  • Ask the Experts: Single Sign-On with Cisco WebEx Meetings Server, Internet Reverse Proxy, and Enterprise License Manager Solutions

    With Arun Kumar
Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about Single Sign-On (SSO) with Cisco WebEx Meetings Server (Cisco WMS), Internet Reverse Proxy (IRP), and Enterprise License Manager (ELM) solutions.
SSO standards such as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 provide secure mechanisms for passing credentials and related information between different websites that have their own authorization and authentication systems. SSO enables simplified user authentication and management.
IRP provides public access, enabling users to host or attend meetings from the Internet and mobile devices. Although IRP is optional, Cisco encourages its use because it provides a better user experience for your mobile workforce.
    Example question topics include:
SSO profiles and SAML 2.0 Identity providers (IdPs) supported in Cisco WMS
    Basic configuration of IdPs
Interaction between IdPs and Cisco WMS
Difference between the cloud client implementation and Cisco WMS
Meeting access behavior in a split-horizon network topology with SSO
How to enable public access to Cisco WMS
    Cisco WMS ELM operations
Cisco WMS ELM compared to other unified communications ELM or standalone ELM and compatibility/inoperability between them

  • Cisco WebEx Meetings Server Enterprise License Manager

Multi-facetted question for anyone who can answer:
    1)  Can Cisco WebEx Meetings Server(CWMS) use an off box Enterprise License Manager (ELM)
    2)  Can non-CWMS UC Applications utilize the embedded ELM that comes with CWMS in lieu of the scenario in the above question
    3)  If neither scenario 1 or 2 have "yes" answers, is there a roadmap in place for this to happen?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Webex Meetings Server emails w/Exchange 2010

Can someone tell me the correct format for entering the email address in Webex Meetings Server for sending notification emails?  I can get them working internally with Exchange 2010 but they seem to come from [email protected]  Does this mean I need to setup a mailbox for a user called admin?  How is it configured with authentication enabled?
I've tried the username as -
    webex
    [email protected]
myinternaldomain.local\webex - this doesn't work as the '\' character doesn't get saved when you apply this config
There is an AD user called webex configured with a mailbox on Exchange 2010.
I've got no visibility of the Exchange side, but any advice I can pass on would be much appreciated.  Apparently, with email authentication off I can only send emails to internal domains that AD is authoritative for, but this is obviously no use for Webex conferencing.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

Our account is set up as ourdomain.webex.com. This gets us to the sign in page. We use Zimbra so our e-mail is set up that when we start a meeting or schedule a meeting, an e-mail is sent to the host that they can forward to the people they wish to attend(it has all the needed meeting info in it). It usually doesn't send an invite directly unless you use  the 'invite others' window once the meeting has started.
When I set up my webex account on our server I used my email and a password (not AD) That is what I use to sign in on the server to start a meeting.
    Hope that helps.

  • Is it possible to import Tracking Codes with Cisco WebEx Meetings Server 2.5?

Is it possible to import Tracking Codes with Cisco WebEx Meetings Server 2.5?

    Hi,
In documentation, you can find only what is possible and supported in the product. We don't document what is not supported.
At this time, there is no feature request submitted for this as I assume no one requested such a feature. If your customer really needs this feature, I advise you to reach out to your/their Cisco Account Manager, explain the feature you would like to see, so they can reach out to Product Management and see if this could be built in the next product version.
    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco WebEx Meetings Server-Internal IRP vs Split Horizon

    Hi,
We are planning to install CWMS 1.1 but not able to decide among below two topology -
a.Internal Internet Reverse Proxy with all virtual machines including IRP in same internal network(ie no IRP in DMZ).
b.Split Horizon with IRP in DMZ network.
I would prefer option a.(all VM in internal network) as fewer changes on the firewall(allow potrt 80 & 443 from external to internal) but not sure how risky it is as will be allowing all external internet traffic directly to IRP internal on port 80 & 443.Will we be compromising on security if we go with this option?
Please suggest which option is recommended .I have gone through the pros & cons mentioned in CWMS planning guide 1.1.
    Thanks
    KMS

    Srdjan, KMS,
Appologies  to jump in, but I am  also doing a 50 port installation. I am leaning towards  internal topology as well as it appears to be less complex and best preforming.
    Srjdan,
+5  for the info. Can you please confirm if below applies to 50 port  systems as well? Do we need to have a minimum of two boxes to install  split-horizon-topology?
"On another hand for that deployment you need 2 HW box's."
I  was under the impression we can patch the physical CWMS server onto a  DMZ switch and can do split-horizon-topology with only one hadware box.  Can you please confirm if thats possible at all?
I tried to raise a request with PDI and was rejected that PDI at the moment is not supporting this product.
I have same queries - let me know I can open a separate thread if you want.
    1)  How much of a security risk it invloves doing Internal IRP?
    2) Is there any additional Cisco device we can recommend to the customer to add extra layer of security to the solution?
    3) We have only one hardware box - what would be the best design in that scenario? (50 port installation)

  • Cisco WebEx Meetings Server (CWMS) NFR? More than 180 day Demo?

    Everyone,
I know about the Trial license 180 days for CWMS but for our demo use I would like to get a NFR so we can install onsite without having to worry about licencing every 180 days.
I don't think I saw CWMS in our UC 9.0 NFR Kit - so any help would be great.
    Thanks,
    Brian Wyland

    Hi Brian,
CWMS is still not part of NFR kit, if you have valid UCSS you can get via PUT tool or get in touch with your Cisco AM and they will be able to help you.

  • Invite Template for WebEx TelePresence Meetings (TMSXE)

    Hello,
We are working on deploying WebEx Enabled TelePresence and TMSXE to our environment.  Everything is working as expected, however I am having some frustrations with the email templates.  When scheduling with Smart Scheduler you get the booking invite HTML template from TMS.  However, when booking from the WebEx Productivity Tools (the new one that works with WeT and TMSXE) it loads the invite with the booking invite plain text version from TMS.  I have looked everywhere and the only thing I have found is under Coniguration in TMS, email settings, set Email Content Type to HTML instead of both (multipart).  However, this still doesn't seem to force the invite to be HTML instead of Plain Text.  If anyone has some insight into this, I would greatly appreciate it.
    TC

    Hi Tim,
This community is observed by Cisco WebEx Meetings Server (on premise) and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace experts. None of these products integrate with TelePresence, so we won't be able to assist you. I advise you either post this question in TelePresence community which is observed by TelePresence experts, or reach out to Cisco WebEx Support directly (1.866.229.3239) to get answers about WebEx E-mail templates and possible solution.
I hope this will be of help.

  • WebEx Meeting Server 1.5 - Call drop after entering meeting number and #

    Hi everyone,
Just installed a new CWMS server version 1.5... all features seem to work EXCEPT when I use the call in function, I type in the meeting number, hit # and the call is terminated.
    I read through this document:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/b_troubleshootingGuide/b_troubleshootingGuide_chapter_01000.pdf
    From the document:
    Call-In Issues
    • Problem Users hear a reorder tone before or after the complete number is dialed.
    • Problem The "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" message is played by the annunciator.
    • Problem During call-back, a user's call terminates after pressing 1 to join the meeting.
    • Problem During call-in, a user's call terminates after entering the meeting ID followed by #.
Possible Cause You need to reconfigure your CUCM servers.
Solution Reconfigure your CUCM settings as follows: Use the "<NONE>" partition and "<NONE>" CSS
(Calling Search Space) for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related entities in CUCM (for example, route
patterns, SIP route patterns, SIP trunks, etc.).
Solution Use one partition and one CSS specifically assigned for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related
entities. For more information refer to the system guide for your CUCM version.
I configured my route pattern to use <NONE> and all other option as <NONE> and still the call is terminated.
I created a css_webex CSS and put in pt_internal and assigned that and I still get terminated.
    Am I missing something here?

Personally, I never really use the null partition but before we go there.  You have a couple different route patterns.  The first is an inbound call pattern(s) that are going to be standard route patterns (i.e. numeric) and you'll have some outbound PSTN patterns for the actual outdialing that CWMS does.  You then have some SIP route patterns that can either be defined as IP or FQDN for each media server.  After you connect and then want to join a meeting, those SIP route patterns are used to redirect you to the appropriate server where a meeting is hosted.  For those patterns, are you using IP or FQDN and what partition are they in?  If you are using FQDN then you may need to change to IP depending on your DNS configuration on CUCM.

FYI....boot from SAN is required for physical server (T4-1) (not OVM).

    set—sfs—boot ?
We tried selecting a disk and applying sfs-boot at ok prompt.
Can you please help me providing detailed pre-requesites/steps/procedure to implement this and to start boot from SAN.
    2) How to SMI Label/Format a disk while OS Installation in Solaris 11.1?
As we know that ZFS is the default filesystem in Solaris 11.
We have seen in the Oracle documentation that for rpool below are recommended:
    - A disk that is intended for a ZFS root pool must be created with an SMI label, not an EFI label.
    - Create root pools with slices by using the s* identifier.
    - ZFS applies an EFI label when you create a storage pool with whole disks.
    - In general, you should create a disk slice with the bulk of disk space in slice 0.
I have seen the solution that using format -e, we change the labelling but all the data will be lost, whats the way to apply a SMI Label/Format on a rpool disks while OS Installation itself.
Please provide me the steps to SMI Label a disk while installaing Solaris 11.1 OS.

Oracle recommends below things on rpool: (thats reason wanted to apply SMI Label)

    Hi,
you see that message: "The password must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters with at least one number or special character." ?
The password: The weblogic password you provide when prompted
must be at least: minimal condition for secure passwords enforced on WLS by default
at least 8 alphanumeric characters: no 7 but eight or more characters
with at least one number or special character: password should have a number in it or an "@" "-" or similar
    E.g.
    weblogic1
is one password option that would meet that requirement

  • How to install and where to get kernal source for Oracle VM Server

    Hi guys
Can someone point me in the right direction for oracle VM Server kernal source, as the server I am using won't ping, and found its cause it doesnt recognise the network adapter, says there is no drivers.
But the HP website states I have to have the kernal source install so that I can build the driver.
Any suggestions or help on the matter?
    Thanks

    Thanks
I got my server to ping.
Now I have ran into more trouble.
I have been following ORacles installation guide for installing a Virtual Machine, but am struggling to install it, as their instructions don't match whats on the screen.
They tell you to copy each CD into a directory.....
and then mount that directory as an NFS mount.
    I done all that
and then it tells u to do virt-install
So I do that, and it all works great, until the end part, its mean to ask you what is your installation souce directory , and your supposed to put nfs:selfhostname_ip_address:/path/to/files
    and away you go.
However my server says " what would you like to use as your virtual CD image"
and so I type nfs:server_ip_address:/path/to/files etc, and I get the error CD MUST EXIST
so to get around this, I just typed /OVS/iso_pool/Disc1.img
and away we go, instlalation starts....
However THe instlalation then asks for disc 2, and then I get stuck, how do I tell it, that I changed the disc, and its ready?
I tried an installation of mounting the disc1 iso from a cd to /mnt
and then wen it wanted disc 2 I dont umount -l /mnt ...it said inodes busy, so I just forced the eject CD physically ont he drive
    and then mount /dev/cdrom /mnt , for disc3
but it didn't detect I changed a cd.
Can anyone help me, its really urgent have to get this server up and running by today if possible.

Does an SLD must have a dedicated server and separated from the IR and ID?

    Hi,
No need not require for seperate Server for SLD,

After this update is installed, you must install update 2732673 to fix a regression issue in the Rdbss.sys file
After this update is installed, you must install update 2728738 to fix a regression issue in the Profsvc.dll file
After this update is installed, you must install update 2878378 re-released on November 11, 2013 to fix a regression issue in the Advapi32.dll file
I have imported all four of these hotfixes into my WSUS server. Do I need to install 277551 first and then install the other three or can all four be approved and go out at once? I guess I am hung up on the language of "After this update is installed
.... ". I want to put all 4 of these on our Win7 machines as well as my 40+ WinServer 2008 R2 machines

I read somewhere that over half of the updates included in Win7 SP1 and WinServer 2008 R2 SP1 were originally released as hotfixes. This means Microsoft made the decision that a large number of hotfixes would benefit every user of these two OSs
I think your conclusion is flawed. The only thing that you can draw from the presented statistic, is that Microsoft determined that a significant percentage of updates originally released as hotfixes warranted the additional investment in regression testing
to subsequently release those hotfixes as updates.
The fact that they bundled these 90 hotfixes together leads me to the same conclusion.
In fact, exactly the opposite conclusion applies: What you have in this package is all the rest of the stuff that didn't make that cut. What you have in this package are still NOT-regression tested hotfixes, they've just been bundled up for easy deployment
(and note that three of them got further broken in the process of bundling), causing yet three more hotfixes to have to be released.
In fact I read the MS Team Blog about this big hotfix release and they say the same thing, all users of these OSs would benefit from the installation of this hotfix rollup, not just a subset of users.
I suspect there are a notable number of patch administrators and systems administrators who would disagree with that self-serving promotion. If, in fact, it's true that "all users" would benefit, then the product team should have invested the effort in properly
regression testing those hotfixes, and releasing them as REAL updates. They did not; ergo the *actual* value is less than claimed.
Of course the bugaboo here is the fact that three other individual hotfixes need to be installed after the big hotfix rollup is installed.
Exactly! (And those are just the attempted fixes that broke something. Who knows how many other "fixes" may still result in newly discovered "broken stuff" that was never broken in the first place.)
The second part of this question should revolve around an itemized review of the hotfixes contained in this rollup with one simple question asked for each:
Have we actually *experienced* the issue addressed by this hotfix.
Where hotfixes are concerned one very simple but important rule applies:
If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it!

  • Why we need SSL Certificates for configuring App Server in Sharepoint

    Hi Support,
We are planning to have a separate server for Apps, while configuring the server its asking for certificate. The main scenario is while configuring server inside the same firewall why we need SSL for configuring.
Could you please let me know the reason why we need SSL for configuring App Server.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Hi  Pradeep,
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a transaction security standard that provides encrypted protection between browsers and App Servers. When SSL is enabled for an App Server, browsers communicate with the App
Server by means of an HTTPS connection, which is HTTP over an encrypted Secure Sockets Layer. HTTPS connections are widely used by banks and web vendors for secure transactions over the web.
Secure Sockets Layer  is a requirement for web applications that are deployed in scenarios that support server-to-server authentication and app authentication. This is such a scenario. As a prerequisite
for configuring Task Synchronization, the computer that is running SharePoint Server must have SSL configured.
