Vendor Master Extend authorization without authorizing XK01 access
I have a request to allow extend of Company code and Purchasing organization for Finance and Purchasing people accordingly. But of course the do not have access to XK01. So I wonder if there are specific authorizations that allow this. We do not want them to have access to Create abrand new vendor, but extends is fine. Any hints are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Laura
1) BDC is a pest, but you could define a batch user with only this access fpr the process sent into the background task. HOwever basis people dont like this because you will have an explosion of system type users which are historically theirs to admin.
2) You can use SE97 to disable tcode checks but they will not work reliably for application objects. This might bight you later on.
3) No comment, as it would be my solution... hahaha
4) Yes workflow is an option to defer the task into (and the authorizations) but pleaase take note that the (logical destination of the) workflow engine does not need SAP_ALL and API functions should not check any S_TCODEs.
I am tempted to move this to the workflow forum where the options of inbound workflow processing might be mentioned, then we can reconsider security considerations of your requirement.
Cheers,
Julius

Missing Purchasing Organization on Vendor master record
We have a vendor(s) that was created without a purchasing organization.
Is there a way to update the Purchasing Organization on a vendor master record if the purchasing organization field was left blank when the vendor was orignally created?
What are the ramifications of creating some vendors with a purchasing organization and others without? Will,
You will need to extend the vendor to the purchasing org. using MK01 or XK01. The vendor master can be maintained centrally (XK01) or purchasing data (MK01) and accounting data (FK01) can be maintained independently. That is the reason SAP has provided 3 separate transactions.
If you need to use the vendor for purchasing functions (eg. create a PO), then the prerequiste is that you will need to maintain the vendor for all valid purchasing organizations. There are no other ramifications as such.
Hope this helps.

How use of alternative data in Vendor master and fn??
Hi
Here is the scenario
We have the vendor master where, in alternative data all the plants is linked to the vendor with some plant specific data to it such as planning calender by night, plan delivery time, and purchasing group.
and all these info is fed to the system through ABAP forms, so when i try to amend some of the plant specific data through the form it does erase the existing data and doesn't overwrite the new data into it
to find the root cause i need the following
Question -
1. How do we make the alternative data active in vendor master- either through config changes or is there anything else??
2. what may be the possible reasons for the plant data not overwriting
Please do reply in detail and if config changes with steps
Thanks for everyone
Regards/Suresh1. How do we make the alternative data active in vendor master- either through config changes or is there anything else??
It is std functionality in Vendor master, could be created thru XK01 or XK02.
2. what may be the possible reasons for the plant data not overwriting?
Check the ABAP part, might be missing something...

Restrict access for Vendor Master Data
Hi all.
Our company structure is like below:
Single instance, just one mandant.
Company codes like 1001, 3001, 6002, 6006, etc... over the world.
At some companies just the central administration can create vendor for the companies using the transaction XK01.
Now we need to give access to users from one of our company from other country but we can´t give access to transaction XK01 because just the central administration can create the master data for the vendors.
I already read about the object F_LFA1_AEN that is possible to create some field groups and give access just for the rigth groups. I also read that this authorization groups don´t have effect on the vendor master data like address.
How can I restrict access for the vendor master data? I´m thinking to give access to transaction FK01 and MK01 and restrict access for create a new vendor, I only want that the users can create the data for a new company or new purchase organization.
Thank you
Darlei Friedelamong many other authorization objects, you find following three:
F_LFA1_GEN general data
F_LFA1_BUK company code data
M_LFM1_EKO purchasing org data.
If the user does not have authorization for F_LFA1_GEN , then he cannot maintain general data. -
Vendor Master Field Group Authorizations
Hi guys,
I want to give the authorization to specific users for only changing a few fields in the Vendor Master.
There is an authorization field in the vendor master ( XK02 ) under control Tab. But how do we create this authorization ?
There is also define vendor field groups where we can restrict which fields to be changeable by the user. But how do we link these field groups to the vendor master?
Please suggest.
Thanks,
Srikanth.HI,
You can use dual control to provide more security when changes are made to sensitive data in your customer and vendor master records. This function can be used for changing customer master records (FI-AR) and vendor master records (FI-AP).
Prerequisites: You must define the required sensitive fields in the customer or vendor master record in Customizing (IMG) for Financial Accounting. To do so, choose Financial Accounting->Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable->Customer Accounts-> Master Records->Preparations for Creating Customer Master Records->Define Sensitive Fields for Dual Control.
You must be authorized to change master records. You also define authorizations in Customizing (IMG) for Financial Accounting. To do so, choose Financial Accounting->Financial Accounting Global Settings->Maintain Profiles. The person who makes the changes is never allowed to confirm his or her own changes.
Features: You can define the required master data fields as sensitive in Customizing.
When an authorized accounting clerk changes a sensitive field in the customer or vendor master record (such as Alternative Payee), the relevant account is blocked for the payment run. The changes take effect immediately. The account remains blocked until a second authorized person confirms the master data changes. However, it is still possible to make a further change to an account that is already blocked. The second authorized person is informed of the changes by mail or by other means, and then uses the function Master records->Confirmation of change->Single (or->List) to edit the changes.
If the second authorized person does not confirm the master data change, the relevant account continues to be blocked for the payment run. The changes are likewise not reset.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need anyother information.

Vendor Master Authorization for the BANK DETAILS
I have a question about authorization to display the bank details for a vendor. Right now, all of our users can display the vendor master name and address (which is the GENERAL DATA --> ADDRESS screen. We want most of these users to continue to be able to display the ADDRESS screen, but NOT be able to display the BANK DETAILS (which is the GENERAL DATA --> PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS) screen. How can that be done, since they are both on the GENERAL DATA screen?
I didn't use OB33, I used "Group Fields for Vendor Master Records" in SPRO. I assigned the bank fields to a field group, if I specify the field group in the F_LFA1_AEN auth object, then the users can still display the bank data (because there is no activity in that auth object). The users are given access to display the general fields, but I don't want them to display the bank details.
What do you suggest now??

Authorization checks for bank account number in vendor master
I am trying to find a way to set up authorization checks for specific fields in the vendor master: LFBK-BANKL, LFBK-BANKN, LFBK-EBPP_ACCNAME and LFBK-EBPP_ACCNAME. I am tring to set ip up so that if you have access to transactions FK03 or XK03, you can view vendor master data except for the above fields.
Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-PeruHI Peru,
To supress a field in FK03 u will have to check
Financial Accounting (New)>Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>Vendor Accounts>Master Data>Preparations for Creating Vendor Master Data-->Define Screen Layout per Activity (Vendors)
in that Display Vendor (Accounting) for FK03 and Display vendor (centrally) for Xk03
But there bank account no is not there.
Moreover there r no authorization objects for all the fields that u gave.
So try creating screen variant/ transaction variant in SHD0.

Added new fields in vendor master in xk01 but data is not getting saved
Hi experts,
To add new fields in vendor master i have followed the following steps :
1.) Appended a structure ZRTGS in LFA1 table with required fields and activated
2.) Added new button in xk01( vendor master ) using spro -> logistics-general -> business partner -> vendors ->
control ->adoption of customer's owaster data fields -> prepare modification free-enhancement of vendor master record
Created a screen group ZR and defined label tab pages with function code ZRTGS and saved entries
3.) Created a implementation for BADIs VENDOR_ADD_DATA and VENDOR_ADD_DATA_CS.
4.) Created a program with my own subscreen for the required fields
The button is getting displayed in XK01, XK02 and XK03 respectively. Whenever the button is clicked the subscreen with
the fields is also displayed. But whenever i try to save the data in either XK01 or XK02 it is not getting saved in to the
database table LFA1.
Request your help in this regard.
Thanks in Advance.Hi,

Regarding vendor master creation using xk01,fk01,mk01.
hi
i have created vendor master using xk01.what is the diffeerence between creation of vendor master using xk01 and FK01,MK01.Hi
You can split vendor master data into two parts - purchasing (MK01) and accounting (FK01).
Purchasing veiw (MK01) is important if you want to create purchase documents like PO on vendor. This veiw is created for purchase organization with bank details and partner functions.
Accounting view (FK01) is important for finance people to post invoice and pay to vendor. This view is created for company code. The terms of payment which purchase dept specifies will be entered in accounting view again and bank details entered by purchasing people will be confirmed by accounting team.
You can create collectively these two views in XK01.
Thanks -

I have an issue with sensitive fields. A payment was done without confirmation of vendor master data.

Are there any notes which can be applied. This is 46C system?check view V_T055F
