Just out of curiosity what error are you receiving? Also do you have a dns record for the ACS (both A and PTR records)?
Here is a document that I created which will help debug any AD related issues. You can also use this example to see why the ACS fails to join the domain.

  • Verbose logging jdk1.6 no longer contains path and file for loading msgs

    The javac verbose option underjdk 1.6 logs LOADING Line as follows:
    [javac] [loading javax\naming\InitialContext.class(javax\naming:InitialContext.class)]
    That is different that what I had been getting under jdk 1.5
    [javac] [loading Z:\WebSphere\AppServer\java\jre\lib\core.jar(javax/naming/InitialContext.class)]
    Given a choice I would have prefered the orginal.
    It resolves to a jar. I find the 1.6 line of no more use than the original, and in fact of much less use.
    I see no signs of this being reported as a bug, or even noticed (not a single person other than myself complaining on the internet...)
    I can find no flags to revert to original, and see no snippits of postings showing the former format in any samples of Verbose dumps...
    Help....???
    Why do I care.... I had scripts that using this output to identify our internally written jars being "found" by the compiler, so that they could be "graphed" and packaged in the wars that needed them. Not perfect, but easy.... At least it was easy.

    Solved my own issue.  Turns out my IP address for the served was changed by the router.  I have now assigned it a permanent IP.  It's working again.

    Hi,
    does anyone know in which order Java Virtual Machine load classes from jar file specified in classpath?
    Does it exist an option of the JVM that make possible print to output this order and from which jar every class is loaded?
    I tried with -esa -verbose option but this doesn't satisfy me.

    Hi Martinux,
    Tiger and Mustang come with a number of diagnosing tools that could help
    you spot memory problems. In particular there's something called 'jmap' which can
    take a snapshot of the JVM memory.
    Danny Coward has recently written a nice blog to emphasize the existence
    of this new tools - see

    Of course if the problem isn't in the JVM...
    BTW: you did also look at the non-heap memory, right? and also at the total

  • Ant Enhancer too verbose...

    Is it possible to add a verbose option to the enhancer task? If the enhance
    task is compared to for instance javac, it's screaming extremely loudly.
    What I'd like, is an option that allows the ant task to simple state how
    many files it enhanced.
    What is really annoying is the fact that the ant-task starts yelling when a
    file is already enhanced and doesn't need to be enhanced again. I say, let
    it pass. Also, at times there are 15 warnings like:

    properties to only output a higher logging level for the MetaData
    category.
    In 3.0, we're moving to a system where all tool messages are logged to a
    kodo.Tool logging category, so you can set this category as desired to
    control how verbose the messages are.

    Track down every use of java.lang.System.getProperty()
    [use javap or a java decompiler]
    in all the classes used by the application
    and take note of the string argument passed in
    (which will contain the name of the system property).
    To get a list of classes used, run the application with the -verbose option.

  • [solved] Makepkg fails to sign package w/o asking password.

    I'm not sure when exactly this issue really started happening, but it was somewhere around the time that the new versions of Pacman and gnupg came out (a few weeks).
    I have a local ~/.makepkg.conf configured to sign any package I build with my key. The issue is that once any package completes building, and it is ready to be signed, I will sometimes be presented with a Pinentry screen to enter my password for signing the package and sometimes it will just fail to sign the package without ever asking for my password. There is no indication as to why it failed in the terminal output nor in the journal.
    This is happening on both of my Arch systems, so I know it's not just a localized issue with my one computer.

    Ok, thanks. My confusion was because I was unaware that makepkg was simply a bash script.
    I did what you suggested, and copied it to my home directory, edited the create_signature section to add the --verbose option and changed it to output to stdout. I added --verbose, --debug-level guru, and --log-file options to my gpg-agent.conf file. I ran the makepkg process twice, and as expected it asked for a password the first attempt and failed immediately on the second attempt. When it should be loading a cached password, it is bombing out with a "Broken pipe" error.

Verify that specified paths are valid. It was installed on Sept 18 2014.  I have downloaded a Transform update but it tells I do not have a Adobe Acrobat product installed.

    Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
    I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
    When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
    When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
    Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
    I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.

    Hi Manoj,
    You can do it directly from felix console. just go to http://<host>:<port>/system/console/slinglog there you will see all log files. under first table "Log Level" you will see all the log files and besides to that you will have configuration option, just go there and set log level for each of log files and save it.

  • Can an LDAP server be it's own client?

    In short yes, why would you want to do this? Many reasons, but mine is to be able to use ldap on laptops running Solaris and have them log into the machine with ldap credentials off the network. When we plug them back onto the network, I have a master server send any new data via one-way replication. I will give 2 separate ways to accomplish this. One is, to put it bluntly, a dirty hack to get it working. The second is much more elegant and it's the one I have stressed tested to verify that it works.
    Disclaimer: I have only used these methods on Solaris10 update 3 with Trusted Extensions using directory server 5.2 as well as the administration server. I have used a few different kinds of machines (all x86) and have not had a problem with it. I do not know if it will work on any other version or hardware. I haven't even looked at the source code, all assumptions made here are from observing the systems behavior while making minor changes.
    Now, the reasons why normally you can't be your own client (at least as far as I can tell) is because of the way the system boots and the dependencies that the ldap/client service needs to start up. If you boot a machine that is it's own client and ldap/client runs before the directory server starts, of course it will fail. The system boots the services first, then legacy init scripts. Directory Server 5.2 uses init scripts. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is the only real hurdle in your way.
    So the first way to get it 'working' (dirty hack) is to delay the ldap/client smf service from starting until the directory server is started. After you become a client of yourself (in this case the global zone) disable the ldap/client serrvice.
    svcadm disable ldap/clientThen enable it temporarily with the -t option
    svcadm enable -t ldap/clientWell if you were to reboot now it would not work because the service would not start at boot because it is set to be administratively down. Edit the S72directory script in /etc/rc2.d and after the start commands just add the svcadm enable -t ldap/client command and it will load right after directory server starts. Will this work? Yes, is it a clean way to do it? NO. I used this method just for testing the theory that the only reason I could not be my own client was because of the booting issue.
    Now the best way that I can see to accomplish this is to create your own smf services for the directory server and admin server. That way all you have to do is add a dependency to the ldap/client xml file to wait until the new directory server service is started before it starts. So in /var/svc/manifest/site create a folder called ldap (I put this in site because I didn't want to run into any issues of patching). In /var/svc/manifest/site/ldap/ create two xml files named:

    Any changes made to the /ldap/client xml file must be made after ALL zones have been installed. If this file is copied to a zone it will never work as the directory_server service is not loaded in the zones.
    Now what? You must remove the legacy init scripts in /etc/rc2.d. Those would be S72directory and S73mpsadm. No need to keep them around, alternatively, you can just change the capital 'S' to lower case and they want start.
    You can now either use svccfg to validate and import the new services or you can reboot. Typically, I reboot and use the '-m verbose' option on boot to watch the services for any errors. I haven't had any lately but on different systems I always watch to see if it behaves different.
    That's it. I have rebooted all the machines many, many times without error. This of course does not address loading the directory server or adding users, tnrhdb file, etc... We have scripted most of loading out and once we get some error correction coded in I will post them.
    Also, if you find any errors or even a better way to accomplish this, please post it.

    This restriction is only in terms of implementing the Solaris support for LDAP as a naming service. If the Solaris OS is configured to use LDAP as a naming service, it can't use a LDAP server running on the same host.
    The reason is that the LDAP server makes naming service calls before it gets fully started up. If the OS wants to use the LDAP server for the naming service, then a deadlock happens, where the LDAP server's gethostbyname() call can't complete because the LDAP server isn't up.
    It is possible to configure the Solaris naming resolution to avoid this problem. I've got a system set up this way myself. Regardless, the official support channels won't support a system set up this way, so if you do this you do it at your own risk.

  • IMac iSight doesn't work

    The iSight on my iMac 9,1 isn't working. Yes, I installed isight-firmware-tools and ift-extract'ed the file from my OS X partition, and shutdown and started back up, but it won't work. I tried with Cheese and wxcam. The weird thing is a couple of times it randomly worked perfectly with cheese, I could see myself, but after a reboot it didn't work anymore. Cheese just quits after a few seconds, and theres no output even with the verbose option in the terminal. With wxcam the green light goes on, but all it gets is this weird green stuff.
    Help? Anything I should try?

    We are not able to build our J2EE 1.4 application with weblo 10, we have to build them with weblo 8 which contains the xdoclet. then we deploy it in WL10. then sometimes we have to fix some build constraints that WL10 doesn't allow anymore.

    Correct. But it will contain an usable, supportable implementation of the EJB 3.0 specification. So it's basically J2EE 1.4 + EJB 3.0.
    By default it won't run with EJB 3.0 enabled.
    You will need to specifically enable EJB 3.0 when you start the container.
    Oc4J with EJB 3.0 features ==>> J2EE 1.5 ??, planned
    release date?
    There's no such beast planned yet.
    Since we're actively working on an EJB 3.0 implementation, we thought we'd release it for you all to try out. It's based off the 10.1.3 code base. Since the timing was a bit out, we just put it out as a separate distro for the time being.
    Our next 10.1.3 Developer Preview will reconcile this, and will be both OC4J 10.1.3 + EJB 3.0 in one package.
