  • Everything has gone wrong since started using BBM -box re certificates keeps appearing.

Recently I started using BBM then everything went wrong!! I kept getting messages about trust certifcates and eventuall key stores. Explored online help tried lots of things. Ended up completely wiping everything.
Now have re-syncronised organiser with my outlook but from contacts only phone numbers transferred!!  Calendar only partially transferred. Still box keeps popping up about certifcates . How can I phone for advice!!

For technical assistance, you would call Virgin and have the issue escalated up to the BlackBerry technical support.
I would advise that you wipe the device again and restore your backup, using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, to regain your contacts and calendar. Did you make a backup of the device before your initial wipe?

  • Unable to set up email, use BBM or App World

Hi. I recently purchased the Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 v5 under Vodafone Australia but I haven't been able to set up email, use BBM or the App World. I've already installed the Desktop Software and BBM and App World from this website (the person at the shop apparently didn't do a thing). Here are the errors I received -
    1) I don't have the I would like to create new email account option, I only have the I want to use a work email account with Blackberry Enterprise Server option
    2) When I add someone's BBM pin, they don't receive notification for it and it's stated as pending on my side. When they try to add me, I don't receive anything to inform me to add them
    3) When I go to the App World button, I get the message Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the server, Verify your network connection then when I try to download it again at this site - I get the message
Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World.
Please help. I've gone to the shop where I bought this from but they were not very helpful. I need to know if they didn't set up my account properly so I can ask them to fix it. Thank you!

Hi! I've contacted my provider and it turns out my account wasn't activated after a week! It's fixed now, thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • Blackberry Desktop keeps closing with error message

I am trying to synch my Blackberry Bold but the Blackberry Desktop keeps closing on me.  I have tried installing the latest version of the software but even after doing that I am having the same problem.  Help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately, while you said "with error message", you neglected to actually say what that error message is...hence, we must guess...I suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry 9300 keeps turning off

I got my bb curve 9300 2 years and 1 month ago and now its started plaayin up. It'll jut turn off at random times and the battery will be on 60% or watever and it'll just turn off. I keep having to put it in charge and it just reeboots itself. Once it even said "battery drained" and it just shut down even though the battery was at about 70%. Is any1 havin the same problem and if any1 knows how to fix it PLEASE REPLY. It's started to get so annoying because I have 2 charge about 3 times a day now. Btw Im on O2 and my "mobile network" and wifi is on most of of the time but I never use bluetooth. I also use bbm.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

  • I want to know if the blackberry can still be used without the service

    hi guys,
I want to know if I can still use the Blackberry on its own without the  Blackberry service such as email, Internet etc? And also can I still use the texts and calling on a Blackberry without the service?

In addition to what bewaarse said, you will not be able to use MMS either (they require data).

Yep, that'll certainly throw a crimp in your BIS data connection.
How could you have not happened to mention that at the outset?
Put the SIM card in and boot back up.
Allow the device to connect again with your network, roaming.
You should then be able to go to your Mobile Network settings and turn OFF the connection to your mobile network and use BBM and email, etc., through WiFi only.

    Hi RajdeepMalhi
If you had a previous blackberry z10 will you applied to an erasure of security because it is in use your blackberry ID on an old blackberry?
Therefore there can be used a BBID in the new z10.

  • How to use bbm channels

    Hi,
in the keynote there was talk about bbm channels, and the press release states that we can 'connect and share' using channels.
Problem is, I can't for the life of me figure out how this bbm app works.  The only thing I can find is that I can connect to someone, not to a channel.
So, how do I follow a channel?  And if I need a newer OS version, then why doesn't any of the press releases say this?
    Using Z10 with 10.0.10.690

The current version Channels is only included in the BetaZone upgrade.
Have you made that upgrade yet?

  • Using BBM internationally

    Please help
I am on the Vodafone UK network, and I am in the UK.
I have the BIS up and running.
    1.  Does BBM work cross border; i.e one country to another
    2. Are there charges to use BBM internationally.
I will be needing to use between UK and Israel and UK and USA
    3. Can it be used by 2 phones, both roaming, but on the same network. i.e. we're both in the same country, but away from our home network.
I hope someone can provide a definitive response to this, as it appears to cause confusion everywhere I've looked, so far.
    Many thanks.

ok, scroll and and review what I wrote above.
There is NO NONE NO per message charge for BlackBerry Messenger messages.
The sender sends data, the receiver receives data. You both will use data, both will have it counted against whatever data plan your account has.
I don't know the charge for you plan or international data plan. You'll need to call your mobile provider for that.
AGAIN, to repeat, there is NO per message charge. It is a data message -- like opening your internet browser to look at a website. It's that kind of data.
