Vector importing into Photoshop

I have a Acrobat file exported from a vectory map.  But when I open it in Photoshop it rasterizes it.  I have Acrobat Pro also.  Is there any file format Photoshop can inport and keep it as a vector?   Is there any way Acrobat  pro can export to such a format?
Thanks,
Chas

If you create a new blank Photoshop file and place your Acrobat file into it (File > Place...) It will place as a smart object and can be non-destructively scaled up and down.

Same here. I've never had trouble with this function before.
It opens the Photoshop application with all the menus/windows, but it never opens the actual image I chose to work on.
I'm on a Mac, using OS X Yosemite, 10.10.1  Lightroom is version 5.7  Photoshop is CS5, version 12.0.4
FWIW, I also can't automate>Photomerge ... . Makes me think Photoshop, not Lightroom, is all wacky. I tried dumping PS preferences

  • Epson 2450 Scanner no longer available as an import into Photoshop

    Hello,
I am having a problem with my Epson 2450 scanner importing into Photoshop. Last week with thoughts of upgrading, I purchased an Epson V700. I installed the scanner but found it not to my liking and returned it. Yesterday I downloaded and ran the Uninstaller to remove the V700. This however deleted my 2450 driver as well. I reinstalled the 2450 driver from Epson but then, and after repeated attempts, found that the 2450 is not showing up as an import option. Please note that I am still using Tiger. Any suggestions to getting this all working again as it has for the past 8 years would be greatly appreciated. One simple use of an uninstaller has turned for the worse - I wish I had just kept the V700 installed and just ignored that it was still listed in Photoshop as an import choice. (Please note also, that I am a high school photo teacher and was planning on giving the 2450 to my school. I was not able to load the driver and use the scanner through Photoshop on our school Macs either.)
    Thank you,
    Nick M.

Hello, did you repair Permissions & reboot yet?
    One possible option is Vuescan...
    http://www.hamrick.com/
It supports the 2450, can be made to send the scan directly to PhotoShop, and has many more features than Epson's SW does.

How do I import into Photoshop touch a PSD file from sketchbook pro mobile?

I don't believe you can at this time. The only way to get PS Touch to import a PSD is to upload it to Creative Cloud first (but even then it'll flatten any layers).

  • Import into photoshop as layered smart objects

is there a way to import images into mulitiple images into photoshop as smart objects from bridge?
    Thanks

I tried to using the ACR export setting: 'open as Smart Objects in PS' and
hit done, revert to Bridge and with Tools - load to layers.
It seemed the obvious route for me but it did not work sadly enough.
However using the load to layers tools gives you the option to select the
layers in the file and then convert to smart objects, only you have to do it
    one by one I'm afraid.
is there a way to import images into mulitiple images into photoshop as smart
    objects from bridge?
    Thanks

  • How do you export a Premiere Pro screen shot without distortion when importing into Photoshop?

How can I take a screen shot in Premiere Pro (CS6 or CC) without it becoming distorted? Lately, when doing this, the images are elongated. Then, when I bring the image into Photoshop, it looks fine, except that the Pixel Aspect Ratio has been automatically engaged. I seem to not be able to do anything to the image to correct it and when saved, it goes back to its distorted form. What am I doing incorrectly? What is the fix for this? Is this a Premiere issue or a Photoshop issue? BTW, I posed the same question on the Photoshop forum. SIDE NOTE: I tried to resolve this via a chat session...that was an exercise in futility.
    Thanks!

The MTS files that I imported into my project are 1080i 29.97 fps, upper field first, 1.0 pixel aspect ratio.
I tried encoding an AVI with the Lagarith codec with these settings and had better results this time but the frame rate still stuttered.
I even tried making an MOV with the H.264 setting and had strange results.
I can make an H.264 MP4 at 1920x1080 with no problem.
What are the exact settings for an MOV or AVI just in case I missed something?  I really want to have an uncompressed file to archive that can be easily edited later on.  I'm thinking that MOV would be the most flexible format.

  • Png-24 import into photoshop cs3

    Anyone know a way to import png24 into photoshop cs3 / cs4?
whenever i do it all i get is a solid transparency.
i want to be able to batch several icons. lowering them in image size.

Does that remove the transparency or show the mask? The reason I ask is I have someone on another forum that is quite inquisitive. And would like to know how to do this. He states it is possible to do in AE so it should be possible in photoshop.
I currently only have CS3 but hopefully that changes next month.
The images that he needs this done on are renders from a 3d program. I assume he prefers png format even though it does support of formats including those that don't support transparency or an alpha. The thing is some images can take quite awhile to rerender.
The work arounds I told him about was to either
a)render just the background and place it on its own layer below the image. or
b)use a 3rd party program that does not support transparency or alphas like MSPaint.
I will forward your suggestion about CS5 though as I don't know what version he is using.
If anyone is interested in the other conversation you can find it here at http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?29237-Photoshop-equiv-of-AE-s-quot-ignore-al pha-quot

  • Does Apple's ImageKit really allow scan import into Photoshop?

    On this page Adobe claims:
If your scanner manufacturer does not support scanning in 64-bit mode, or you have issues scanning with TWAIN, you can scan into Photoshop CS6 using Apple’s ImageKit technology, which is built into Photoshop CS6, does not need a plug-in to be installed, and provides access to a large number of scanners.
That doesn't work with my Epson Perfection V350 Photo. I wonder if it actually works with any scanner. With Photoshop CS6 have wiped out many scanners that don't have 64-bit compliant drivers, why doesn't Adobe connect with Apple's Image Capture app? Why doesn't the V350 work with the ImageKit technology alllegedly part of Photoshop CS6?
Adobe needs to restore the import from scanner capability that has been part of Photoshop for years.

    Hi nicmart,
The ImageKit scanning feature in Photoshop CS6 supports exactly the same scanners as Image Capture does. Unfortunately, this feature is currently broken in Photoshop when running Mountain Lion (CS6 was released prior to the release of Mountain Lion). We are working closely with Apple to resolve the problem. This issue has been discussed in detail in several other forum threads since the release of ML. As soon as we have more information, we will let people here in the forum know.
If you are running Lion or Snow Leopard, you should find that indeed a large number of scanners are supported without any additional software needed, and can be used to scan directly into Photoshop CS6. Apple publishes a list of hundreds of supported scanners in a tech note, which you can find at <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669>

  • Export Vector Icons into Photoshop?

    Hi, bit stuck.
I've got an icon pack which is in Vector Format containing about 20 individual icons in the one file.
Any ideas how I can take each vector icon out of illustrator and export it for photoshop and then the web.
Tried selecting the vector and then copy & pasting into photoshop but figure that's not the right way of doing things as it'll be huge.
Appreciate any help, just need a pointer
    John.

In Illustrator go to File>Save for the Web and Device no need to export to Photoshop.

  • Lightroom adjustments not importing into photoshop

I have edited dng images in lightroom 3.2. I have selected lens profiles to correct vignetting. When I click open in Photoshop CS4, all the edits except the lens profile corrections export to Photoshop. The lens vignetting returns. Is there a setting somewhere that I can correct so that all editing in lightroom is reflected in Photoshop CS4. Has anyone else experienced this?
In addiion, is it possible to have a trial version of Photoshop CS5 and Photoshop CS5 installed at the same time.
    Jim

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the link. Before I got the link, I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop CS5. This fixed the problem. However, as a CS4 bug I also tested this with CS4 as a second edit-in preference in Lightroom. This also worked, however I am not sure that this was a valid test. Once I downloaded CS5, it became the default editor and there appears to be no way to remove it as the default editor without uninstalling.
Please note that when editing in Photoshop that the resulting psd (I have not tested other formats) imported back into Lightroom is about a half-stop brighter. I noticed this before but never reported it as a bug. It would be nice to fix this before 3.3 is released.
Is there any way that Lightroom will remain in the Edit module when doing a Compare. This drives me crazy. Many times you want to edit images by having them side by side with previous shoots or images that someone has sent you. Now it is constant bouncing back and forth.
    Thanks for the fast feedback.
    Jim
By the way, what are you doing working on a Saturday

  • MPEG-2 import into Photoshop

The specs for PS CS3 Extended Edition says MPEG-2 is supported if an encoder is available. Is it possible to import MPEG-2 clips into PS? If so, how? What I want to do is move HDV clips from Premier Pro CS3 to PS Extended and do some corrections and then move back. How is this done? Thanks!

Well I never tried it. But from what I read photoshop uses quicktime for importing media. According to Apple mpeg2 is an option you can purchase for quicktime pro.

  • PDF imported into Photoshop is Fuzzy

Im using Photoshop to import a pdf which I want to convert to a tiff... but it is not as crisp as the original PDF
    Text etc is blurry/fuzzy
I've tried importing at 300 and 600dpi without luck

Converting the vector content to pixels naturally has some effect, but to judge that could you please post a screenshot of the converted file in Photoshop at View > 100% and of the pdf in Acrobat at a corresponding size?

  • Copy-Pasting paths into Photoshop

I've made a vector-only AI file that I need to import into Photoshop. But when I press Ctrl-V in Photoshop, nothing happens. If I try to drag the path from Illustrator to Ps, I either get a message saying "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [usBt]", or Illustrator will just crash immediately. In fact, sometimes the error message pops up as soon as I switch the window from Illy to Ps, before doing any paste operation.
I've tried playing around with different combinations of clipboard options in Illustrator, but nothing helped.
For now, apart from trying to resolve this error, I'm also looking for an alternative method to convert AI paths to Photoshop. Any help would be appreciated.

    Additional info:
When Illustrator crashes on drag-drop, the last message it displayed was "Converting dragged items to EPS (AICB) format."
Also, I realized that my Illustrator can't save in PDF or EPS either; I get a "Can't save the illustration." message.
I've done a reinstall (Ps and I) but the problem persists.
I'm running CS3 Design Standard, with the latest updates AFAIK, on WinXP SP3.
