Verifying "Find My iPhone" in iOS4 Help.

I can't get my MobileMe account verified for "Find My iPhone" in iOS 4. I've followed the steps Apple provided but under Mail, Contacts, Calendars > MobileMe it still says "Not verified".
#1 - I've followed the steps provided by Apple, entered my valid Apple ID and password and it successfully added the account.
#2 - It sent the verification email and I waited about 30mins and still no email from Apple.
#3 - I clicked the "Resend Verification Email" button and finally received the email.
#4 - I clicked the "Verify Now" link in the email and it told me my account has been verified but under Mail, Contacts, Calendars > MobileMe it still says "Not verified".
Now I can't get the email to send back to my account. Even though it says my Apple ID has been verified the account under Settings doesn't reflect it.

Add me to the list with this exact issue.
Years old Apple ID (email address) is verified in every place and way according to Apple, but the new Find My iPhone Free feature through MobileMe says "not verified."
I received one email verification on initial setup, but since MobilMe account still thinks it's not, I haven't been able to receive any further verification emails when resending.
The issue is the same on both my iPhone4 and iPad. Just sayin'.
Have deleted the account and recreated. Resend verification gets me nothing. Powered down. Logged out of anything Apple related on every possible device, no joy.
Support chat this morning had no solution. Escalated the case and said they would email me later.

It was never free for the 3GS.
It is if the initial sign-up is done on an iPhone 4, iPad or iPod touch 4th gen.

Follow these instructions to remotely remove Find My iPhone from your device:
Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then follow these steps:
Sign in to iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Click All Devices to open a list of devices linked to your account, then select the device to be removed.
Click the Erase button to erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, don't enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device is erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.

I lost my iphone last night. I am more than positive it is not stolen. I had downloaded find my iphone for my ipad and phone. I got on my ipad this morning to find my iphone and it is not showing up in Find my iphone app. The phone is still on, I know this because it is ringing when I call. Can anyone help me with this?

Oh no... Help. Remote wiping of iPhone w/out "Find My iPhone"?? Help. Help.

I have done something I have not done in a long, long time. I have lost my phone. It's nearly 3am and I am freaking out a little. Like an idiot, I had not installed the "Find My iPhone" function, apparently. Please help me. The data in the wrong hands... It's not good.

If you didn't instal/enable Find my iPhone there isn't much you can do to locate it I'm afraid. Your options are to contact your carrier to ensure you don't incur charges to your account, report it to the Police and change any passwords you had associated with the iPhone. Chances are if it was stolen as opposed to simply lost, the thief will most likely restore the iPhone as a new device and sell it on. They're not usually too interested in your data but more interested in selling it on to get some money.

TS4006 Find my iPhone didn't help at all

I lost my iPhone about 1 month ago. Then I turn on Lost Mode but the one who robbed my phone can still delete my account. Now I can't track my phone anymore. I still don't understand why I used Find my iPhone but it didn't help at all.

If the phone did not have a screen lock passcode they have access to all of your content. So you should change every password you ever used from the phone.
If you DID have a screen lock passcode (other than an obvious one like 0000 or 1234) your content is safe.

Says I've reached the maximum of free accounts for my device. It's a used iPhone 4s. Trying to activate find my iPhone. Please help!?

We bought our son a used iPhone 4s almost 2 years ago. It was recently lost, but we were lucky enough to get it back. As a precaution in case it's lost or stolen again I'm trying to activate find my iPhone, but it tells me I have to have iCloud. But iCloud keeps telling me I have reached the maximum number of free accounts for this device. We have never had an iCloud account, so I'm assuming it was from the original owner. I have no way of contacting this person anymore because their eBay account is no longer active. The phone was factory reset when we bought it, and we reset it again today trying to see if that would fix it, but he lost all his stuff for nothing. We also updated the software. Is there anything we can do about this? Or at least maybe a different app that can track a phone that doesn't require iCloud? I don't know anything about Apple devices. Thanks so much!

Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your mobile device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

Iphone 4 confusion with Find my Iphone. Need help!

I bought my sister an Iphone 4 from Craigslist a couple days ago. Today someone knocked on our door asking if we had just gotten an iPhone 4, saying theres was stolen. The person said they used Find My Iphone to track it here. I'm just wondering since i restored the iPhone can someone still use "Find my Iphone" to locate it? Or use it's last location when it was on? If this phone was actually stolen i want to give it back but if its just the person's friend making a story up obviously i dont want to give it to them.

Don't trust this person. I previously had an iPhone 4. When I log in to Find my iPhone it still shows up but "No Location Available" because the new owner entered their own Apple ID to block me access.

If you install the Find My Phone app and configured it on iCloud then login to iCloud and see if you can locate it. If not there is nothing we can do.
I would suggest that you change all the password for any accounts you may have used from the iPhone.
You have reported it to the police?

HT4061 How do I refresh the Find My iPhone map now that they have "upgraded" the product? There is no longer a refresh button.

Until this week there was a button next to the device identification that allowed you to refresh the Find My iPhone map. That button is now gone and I cannot see a way to refresh the map without exiting and reentering Find My iPhone. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to go to the part where you see your device on the map and then there is a little refresh button next to the name of your device on the map page.

I recently tried to use my iPod and found it's missing. I thought maybe it was in my home somewhere. So I went to find my iphone in icloud to play a sound, it says i have no devices in icloud though. I have playe the sound multiple times, and also used it to find my ipod when it was stolen 2 months ago. Is there any way to recover it in find my iphone. PLEASE HELP

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.
