Veeery long time to open

Hello,
My Adobe After Effects CS3 takes a veeery long time to open. I double-clicked the shortcut on the desktop for it exactly 20 minutes ago from now, and it's still not open. I remember it opening within about 1 minutes months ago, and then recently it took about 5-10 minutes, but now it's worse than ever. Any possible things I could try to minimize the load time?

Your disks are full, I'd say. Check the AE prefs and clean out the Media Cache. Startup takes forever, because AE is looking up and veryfying each single file in the cache. If you never changed it, it defaults to C:\Documents and Settings\You\Application Data\Adobe on Windows XP for instance. If you look it up, you surely wil lsee several gigabytes of files In addition, do some generic system maintenance by ways of CCleaner and defragmenting your drive. also look for auto-saves, render logs and other stuff. Of course Andrew is also right - flakey fonts, CoDecs and even modified graphics card settings can sometimes have the weirdest side effects on system health....

DWCS3 takes a long time to open!

HI,
As you read on the title, DW CS3 for Mac Leopard is taking a
long time to open. When you click on the application to open the
program, you get the typical DW green screen, the version # (9.0
Build 3481) but below that, all that stuff that read as it opens up
is not there. Looks like is trying to locate a file or folder and
after a few minutes the application finally opens. What's that?
Yesterday it was working fine. No idea what could it be. Any ways
if any of you kindly give me any suggestions of how to fix it, it
would be great.

Excel files with fields linked to other excel files take a long time to open from SharePoint library

Trying to track a problem for a user.
Most of the documents opened from our SharePoint libraries appear to open in a timely fashion.
But...one user has noticed an issue, and I just noticed something with her files that are a little less common than other stuff we've seen.
she has a lot of pricelist excel files. there are some master price list files, and then other files that link to fields from within the master files.
the files that contain links to other files appear to be the ones that open very slowly.
the files are being opened via excel itself, not the owa viewer or editor.
is there a trick to setting up either the library, the site, site collection or web app... or some client-side setting that affects how quickly/efficiently excel will open files that link to other excel files shared within sharepoint?

According to your description, my understanding is that when you click a hyperlink which redirect to other files , the file are opened very slowly via excel client.
How about you download the same file and open it using excel client? If it is opened quite fast, the issue should be caused by some third-party add-ins in the office program or antivirus soft.

Firefox takes very long time to open and often crashes for some websites

i have used firefox 3.6 with windows xp, vista and now windows 7. there is same problem i am facing at all after well usage of week. firefox takes very long time to open approx. 1 minute at first click. after refreshing computer when i click again, it becomes ready to use but meanwhile you re working firefox opens in another window perhaps for the first click. what is this please? i have reinstalled firefox but it is not fixing problem

Webi report takes long time to open

Hi All.
We have created few reports in webi and we have used variables in these reports.
But while opening that reports into BI Launch pad browser, it is taking long time to open. e.g. 5 to 7 min or more.
Please help to resolve this issue.

1) Does the webi report contains any chart
2) Are webi reports which are slow only on a single .UNX
3) How about the network.
4) Are you using IE
5) Are you in 3.x or 4.x
Could you try any of the below:
1) Increase Tomcat memory pool to 4096Mb
2) Stop and restart Tomcat once.
3) Try with other browser
4) Use something like Fiddler to understand the network speed
5) Delete cookies in the browser
Try the other options told by our SCN colleagues aswell..

Financial reports version 7 are migrated to system 9.

Are they taking a long time to open in the studio or in the workspace?
There could be lots of reasons:
Have there been server changes with the migration?

One more alternative would be to increase the time out parameter in ABAP environment.
The steps to change this parameter:
1) txn: RZ11 -> enter the variable name rdisp/max_wprun_time
2) Display -> Change value -> Then input the value you would like        (ideally 3600)
PS:
1) Don't set this value too big, otherwise general performance will be
influenced, since lots of dialogue process will be occupied for a long
time
2) This parameter can be changed dynamically
Once the parameter is set please test again. You can try incremental
values and test which one does not give timeout error.
