Vendor Line Item Display-Default value for customer items

Is it possible in selection screen of transaction FBL1N (Vendor line item display) the default value of field "customer items" to be checked?

Hi,
I don't think this is possible. You can of course use a parameter to select the page item and default the parameter but then the user will have to rerun the report to see other pages items.

Hello,
I am trying to set the default value for a listbox where multiple items are selected.
If a single item is selected then this.getField("zzz").defaultValue = x; works fine, but you cannot use defaultValue for multiple indicies. The manual mentions the user or export events but I cannot see how that would work.
Any help will be appreciated.

Displaying default value for a field in ALV table

Hai all,
     I am having an ALV table in which I want to display Requisition number by default using a value which i generated randomly and it is stored in a variable.
While displaying ALV table my req number field should display that value by default when ever user is inserting a row( all the coloumns n my alv are editable.
Is it possible??

    I took help from ur link and i declared a global attribute request_number.
and i created an event handler ON_ALV_INSERT and did the follwing coding for giving default value wen ever am inserting new row.

      Usually in the drop-down box, 'show all values' is selected. Instead of displaying all values, the drop-down box should be set to the filter value.

are you using 7.0 or 3.x?
in 7.0 you can use the webcommands of the webTemplate.
Use Dataprovider commands and there is an option for assigning a default value.
To eliminate All Values, unchecked it for the dropdown box.

How to maintain default values for custom table fields -- Urgent

I've a requirement wherein i need to create a Z table (with maintainence view) in which i'll have date and time as two of its field which should have current date and current time as default value. Can somebody suggest as how am i to maintain the date and time fields defaulting to current date and current time.

We have a following custom table which contains the fields Date on which record was created and Name of the person who created the object. We would like to have these to be filled up with SY-DATUM and SY-UNAME respectively.

1. SE11 > utilities > table maintenance generator
2. environment > modification > event
define the event and form routine to make use of the tigger. in the form routine define an object for the class and call the relevant method.
Or u can do it as:
Table maintenance generator is basically used to do table operations like (insert, delete, modify...).
if you create table maintenance for your table it will build a module pool program, by using you do the above operations.
below is the procedure to create table maintenance generator.
1) Create one function group.
2) after activating your Ztable, choose 'Utilities'----> 'Table maintenance genrator'.
3) then give the authorization group and function group created abobe in the next screen.
4) Then choose the "create" button in your application tool bar, which will creates the module pool program.
5) then create one Tcode by chosing "Transaction with parameters( parameter transaction)".
6) in transaction field give "SM30", select the check box "Skip initial screen".
7) in the below of that screen you can find the "Default values" frame.
8) there under the "name of screen field" select the "View name' and 'update".
9) in value column against to "view name" give you table name, and against to "Update" put 'X' in capital letters.
save it then you can straight away use this newly created Tcode to maintain your table.
Note:- 1) make the modification while saving the data into your table using this newly generated program to carry out your validation (even though it looks like standard program; no need to enter the access key).
2) if you do any changes to your table and press the activate button automatically the table maintenace generator will be goes off, you need to create this again.

Default Value for Page Items

Hi,
I use page items quite heavily in my workbooks to allow the user to filter the recordsets as they require.
Some of these page items are based on dates - i.e. Extract Date (my underlying tables are updated on a daily basis, so the Extract Date soon contains several values).
Is there any way I can set the Page Item to show the latest (MAX) Extract Date when the work book is opened?

Also, when alternate sorts are in use these will generally trigger Discoverer to add the NOREWRITE hint to the SQL, which can cause horribly slow performance.
I used to use alternate sorts a lot but these days I use them very sparingly. When I want a list of values to come up in a certain order I now use a custom folder and add the ORDER BY in there. This allows the list to come up right when my users are picking and stops the NOREWRITE hint, but it also removes the alternate sorting from the display.
There are other causes for the inclusion of NOREWRITE hint but this is the main one.

How to create a display value and a return value for an item

Hi! I have an item on a form. I want the default value for my item to be :":APP_USER", but the return value, to be the id of my user. I tried to create a PL/SQL Expression for the default item, but it doesn't work. What do I miss?
It should be something like this, but it's not.

Display value and return value concept applies very well in case of a Combo box if i am correct, I don't know what type of item is your's.
But any way, you can have a workaround like,
Create a hidden item such that it's default value should be ID of the user which can be get from db by using :APP_USER.
Use the this item for your references.
I think this will meet your requirement.

Extending flash: how do I set default values for filenames

I am trying to set default values for filenames
<choosefile> and <popupslider>s that will show up when
my XMLpanel first loads in my jsfl extension file. It seems that I
can only set default values for textbox items.
How do I do this for filenames and popups?
As a workaround, I also tried using a flash object dialog box
to look like a <choosefile>, or any jsfl command, but then
how do I return those values back to the XMLpanel that calls them.
and pass the data back to my jsfl script.

Create two constants for the Allocate Mode input (right click > create > constant). Place one in the true case of the case structure, and place the other one in the false case. Wire them to the same tunnel (border of the case structure), then wire the tunnel to the Allocate Mode terminal of the AO Config. I don't have Traditional DAQ installed, but that should do it.

Our requirement is to get report for PO Line Item wise gross value for combination of WBS and Material Group. Standard report ME2J gives net price but not gross value for Material Line items. Please let me know if any standard report( or ME2J) will suffice this requirement.

How to set a default value for a page item

I am working with a facility table that has name and address information. The user can add contact name information on a separate page. Since the address for the facility and contact is usually the same, I want to add a default value for the contact address. The facility page is on 201 and the link to add a new contact row is on page 202. I showed in the default value :P201_street for the contact's address. But, when I run the page, the contact address field shows the :P201_street, not the actual facility address. What am I leaving out? Must be something obvious?!

In the default value, I showed: v('P201_STREET1') with the default value type of: PL/SQL Expression and received the following oracle error ==> Item default is not a PL/SQL expression. Use &ITEM syntax. The v('ITEM') syntax is not valid for item defaults. So I changed it to: &P201_STREET1 and got another oracle error , ERR-9132 error in PLSQL expression for item default code, item=P202_STREET1.
Any more suggestions? Thx.

Why don't you try setting the default value in the List next to the Matrix - item 107
Item 107 is a matrix (a transposed one), I have no idea what list you mean... I am using item 107, not 112. Item 112 is used only to detect a click on the "Add Record" button, which is the last row of the matrix 112.
I don't see the gender column in the grid and I'm also unsure of the id you have for it "12" - are you sure it's correct ( i usually use Item("columnName") )?
Sorry for the confusion. "12" is the name of the standard column "Password" which we have renamed to store the gender.

Defining default value for financial reports display in the workspace (9.3)

Hi
I need to change the default value for financial reports workspace preview mode, for every workspace user. It is actually set on html, and I would like to have pdf instead.
This option can be changed when logged on the workspace, in file->preferences->financial reporting->default preview mode. However I want every user to start with the right settings, so they dont have to change anything manually.
I have tried to do it with Shared Services : under projects, BI+, assign preferences. From there I can change the default folder and the start page (the general preferences), however I cannot find the options for financial reporting.
Is there a way to change these values with hyperion tools ?
If not, is it possible to change it directly in the repository DB ?Thanks and best regards

We looked at this about 2 years ago - from memory, you can only set preferences when the users are first setup in Shared Services, under the manage preferences section of the wizard.
I can't remember if there is a settings file you can edit for the default users - i think there is, but again this must be set before users are set up.
We looked at changing users preferences, but gave up on the idea as all users had been provisioned already :-(

I have two drop downs. Both are coming from look up fields from two lists. i want to set a default value(first list item) for the first drop down list box and then apply cascading based on the default value for the next drop down list box. where in i can set a default value but i can't apply cascading based on that default value. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
