used to open a RAW NEF file from Nikon, CRW file from Canon - or DNGs. Once opened/converted the files are no longer "RAW" and are then saved as PSD, TIFF, JPEG, whatever.
    That's why I read the sentence as implying Apple made a DNG converter.
    DNG is just another RAW format, and Apple's OS does read most RAW formats including DNG. However a "DNG Converter" converts one kind of RAW (like NEF or CRW) to another kind of RAW (DNG), so no Apple does not make a DNG converter while the OS does do RAW conversions.
    Per Bruce Fraser (c. 2005): "Adobe DNG Converter is a handy standalone application that converts camera vendors' proprietary raw images to Adobe's new DNG format."

  • Sytem call utssys support in the future?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know just how future proof utssys system call is considering future Solaris versions?
    The reason I am asking is that it is not very well documented and the utssys.h header doesn't even contain the
    function prototype of the utssys function call.
    You can use it though by defining the function declaration yourself in source file:
    #include <sys/utssys.h>
    #if __cplusplus
    extern "C"
    #else
    extern
    #endif
    int utssys(void buf, int arg, int type, void outbp);
    ...

  • Acrobat 9 will support Firefox 6 or above in the future?

    Hi,
    another question
    Acrobat 9 does support Firefox 4, will Acrobat in the future support newer build of Firefox too? or one had to upgrade to Acrobat X (not free )
    thanks

    There are no announced plans to update Acrobat version 9 to keep track of the rapid release schedule in Firefox, though Adobe is trying to keep Acrobat X and Adobe Reader X updated, and today's 10.1.1 patch brings in compatibility with Firefox 6.0. You can always install Reader X alongside Acrobat 9, and use Reader as the default for in-browser use.
    The matrix of supported configurations is available here.

  • Does DPS support Object States or will it in the future?

    Most, if not all of the interactive publications I have designed in ID CS5 use object states to deliver large amounts of content in a cleaner, less-cluttered manner;  I find the object states feature of InDesign to be by far the most powerful interactive component.  Does DPS have the object states feature or will it in the future?

    Yes, object states are supported. Create object states, select object states and then fine tune in the Overlay Creator. You can make buttons to go to next/previous or specific state, you can autoplay swipe through object states etc.

  • Multiple GPU support in Speedgrade in the future?

    Hi:
    I got a couple questions.
    -Could Speedgrade support multiple GPUs in the future versions?
    -Which "cards" are supported in SG Creative Cloud? Matrox, BlueFish, Blackmagic? Could both systems (Mac&Win) works with the same cards? (except for Nvidia SDI Output, windows only).
    Thanks.
    Miguel.

    Hi Miguel,
    SpeedGrade does not support, or need multiple GPUs. It uses the GPU extremely efficiently so you're going to get better performance with much less GPU power than other color grading applications need.
    You should be able to use it fine with Matrox cards on both Mac and Win. Bluefish and Blackmagic are not currently supported (although it is reasonable to hope that will change at some point!)

  • Future Support of the G5's.

    Greetings to all!
    I'm considering to replace my three PC's (a Dual Opteron, a Dual Xeon, and a P4) with a single Quad G5.
    I don't doubt that these are wicked machines, but I've got a simple question about the future of the G5's.
    With the switch to Intel chips- I don't intend on buying a First Gen Intel Powermac, but what's the general opinion about third party software vendors continuing to support the PowerPC platform?
    I know Apple will continue to support the G5's for quite some time, it's just companies like Maxon, Adobe, etc, who all make programs that I use daily under Windows and on my G5 iMac.
    Are these companies simply going to "drop" PowerPC support, and go all-out Intel only one day? Or will a G5 still be able to run current day software 3 years from now?
    I just don't want to drop $4500 (Canadian) on a Quad, only to have Apple as the only supporter of the PowerPC platform in a month... $4500 gets you a really big SLI system these days, although I'm tired of bantering with Windows and Linux, and I'd like to grab a Quad before they get discontinued for some buggy x86 version.
    Cheers!

    Hello ScottishCaptain and welcome!
    Future third party and Apple apps will be compiled into Universal Binaries, so they will run on either processor.
    Since Apple knows how many PPC (G3's, G4's and G5's) is out there everytime we update the OS, they will know when to stop producing universal apps and just provide Intel only versions. That could take many many years as PPC is the overwhelming majority at this time.
    Apple most likely will share this info with third party software developers so they will as well keep their maximum options open to selling their software.
    You'll most likely upgrade the Quad long before universal apps are no longer produced anyway.
    http://appleintelfaq.com/
    However if there is some PC software you wish to continue running on a Mac after you dump the PC's, you'll have to wait for the new Mac Pro with Intel processors to be released. I don't expect any substantial performance increase though, the Core Duals are just catching up to 3 year old G5 processors now as it is.
    The Quad is a killer box and the third party software is widely available.

  • Does endeca support update data now or in the future?

    The question is like this kind of scenario: Now the endeca page retrieves data from a oracle database's table. I just want to know if endeca has the functionality to update a piece of record. For example endeca page can have input filed and submit button, when user enter the new data in the input field and click submit button this piece of record in the database is updated. Does endeca support this functionality now or in the future?

    If you are genuinely syncing to 4 webmail accounts you will only hold copies of the last 7 days of emails and folder contents in Playbook (or 14 or 30 days if you set it).  All the archive material over that age resides only on the web.
    You need to go to webmail to clean them up.

    On page 3 of the 920 service schematics are two lines labeled VDD_HDMI. I would (naively) guess this has something to do with HDMI video output (and thus MHL). Do you know what it's for?
