  • Single Standard data source which extracts material master and vendor master data

    Hi all,
    I have a client requirement where user wants to view material master and vendor master in a single report. Is there any standard data source which extracts both the data together..
    Thanks!
    Arvind

    Hi,
    Two are different master info objects and can't get them from one data source.
    think about multi provider or  info set on two master data objects to club them.
    Info object - 0MATERIAL and  data source - 0MATERIAL_ATTR
    Info object - 0VEDNOR and data source - 0VENDOR_ATTR
    Thanks

  • Finding the Generic data source for vendor master.

    Hi,
    I am trying to find the generic data source for 0VENDOR Infoobject on R3. But I am not able to find the exact match. Can any one help me? I just started on BW!!.
    Thank you

    Hi Tippireddy,
        you want to extract the vendor information through the business content then go through the following navigation...
      T.code RSA5 -> MM-IO (Master data Materials Management in general) -> 0VENDOR_ATTR or 0VENDOR_LKLS_HIER or 0VENDOR_TEXT these three are the standard data source for vendor.

  • Creating the text data source for 0OI_LIFNR(TD: Carrier (Number of vendor a

    Hi
    Have to create the text data source for this characteristic. Basically it is the same as 0Vendor here.
    I want to make it delta enabled.
    Am creating it on the view BIW_LFA1T(same as 0vendor)
    Can anyone advise what can I use to make it delta enabled without any code.
    Can I use numeric pointer like the 0Vendor_text.
    Many Thanks and regards,
    Kate.

    when defining a data source through the admin web page, don't add '!' in front of the password.
    ! is needed only when configuring a data source in the mapViewerConfig.xml file.

  • Update Routine to populate 0VENDOR from either of the 2 data source fields

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to write an update routine for 0VENDOR based on the below logic :
    Create routines to populated BW Info Object u201CVendoru201D (0VENDOR) based on the following logic:
    IF field u201CVendoru201D (ITM_VENDOR_ID) is populated from data source 0BBP_SC_TD_1, THEN populate 0VENDOR with that value
    ELSE IF u201CPreferred Vendoru201D (ITM_PROPVEN_ID) is populated from data source 0BBP_SC_TD_1, THEN populate 0VENDOR with that value
    ELSE IF neither u201CVendoru201D (ITM_VENDOR_ID) or u201CPreferred Vendoru201D (ITM_PROPVEN_ID) are populated from data source 0BBP_SC_TD_1, then 0VENDOR = NULL
    Can anyone help me in converting this logic into ABAP routine.
    Thanks,
    Suchitra

    Hi Suchitra,
    In the Transfer Rules ... You will be mapping each field then the mapping field click on the button with Triangle then you can see the which type you want.
    Then select the routine and select the datasource fields (don't forget to select the both fields VENDOR and PROPITM)...
    Then give a name to routine ...
    and in the code just change the COMM_STRUCTURE to TRANSFER_STRUCTURE.
    Then you can get this .... done..

  • Difference between 2 AP Data Sources

    Hi guys
    We are on ECC6 and BI 7...We have to developed a data model for 6 reports with 0IF_AP_4 Data Source for Procurement...also for one of FI report (Vender Spint) we need to know whether we can use the same data source 0FI_AP_4 or we need to use the 0FI_AP_6 which is already delivered for Vendor Spend report ..But If we want to use AP_6 Data source we need to enhance this Data source with PRCTR as we need it for our reporting requirement..So we didnt find the corresponding table for it ..When we enhanced it with BSEG table, we are unable to populate the PRCTR with the keys in both extractor and DS..
    Now In our AP_4 DS we already have PRCTR available (We enhanced it with BSEG)...and all fields are available for vendor Spend Report...But Our concern is Whether AP_6 and AP_4 will produce the same data...?/ Is there any thing we miss if we use AP_4 for Vendor Spend? If we can simply use AP_4 DS for Vendor spend Report..what is the use of AP_6 ..Why SAP Delivered a complete flow from DS to Cube for Standard Vendor Spend report?
    Any guidelines please...
    Thanks in advance

  • Reports fail when run against a different data source

    Hello,
    We have a VB.NET 2008 WinForms application running on Microsoft .NET 3.5. We are using Crystal Reports 2008 runtime, service pack 3 -- using the CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer in the app to view reports. In the GAC on all our client computers, we have versions 12.0.1100.0 and 12.0.2000.0 of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, CrystalDecisions.Shared, and CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.
    Please refer to another one of our posted forum issues, u201CCritical issue since upgrading from CR9 to CR2008u201D, as these issues seem to be related:
    Critical issue since upgrading from CR9 to CR2008
    We were concerned with report display slow down, and we seemed to have solved this by using the Oracle Server driver (instead of either Microsoft's or Oracle's OLEDB driver).  But now we must find a resolution to another piece of the puzzle, which is:  why does a report break if one data source is embedded in the .rpt file is different than the one you are trying to run the report against, in the .NET Viewer?
    Problem:
    If you have a production database name (e.g. "ProdDB") embedded in your .rpt file that you built your report from and try to run that report against a development database (e.g. "DevDB") (OR VICE VERSA -- it is the switch that is the important concept here), the report fails with a list of messages such as this:
        Failed to retrieve data from the database
        Details:  [Database vendor code: 6550 ]
    This only seems to happen if the source of the report data (i.e. the underlying query) is an Oracle stored procedure or a Crystal Reports SQL Command -- the reports run fine against all data sources if the source is a table or a view).  In trying different things to troubleshoot this, including adding a ReportDocument.VerifyDatabase() call after setting the connection information, the Crystal Reports viewer will spit out other nonsensical errers regarding being unable to find certain fields (e.g. "The field name is not known), or not able to find the table (even though the source data should be coming from an Oracle stored procedure, not a table).
    When the reports are run in the Crystal Reports Designer, they run fine no matter what database is being used; but the problem only happens while being run in the .NET viewer.  It's almost as if something internally isn't getting fully "set" to the new data source, or something -- we're really grasping at straws here.
    For the sake of completeness of information, here is how we're setting the connection information
            '-- Set database connection info for the main report
            For Each oConnectionInfo In oCrystalReport.DataSourceConnections
                oConnectionInfo.SetConnection(gsDBDataSource, "", gsDBUserID, gsDBPassword)
            Next oConnectionInfo
            '-- Set database connection info for each subreport
            For Each oSubreport In oCrystalReport.Subreports
                For Each oConnectionInfo In oSubreport.DataSourceConnections
                    oConnectionInfo.SetConnection(gsDBDataSource, "", gsDBUserID, gsDBPassword)
                Next oConnectionInfo
            Next oSubreport
    ... but in troubleshooting, we've even tried an "overkill" approach and added this code as well:
            '-- Set database connection info for each table in the main report
            For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.Database.Tables
                With oTable.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo
                    .ServerName = gsDBDataSource
                    .UserID = gsDBUserID
                    .Password = gsDBPassword
                    For Each oPair In .LogonProperties
                        If UCase(CStr(oPair.Name)) = "DATA SOURCE" Then
                            oPair.Value = gsDBDataSource
                            Exit For
                        End If
                    Next oPair
                End With
                oTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(oTable.LogOnInfo)
            Next oTable
            '-- Set database connection info for each table in each subreport
            For Each oSubreport In oCrystalReport.Subreports
                For Each oTable In oSubreport.Database.Tables
                    With oTable.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo
                        .ServerName = gsDBDataSource
                        .UserID = gsDBUserID
                        .Password = gsDBPassword
                        For Each oPair In .LogonProperties
                            If UCase(CStr(oPair.Name)) = "DATA SOURCE" Then
                                oPair.Value = gsDBDataSource
                                Exit For
                            End If
                        Next oPair
                    End With
                    oTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(oTable.LogOnInfo)
                Next oTable
            Next oSubreport
    ... alas, it makes no difference.  If we run the report against a database that is different than the one specified with "Set Datasource Location" in Crystal, it fails with nonsense errors

    Thanks for the reply, Ludek.  We have made some breakthroughs, uncovered some Crystal bugs and workarounds, and we're probably 90% there I hope.
    For your first point, unfortunately the information on the Oracle 6550 error was generic, and not much help in our case.  And for your second point, the errors didn't have anything to do with subreports at that time -- the error would manifest itself even in a simple, one-level report.
    However, your third point (pointing us to KB 1553921) helped move us forward quite a bit more.  For the benefit of all, here is a link to that KB article:
    Link: [KB 1553921|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333533353333333933323331%7D.do]
    We downloaded the tool referenced there, and pointed it at a couple of our reports.  The bottom line is that the code it generated uses a completely new area of the Crystal Reports .NET API which we had not used before -- in the CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer namespace.  Using code based on what that RasConnectionInfo tool generated, we were able gain greater visibility into some of the objects in the API and to uncover what I think qualifies as a genuine bug in Crystal Reports.
    The CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ISCRTable class exposes a property called QualifiedName, something that isn't exposed by the more commonly-used CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table class.  When changing the data source with our old code referenced above (CrystalDecisions.Shared.ConnectionInfo.SetConnection), I saw that Crystal would actually change the Table.QualifiedName from something like "SCHEMAOWNER.PACKAGENAME.PROCNAME" to just "PROCNAME" (essentially stripping off the schema and package name).  Bad, Crystal...  VERY BAD!  IMHO, Crystal potentially deserves to be swatted on the a** with the proverbial rolled-up newspaper.
    I believe this explains why we were also able to generate errors indicating that field names or tables were not found -- because Crystal had gone and changed the QualifiedName to remove some key info identifying the database object!  So, knowing this and using the code generated by the RasConnectionInfo tool, we were able to work around this bug with code that worked for most of our reports ("most" is the key word here -- more on that in a bit).
    So, first of all, I'll post our new code.  Here is the main area where we loop through all of the tables in the report and subreports:
    '-- Replace each table in the main report with new connection info
    For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.Database.Tables
        oNewTable = oTable.Clone()
        oNewTable.ConnectionInfo = GetNewConnectionInfo(oTable)
        oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.SetTableLocation(oTable, oNewTable)
    Next oTable
    '-- Replace each table in any subreports with new connection info
    For iLoop = 0 To oCrystalReport.Subreports.Count - 1
        sSubreportName = oCrystalReport.Subreports(iLoop).Name
        For Each oTable In oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.SubreportController.GetSubreportDatabase(sSubreportName).Tables
            oNewTable = oTable.Clone()
            oNewTable.ConnectionInfo = GetNewConnectionInfo(oTable)
            oCrystalReport.ReportClientDocument.SubreportController.SetTableLocation(sSubreportName, oTable, oNewTable)
        Next oTable
    Next iLoop
    '-- Call VerifyDatabase() to ensure that the tables update properly
    oCrystalReport.VerifyDatabase()

  • Data extraction from transctional data source

    Hi all,
             In bw 3.5 I am fetching data from r3 , vendor evolution(2LIS_02_S013) is name of that data source it is   transaction type data source at that time  data source(2LIS_02_S013) successfully replicate in bw
    after it i make infoarea and its charactics and attribute and then create application component and create infosource but when i assign that data source to my infosource it can't show in pop-up or say i am unable to assign it
    can anybody tel me why i am unable to assign transactional data source to my infosource

    Ok what does it say when you try to assign InfoSource? Can you tell me more.
    In the InfoSource Just on top of Transfer Structure there should be Assign DS Button click on this and assign DataSource or else Right Click on the DS and Assign InfoSource.(If you have IS created)

  • Connection/data source caching in JSC App Server?

    Tried to change the data source for one of my apps (changed all data sources on all row sets). I got a connection error despite the fact that the IDE could see the data source.
    I restarted the app server to no avail.
    I finally stopped the app server AND restarted JSC and eveything started working again (except for the Conversion error I'm tracking down :-) ...

    Did the connection error occur at runtime ?
    If so, then it's not recommended to change the datasource
    especially if you change databases. It's not impossible to make
    the changes - you need to edit the Page bean constructor and the
    constructor in the SessionBean and anywhere else you
    initialize the rowset with the URL.
    If you changed the database, then because vendors
    map JDBC types differently, you may need to make
    changes . Typically you'll see conversion errors when changing
    the database.

  • Switching Data Source for a report with stored procedure

    Post Author: ysbn
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    I've created a report and deployed it on a Crystal Server. The report is based on a certain stored procedure which also exists on other DB machines in my environment (Oracle machines). When I try to switch my report object to work with other machines (not the one originally used when the report was designed) the activation of the report fails. The error I see in the preview window is:
    Error in File <my rpt file name>: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: &#91;Database Vendor Code: 6550 &#93;
    When I try the same thing with a report which is based on a view and not a stored procedure the switching of Data Source works perfectly.
    Is there a problem switching between data sources from the server when the report is based on stored procedure? Are there any configurations I need to do in order to support this scenario?
    Thanks!

    Hi everyone~
    i am now facing the same problem
    i am using CR2008 and Visual Studio 2008 c# to write a window program
    because we have 2 db environment (one is production , the other one is development) so i have set a prarameter to switch db connection in c# code.
    the database is Oracle, and the the report will connect to Oracle procedure (which it is stored in package) this procedure will return reference cursor, so the report will loop up this cursor to generate report.
    at first time, it work fine when i open the report in CR2008 designer and point to dev database (ie datasource point to oracle procedure) . but when i want to deploy this win application to client and point to prod database, it show (vendor error 6550)
    i found that i cannot change the datasource during runtime in c# code...
    am i miss something in code? here attached a part of this code...
    private void setDBLogonForReport(ConnectionInfo info, ReportDocument doc)
                Tables myTables = doc.Database.Tables;
                foreach (Table myTable in myTables)
                    TableLogOnInfo logOnInfo = myTable.LogOnInfo;
                    logOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = info;
                    logOnInfo.TableName = myTable.Name;
                    myTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(logOnInfo);
                    //myTable.Location = info.UserID + "." + "pkg_crystal_report." + myTable.Name;
                    //someone suggest i have to set the 'Location' for change the datasource, but i am not sure how to construct a
                    //string for point to oracle prcedure
    i will check it freq ... hope any expert can give me some advice ~
    thank you very much!!!

  • Even with parameters, reports reading entire data source and then filtering

    I'm working with an Oracle database (read-only access) and Crystal Reports 2008.  I have created a report and added three parameters for which I have already done all necessary steps in the select expert.  But when I do a Print preview of the report, and after selecting the parameter values, the report tries to read all of the data source records before the parameters are utilized by the report.  In other words, if the data source has 100,000 records, the report will return (in the background) all 100,000 records and then filter among these returned records to present/display the data according to the provided parameter values.  Instead, I would like it to use the parameters first so that only those records that meet the parameter value criteria are read into the report from the "get go"...Since I only have read only access to the Oracle database, I cannot write a stored procedure either...(company policy)...Can parameters be used to read in only pertaining records instead of filtering already read in records in a given report?  Is there some syntax that can be entered into a Command type connection to do this?

    I've tried that but I'm now getting an error on line 6...

  • Vendor master data upload

    how do we upload vendor master data into SAP from legacy system.can anyone give me a detailed explination.
    regards,
    deepthi

    Deepthi,
    The steps would be (in LSMW) :
    1 Create a new Project, Subproject (if not existing). Then give a name for the Object, say VendorMaster.
    2 On the next screen, you will see several steps (radio buttons) to be performed. You should go in sequential order.
    Double click the first, I think its called Maintain Object (sorry don't have access to SAP system right now)
    3 On this screen you will see various options/methods (in the second section) for loading the data.
    You may select which ever is appropriate or most suitable in your case.
    Let's assume you want to use the very first options - Standard program for Direct Input/Batch.
    4 Pull down (F4) for the Object & select Vendor Master.
    5 Pull down again for the Method & select (I think( Standard). The program name & Type will be populated by LSMW.
    If let's say none of the programs in this list satisfies your requirement, then you may decide to go for a Recording or a BAPI (again pull down & select appropriate method) or IDoc (CREMAS).
    So now you have decided on the method you want to use for posting the Vendor Master data. Save the information & go back to the main screen of the object.
    6 Double click on the next step for maintaining the Source Structure. Give the name(s) of the Source Structure(s).
    7 Next step is to define the Source Structure(s) format (fields, attributes etc).
    8 Next you maintain the relationship between the Structure(s) - Source & Target. The Target structures depend upon the method elected by you in step 5.
    9 Next will be the most important step - ie specifying the mapping/conversion rules for each Target field. You can even write ABAP code by double clicking on the field - it will open up the editor where you can put in your ABAP code. There are also several events available - for instance at the <i>Beginning of Processing</i> or <i>Beginning of Transaction</i> etc. where again you can specify your own logic.
    10 In the Next 2 steps you will give the file name & path & also associate the file(s) to the Source structure(s).
    The develoment for the object is complete. Now you are ready to read, convert & post your Vendor Master data in SAP.
    Let me know if you need additional assistance.
    Regards,
    Homiar.

  • Error importing vendor master data from ERP

    Hi experts,
    currently we are trying to import vendor master data from ERP to SAP Sourcing 9.
    We exported the data in an XML file by using the transaction BBP_ES_MAST_DOWNLOAD.
    We already imported all the dependencies like vendor account group, purchase org, regions etc. successfully.
    However, every time we are trying to import the vendor data we receive the same result:
    Data Import:
    Trace.txt:
    Do you have any hints why this happens?
    Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Johannes

    Hello Johannes,
    This looks to come from a custom script in your system.
    Go to Setup > Script Definition and check all scripts defined on class "Supplier" (starting with those on context: Import Lifecycle Event).
    Search for a script that starts with "throw doc.createApplicationException(test..."
    Regards,
    Bogdan

  • Difference between 0FI_AP_30 and 0FI_AP_4 Data source

    HI,
    What is the difference between 0FI_AP_30 and 0FI_AP_4 Data source.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    In addition to above differences. Below is the functional difference between 0FI_AP_30 & 0FI_AP_4:
    0FI_AP_4 gives you accounts payable line items in your report. Here GL account shows the balances of particular types of  vendors/payables to which that particular GL account is been assigned.
    And If subledger is activated in ECC, then by using 0FI_AP_30 you can get the break up of that particular GL balance according to vendors.
    To make use of datasource 0FI_AP_30, subledger accounting must be activated in ECC.
    Regards,
    Pradip

  • WAS 6.1 JNDI data source connection CRXI R2 Developer

    Hi all,
    I've been tasked to get a JNDI connection from a WAS 6.1 server to a Oracle DB to use in developing a report.
    The CR developer I'm using is CR Developer;Product Type: Full Product Version: 11.0.0.1282
    I have created a simple Java 'main' class to test the JNDI connection using the following jars:
    com.ibm.ws.admin.client_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.runtime_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.thinclient_6.1.0.jar
    ibmorb.jar
    ojdbc-14.jar
    rsadbutils.jar
    rsahelpers.jar
    I have been able to retrieve data from the Oracle DB through the 'main' class and display it on the console.
    However, after I set the CRConfig.xml file's classpath to use these jars, along with a jar I created that contains a jndi.properties file that contains the org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.ibm.CORBA.iiop.ORB property because the JVM that the CR developer is pointing at is a Sun 1.6 HotSpot JVM.
    When I try getting the connection, Database -> Database Expert -> Create New Connection -> JDBC (JNDI), select the JNDI Connection option and enter the relevant information, the developer finds the JNDI names that I'm looking for. Then I 'Click' the Finish button and receive the following error pop-up:
    Logon Failed.
    Details: SQL Exception: SQL State: null ERROR Message: Invalid argument(s) in callDSRA0010E: SQL State= null, Error Code = 17,068 Database Vendor Code: 17068
    I have noticed that I can replicate this error message, through the 'main' class I used to test the connection, if I remove the username/password arguments from the method I use to get the DB connection.
    Is there anything that I'm missing to successfully use this WAS data source?
    I have tested a WebLogic 10.3 connection and the CR Developer had no problem finding/using the connection?
    Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
    Below is the JDBC tag from the CRConfig.xml file that I'm using:
