Vcast apps

When starting vcast apps. During the loading process it come back and says "ERROR unable to complete request. My options are Retry, Catalog Home and Exit. Just received the phone yesterday already having problems or operator error.

Rest assured, it's not a defective phone. I have the steps that will give you access to V Cast Apps.
I had the same issue with my Android when trying to launch it on my Android device. You will basically need to reinstall the application.
1. press MENU> SETTINGS> APPLICATIONS> PLACE A CHECK BY UNKNOWN SOURCES.
2. Open browser and enter following address It is case sensetive.

3. Download the application and if asks to replace then do so. Once you go thru the set up it should start working.
It does require a memory card be present in the device.

VCAST Apps - PARSE ERROR when try to update

Hi,
I tried to access my VCAST apps the other day to download a new app. When I tried to search, I received a message that indicated I needed to update VCAST apps. I clicked "update" and received a message "PARSE ERROR: There is a problem parsing the package."
My Droid Razr is only two months old. I have sent two emails to Verizon support with no response even after 48 hours.
I need some assistance with how to get rid of the parse error.
Should delete the VCAST APP and re-download? If so, where do I get the VCAST app? I can't see to find a link.

You should be able to find it in the Play Store. When you open the Play Store, press menu>my apps, then scroll down to the app you want. If there is an update, it should be at the top of the list, however, sometimes if the developer makes certain changes, or if they have to pull the app and re-upload it, there may be a disconnect from your list. You can also search for the app and see if you can update it that way.

IM+ from VCast Apps

I have a Blackberry Storm 2. I use Vcast apps on it. I bought IM+ from Vcast apps and downloaded it to my device. There is an update for IM+ so I applied the update. Now IM+ is telling me that my 7 day trial is over and that I need to either provide a license number or buy online. The price of IM+ on VCast is 39.99. I already bought it, but there is no license key. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions on what I should do? I'm not buying this appication again. $40 is too much money to be throwing away. I contacted the manufacteurer of IM+ but they say they cannot help me if I bought it through VCAST apps.

Hi. I am sorry you are having issues with your application and I will be happy to look into this for you. How did you apply the update? Was it through Vcast, online, or just an notification on that particular application?

Can't get "VCAST Apps" to load ANYTHING

I just activated my LG Revolution two days ago, and when I try to open "VCast Apps," I can't get it to load ANYTHING. It just keeps loading, but nothing happens. Is there a solution? Can I uninstall VCast Apps, and then reinstall?

It's definitely frustrating to not be able to access applications on your new phone.
Do you happen to get any type of error message when you try to load V Cast Apps?
Are you having problems loading any other applications on your Revolution?

Network Error when Trying to Use V Cast Apps on OS 6.0

I recently updated to OS 6.0 on my Bold 9650 via the OTA and the VCast Apps icon is now visible on my device. When I select teh icon, it opens 1.0.8 build .8. When I try to select a category, I am prompted for a "V CAST Apps Update" that I must complete to continue. When I select the update, the application churns for awhile, and then tells me it is unable to process my request due to a "Network Error."
I have deleted all of the third-party apps from my device, and rebooted, and all that, but still cannot get VCast Apps to work.
Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? I have seen some other mentions of the issue, but no one seems to ever find a solution.

V CAST Apps

I cannot load the V CAST Apps to my phone. It says Loading......... then i get ERROR: unable to complete request. I have sent an app to my phone through the verizon website, tried loading it, and still get the same error. Anyone know how i install and run the VCAST app ? fyi....i was able to load V Cast media and music with no problem.

DARLENEP71, Vcast is a great feature for ringtones,music, apps, games, and more. I'm sorry your having a hard time accessing it from your phone. We will first need to know what type of phone you have? This will allow us to check if there have been any reports of issue withVcast for your particular phone. V CAST APP PROBLEM/ DROID 4

I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ACCESS THE V CAST APP ON MY DROID 4 SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT BACK IN MAY. WHEN I SELECT THE V CAST APP IT BEGINS TO LOAD AND AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS 'UNABLE TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT-PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE'. I CAN ACCESS ALL VERIZON APPS THROUGH GOOGLE PLAY SO I'M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THE V CAST APP IS NO LONGER BEING USED BY VERIZON AND IT WAS PERMANENTLY INSTALLED ON THE DROID 4 BY MISTAKE.
ANYBODY HAVE AN ANSWER?

Star Legends game app Droid X not available??

When attempting to download Star Legends on the Media Store, my phone is a Droid X by Motorola. Compatible phone according to the list it provides after saying "This game is not available for your phone."
Is the game compatible or not with the Droid X? 2.2 update (also cant download the vcast apps due to server error when attempting to get the app download)

Here is a nice little twist from the usual security flaws post that we have been seeing lately, so I decided to share.
It appears that Verizon and Lookout Security are teaming up to protect the customer from being attacked by the dreaded Malware bug that has been popping up lately.

Watchdog for the Droid Incredible

So in a desperate attempt to have my phone battery last longer than 3 or 4 hours after normal use, I purchased the Watchdog app which kills apps once the CPU usage on you phone hits a certain percentage ...due to the almighty Froyo kicking off apps anytime you do anything on the phone.
SInce you can specify when to kill an app based on the percentage usage (ex, kill Pandora once CPU usage hits 50%) I set it up to kill Skype, Amazon, City ID, Updater, Footprints, News, Slacker, Stocks, Vcast Apps, VZ Navigator and Voice Dialer once CPU usage hits 1% (in an attempt to kill the app every time it starts)
So far I see the difference in battery life but its too early to determine if it makes a difference after a few days ...my concern it the app is ALWAYS killing some of the apps listed before ...primarily Skype (stupid, pointless Skype) so this is no different from ATK basically. Since I have read several times before that ATK's are pointless on 2.2 I am wondering if this is no different?
Just curious if anyone else is using the app and appreciate some feedback ...so I can get a refund if it does more harm than good.

I don't use the app, but it doesn't sound too much different than other task killers other than the parameters used to determine when to kill apps. I would think that this particular app though would use more battery as it would have to constantly poll the cpu to determine when limits are reached. Also, I would remove updater (I believe this is used by the market to notify you when an app is updated) and voice dialer (may be critical to phone functions). And now, a brief spiel about task killers...the android os (not just 2.2) views free memory as wasted memory. Built into the code are low memory limits and the os will load apps into memory up to these limits for quicker access, starting with often used apps and system apps. These are waiting idle and not using battery power, whereas, if they are killed, they attempt to reload which will use battery power. When a new app is opened, if more memory is needed, the app that has been sitting idle longest is removed from it's space in memory. Eventually, I believe, the system learns which apps you use most so, in time, the bloatware apps that you never use will not even load. Sorry if this got too long (it usually does) but I hope it helps in your decision. I would advise doing some research on android/task killers/memory management. It's very different from windows and that is what most of us are used to.

Ringback tone didnt transfer

I recently got the Thunderbolt and my ringback tones didnt transfer over. I have tried numerous times to get into all the v cast apps and they will not open on my phone. I tried to do it on here and cant cause it is on another line not the primary line. Anyone else have issues with v cast or their ringback tones? Starting to think Im really gonna hate this phone!!! Also lose data connection had to do system reset 3 times already!!

Ringback tones aren't stored on the phone, they are on the network.
If they are missing it's not because you have a Tbolt. Having issues with vcast apps is not the same as losing your ringback tones.
Have you tried signing in to the site itself directly to set them? Or make sure you still have a ringback tone subscription (which also wouldn't have disappeared for a phone upgrade).
You can do it from here, just don't log in as the primary number, register a member account for the number you're specifically trying to see the rbt for.

Bold 9650 with OS 6 and Random Reboots

Hi, all,
I upgraded like many of you to the latest official OS for the 9650, version 6.0.0.431. I have been experiencing random reboots, at least 4 or 5 per day. I was wondering if any of you are experiencing the same thing? Usually, random reboots are caused by some 3rd party application, but I am having a hard time figuring out which one it can be. I think it might be either Facebook or Weatherbug causing the reboot. Not sure, but wanted to get your input. If you are experiencing random reboots with this OS, let me know.

Probably what happened on the "pushed" icons for apps is that when you reloaded your OS, you probably restored the Service Book. Then, after your device was connected to the network, it got pushed a couple of those icons again, resulting in duplicate icons. In my case, it was the icon for VCast Apps. I went into Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Service Book and found that I did have the VCast Apps listed twice. I deleted one of those entries and one of the duplicate icons disappeared. Now, you could delete all of those pushed icons in the Service Books, but they will reappear after a few hours. The Service Book is continually updated during the day. It connects with the network, looking for updates and it will put those pushed apps back. The only solution is to hide those apps. I just made a folder called pushed apps and moved all of thosed pushed apps into that folder. I hope this helps.
By the way, no reboots since reloading my OS yesterday afternoon. That is good. I will load Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 and let it run for 24 hours and see if I get reboots.

Samsung Reality VCast Song ID App Not Working

I'm having a problem when trying to use VCast Song ID: "Out of Filespace. Delete some files. Restart app & try again"
My phone memory is 51.52MB avail out of 100MB total.
My card memory is 1.46GB avail out of 1.85GB.
I think part of my problem may be because I saved the app to my card. I can still access it, but I get that error message. I've tried taking out the card and re-downloading the app, but that doesn't work. I don't know how to remove the app. I'm just kind of at a loss.
This phone can be a bit confusing so I may be totally missing something.

I have provided some instructions below on how to use your SD Card. You should be able to view and delete any files that you do not want on the card. Once the app is removed, you should try re-downloading the application again.
Card Memory
View the memory usage on the optional microSD™ memory
card. This menu will only appear if a card is inserted.
1. From a Home screen, touch Menu ➔ Settings &
Tools ➔ Memory ➔ Card Memory.
2. Touch a setting:
• Memory Usage: View Available, Used and Total memory, and
current memory usage for My Pictures, My Videos, My Ringtones,
My Music, My Sounds and My Contacts.
• My Pictures: Pictures saved from a Picture message,
downloaded via “Media Center”, or taken using Camera.
• My Videos: Video Clips saved from a Video message,
downloaded via “Media Center”, or taken using Camcorder.
• My Ringtones: Ringtones downloaded via “Media Center”.
• My Music: Music downloaded from V CAST Music, or
transferred from your PC using Sync Music.
• My Sounds: Sounds downloaded, recorded using your phone,
or saved from a Picture message with Sound attached.
• My Contacts: Contacts saved on your phone.
• Move All To Phone: Move all movable files to phone memory.
• Format Card: Erase all files from the memory card.
To re-download the Song-ID App
