Ver33 Unresponsive Script popup is NON FUNCTIONAL

My continuing problems with getting FF to Restore Session are here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1022861?esab=a&s=&r=0&as=s
Using Safari to send this. FF is locked up again...
Went Not Responding on yet another tab. This one said "waiting for" server for a long time, then it changed to "connected to"
Then the Unresponsive Script popup appeared -- but as always, it is NON FUNCTIONAL. None of the 3 buttons work. None are blue.
I'm letting FF sit there for a while to see if the damn button ever turns blue...

Some Console Errors for those who know WTF they mean...

    Unresponsive Script Error.
at least the damn box was blue.
My continuing saga of trying to get FF to successfully reload a previous session:

and more unresponsive script popup problems:

I don't get any unresponsive script. It's best that the consumer contacts us as each case is different.
    Some things you can suggest:
*Update to the latest version of Adobe Flash <br>
    *Clear cache and cookies <br>

  • I keep getting "Unresponsive Script" errors in random "jsm" files several times a day. Why?

Several times a day I get "Unresponsive Script" popups as I browse the internet. They're almost always different. Sometimes its in tabbrowser, sometimes it has something to do with a YouTube page I have open, and sometimes it occurs when I try to save a file with the built-in download manager.
I don't know why it does this so often. I don't have many Addons.
I also copied the technical information about my browser to help out if it can identify why these Unresponsive Script Errors keep appearing.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")<br />

  • Unresponsive script and unable to restore past session

I dropped Google Chrome [too many "wait & kill" pages; stopped Explorer with too many frozen web pages. Firefox was fine until 2 days ago when "script may be busy or not responding" and "cannot restore previous session". The former happens frequently in Email and response to keyboard VERY slow. I have cleared browsing history and cookies and still experience this "unresponsive script" popup!
    Que pasa aqui??

Firefox uses the "chrome://" protocol to access its own internal files and also access files from extensions, so that has nothing to do with Google Chrome.

  • Unresponsive Script errors popups in Firefox 14.01

Since upgrading from Firefox 13.01 to 14.01, Firefox is taking a long time to launch and I am receiving multiple unresonsive script error popups when it tries to launch. I have the same extensions installed that I had in 13.01 and all are compatible with 14.01. Again this issue ONLY started when upgrading to 14.01. I have tried to determine what extension is the problem and turn it off, however when I launch Firefox again, another unresonsive script error popup occurs with a different extension. I'll remove that one and it popups again about a another different one. This is crazy! I have even tried a complete clean install, with no luck. What is the problem?

I use Roboform and the first unresponsive script error popup is about Roboform. Their tech support just emailed me about an hour ago and ask if I had Trusteer Rapport installed on my system (https://www.trusteer.com/product/trusteer-rapport) and I said yes. They instructed me to Stop Rapport, which is a setting Rapport has, and relaunch Firefox 14.01 and see if the unresponsive script error popup returns and it did not! They then told me to do a complete uninstall (all user settings) and re-download Trusteer Rapport from their website and install again and see if the unresponsive script error popup returns. They said it should not. However after doing a clean reinstall of Trusteer Rapport, however the popups came back :(
I emailed Trusteer about this issue and I am waiting for a response. Roboform tech support responded after I told them it did not work by saying only that they are aware of the issue with Trusteer Rapport with nothing more said in their email.
I only know that Trusteer Rapport is a MUST HAVE security software and I have had it for years and it has never caused problems and that the version of Roboform I have is current and was the SAME version that was installed when using Firefox 13.01 and Roboform did not cause these popups in 13.01
So, this evening, I did another clean uninstall of Trusteer Rapport AND a clean uninstall of Roboform and relaunched Firefox 14.01 and the only unresponsive script error popups where from another add-on extension called WorldIP. No other popups occurred.
With that being said, I can say that Firefox 14.01 is causing issues and this needs to be fixed asap.
    Thoughts?

  • Firefox keeps giving me a non responding script popup, regardless of the site it is on when I load it. Plus it loads almost 50% slower than it previously did.

It suddenly started taking a long time to load FF, and everytime it DOES load, I get this:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: resource:///modules/XPIProvider.jsm:171"
Regardless of what site I am on, be it a blank page, Google's homesite etc. Navigating on the web is a pain because everything is slower and laggy, when it wasn't before.

  • Firefox often slow, not responding and showing unresponsive script errors.

In the last few weeks, firefox has often gone unresponsive, usually shown as 'not responding.' This lasts anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes (possibly longer, but by that amount of time I loose patience and 'end task' in task manager.) This is usually followed by an 'unresponsive script' error. Which script it is varies. I've been responding by clicking 'stop script,' which usually fixes the problem temporarily.
The problem seems to occur mostly randomly, but will predictably always occur on site with videos like youtube. Here it is also worse, taking much longer to resolve if it does at all. I've got flashblock active, and sometimes the error will occur before I get a chance to activate the video and sometimes after, but will always occur. Also, on this sort of site, the 'unresponsive script' error will also go unresponsive most of the time, which I've not seen anywhere else, meaning that the only solution, after a while is to end the process in task manager. I've at times attempted to play the same video for half an hour with no success.
As I've therefore spent a fair bit of time in task manager, I've noticed that I end up with many processes running for FlashPlayerPlugin_15_0_0_152.exe*32 (Description: Adobe Flash Player 15.0 r0.) They build up the more I use firefox, but go away when I restart my computer. I've gotten up to at least 50 at one point. Most use 128 or 124 K of memory, but about 1 in 7 uses between 1-5000 K. I don't know if this is linked to the above issues, but I've only noticed it since it started.
I've tried resetting firefox and it changed none of the above.
If it helps, I used Windows 7. Feel free to ask for any more details about my system and I will do my best to answer, though I'm not an expert in computers. Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Thanks for the advice. What solved it was disabling all addons and then restarting the computer. I've since reenabled Adblock (2.6.4) and Flashblock (1.5.17) without causing the problem to reemerge, leaving Troubleshooter (1.1a) as my only previously enabled addon I've not reenabled. I am no longer experiencing the issue.
Regarding updating to version 32, I tried this, but the official site told me I already had the most up to date version of firefox for some reason. Normally, it updates automatically. However, as my issue has been solved I don't consider this a problem.
Thank you very much for your advice.

Error message: "Warning: unresponsive script". Afterward, the system freezes and will then crash. Crash reports have been submitted many, many times without response. I have tried the fore-mentioned solutions with either no results or very bad results which I filed a report but did not receive an answer. The application to block scripts actually worsened the problem and I could not correct the situation for a while (no response from Firefox, at all). I have also been through this procedure without any one contacting me, AT ALL.

There does appear to be any support whatsoever from mighty "non caring" FIREFOX & people are getting fed up. We may as well try another system, if they can't be bothered to provide any support for their system, we can't be bothered to use their system.

  • Unresponsive scripts still, even in safe mode!

    Hello,
I have been having the Unresponsive Script warnings for what is probably going on a year or so now, and it's getting increasingly difficult to use my computer. I'm not hugely technical with my computer, but I do know some, and have fixed many many problems before, even fixing my computer from a devestating malware virus a couple years ago myself, using only information from the internet.
Which is why I find it so infuriating that I cannot find ANY answer to help me with this problem.
Here is some of what I get in a day or so:

Most of the time it's Facebook that's giving me a problem, but it does it on other websites too. Without going into tons and tons of detail, I have basically tried EVERYTHING I can do on my own. I have searched this problem for months and months, and always come back with nothing helpful.
I tried FF safemode in the past day or two, and it occurs there as well. I have tried everything from changing dom.max_script_run_time default, I've tried Greasemonkey, I've disabled, enabled, and disabled every script I had, I've reset FF, I've turned off the hardware accelerator, etc, etc, etc. I can't even tell you everything else that I've done because it's been such an ongoing problem. I am to the point now, that I am not going on the computer for days (even though I have things to do) because I don't want to be on it for 6 hours at a time. I want to check facebook every day for about 30 minutes, to read my mail, and chat with my friends, but it turns out to be a lesson in frustration, and I've learned to play classical music when on my computer because it calms me down. Waiting 3 hours just to check your facebook is increadibly inconvenient; something that I did at the library in 10 minutes. It doesn't just happen on FB, but that's the MAIN culprit. My Shockwave Flash also crashes ALL the time, and I've updated it several times. I've tried everything, and I just can't win. If this continues, I'm giving up on FF. I love FF. I want to use it. It used to be the best thing ever. But now, I can't do it anymore.. my patience is so stretched, that I am just done.
I am OBVIOUSLY not the only one with this problem, as there seems to be a million questions on the internet about this problem, and NOBODY can give a straight answer.
WHY?? FF you can do better than this! You MUST solve this problem! It's affecting so many people out there!
    Sincerely, M
Ps.. I have a PC, Windows XPPro, FF22.0, and I had YesScript 1.9, Personas Plus 1.7,2.1, and Status-4-Evar 2013.02.16.23 (But all have been removed with the FF Reset) and none of them were the culprit because I disabled them a while ago, and still had the problem day after day.
Thank you for your help :)

NONE of the above has worked for me. Currently running FF 23 and Windows 7. What I'm experiencing strictly happens with the Facebook news feed, and may be completely independent of Firefox as others have reported this problem in other browsers...(https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/?id=10151551364085966&referer=answered_notification&ref=notif&notif_t=answers_answered)

  • How can I include "None" functionality in a LOV

I am trying to setup the ability to set a value to null in a Popup LOV giving my users the “None” functionality. This is the SQL I use to ccreate the LOV:
    select 'None'VALUE,
    Null UID
    from dual
    UNION ALL
    select VALUE,
    UID
    from LOOKUP_VALUE
when I select the “None” from the list and try to create the record I receive:
    ERR ERR-1023 Unable perform validations
    ORA-01722: invalid number
Any idea on how to allow “None” type functionality?

    Thanks Sergio;
You are right I am trying to insert a NULL into a number column. When I add a row and do not put a value in this column it is ok because the column is defined to allow nulls. If I put a value in this column and later want to change the value nothing (NULL) is when I have the problem. I could create a None value for all my LOV and use it but I would rather just remove the value from the column and leave it NULL.

Every time I open a site I get the "unresponsive script" warning. Then randomly throughout my web surfing. It's a constant occurrence. In fact, I've yet to go a single session without receiving a warning. For several days I was logging each message by using print screen, then saving under paint. If these are required to rectify this issue, I'd gladly send them.

You might have a bad add-on, or you could have a virus on your computer. Try starting [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] and check "Disable all add-ons". If that works, it's a faulty add-on. Or if it's a virus, download [http://free.avg.com AVG Free] and scan your computer.

  • Constant script errors and non-responsive

I receive constant script errors and non-responsive errors using Firefox, as do many of my friends. I am using Facebook and Mafia Wars by Zynga
Here is an example of one:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=508888121:7
I have tried the instructions on this page
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Warning+Unresponsive+script?s=script+errors&as=s
however, I get an error message when I try to access Config and enter:
Navigation to the webpage was cancelled
Please help fix this or I'm going to have to use a different browser and I like Firefox better than the other options.
    Thank you.

Thank you Jeff for your response. However, that question is 1 year old and I no longer have that problem. I hope that your answer will help others.

  • Got Unresponsive script message. Whether I click on Stop script or Continue, it doesn't respond and browser has freezer. Can't even restart my iMac.

I clicked on a link and immediately got "Warning: Unresponsive script." Clicking Stop Script or Continue does not make a difference. It just froze or got hung.
I just got your email asking me to confirm the account I created with the username marlener by clicking on the link provided on the email. I clicked on it but it's not going anywhere because my Mozilla browser has frozen. Like I said, I can't even close it. I attempted to restart my iMac but it won't because it says I have to close Mozilla first.
I often get the Unresponsive script warning now that I've switched to iMac. I don't remember getting this msg too often on my Windows desktop. Is Mozilla more incompatible with iMac compared to Windows?
The screen has now turned white but the box with the warning msg is still up and I still am unable to close the browser.
The menu at the top doesn't show so there is no Help window for me to open.

Firefox may become very slow to respond because of badly coded JavaScript causing infinite loops on certain websites [28]. This problem can usually be cleared by closing the window or tab for that website. You can also temporarily disable JavaScript to view the problem site, but the website may not work without JavaScript. Read Firefox CPU usage for more information and also see the related article,Unresponsive Script Warning.
If the web site hangs Firefox (you can't even exit Firefox) try running in Safe Mode and see if you can get an Unresponsive Script Warning. Watch the status bar and see if this frequently occurs while it mentions a specific URL. If so, try blocking that URL using a content-blocker such as Adblock Plus. The problem URL may be fetching an advertisement or side panel that you can do without.
If none of this helps, try using a different browser (such as IE or Opera) or try accessing the site at another time. This might help you determine if the problem lies with Firefox, a poorly designed website, or content that changes over time, such as ads.

  • Warning unresponsive script came up but won't let me stop the script or continue it or anything. help!

I'm on a MacBook air. I tried to close Firefox and it won't let me, I tried uninstalling it and won't let me, and I tried shutting down my computer and still won't let me do anything! Someone please help me! I already called Apple and they said they couldn't help me because Firefox isn't part of them. Also Firefox really needs to get a customer service number!

    Hi OliviaMancia,
I understand that you have an installation of Firefox that is giving you the unresponsive script warning. I also understand that you filed this for Firefox for Android as well as Desktop?
None the less, please see [[Warning Unresponsive script - What it means and how to fix it]] for Desktop. As for the mobile version please try the add on Noscript or Adblock Plus to block some unwanted scripts.
Unfortunately Mozilla currently does not have the resources to maintain a Support line.

  • How to solve firefox crashing and continuous "unresponsive script" messages?

I've had this issue for a couple days now. When in firefox and having multiple tabs open, the tab that I am on will freeze and an "unresponsive script" message will come up. When I only have one tab open, the browser will shut down completely without any message. I have already tried disabling all of my plugins, allowing the script to run longer, restarting firefox, and even uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. None of these seem to work for me. Does this mean I have a virus? Are there any other things I can try or should I have this looked at?

Try this for your mac computer:
Please do the following to give us crash IDs that will help us understand more about the crash.
#'''(OS X 10.6 or previous)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.<br>'''(OS X 10.7 or above)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the '''Go''' menu, hold down the '''option''' or '''alt''' key and select '''Library'''. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
#Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!
You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the [[Firefox crashes]] article.
