Vendor Debit Memo

Hi Guys
I have a scenario - where after MIRO and invoicing has happened, we do a return delivery to the vendor through MIGO {A02 return delivery, R02 material document}....
My question is, this does not impact the open AP postings right? and to make the open item reduced for the vendor, would I have to do an FB65 to make sure the open AP amount is reduced?
Or would doing MR11, facillate the correction of the FI postings?
Thank you
Rukshana

Dear
In MIRO screen credit memo option is there for reversal of invoice at header pls check

  • Credit and Debit Memo (Vendor and Customer)

    Hi Team,
Credit Memo raised means - Debit to SAP/Company and Credit to Vendor/Customer?
Debit Memo raised means - Credit to SAP/Company and debit to Vendor/Customer?
    Is this understanding is correct?
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
    Case Vendor:
Invoice : We receive goods and vendor is credited for the same. Goods and hence GR/IR a/c are involved.
Subsequent Debit : We receive goods and value addition to the received goods already invoiced is given by vendor. Here value direct debited to goods and credited to vendor. No GR/IR a/c involved.
Credit Memo : Goods return to vendor in case of damage or something. Here goods are involved. Vendor debit occurs and debit note is to be raised. Here GR/IR a/c is also affected.
Subsequent Credit : Here goods are not returned. Only value reduction of already invoiced goods. (in case of discount or something). Here GR/IR a/c not involved. Vendor debited and material is credited. Debit note is to be raised.
    Hope it helps

  • BAPI to park Debit Note (Vendor credit memo) Doc Type: 'KG'

    Hi All,
A friend of mine desperately needs to know any BAPI for parking Debit Note (Doc.type : KG Vendor credit memo)... Please let me know if you know about any BAPI / Funcation module to do it and a little chunk of sample code will surely help me a lot....
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,

    Hi Savitha,
Well, we have experiemented with this BAPI "BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_PARK" earlier, but we found out that it dose not work properly for Service Orders; also it dose not seem to post proper debit note. Anyways, we have used another BAPI "BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST", it worked but it posts the debit note (Vendor Credit Memo) but we only want to park the debit note and let the user review it and then the user can post it manually or so afterwards...

    Hi
A Billing type is cancelled by its Cancellation Billing Type, which is specified in the Billing Type details screen (VOFA).
In standard, Credit memo(G2) is cancelled by Cancellation Billing type(S2).
So, check in VOFA for billing type G2, whether Cancellation billing type S2 has been proposed/maintained.
Create cancellation (VF11) for G2 and system by default will create S2 type of Billing.

  • How to create Debit Memo in SAP.

    Hi Experts !
We wanted to create a debit memo even after closing a purchase order i.e. payment is made to vendor. These debit memos are mainly related with pricing differences and overshooted logistics cost. We can make use of Subsequent cr/dr function, but it requires an invoice/credit memo from vendor and we can enter this as subsequent credit/debit. But in our case we need to send a debit note to the vendor. Remember it has to affect A/P and Cost accounts in this transaction.  I request  you to kindly help me in this regard.

    hai chalam,
you can create a debit memo to the vendor after closing the po also.
Under Financial Management --> you will find create credit memo in that you will find document type for debit memo, enter document type,  like that u can create debit memo
if vendor is one time vendor he will returns the amount as per debit memo,  or if he is a regular vendor it will be converted as down payments or amount will be reduced in the next invoice.
    hope this will help You.

    4) if credit/debit memo not created in fb75/fb70, where in sd can create?
    5) credit/debit memo request done via which tcode if not va01.
    thanks

    Hi Eliana,
    1. A transaction that reduces Amounts Receivable from a customer is a credit memo. For eg. The customer could return damaged goods.  A debit memo is a transaction that reduces Amounts Payable  to a vendor because, you send damaged goods back to your vendor.
    2. Credit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a credit memo for a customer. If the price calculated for the customer is too high, for example, because the wrong scale prices were used or a discount was forgotten, you can create a credit memo request. The credit memo request is blocked for further processing so that it can be checked. If the request is approved, you can remove the block. The system uses the credit memo request to create a credit memo.
You can use credit memos in Sales and Distribution (SD) for assigning credit memo requests to the open invoices and in Financial Accounting (FI) for assigning  credit memos and payments to the open invoices and carry out clearing with them.  If you use both Financial Accounting (FI) and Sales and Distribution (SD),  there is a 1:1 relationship between the credit memo request and the credit memo item posted in Financial Accounting (FI). As soon as you bill the credit memo request together with other sales orders, or distribute the items of one credit memo request to several billing documents, the assignment is no longer valid and the system will not process it.
For  credit memos, credit memo requests, and payments, you have the following assignment options:
    - Assignment to a single invoice
    - Assignment of a partial amount to an invoice
    - Assignment to several invoices
When you post  credit memos, the payment programme processes them automatically. If the credit memo is specifically related to a particular open invoice item, the payment program automatically attempts to offset the credit memo against the open item. If it is not possible to completely offset the credit memo against an invoice, you can post a debit memo to the vendor, who is to reimburse the amount.  Then you can apply a multilevel dunning program.
    3.  Debit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a debit memo for a customer. If the prices calculated for the customer were too low, for example, calculated with the wrong scaled prices, you can create a debit memo request. The debit memo request can be blocked so that it can be checked. When it has been approved, you can remove the block. It is  like a standard order. The system uses the debit memo request to create a debit memo.
    4.  As mentioned above, creating a credit or debit memo request enables you to create credit or debit memos based on a complaint. For this first create a sales document with the order type for a credit or debit memo  request. You can create the debit  or credit memo requests in the following ways:
    – Without reference to an order
    – With reference to an existing order
Here you enter which order the complaint refers to.
    – With reference to an invoice
Here you enter which invoice the complaint refers to.
In all cases, you specify the value or quantity that should be in the credit or debit memo
    5. You can block the credit or debit memo  request from being billed in Customizing. Go to Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales document header -> Define sales document type and select the billing block field in the billing section.  This request can later be reviewed along with similar ones, - if necessary, by another department. The request for a credit or debit memo  can then be approved or rejected.
Credit memo and debit memo is created used the T.Code VF01, in which we have to choose the billing type as Credit Memo or Debit Memo.
Credit Memo Request or Debit Memo request are created using T.Code VA01, in which we have to select document type as G2 or L2.
Hope this gives you some idea.

  • Credit Memo and Debit Memo in AP and AR

    Hi ,
Can some please explain the difference between debit memo, credit memo in AP and AR. Please explain with examples......
    Regards,
    Anil

    Hello.
A CM in AP represents a credit in your favour, normally issue by your vendor, with the following accounting:
    DR Liability
    CR Cost
You can deduct the CM by including it in a payment or, if you vendor send money to pay it, you can create a Refund payment type.
A CM in AR represent a credit in the favour of you customer, normally issue by you, with the following accounting:
    DR Revenue
    CR Receivables
Your customer, while sending you a payment, may include the CM in that payment, thus reducing it's amount.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to exclude the debit memo & credit memo out of COPA report (KE30)?

As captioned, now the current KE30 default transfers all the data from sales orders interfaces (via VA01), such as common sales order, 3rd party drop shipment, credit memo and debit memo etc.
Is there any idea to exclude the quantities display in KE30 towards Credit memo and debit memo? An user exit?
    Thanks for the great input...

    kissorkick,
You need to clear some concepts in COPA.
A similar example for you, COPA likes a supermarket, vendors supply stuff (data of billings etc) into the supermarket, then you select the stuff you want (Report result) by putting them into the shopping trolley. And KE30 likes the shopping trolley.
Now the question, do you wish the vendors do not supply certain stuff (credit meno etc) into the market or you just do not put the stuff into your shopping trolley only? Configure by Tcode KE4W for the former case or create the report in Tcode KE30 with certain selection rule for the later case.

  • Problem in Payment Run with Debit Memos

    Hi Every one
I am facing the problem in payment run in which vendor debitmemos were picked up but they are in the exception list. I was observing it in various vendors and have tested in QA that as well when there is an invoice to be paid these debit memos automatically adjustedagainst those invoice and hence net amount is being paid. The problem is these debit memos were generated in exceptional list about an year ago but at that time they were not considered in payment as they had no invoice against it to net off. But after that everytime they run payment run they come in this exceptional although there is invoice against them to net off the payment. Can any body help me out in this regard what could be the possible reason for this and any solution for this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In F110 while  enteingr the parameters in the free selection choose the document number in the Field name
and give the document numbers of only invoices. dont include the debit meoms.
then you will not get the exception list at all.
    Regards,
    Padma

  • System don't allowed vendor debit balances

    Hi SAP Gurus
How to configure the system so that it won't allowed debit balances of Vendors.I mean to say any posting for example debit memo will be stopped if the vendor balance is going in negative.
    Thanks
    Anant
Edited by: Anant Agarwal on Jan 8, 2010 4:23 AM

    Dear,
There is no standard function available for accounts payable as it is credit management for customer.. You will have to go for custom development because at the time of document posting system has to check balance in vendor account.
