[VENDOR BUG] AND OFFICE 2010 issue Taskbar grouping Outlook 2010 and other applications grouping together.
i am currently using office 2010 and filesite 8.5 sp2 or sp3 and experiencing the same issue with the icon grouping in the taskbar in all the threads i have read the responses state that the solution was to upgrade to office 2010 well that might have been good
and well for most cases but it seems the issue is still relevant in regards to office 2010 pro plus. We were using office 2010 standard and it turned out that we had licenses for pro plus so we had to true up as per Microsoft and in doing so this
revealed an unknown issue we had not previously experienced.
To get to the point i'm using office 2010 and filesite in conjunction with one another and experiencing the same issue that has been discussed on multiple different threads and unfortunately attorneys do not like to hear answers that do not solve their problems.
specially in an environment where we have close to 1000 users this may potentially affect.
Has anyone experienced this and/or found a solution to it in the specific situation i am explaining. (use of filesite 8.5 Sp2 or Sp3 and office 2010 pro plus mainly outlook 2010 pro plus.)
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
When did this issue started? Was there any changes in your side? Like add-in version update? Or other updates?
Is it possible to disable all the other add-ins only keep filesite enabled, check if the Office is still“grouping
in the taskbar”? Then we could enable the add-ins one by one. Though this we could identify if there are add-ins conflicts.
Does this “grouping in the taskbar” issue only occur when we have filesite installed? If so, it would be better that you post this issue in filesite support channel to
get more insightful support.
Thank you for your understanding.

I can't get the iCloud Contacts and Calendar folders to appear in Outlook 2010 using the iCloud Control Panel. Also the datafile share which ends in .aplzod is not created in Outlook. The Contacts and Calendar are sent to iCloud (verified on iCloud.com) but the iCloud folders are not created in Outlook in the Contacts and Calendar navigation panes. I get a message toward the end of the sync process indicating that there was an unspecified error. I'm using the newest version of the iCloud Control Panel, the 32 bit version of Outlook 2010, Windows 7 64 bit, an iPhone 3GS, and the latest version of iTunes. Any ideas how to complete the sync process to the end?
Pretty much the same for me: Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 2010, iCloud Control Panel 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS. Error report at end of setup process is shown below, and has been emailed. Any help please?

After reinstalling operating system Windows 7, I lost apps and can no longer sync with Outlook 2010?
apps are stored in
C:\Users\<your account name>\Music\iTunes\Mobile Applications
their extensions are .Ipa you can try doing a search on your harddisk
unless you formattet it when you reinstalled
but an app can only ever be bought 1 times on an appleID so if you try to buy them again it will give you a free download of the app and not charge you
about sync then if you connect the ipad and click info tab and set it to sync your outlook data it should sync without any problems -
I am using Office for MAC 2008, when I switch to other applications on my MAC, to copy and paste something for instance and then go back to Office window it never brings me back to the window/worksheet I was working on. I have to click on the Window tab in excell for instance, but my window is ticked but not appearing. I then have to click on one of the other open files and then click back to the sheet I was working on for it to appear. Can any one tell me why?
Does that happen only on web pages that are running a Flash presentation? <br />
When Flash "steals focus" from Firefox, you need to click outside the Flash presentation in the browser window, to regain focus in Firefox. A major problem arises when the Flash presentation is in the entire browser window, though. The Firefox developers are working on fixing that in Firefox, but it doesn't look like a fix is going to make it into Firefox 4.0, though. -
Office 365 email deployment using Outlook 2010 and PRF files
Hi,
I've been struggling to get Outlook 2010 setup with a new Office 365 deployment. I would like to use custom PRF files to get the new Outlook profiles configured. I have more than 100 users.
One of PRF files I'm using is shown at the end of this message. Each user will get a custom PRF file with his/her information already configured (mailbox, server name, etc...). I've obtained the corresponding Exchange server using:
Get-Mailbox <email> | select ExchangeGUID
I've attached the domain at the end of the GUID and then that's the Exchange server. It matches what you get with Outlook using Autodiscover.
Using these PRF fies I'm able to create a new default profile and set all the parameters as if I had create the profile manually. Two problems here though:
1) I don't know what to change in the PRF file to set the Logon Network Security to Anonymous Authentication under the Security tab (Exchange account properties)
2) When Outlook asks me for the username and password, it won't take it, and I know I'm using the right credentials. If I create the profile manually (not using Autodiscover) and I use the same configuration parameters in the PRF file, everything is ok. I have
already run all the updates and tools that come as part of Setup Desktop in Office 365. Actually I get the same results with Outlook 2013.
I'm looking for some help here or ideas how to roll Office 365 without having to go user by user and creating a new profile and waiting for Autodiscover to finish :)

happens. 1 week later and probably 100 hours later I am just going to create a simple how-to for each user.
Here is the link I just found explaining the "virtual connection points". http://www.blackmanticore.com/2c209fbaa93ae6cf8f8dac5b50281f2e
I'm sure NEXT YEAR Microsoft will catch up with itself and add this option/feature in the Office Customization Tool to create PRF files that will actually work with their services. -
Bug: Auto-archive does not work in Outlook 2010
The Auto-Archive feature does not seem to work. In my case, I'm creating a mail folder in my inbox and setting the auto archival to "2 weeks, then delete". I run Auto Archival manually. It seems to progress without any error, but I know better.
It should take the process more than a few minutes to process the mail I have stored up for almost a year. No error and my mail has been untouched.
I noticed this thread in the Outlook 2010 beta forums
I'm having the same issue. I'd like this bug fixed if possible? I keep archival folders to manage my mail.Hi Canovac,
Auto Archive works as expected in my environment. I noticed you said that you created a new mail folder in your inbox. Did you just create the folder and move the mail to that folder? Auto archive looks at modified date and if you
move the mail to that folder that changed the modified date so the mail will not archive.
To determine the modified date, do the following:
While on the folder in question:
Click View > View Settings > Columns
In the Select available columns from dropdown choose
All Mail Fields locate Modifed in the Available colums: and click
Add
If the mail has not been modified within the last two week span, please test the following for me.
Start Outlook with the /safe switch and then run Auto-Archive.
Does auto-archive work when starting with the /safe switch?

Contacts and Calendar not sync'ing with Outlook 2010
All was fine today until (maybe coincidental - maybe not) I had a Microsoft Exchange email account added to my Outlook 2010. I have an iPhone 4, and I usually sync daily, especially when calendar or contact changes take place. I am currently not using the icloud, so all contacts and calendar events would be way too outdated.
I have checked my Outlook settings under "info" and cannot get my contacts and address to load. I even see the "Contacts syncing"..."calendar sync'ing" when the overall iTunes sync takes place with my iPhone.
Help!!Yes, it is. Do you have Desktop Manager v6?
Download Desktop Manager from here:

Can't set up email on Iphone and Mac at same time with Outlook 2010
I installed outlook 2010 on a Mac and set up the email account. When I added the email account to my iphone my outlook stopped working. Gave me the error "Trying to get mailbox lock from process". I deleted my iphone account and my outlook email worked
Hello afrost24,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like your account may have been setup using POP, see the following article:

N8 and OVI suite no sync with Outlook 2010 calenda...
Hi I have been trying to sync my calendar with my work computer now for two weeks since purchasing the N8.
It is running Windows 7 enterprise (32 bit) and MS Outlook 2010.
OVI suite ( version 3.1.0.91) recognizes the N8 OK, but I cannot sync Calendar and notes. I keep seeing the message that Outlook is not installed on the computer.
I have tried many of the suggestions from this forum without success. I have even installed PC Suite 7.1.30.9 which also recognizes the N8 and even allows the manual sync operation to be initiated, but no data (appointments) are transferred in either direction.
Please can someone help me?
I know it can be made to work as my home computer which runs a home version of Windows 7 (64 bit) and Outlook 2010 seems to sync correctly. I cannot work out what the difference is.
I have already tried PC Suite cleaner and several reinstalls. My excellent old E66 phone can still sync quite successfully on both computers
Solved!
Go to Solution.Me too:
1. Windows XP SP3 included on a Windows 2003 server domain
2. Outlook 2010 (14.0.5128.5000 (32 bits)) connected with Exchange 2003 server.
3. OVI 3.1.1.85
(Installed in this order)
When I try synchronize calendar & tasks, OVI tell me that I need Windows Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. But I have Outlook. -
Quick Parts from Word 2010 not available in Outlook 2010?
Kinda feel daft asking this...
If I type a Autotext (Quick Part) in Word 2010 it doesn't seem to be available in Outlook 2010 and vice versa. Each program seems to be using it's own default template. Saving it to Building Blocks.dotx also makes no difference.
From what I've found looking around the internet it seems this is intentional and the only way to get me AutoText from Word 2010 is to copy the Normal.dotm to NormalEmail.dotm is this right?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Your question is not daft! You are right in that there are two templates that are used for Quick Parts. Indeed very annoying because why would you have to insert the same autotext twice right? Unfortunately this is how we stand now.

I now have 2 IPOD touches , 1 8 GB,1 32G plus an IPAD 2 that I've been having syncing issues with.
my Dell D830 Latitude w/windows XP. I use outlook calendar and contacts, and the syncing is not
completely syncing the outlook information. Help?Yes. Just sync them to the same iTunes library. iTunes will keep track of each so you can put what you want on each. I do this with a 3G and iPad2. Note that each device will have it's own backup.

Analyzer for Excel and Office 2007: Issue on Data Refresh and Parameters
Hi all,
for a customer BIP workshop I want to prepare a demo and experience a strange issue. Hope this is known and bugfix or workaround exists.
Created a very simple demo report with two columns and a numeric parameter. Called Excel Analyzer, the document opens correctly in Excel, data are filtered properly using the parameters initial value. I always have to log in to BI Publisher Server first, when a new instance of Excel is opened.
Then I choose 'Show parameters' from the BIP add-on menu. My parameter is shown with its correct inital value. But: After pressing 'Refresh Data' (regardless if parameter value has been changed or not), a VBA error message (Code 1004) occurs. Then the excel cursor remains hourglass and no BIP related function is available in this opened Excel instance anymore.
And another thing: After choosing 'Show Parameters' there appears a new empty column under 'Report Parameters' and the first cells of the table data are overwritten with parameter values.
Think, something goes wrong there with Excel 2007. Unfortunately I only can use this version.
Thanks in advance for hints. If I cannot fix this until Friday, customer will probably not be exalted by BIP :( .
Edited by: KaiMoeller on 10.08.2009 23:57 'typos'fschulze,
I face the same issue in Excel 2003: Run-time error 91, Object variable or With block variable not set.
This happens everytime when I try to refresh the data after I open a saved excel template. But the refresh works fine when the report is initially downloaded using the Analyzer for Excel button
Have you found the workaround for this problem ?
Thanks. -
This new Family Sharing idea is great on the surface, but without some management tools to fix problems its worthless. Case in point - somehow, when my wife and I upgraded our iPads to 8.0.2, I decided to become the organizer, since my Apple ID is the one that does all the purchases. But somehow, while I was setting up my wife's Apple ID with iCloud (she was originally set up with my iCloud id), I became a part of her Family Sharing plan with *her* becoming the organizer. Now I'm the organizer on my iPad with her as a member, and she's the Family Sharing organizer on her iPad with me as a member!
I've tried everything, including erasing both iPads and even creating new Apple ids for the both of us, but both Family Sharing accounts just reappear out of nowhere when we reboot. Is there any way to get rid of both our Family Sharing accounts so we can start over again?
Thanks
MIkeThere are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon. -
Can't add Office Online Services account to Outlook 2010
Yesterday, one of our employees changed his webmail password, what it's necessary when that password expires, every three months. But now Outlook don't accept his new password.
I've checked the password again, changed it to another one, deleted the email profile from windows and created another one, but without success...
Have someone any advice to solve this? Thanks in advance!Hi,
What is the error message that you get when Outlook doesn't accept the new password? What is the account type?
The issue may be caused by the corrupted credentials cache, I suggest you remove the credentials from Windows Credentials Manager, then re-add the account to Outlook, check if then the new password can be accepted:
1. Launch the Credential Manager (from [Control Panel] and [User Settings])
2. In the Windows Credentials
section you’ll see a setting for [MS Outlook]. Click the downward-pointing arrow to the right of that value
3. The section will expand to show further details. Under those details is a link to Remove from vault. Click this and Outlook will no longer have a stored copy of your password
Hope this helps.

Office 14.1.4 killed outlook sync and data
Updated office 2011 14.1.4 a few hours ago. Killed the sync between outlook and ical etc. as well as all data (calender and contacts) in ical and adress book and subsequently all respective data on my iphone.
Seems to be one of these fabulous performance updates by microsoft.
Any ideas or similar experience? This forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and not related to Microsoft Office in any way.
