Verified Account Needs Verification?

I have a big problem that needs to be taken care of...I just got a new iPhone and would like to re-purchase/re-download some Apps that i've bought in the past on the App Store. I go to sign in, and i keep getting this annoying message that says i need to verify my account, yet i've already verified my account in the past! I press "ok" to verify my account, then it says that my account has already been verified, but it never logs me in??!!
Granted yes, I could just make a new account, but i don't want to. I want my account, the same one i've been using for the past 5 years!
This makes no sense, And i would really like this to be fixed, as it has literally made my Apple account USELESS!
PLEASE HELP!

yea it will drive you crazy if it is the same thing that I have been dealing with. Sometimes I am taken to a support page that requires me to fill out and explain what is going on and usually Apple responds to these type of webpages with some troubleshooting but I have sent 4 and have never had one responded to.
I called Applecare about my issue because I am signing in with the same sign in information that I have ben using for years but with the new support Community, I think it needs some attention to fix the issue. Yea, Apple, there is a major problem with signing in to get some support, post a support question, download some songs, and it is all related to your website all of the sudden not recognizing my Apple ID all of the sudden.
I would go through the genius bar or applecare. that is the only way I was finally able to get my Apple ID reset. it always worked on iTunes but other areas it stopped signing me in all together. I finally got help from applecare, asked for a manager because the agent had no idea what I was talking about. the manager was able to reset things and have not had any problems since I called.

Assuming you have an optical drive in or connected to your MBP, the easiest way to go is to do a backup of your existing iTunes library to DVDs (you may need several) . In iTunes 9, this is done with selecting File->Library->Back Up to Disc... and following the directions. I do not see that capability in the current iTunes, though, but if one is using Tiger, one is limited to iTunes 9.
When the discs are burned, mounting any of the discs on the MBP should cause iTunes (you may need to have it up) to ask if you want to import the files. It goes pretty smoothly, or at least it has for me in Mt. Lion and Win-7. It's a little involved but it does work.

It was under hotmail before they updated it. This is what it said when I tried a different one the pop server IMAP mail.outlook.com is not responding check ur network connection and that u have entered the correct information in the incoming mail server. I've tried different ways of doing it, it continues to say unable to verify account information

Reporting spam to [email protected] ought to be a good idea, but I doubt it because that address responds with a long email that starts by saying BT will do nothing unless the spam comes from one of its customers - and that's unusual. This BT help page (currently linked from the Forums home page) tells us to use address [email protected] That at least returns a very encouraging response, though this whole thing makes me wonder whether BT really does anything about these reports.
The odd thing is that when you follow the advice to forward the spam email you are stripping off the information that is not displayed that BT technicians could use to track down the source. Sending it as an attachment preserves that information but I've no idea whether either of these reporting addresses is set up to do anything with email attachments. Greg

I am trying to set up my hotmail account on my new iphone 5c. The password is correct becasue I used it on my laptop. Whenever I try to set it up, it says "unable to verify account information." Does anyone know why this isn't working?

I've done this and when i click done, it says to fix errors; i repeat the process then it says to contact apple support. Any ideas or other experiences with this? I've had this happen before and it got resolved after i called them and it took a few days, not very convenient. The same thing happened when I was just trying to update my account info with a new billing / account address.

Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.

Getting 'Unable to verify account information' when attempting to setup Hotmail account

I enabled two-step verification today on my Hotmail email account.   This is my one and only Outlook account and is my 'primary alias' which is correct.   I am able to retrieve email on my iPhone and Windows PC just fine - have logged in and out several times today on the PC with no problem.   However I now cannot get this account setup properly on my iPad, though it worked before today.   I get the 'Unable to verify account information' message when I try to set up the account new again on iPad.   (I was forced to try and delete and reset it up.)
Is this somehow related to the two-step verification?   If so I will remove it and go back to single sign in.   What do you advise for email on the iPad in this case?

If you have two-step verification turned on, turn that off, then try it again.

Unable to verify account name or password - Gmail

Hi guys, I struggle to configure my gmail account in 'System Preferences'.
In System Preferences I click on Mail, Contacts & Calendar, then on Gmail, type my name, gmail email address and gmail password and once I click on Set Up "Unable to verify account name or password" message appears on the bottom of the password window.
My account is second admin account in the system.
I configured my wife's gmail account in the same manner on her account on this computer and everything went fine.
Would anyone have a guess how to address this issue?

Ok, I solved the problem. Just realized that I have all the security activated on my gmail account.
If you have similar issues with setting up you Gmail account on Mac you need to do the following in your gmail account setings:
1. In your gmail account go to Settings (cog wheel in the top right)
2. Go to Accounts and Imports tab
3. Go to Change account settings --> Other Google Account settings
4. Click on Security
5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on 'Manage access':
6. Verify your password
7. In the field provided enter the name of your device (could be anything it's just for your information to know which of your devices are given full access to the gmail account)
8. Click on "Generate password"
9. Password will appear in the yellow field
10. Copy this password and paste it in the password field in your Mail, Contacts & Calendar in System Preferences.
11. This is one off password only used to grant an access to your gmail account by your device.
12. You need to use your standard gmail password from now on.
You're done and your gmail email is downloaded to Mac Mail!

Exchange - Unable to Verify Account Information

We've been trying to setup the iPad on our exchange server, 2003 version. We enter in all the info, and we keep getting the error message "unable to verify account information".
Now, I synched my droid with no problem.
Do we need to do something to the server or the iPad?

if I understand you correctly and you are trying to get an Exchange email account set up on your iPad... are you entering a domain name in the mail settings on your iPad? If you have done so, try removing the domain name and see if it will work without the domain name since the information is optional. I think this is how I got mine to work.

In the past 2 days, I had to change my hotmail password and now I can not use my hotmail on my iphone5. It gives me a hot mail account, unable to verify account information. I can log in fine on my pc. When i called apple, they said it was a microsoft problem, and microsoft says it is an apple problem and they don't support hotmail.

You stated that you CANNOT use the same password. That is incorrect. You CAN use the same password. That's it. Period. End of discussion. Your original statement was false.
But, let's humor you:
The fact that I DO use the same password for my account is proof enough for me. I am an Outlook user. I am fully aware that it was a CHOICE whether or not to enable Two-Step Verification. I chose not to use it.
Secondly, this particular Apple ID that I use is new, yes. I don't use my old one much on these forums anymore. Doesn't mean I'm new to the site. I guess you don't understand how Apple IDs work very well. But that's okay.
I did read the link that you provided. You apparently did not. The first part says 'After you've turned on two-step verification'. In other words, it is NOT the default setting. It was NEVER the default setting. It was something that the user had to CHOOSE to enable.
You actually have to sign into your account, go to Password and Security, and Edit security info.
You have to CHOOSE to turn it on.

If you have enabled Two-Step Verification, then you shoud go to following link:
https://account.live.com/Proofs/AppPassword
You will get password for any applications you want to add, just insert that password in place of your regular password and you are good to go.
