Verbatim 3.0 USB not recognized bz MBP (mid June 2012)
Hi I am new to Apple and have just received my MBP 13' with SSD upgrade. I have also bought a brand new 64GB Verbatim 3.0USB stick.
This stick does not get recognized by the system and I can't seem to fix the problem. Other sticks work well.
There are a lot of common problems described on the internet, but they don't seem to help me.
Thanks in advance,
Lars
What are the system requirements for that model hard drive? The few 1T's that I saw on Toshiba's website were only compatible with Windows. None make no mention of Macs.

IPhone is not appearing in iTunes 12, USB not recognized by Windows 8.1
S.O.S
My iPhone 5s is not appearing in iTunes 12.
Windows 8.1 says "USB Not Recognized".
iPhone not appearing in iTunes 12 on iMac and MacBook Pro as well
iPhone can charge with no problem.
Try different cables and same problem nothing changed.
I had tried;
Reset and Restart iPhone.
Cleaned the charging input.
Tried in 3 different computers.
I can't perform the method like uninstall/reinstall the USB driver on my Windows because in my Windows the USB showed unrecognized instead of "Apple USB/iPhone USB" on Device Manager.
P L E A S E A D V I S EHi Since ios 7 almost everything can be dropped over your WiFi When you charge your phone if Automatically backs up to iCloud If you have problems backup to iCloud over your WiFi Then Restore iPhone back to Factory Settings Use same Apple ID Then you will get all your apps & data back. We have 2 iPhones & 3ipads & have not used a pc for over a year with them. Cheers Brian

My 1TB Seagate external USB not recognized by my iMac (intel) in Disk Utility, nor in Finder as well as in Terminal "diskutil list" but it is listed within the System Profile, which includes the location ID of 0xfa400000 / 5. Can the location ID be used to restore the identity of my external USB ?

USB not recognized from my ipod touch 2nd gen on any of computers.
USB not recognized from my ipod touch 2nd gen on any of computers.
Just what are you doing where?
Are you trying to sign into Settings>iTunes and App Store? -
Have reinstalled ITunes correctly-after USB not recognized for new Shuffle
New Shuffle- 1st time it says USB not recognized- Apple sends me info to uninstall and re-install I-Tunes- I-Phone is still seen- try Shuffle- first message says USB port recognized- next one says something about hardware not being installed properly. Try again and am back to the original problem- USB not recognized. Of course Apple Support is now closed- any ideas?
DId you uninstall iTunes and all it's components? Or just the iTunes program? Apple Mobile Device would be the main cause more than likely. So it is important whether you uninstalled all the programs or just iTunes. If so what I would try next is putting the device into recovery mode and seeing if it detects it like that.

I am using an IPod Touch 3. I get the error message USB Not Recognized. Now I have tried three different USB Cables and three different computers...... Same error message. My daughters IPod Touch 4 works perfectly with all of those USB Cables and computers, so this is not a USB problem or a computer problem. It must be something with my IPod Touch 3. Every article I go to wants me to look at stuff on the computer but how could that make sense if other IPod Devices work fine? Please. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
You need to provide more information about your network. What frequency does it use (2.4ghz or 5.0ghz), which wireless protocol (a, b, g, b/g compatibility, n), and what security are you using (WEP, WPA2, etc.)?
Please also provide more information about your iPod Touch. Which model is it, and which version of the iOS are you running on it? -

HT1923 USB not recognized! HELP URGENT
Heyy Everyone!
I really need help!! Okay so this is the case I connected my iPod touch to the laptop Sony Vaio, and this is the first time it ever happened it says USB not recognized, doesnt open itunes or anything, yes I searched and searched did everything nothing worked please if you know how to fix this.. I tried it on couple more laptops/computers still the same any idea what could caused the problem, i used it like couple of times and left it for a month-ish oh and its 22,321,272 minutes locked and I really want to restore but really cant desprately need helpok, Im sorry to update this thread again but I fixed one issue and made another...
So on another thread I read that sometimes the issue is fixed from shutting down the computer and actually unplugging it from the wall. I did that and at restart it worked! It prompted me to restore my settings and it went through and works fine now. HOWEVER... my apps are gone! I did a backup on itunes today that it loaded, but the apps are not there.... what happened?? Please tell me they are not lost..... -
My iTouch says USB Not Recognized?
I plug my 2gen iPod Touch into my comptuer and almost immediatly it says USB Not Recognized. But, when I plug it in with the newest cords it shows up just fine. Is my cord out of date? Is the one with the button release. I don't see how a cord would affect it showing up on the computer.. But it does. HELP!
I had success with the holding down the keys and connecting to usb and using itunes to restore firmware like they show here

USB hard drive is not recognized on MBP running Lion
Hello,
I have:
- Freecom ToughDrive Pro USB hard drive
- New MBP running Lion 10.7.3
When I plug the disk in an USB port in the MBP, the light that indicates operation starts blinking but very lighltly colored and the disk is not recognized by the computer. I have put data on it using iMac Snow Leopard. I have plugged the disk into a MBP running Snow Leopard and it works. I have also tried another Lion (older MBP) and it also works.
What is wrong? How come the disk is not mounted or shown in Disk Utility. Can it be a power issue? Any ideas?
I have noticed there a lot of similar posts in the forum and none has been satisfactorily solved. Is this a mayor Lion bug? If yes, how can I downgrade to Snow Leopard?dafnedr wrote:
Thanks for the reply.
However... how is it possible that with all other MBPs I have tried it works just fine? Has Apple lowered the power levels in recent models? The other MBP where I have tried the disk on are just over a year old, my current one is only a month old.
Are you saying that USB ports on different Apple computers are supplying different levels of power? That's psychotic! It should be a standard power level... or it should go up on newer models... not down!!!
I think I'm just gonna return this piece of scrape and get my old (one year old) MBP back... Snow Leopard was bliss compared to this... I rather go back than have to jump to a store to buy a cable to make something work that should work by default.
On the one Mac it does not work on that Mac does not put out enough power to fully power the drive. If it works on other Mac's we know that the drive works, so that question is answered. And it doesn't work on your newest Mac then there can only one answer, Not Enough Power is being put out by the USB port to fully power it.
Yes the one Mac that it is not working on has a lower USB power output. Why, I have no idea.
This is Very Common you can find posts about it on all notebook forums. Psychotic, No. Yes Mac is touted as "It Just Works" which is a flat out LIE.
Do what you think is best for you. Good Luck -
I bought a Behringer Xenyx302 USB preamp to connect a microphone to my mbp. The device is not recognized by MacOS. Preferences / Sound / Input only lists the internal microphone. Based on other posts and documentation, I should see and entry for "USB microphone" or something like that.
The preamp has a headset jack. I can hear the microphone working through that, so I know the mic works.
Behringer doc says that no drivers or software are required for MacOS. 15" mbp, retina, late 2013, 10.10.1 Yosemite
Any suggestions?Yes I have checked Parallels config along with Parallels support. Also on the mac side it also does not see or recognize USB 2 devices
any other thing to try?
