Verification E-mail Waiting Time

Why does apple take SOOOO long to send a verification email? I want to create an itunes account so I can buy some music to listen to tomorrow, but because it takes apple an astonishingly long time to send an email, I can't verify my account so can't log in!.
Why does it take soooo longggg???
All other websites send within seconds!!

You don't get a verification email unless you are creating a free account.
Add a credit card or gift card and the account is created right then.

I can open up the ICloud page on my Windows PC but when I put my Icloud details in, it tells me that I will receive a verification e-mail on what to do next to set up my account. However, it seems as if this mail doesn't get sent to me. I tried numerous times to change the password thinking there was an issue with that but it seems not to solve the issue.
Please help me with this problem.

  • Wait time in SOST transaction

I have a program to send emails from SAP. This program works fine and creates emails but system is adding wait time of 6 hours to each email. I see the wait time in SOST transaction. I have asked basis team to check settings and they said that all settings are okay. Can someone help me with how to make the email go immediately.
    Thanks,

    Hi
    Hope it will help you.

Did you check that the system time is the same that the server time? also how often the sapconnect job is running?...
Is there a place where the wait time is configured or should I report this?
Not as far as i know... mails go to the queue to be sended the next time that sapconnect job runs...

    Good afternoon ilikechicken,
I hope you are having a great day so far, and thank you for taking the time to sign up for the forum.
I pulled up your account using the email address you registered with the forum, and from what I can see, your My Best Buy™ account is already linked to a BestBuy.com account.  That is more than likely why you are not receiving the verification email.  Please send me a private message with the below information, by clicking on the blue button in my signature, and I will make sure everything is up-to-date

I have aslo tried to contact Apple support...but I am aske to Pay for the support because i have an iPhone 3GS...and it is out of warranty.
Isn't it crazy? There is a problem withe Apple iCloud and I need to pay for support?

I only have one AppleID account.

  • Not receiving a verification e-mail

Hello! I recently got a new MacBook Pro w/ Retina display and am trying to set up my iCloud account with the device. When I put in my password in through iCloud in the settings, it tells me that a verification e-mail has been sent to me. I have tried resending it a dozen times and I keep checking my e-mail but nothing is coming through. I have no idea what else to try? Hopefully someone can help? Thank you!

Make sure you check the primary email address associated with the ID, and that you check both the inbox and junk/spam folders.  If it isn't there, you may need to contact the email provider to make sure they aren't blocking messages from [email protected]  There's more details on troubleshooting this issue here: If you didn't receive your Apple ID verification or reset email.

  • HT4436 How do I verify my account if my verification e-mail from apple has expired

We signed up for iCloud some time ago and forgot to activate the verification e-mail.  I just purchased a 4g iPad and tried to set-up iCloud.
After going through the normal sign- up procedure. The iPad tried to verify the account settings and would just hang.  I went to our e-mail to find the old verification message, clicked on the link and got the expired verification error message.
What do I need to do next?
PS. Our iTunes library and main computer is a PC running windows 7 latest version.  We are trying to connect to iCloud,  2 iPhone 4's, 1 iPhone 3GS, 1 iPad, 1 PC and two PC based laptops.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • SCOT mail waiting

    HI Forum,
We have problem in SAP SCOT..there are more 600 mails are waiting.i already run the program RSCONN01 every 10 minutes but still prb is same..we have execute start send process in scot but no solutions..default domain is set ..please help.
    Tejendra
    006590876045

I solved my SCOT SMTP e-mail issues.  Here are my solutions
    1. Emails were not delivered after so many hours,
    2. So many e-mails waiting in SCOT queue with status "In Transit"
    Solution.
We are at SAP Netweaver, but the concept is pretty similar in ECC and 4.6  I am using the SAP SMTP Plugin.
First what the messages in SCOT mean
    Completed
Number of successfully completed send orders, that is, the messages
    were sent to the recipients.
    Error
Number of send orders that were not successfully completed, that is,
the messages could not be sent to the recipients.
    In transit
Number of send orders that are currently in process outside of the
R/3 System, that is, the messages have been transferred to the
external nodes by the SAPconnect send process but neither a positive
nor a negative status message has been received.
    Waiting
Number of send orders that are currently still within the R/3
System, that is, the messages have not yet been registered by the
SAPconnect send process. (Waiting send orders are not yet assigned
to a node, therefore only the values for the higher-level scheduled
lines 'Address type' and 'System/Client' are displayed.)
The values in the last two columns (Duration in transit, Duration
waiting) refer to the average processing times (in hours and minutes)
for the respective send orders. The processing time period is defined by
    the following events:
    Duration in transit
Time from the transfer of the message to the external node to the
receipt of the first status message reporting the delivery or
    non-delivery.
    Duration waiting
Time from the creation of the send order by an R/3 application to
the transfer of the message to the external node by the SAPconnect
    send process.
    ===============
You need to turn of the waiting of a receipt in SCOT
Thi is under   Scot => Settings => Confirmation of Receipt
Choose  "SAP connect does not expect a receipt fro Internet Mail"
So those in 'Transisit" did send, SAP is just saying "I never received a receipt' You can ignore them.
Now using tcode SOST you can adjust the time manually, but here comes SMTP Time Settings as to the root cause of the dealy.
I am working a large Military Project so we use UTC
But the systems are in the East Coast and run in UNIX under EST (Eastern Standard Time)
So my emails , even though I sent them at 1pm would only be delivered at 6pm as  EST is 5 hours behind UTC.
Now timezones are  set in  tcode  TZAC
So I set my systems Time Zone as UTC - 5  (to subtract the 5 hours) which = EST where our systems are at.
UTC is nice as it avoids the daylight savings times issues
So yes, SAP SMTP Plugin converts all e-mails to the timezone of the server, not the user.
Tcode SOST will show you this.
    Note your locatl time
Send a Short Message    System => Short Message
choose a email account such as your work e-mail and choose 'Internt Address"
Now check SOST and note the time on the email.  if it is different that is a Time Zone Problem.
In short your timezones of SAP and Host must match or SMTP will delay x number of hours that the time zones differ.
    Enjoy
    Kelly

  • How to shorten the sending email waiting time?

I'm using javamail to send email to all customers of my web site. But if there are some invalid addresses, I have to wait for very long time. I suspect the smtp server will retry to send the mail many times but I don't want this, how to set it to make it only try once?
Or when I can find all the properties I can set about the mail server?
    Thank you very much!

Or when I can find all the properties I can set about
the mail server? All mail servers are different, but they should come with documentation about how to configure them. However, trying once is not a good idea. Mail servers are not perfect, and it is quite possible that the server you are sending to can be down for several hours.

  • How restore aol sent mac mail from time machine?

I am using mac mail and an imap connection to aol.  I also have a time capsule and use time machine for backing up. Yesterday I stopped receiving incoming mail in mac mail and tried deleting the aol account in mac mail and then setting it up fresh.  I was shocked to find that my 25,000 AOL sent emails did not restore! I was told by an apple genius bar rep several months ago that once mail was on my machine that the emails would NEVER be lost.  Apparently this is not true.  When I open mac mail and go into my time capsule using time machine, however, do not see the SENT mail icon under AOL--it goes away?  When I try to restore the aol mail from the day before the incident the only thing that comes up is the one Sent Mail mssg that I sent AFTER the deleting and restoring of my AOL account in mac mail. The only relevant post I have found is the one below which was posted in 2008.  Please let me know there is a way to get back my sent messages.  I can't get them directly from the aol server because the server does not save messages that are sent from any client but AOL. Thanks.

Restoring Apple Mail and Your Emails from Time Machine
filed under: How-To tags: mail, timemachine Tuesday, January 29, 2008, 11:31 am
UPDATE (25 August 2010): Please note that this post is well over 2 years old and as Tim pointed out in the comments below, this method may not be the best solution for restoring emails. According to his restore efforts, changes where made to the timestamp from the date in which they were received to the date in which they were restored. I have not tested this myself.
The hard drive on my PowerBook completely died the other day, but I luckily had been running Time Machine backups since upgrading to Leopard. (I wasn’t all that ****** off seeing as I was eager for an excuse to replace my wimpy 40Gb hard drive with a new 160Gb drive). I fumbled a bit, looking for a specific Apple Mail restore tool. I knew where all my emails lived, but I thought that Apple would have a specific means for restoring apps like Mail. So I created this mini-tutorial on how to restore Apple Mail from Time Machine simply because I could not find this method elsewhere.
Supposedly, If you attach your Time Machine backup drive, open Apple Mail then launch the Time Machine application, you are presented with historical views of Apple Mail. This did not work for me, the historical views were just blank, so the steps below do not take this approach.
Restoring Your Emails from a Time Machine Backup
Warning: If you have already setup Apple Mail with your accounts and preferences, this will negate ALL your doings.
Note: This process will restore all your email accounts, preferences, passwords, smart mailboxes, etc.
    The How-To
Before loading Time Machine, open the Finder and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. In there will be a folder name “Mail”. Rename it to “Mail (default)” (Select the folder then hit the Return key to rename).
Mount your Time Machine Backup Drive (ahem, plug it in).
Control + Click the Time Machine Application and chose “Browse Other Time Machine disks…”. This, of course, brings up the historical view of your backups.
Go back to your most recent backup (2nd window back) and navigate to Home Folder (username) -> Library. Select the “Mail” folder and click the restore button (bottom right).
Once the restore is completed, open Apple Mail and you will be presented with an import wizard (below). Simply follow through the prompts and you will be good to go.
    That’s it!UPDATE (20-January-2009): After step 4., also restore ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plistThanks Jon C.
If you have multiple mail accounts, you should also restore the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file as well. This will ensure all of your account settings are imported. – Jon C.

Don't try to restore the file; restore the Note. Go in Mail to the mailbox where the note belongs. Enter Time Machine from there and step back until you find the Note.

  • The wait time and resolve time is DEPLORABLE

Today is the third day in a row I have called into Verizon for the same issue. Day one spent 25 minutes on hold and NEVER got to speak to a person before I hung up. Day 2 Had a 15 minute hold before I spoke with someone, who then told me I had to speak to directv about something that was related to the Verizon part of my service, called directv confirmed it was a Verizon thing with a supervisor. Called BACK into Verizon waited for 30 minutes before I spoke with someone, got 30 seconds worth of talk in before another 15 minute hold, he came back on no apology not anything about the absolute rudeness and lack of courtesy. He told me they would have it fixed by the end of the day. Now here it is the nest day still not resolved, So I write this (while on hold waiting to have the call answered, its been 20 minutes) She finally did answer and was down right rude and through me right back on hold. I am so fed up with big business...

It may be your location.  Here in Baltimore, there is little wait time and the representitives I get do not speak with accents.
Agree.  I rarely wait more than a minute or two.  And except at really off hours don't hear a foreign accent.  NY area.

  • For FaceTime, can you add an additional e-mail that is not your Apple ID e-mail?  Everytime I try to do this on my iPad it sends me a verification e-mail saying I am trying to change the e-mail address associated with my apple ID and wants me to verify.

I am trying to add another e-mail address to FaceTime, but do not want to change the e-mail address associated with my Apple ID.  Everytime I try to add the e-mail address in my FaceTime settings, it send me a verification e-mail asking me to verify that I want to change to this new e-mail address for my apple ID.  I do not.  I just want to have an additional e-mail address for people to contact me via FaceTime. Does anyone know how to do this?

You can have multiple addresses associated with your apple id. You will have to verify any changes before they can be added and this is done by sending you an email. This is to protect you from someone else makeing changes to your account.
You can make any changes and view all your info here:

  • Restore Archived Lion Mail from Time Machine

I deleted a mailbox, thinking I could add it back, and synch with the server.  That worked fine, but I forgot that I had archived a whole bunch of mail on that account.   Now I want to retrieve the old mail.  I have a fresh Time Machine backup.  How do I retrieve my archived mail from Time Machine for a deleted account?

If Time Machine was backing up before you deleted the account, you can try to enter Time Machine from
~/Library/Mail.  See if the deleted account is in there.

  • How to Search Mail in Time Machine

Although Mail's search feature isn't active when in Time Machine mode, here's a way I just figured out to search Mail e-mail messages using Time Machine:
    1. In the Finder, initiate a new Spotlight search by choosing Find in the File menu.
    2. In the list of search properties, select Other..., then find System files in the resulting sheet.
    3. Check In Menu if you want it readily accessible in the future, otherwise just click on it and click OK.
    4. To the right of System files, select Include in the list.
    5. Search for the contents, name, date, etc. of the Mail message you're looking for. If it is no longer on your computer (why you're using TM in the first place), it won't show up yet.
    6. Start Time Machine with the search still going. It will search back in time and you will be able to find your old mail messages by content, date, etc.
I'm not sure if restoring from the Finder view will work, but at least you'll now know what date to go back to when using Mail in Time Machine if you're looking for a specific message, and can then restore from there.
Hopefully Apple can add search to Mail itself soon, but in the meantime this should work.
