Verified Defects Pareto chart

Hi,
When I select a NC code in the verified defects pareto chart in the PCA dashboard I receive an errormessage, so just by clicking in the chart on one of the NC bars (403 Forbidden SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.11 / AS Java 7.11) SAP ME Version 5.2
In SAP ME 5.1 this works correct, the operator selects the NC bar in the pareto chart which is the cause of the primary NC, and automatically the secondary is selected from the pareto chart in the PCA dashboard.
Does anybody experience the same behaviour in SAP ME 5.2?

Manfred

• Pareto Chart using Report Generation Tool kit

Hi,
Please help me to get clarification for the following:
I need to log data into MS Excel Report and generate Pareto Chart using LabVIEW for the Logged data.
I have Report Generation Tool kit. but i couldnt find the an option to generate Pareto chart with it.
Thanks,
Thirumala.

One way is to Create a Excel template in the predefined format with the rows/colums linked for the Chart.
Use this template with report generation toolkit to populate data in the predefined cells.Based on that the chart will be automatically updated.

• Query design for a pareto chart

Hi all,
is it possible to show a pareto chart on Web Template? I need to show the causes of non-conformities that holds 80 % of the whole number of non-conformities. Can you give an idea on how I can design a query for this? For example, I have data for
Cause        # of non-conformities
1                         1
2                        50
3                        90
4                          5
5                         4
6                       100
total # of non-conformities:250
80% is 200, and on the chart only number 3 and number 6 causes should be shown with a total 190. I tried to add a formula that finds the percentages and checked the cumulative mark on the properties. Then I added a condition that limits the new formula field (get the ones with less than 0.8). I run the query in analyzer, sorted and activated the condition but it did not work. The condition did not work on cumulative check, it takes the percentage.
Does anybody have any idea about how can I show a chart like this?

Yasemin,
I have had to do some Pareto reporting for percentage of forecasted items that fell in various groupings:
0 to 25% forecast accuracy
26 to 50% forecast accuracy etc
the way I implemented the requirement was:
1. create a query to report data - in my case I had to report forecast accuracy percentage by plant, customer and material.
2. create an APD to run the query created in step 1 and write the results to a transactional ODS - contents of which will then be written to a cube
3. create a query off the cube that will count the forecast accuracy range for each grouping and then determine the overall percentage
Maybe this might help you!

• Custom Chart / Pareto Chart

Hello, i have two questions.
How can i do a custom chart?, i can not find this option
How can i do an pareto chart?
Kind Regards, Victor

Your best bet for information on the CustomChart (a specific type of iChart where the data series details are configured per value column into a line, bar, marker, etc) is the online help documentation: iChart Data Series Details - Content Development - SAP Library
For a Pareto Chart there is no dedicated chart type, but between the various iChart type options for Bar, GroupBar, and Custom Chart. You can simply return your dataset sorted descending by count/number, so in effect you can have something like a 'Top 10' view, showing things like the most frequently occurring issues, or the largest total amounts for the given time period or associated unit.

• Pareto historic charts

Hi!
Have you worked with Pareto Graphs? I would like to use a Pareto chart
but accessing historic values, it seems that I only can use logical values
for input data, is it possible to use numeric values as input like a result
from a query?
Thank you.
Everardo

The Pareto is really just a method of counting weighted or unweighted "factors" that all result in a single event. So, logically, logical values is the only possible input: "if this happens (1) or does not happen (0) count the occurance- the 1." So if you want to "count" historic values within certain ranges (> or <) perform a SQL query on the citadel and import the results of the query into a datatable using the execsql connection and the ODBC import/export option. Count the values within certain ranges using a combination of expressions, a moving datatable cursor, and some counters. Connect the values of the counters to the factors of the pareto. There are many ways to go about this, but this will hopefully get you started in the right direction.

• OBIEE 11.1.1.6 Paretto Chart drill down

A Pareto chart when created using OBIEE 11.1.1.6 drills down to the incorrect hierarchial map. This was a bug with OBIEE 10g:
BUG:8769813 - DRILL DOWN IN PARETO GOES TO WRONG CHILD
NOTE:517727.1 - pareto charts
It was originally an issue with the use of Corda charts. This was supposed to be fixed with the move to OBIEE 11g but it does not seem to be so in our case, since we encounter the same error.
Original OBIEE 10g error: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=738674755173621&id=1200914.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=k53hrt132_215
I will look around on the forum, but any insight would help

I will try and explain the sequence of occurances on an Oracle "Sample Sales Lite" analysis, in case it needs to be recreated.
It is a very simple analysis using the “Sample Sales lite” subject area provided by Oracle. The criteria is just company from within offices as the dimension and revenue from within base fact as the fact.
The typical hierarchial drill path for the “Company” dimension within offices as per the RPD definition is Company > Organization > Department > Office.
When viewed as a table this drill path works perfectly fine. When we represent the same as a Paretto chart, on clicking on “Stockplus Inc”, the output drills down to a breakdown of "Genmind Corp" instead. This is the same when viewed as an analysis and on a dashboard.
I have seen similar occurances with bubble charts as well. Do let me know.

• Bar char pareto

Hi,
I want to display a bar chart(not column) that allows a pareto sorting of the bar values on the Y axis.
Any suggestions?

Hi Joe,
In Reporting Services, a Pareto chart can be defined as a column chart with the columns sorted in descending order, because there is a CustomAttributes (ShowColumnAs) within column chart to sort the values and create a line automatically. However, there
is no such attribute within bar chart. Please refer to this article:
Pareto Charts in SSRS.
Besides, from this
article,
we can know “A series that is drawn as a line will not take up much space within a chart area. For this reason, line charts are frequently combined with other chart types such as column charts. However, you cannot combine a line chart with bar, polar, pie or
shape chart types.” So the bar chart and line chart cannot exist in the same chart area. For this reason, though we can sort the Y-axis values in descending order, we cannot create a trend line within the bar chart. So for your requirement, it can’t be achieved
currently.

• Colored bars in BAR Chart

Hi all,
I want to display a bar chart which is having different colored bars. For example, i am now using equipment wise bar chart, if i am having 50 equipments, all 50 equipments should be displayed in different colors in bar chart. Now i am getting output for those 50 equipments having same color. I tried by giving that equipment column in DATA MAPPING -
> LABEL COLUMNS, I got only 32 bars which is in different colors in output. Kindly give me some solution for this.
thanks in advance

You may have more than 32 bars but they will be the same data series and therefore the same color. For separate colors the limit is 32 (I think you'll see that pens 17-32 repeat the colors from pen 1-16 in the default template).
It sounds like your best bet is using ValueColumn for your numerical field and then LabelColumn for the string name field. This way, depending upon the results returned it will provide good coloration between bars, but it may also be decreasingly relevant beyond the first 'x' items. A normal Pareto chart might use the notion of top 10 or top 20, which would be well within the 32 color limit.

• Dispatching an ItemClick event from a chart

I am trying to provide a simple drill down by getting a name
from a pie slice and then putting the slices contents in a datagrid
based on that name as a filter.
I am trying to use an event dispatcher and an event listener,
but im not exactly sure im doing it right.
The dispatcher would dispatch when something is clicked, and
the string item of what is clicked would be passed into the
remote object. (Not sure how the ItemClick string is passed
by an event)
I know i'm a newb with events.... thanks for any input.
here is the chart component
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Panel xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
title="Defect Chart (Status not Closed)" layout="absolute"
width="100%" height="100%">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.charts.ChartItem;
import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
//Label function for the Defect Pie Chart
private function labels(dataItem:Object, field:String
,Index:int, dataPercent:Number ):String
return dataItem.BG_SEVERITY + " " + dataItem.CNT;
private function ItemClick(name:String):void
dispatchEvent(new ChartItemEvent.);
trace("event is dispatched");
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:PieChart id="DefectPie"
width="100%"
height="100%"
showDataTips="true"
y="40"
itemClick="{ItemClick(event.hitData.chartItem.item.toString())}"
>
<mx:series>
<mx:PieSeries id="series"
field="CNT"
nameField="BG_SEVERITY"
labelPosition="callout"
labelFunction="labels"
>
This is called in main's init()
this.addEventListener("name" , ItemClickHandler);
And this is the handler function:
private function ItemClickHandler(event:Event):void
trace(event);
dataManager.soe_bug_list_detail(event['BG_SEVERITY']);
}

JoeADSK,
This might sound like a bit over-kill but you might go ahead
and use a seperate EventHandler class and a DTO(Data Transfer
Object) class to accomplish the event even though you are simply
sending 1 piece of data.
Here is an example if you need one:
==Event Handler Class==
package event
import flash.events.Event;
import myApp.dto.ChartItemDTO;
public class ChartClickEvent extends Event
public var chartName:ChartItemDTO;
public function ChartClickEvent(chartName:ChartItemDTO,
type:String)
super(type);
this.chartName = chartName;
override public function clone():Event
return new ChartClickEvent(chartName, type);
DTO Class:
package myApp.dto
public class ChartItemDTO
public var name:String;
public function ChartItemDTO(name:String)
this.name = name;
Here is how you use it in your mxml for or whatever:
import event.ChartClickEvent;
import myApp.dto.ChartItemDTO;
DONT FORGET TO ADD THIS EVENT BLOCK:
<mx:Metadata>
[Event(name="chartName", type="event.ChartClickEvent")]
</mx:Metadata>
HERE IS AN EXAMPLE FUNCTION NON-WORKING===
private function setChartName(name:String):void
var chrtName:ChartItemDTO = new ChartItemDTO(name);
var chrtClickEvent:ChartClickEvent = new
ChartClickEvent(chrtName, "chartName");
dispatchEvent(chrtClickEvent);
Now this is just hacked together quickly not a working model
but you will get the idea.
Basically the event must be passed a Data Transfer Object to
hand off from the Click event.
Like I said this is over-kill but a good place to start as
you venture forth in the the Event Handling world in Flex.
Good luck, hope this helps,
Kenny

• Chart display - pen limitations

I am trying to plot the percentage of occurences of certain Reasons in a chart. To explain I have a set of values as listed below in two columns:
Reason1   10%
Reason2   20%
Reason3   40%
Reason4   30%
So when I use a Pie chart I get the graphical representation, where each reason is shown in a different color(pen color) inside the circle.
My question is suppose the no. of Reasons exceed 32 (the maximum possible pens in xMII), how can I show them in a graph? Appreciate your help.

Srinivasan,
As a suggestion for a work around, display a Pareto chart with the Top 9 reasons and then for the tenth show 'Other' and have that as the sum of the rest of your 23+ reasons. If the user then needs further detail capture a selection event on the chart and popup and additional chart that displays a breakdown of the values for other, or simply display them in a grid below. Hope this helps.

• Chart/ Graph capabilities

I am currently working on a program that creates mulpitple reports rom which the end users would like to be able to create graphs and charts. I have been looking into it, but can't find a clear answer as to what options, other that exporting an ALV to excel, that would do this. Does anyone know of any good options for creating bar charts/ pareto charts/ other types of data-driven graphics that SAP functionality allows for, or any good solutions that anyone has come across for adding charts and graphs to dynpros. Thanks for your help.

Dear Mr. zmwhite,
Try using the Class CL_GUI_CHART_ENGINE.
Pleae go through the following Link, i think this should solve your problem.

• How to capture the Logout time in xMII

Hi Friends,
How to capture the logout time in xMII when the user clicks on Logout link
Thanks

Srikanth,
It would be better to use a database table(s) to store your audit trail information than an xml file, which could grow beyond a manageable size and then require housekeeping efforts and file rolling, etc. It would also be much easier to query user related information out of the logs, pareto charts for failed vs. successful login attempts, etc. if the data was stored in a database.
Have you considered modifying the Relogin.jsp page link in the portal's sub-menu bar? How about making your own version of this web page and changing the link pointer? Keep in mind that whatever result you come up with here will need a significant update for NetWeaver UME compatibility in version 12.0.
