Vector and raster within one unflattened PS file?
Is there a way to save and submit a Photoshop file containing both vestor and raster art-unflattened-so that it stays vector and raster when the client opens it? The issue is: client wants to be able to zoom in on the whole file and not lose sharpness of the type. Seems like a reasonable request. So the finished, unflattened file needs to include both types of layers. Someone suggested using Indesign. Could that work? Didn't Deneba Canvas used to work that way? Can someone point me to a Knowledgebase article that covers it? I posed this question in the Illustrator Forum as well.

Open both of your images in the Editor. Click on the image you want to copy and press Ctrtl+A (select all) followed by Ctrl+C (copy) then click the tab for your other image and press Ctrl+V (paste)
Alternatively click on your background image then simply drag the second image from the photo/project bin and drop it into the main editor workspace on top of the background image. Use the move tool to position and the corner handles of the bounding box to scale. -

I have a question regarding control multiple updates and queries within one transaction. We are using EclipseLink 2.3.1. With below code, will I be able to:
- have all insert, update, select queries committed in one transaction;
- queryGetBalance will return the latest OrgBalance after update;
- if one fails, everything rolls back.

After five years of problem free usage, my Logic Pro mixer pots have suddenly come down with palsy -- that is, jiggle up and down within a tiny range -- sometimes one, sometimes several, etc., no pattern that I've been able to grok. And any pot that is jiggling can't be moved up or down. I tried circumventing my 828 converter and coming straight out of my desktop iMac OS X, but that didn't help. I also moved a Logic midi file over to my laptop, and when I played it on Logic the jitters were there too. Anyone ever develop this bug, and if so, do you have a fix? Could it be a corrupted program?

If you used an iOS app, power down (Not just put to sleep) your iOS device and see what happens.. If that fixes it you are running an iOS controler in the background and so you will need to close it..

Failing that, quit Logic and trash the Control Surface pref file.... restart Logic and see if that cures it..
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
Press the Go button.
Delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder. -

My scenario is File to File
In this I need to pick Files from two different Directories on different systems: Sys1 and Sys2
In Sys1 i have 7 Files File1 to File7
In sys2 i have 8 Files File 8 to File14 and File_EOPM
Now <B>I need to merge File1 to File5 in one File say File_new and transform my file File6 into say File_new2</b>
Condition is when File_EOPM is uploaded in my Sys2 Directory then the Files should be transferred to Receiver file Directory RCVR
In RCVR i shud have the following Files
File _new
File_new2
File8 to File14
File_EOPM.
Hope I made my requirements clear
Please advice me whether this can be done w/o BPM?
Also help me in developing dis scenario

Rookie.Well here is the design which i can think of
You can have a total of 3 scenarios
Scenario 1:will have a OS script executing before message processing,this script will keep on looking for file File_EOPM,if this file exist,it will activate the sender file communication channel to transfer the file File_EOPM to RCVR directory(Simple file to file scenario),the script will also activate the sender file communication channels for scenario 2 and scenario 3.
Scenario 2:this will collect files File 1 to File 6 via BPM,its sender file communication channel will remain in inactive state,this will only be activated externally by the script of Scenario 1.
Scenario 3:This will send rest of the files to RCVR directory,even this sender file communication channel will remain in inactive state,this will only be activated externally by the script of Scenario 1.
You dont have to create separate scenarios for all the above though,just create all of them within one scenario,i have split them in 3 separate scenario for ease of understanding

I have the most current version of MS Home Premium Vista. I run it on a 64 bit Dell Studio Laptop.
I have just started suing Mozilla Firefox 2013 Beta version.
I usually used Firefox vs IE as my browser and have my Yahoo email set as my home page.
When I tried to print a a several page PDF file I was accessing using Firefox, all it it print previewed and ultimately printed was page one. This happened regardless of the PDF file (e.g. those on the IRS.gov website). When I switch over to Internet Explorer and try to read the same files, I have no problem.
On 2012 versions of Firefox I had no PDF printing problem. I do think there is a bug in the latest version.Top left (Orange) Firefox button, Print, Print Preview. Does everything look correct? You may also click the icon that looks like a "DISK" to save, which allows you to save it to your computer and CTRL+P will allow you to print.

I got a new Macbook pro in March and transferred all of my old files into the new macbook from my old one. But ever since then, my iPhoto just does not open up. It says 'error' every time I try to open it, but I am still able to attach the iPhotos saved to emails. Help! How do I get my iPhoto back?

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.) -
Okay, i have 2 bugs with maverick. First, when I delete a file within a window, the files deletes but the preview doesn't delete until I close the window and reopen it. Second, I work on a network of computers and the search feature is now buggy... When I search for a file, A) it asks me if it's a name, or it wont produce anything, and B), its slower than in prior OS versions and in some instances I have to toggle to a different directory and go back to my original directory in the search: menu bar or the search wont produce anything... Very buggy.
It appears to me that network file access is buggy in Maverick.
In my case I have a USB Drive attached to airport extreme (new model) and when I open folders on that drive they all appear empty. If I right click and I select get info after a few minutes! I get a list of the content.
It makes impossible navigate a directory tree.
File access has been trashed in Maverick.
They have improved (read broken) Finder. I need to manage a way to downgrade to Lion again. -

I can understand your concern, however can you please let me know that are you able to open both the PDF files ( the one you converted form excel to pdf & the other pdf that was mailed to you ) individually without using any password?
As it asks for the password, it means that the postal mailed PDF is password protected. You can ask for the password from the sender of the postal mail & then try to combine the files.

This will probably resolve your issue.

Can I include external drives to be backed up using Time Machine? Not only do I want to back up my IMac, but I have several extenal drives for one iPhoto, one iTunes and one for other files & documents. How do I know if they are included in the backup process?

i set up my new computer using the apple ID i always use, and then later migrated all my files from my old mac book to the same new one, but under a different user (same apple ID). how do i consolidate the two users on my new mac book?
Well if you use the Finder Go menu to Computer, a window opens up double click on your boot drive and then on Users folder, open the other user folder and open Public and drop your files into DropBox
When you do this it will copy them and change the permissions and user assigned to it, so log into the other user and place them into your respective normal folders.
Once you have all your files over and don't need the old user, use System Preferences > Accounts to delete it if you wish, however it's good two Admin accounts on the machine in case something bad happens in the other. Some people for security reasons on use a Standard account for most uses and a emergency Admin account.
One can still do most Admin things in Standard user. -
