Veiwing HD on a client monitor Aja card has no HDMI or DVI . any solutions

I wrote to aja and they said to use the analog component out. I want to use the HDTV to on-line hd shows. Does going analog out sound like I'm not getting the best to the monitor? Do I need to add another DVI card to the computer? Will it work with the AJA Lhe?

Well, you have the LHe, right? That doesn't have HDMI out...so you can't use that. It has SDI out, but, the HDTV doesn't. So that leaves Component. They are right (as usual). Component gives a fine signal, I use it myself at times.
DVI out from your computer will NOT give you anything resembling a proper video signal to the HDTV. With the LHe, the only option you have is Component. And it will get you a decent signal.
ONLINE HD shows? Well, since you can't properly calibrate the HDTV to color bars, I'd be hard pressed to recommend this option. Fine for client monitoring, but for critical viewing? Nope. The Matrox MXO2 has HDMI out that will calibrate your HDTV...I'd trust that. But HDTVs don't have the professional level options build in.

  • Going from video card w/ micro hdmi & 2 dvi into monitor w/ 2 hdmi & 1 vga; ??

trying to determine which would give me the best resolution.  video card has 2 dvi and 1 micro hdmi outs; monitor has 2 regular hdmi and 1 vga.  would the micro hdmi to a regular hdmi work best or would a dvi to hdmi give better resolution.  getting conflicting answers and msi not answering phone today, thanks!
also can i go from 2 dvi into 1 or 2 hdmi to get better resolution?

Resolution is dependent on what your monitor (display device ) supports. It makes no difference which connector you use, as DVI and HDMI are both digital outputs

  • Vizio 37" client monitor?

We've recently bought a 37" Vizio as a client playback monitor. I know that this is not the ideal choice for accurate color but I'd like to calibrate it to get it closer to Broadcast quality. I'm using a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card with the HDMI output (sometimes the componenet outs as well). How or what can I use to calibrate this TV to make it better and more accurate than the default settings?
Also, what is the best way to calibrate your computer monitors. I'm using (1) Eizo 20" and (1) Eizo 24" display (neither Production monitors). Right now they're calibrated for print work. Is the NTSC (1953) setting okay or is there another way to calibrate for FCP editing and Broadcast standards?

as long as you know that Vizio is the bottom of the hdtv barrel.
Which set up dvd did you use, something like Avia? The daily set up regimen can be done with that blue gel but it's primitive. Find a menu preset that is totally neutral and then go through your brightness, contrast, color menus and find their mid point. Being that it's digital, there will be no hue/phase control so you're kinda screwed if the tv's internal bias/gain controls are misaligned. But, you might be able to adjust phase through the Intensity Pro, maybe, I dunno, I don't have one.
Pipe hd, NOT sd ntsc, bars into the Vizio. Set your white and black points with the brightness and contrast controls and then set you chroma level with that blue gel taped on your eye and the tv's color control. Then compare it to your broadcast monitor on your FCP rig and be prepared to swear to the heavens as it'll look nothing like your broadcast monitor. So, paint away to try and match at your own risk.
However, the best solution for you is to have a technician come in from one of the local high end AV stores and have him calibrate the Vizio for you. Just to be clear, calibration is different than daily operational set up. The tech will cost you upwards of 500 or so bucks but it would be worth it and maybe next time you won't purchase such a cheap hunk of junk display.

  • Reference Monitor - Capture Card

I am in the process of finishing our HD editing system Build and had a question about a third monitor setup. The two reqular monitors are the Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP and the GPU is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295. Even though I am still a fan of for CRT's, the LCD's are getting better. Two of which, the Panasonic BT-LH1760 and the Sony LMD-2050W we have access to. We use PP CS4. For the Reference Monitor and HD-SDI, I assume we need a PCI-e card. I have been reading and have seen some thoughts on the Matrox cards with PP, wonding some thoughts on the following and any suggestions as to how it works with PP CS4:
    Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme
    DeckLink Studio
    Blackmagic Intensity Pro

For Firewire to HDMI, look here:
    http://www.aja.com/html/products_Io.html
    BUT -
why not just get an HD monitor w/ DVI in? Lot of them have that.
Going w/ a blackmagic or AJA card will give you more control of whether or not it appears as a 2nd monitor tho.
Let's face it tho, HD monitoring is the wild wild west. W/out real hi end analysis tools there is no practical difference between having a dedicated 'monitoring' out vs having a shared desktop / 2nd monitor.

  • Aja card Mercury transmit crashes

If I use Mercury transmit with my aja card, speedgrade crashes or won't run at all.
I know this is a bit of a known issue, but I haven't seen much mention of this since early november.  are there any fixes or workarounds I heven't heard about yet? (apart from not using an external monitor.)
It's a real shame as it is now rendered virtualy useless for me.

I want to Connect my Mac Mini as a Slave to a Mac pro Server while at the same time using the Mac mini's thunderbolt ports peripherals ( ie monitor, Sound Card, Hard drives) Creating a poor man's new mac Pro. Can this be Done?

Well, I really would love the new unreleased mac pro however , I'm not sure of the expected cost , Everyone speculates from $3,000 to $8,000, in which I may have to wait a while to purchase.
To the point .... I want fully functional thunderbolt ports to be on the current mac pro's .... wonder if anyone had workarounds yet?...  or could I chain the the current mac pro to a mac mini to make that happen?

  • Install Creme and MI Client on SD Card

    Hi All,
Due to low memory in my device, I have tried install creme and mi client on SD card follwing the below instructions suggested by some one.
+Refer the steps mentioned below for MI Client + CreMe on SD Card.....+
Installing MI and data on SD ROM:
    1. Copy the CrEme cab and the MI cab on to the device and install them. Register the MI Client.
    2. Assign the application/addons/patches to the device, sync to get the appliation along with the data. (I have copied whole MI folder which is working in another device having db2e etc and data)
    3. Move the CrEme folder present in WindowsCrEme to the SD Card directory.
    4. Move the MI folder to SD Card directory.
    5. Move the following dlls present in Windows to SD CardCrEme in
    • CryptoPlugin.dll
    • DB2e.dll
    • DB2eJDBC.dll
    • gfw.dll
    • gfwconf.dll
    • jscp.dll
    • jscpconf.dll
    • License.dll
6.Edit the crème_listOfJars.txt which is present in SD CardMI, change all the paths which are present in it to point to the new path. eg. MIlib ME.jar to SD CardMIlibME.jar. Also add a ‘ (quote) after -classpath and also at the end.
    ie. –classpath ‘SD CardMIlibMDSD2.0CD.jar;SD CardMIlibdb2ejdbc.jar;SD CardMIlibME.jar;’
7.Move the MobileEngine.lnk file present in WindowsStartUp to SD Card
    8. Edit MobileEngine.lnk file. The new content should be as given below:
+255#"SD CardCrEme inCrEme.exe" -Of -ml 64000 -bcp 'SD CardMIlibSapBigDecimal.jar' -cf 'SD CardMI
    lfont.txt' -cf 'SD CardMIcreme_listOfJars.txt' com.sap.ip.me.core.Startup '-home:/SD Card/MI'+
    9. Click on the MobileEngine.lnk file
    10.CreMe and MI should load.
But when I gave the URL "http://localhost:4444/me...." a pop up message displaying as Cannot Connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings.
Can any please suggest how to install these in SD card.
    Regards,
    Murthy.

    Hi Murthy,
this error is a usual thing!
You installed MI on the SD card. Problem with the WinCE operating system: the files in the startup folder are processed, before the SD card is available. So you want to start Creme, but the creme is on SD card and the sd card is not available. Unfortunately this is the problem.
Well, either you start the MI link manually after restarting the PDA from the startup folder. When you can do that the SD card is available as well and then it should wor fine. If it is not working, then you have done some errors in the configuration (misstypo), but usually ths is the problem. Make t worse: this error occures only in 90% of the PDAs, 10% of the PDAs work absolutely fine
On the other hand, use it like Victor said - but even then you could run into problems, cause Creme tries to start files in the MI folder. But cause Creme itself needs some time to init, usually this works fine.
Hope this explains you the reaon of your problem.
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • Airport Client Monitor for Intel

It appears that the ever-useful Airport Client Monitor does not work on Intel Macs. Am I wrong - is there a universal version?
I've just found a donationware utility "AP Grapher" that may be a useful substitute available here:
    http://www.chimoosoft.com/products/apgrapher/
I've been testing for a day so far. It looks good - I think a donation is deserved. I've only glanced at the "stumbler" function, but that looks good too.
    From the Macreviewcast
"AP Grapher is a freeware tool for plotting the strength of a network as a function of time. AP Grapher has received a recent (Dec 06) update to Universal Binary along with some performance enhancements. It now does all the stuff that the Airport Client Monitor does as well as what MacStumbler does in one tool. The most valuable part is the time domain plot of Airport link characteristics. The plot will record data for as much as half an hour."

this would appear to the the problem.
Actually, NONE of the older tools that report on wireless networks or status work anymore.
iStumbler has been fixed. I imagine that the rest will get fixed in time.

  • AirPort Client Monitor

Apple's utility AirPort Client Monitor (version 1.0, 2004/04/06, PowerPC) crashes on my MacBook running OS X 10.5.7. Given its age, that doesn't surprise me too much. Has Apple released anything newer that might provide similar functionality? Does the AirPort Utility's "Logs and Statistics" pane with the "Wireless Clients" tab do an equivalent job?
On the topic of AirPort monitors, MacStumbler 0.75b (the newest one from 2003-07-14) is also crashing. I guess it's also a lost cause.

Have you tried any of the following to see if they will do what you are looking for?
    o Air Radar
That utility is shareware. Apple's AirPort Client Monitor was free. I was also wondering if Apple itself had a utility to replace AirPort Client Monitory.
    o AP Grapher
That looks like it could be useful. That link also showed me something new to me about Apple's Web site. I knew about apple.com/support/downloads, but not that Apple's Web site offered downloads of third-party utilities.
    o iStumbler
I have that installed on my computer. However, at 28 months old, it may start showing its age at some point.
Thanks for the AP Grapher reference.

  • Aperture, dual monitor, x800 card help

I am adding a 30" monitor to my current 20" monitor for a dual monitor setup. The x800 card has an ADC and a DVI port. I'm assuming only the DVI port is dual channel so I guess the 30" has to go there. My 20 inch is also a DVI hookup, do I just get an ADC to DVI converter?
Also do I slow things down at all now that the card has to control two big monitors? Can the x800 control these two monitors adequately, Aperture taxes the GPU a lot - will this slow down at all?
Also what happens with calibration? I have the GMB Eye-one. Do I calibrate each monitor separately or (if I recall) only calibrate the 30" and let the 20" stay uncalibrated for palettes and such.
    -Thanks

    similar setup here ...
the 30" is on the DVI port and the 23" is on the ADC using a belkin ADC to DVI connector ...
i calibrate using a spyder pro ... when i calibrate, i calibrate one monitor and save the profile with the size in the name - short term memory is very short ... the under displays->arrange i drag the menu bar to the other screen and it makes that the primary and i calibrate it - again with the size thingy ... i then switch the arrangement back and presto chango i have to rearrange most of my desktop icons - haha ... otherwise everythign is fantastic ... just make sure you turn on the monitors and let them warm up for an hour min - 2 is better for the 30" ...
so you leave one uncalibrated if youd like, as you create a profile for each ...
i have seen no slowdown since adding the 30" a few weeks ago ... and i work with 5D (~75%) and 20D RAW files ...

  • Client Monitor Dropping Frames with a GTX 570?

I have a 2 monitor setup which are both connected to my GTX 570. I edit on one monitor and play HD video full screen on the client monitor. The video was shot on my Panasonic GH2. Premiere Pro CS5.5 would play this video silky smooth but CS6 drops frames so badly that I woldnt be surprised if it was playing 12 frames per sec.
When I turn off CUDA accleration the video plays a lot smoother.
Is anybody else having this problem?
P.S. I have the latest Premiere Pro update os 6.0.1 and I am using the latest Nvidia drivers. I even installed the older drivers that I was using with CS5.5 and the video is still dropping frames like crazy.

This is a known problem with AVCHD and maybe other codecs. The new 6.0.1 helps but does not completely eliminate the playback problem, which I see especially after scrubbing.  Maybe your video is more compressed than mine is.  See also This thread

  • Client monitor for iMac running premier pro 6

Any suggestions on what to use to connect a client monitor to a iMac running premier pro 6

I think I just asked a similar question: Monitoring solutions
This is what I was looking at for the iMac: Blackmagic Design: Intensity
You might want to check it plays nice with an iMac and Premiere. I'm still in the early research phase myself.

  • Is Error Code Monitor, Video Card or something else?

I'm getting the code two short and one long from the monitor power light. The FAQ calls it a backlight error and suggests checking connections. I have done that. I have also reseated the card. Then used sensitive parts cleaner to spray into the slot, the edge of the card and the connection both on the the card and monitor. The monitor grades from dark to lighter top to bottom. I can sometimes solve this by disconnecting the monitor while the computer is running then reconnect. I know that's bad, but it sometimes works. The monitor will look fine as long as the computer runs or does not go to sleep. Either way, when it wakes up or restarts the problem returns. Is this monitor, video card, or do I need a new one?
    Thanks in advance for help.

Hi and thanks for the speedy reply. No chance on coverage. This is an original G5 with the 1.6 processor purchased in 2003. I bought it used about a year ago. I don't mind buying a new monitor if that's what it is. Right now the monitor is working because I just unplugged and replugged it in. That's why I'm thinking video card, but I just don't know enough about Macs.

my Graphics Card use Dvi or mini Hdmi, so which kind of Adapter to use and want full Resolution.
    Thx.
p.s sry english not my first.^^)

First of all, what do you mean by plug in one set of speakers on your PC? if am not mistaken the card has 3 plugs for a default 5. surround sound. Yes your card can do 5. surround soud, but for that you need to have the 5. surround sound speakers, otherwise well it won't be 5. To get any audio from your TV, or Satelite Box, you need these items and ste
    ps.
Make sure your TV or satelite box has 2 RCA's female plugs labeled (Output) to deli'ver the sound to another device *(from your Satelite or TV to the now dead 5. surround sound)? 2. Your computer must be on at ALL times to transmit (or play) the sound from your TV or satelite box. 3 you need a?Y?RCA to 3.5mm plug jack cable (they are at allMart or Bull'sEye stores for 2$. its a cable that has the 2 male RCA's 's white 's red at one end, the other end will have the classic headphone jack *(you can always use this cable to transmit any audio coming from any device such as MP3, CD, DVD, Laptop, TV, and many other devices to your 5. surround sound in the living room or the computer) 4. Plug the Y RCA in the input port in your Audigy2Zs sound card. Make sure the Mic, and AUX are on mute, and that the Line In volume is at 70% and your TV, Satelite Box audio is at 50%. If its too low volume watch out, you'll be controling about?4 volume settings *(the TV or Satelite Box, the Line-In, Master Volume on the sound card, and Speaker Volume) 5 Sit back and enjoy!
