  • Stuck on 'verifying iPhone restore with Apple' downloading ios 5

Does anyone else have this same problem? Stuck on 'Verifying iPhone restore with Apple' Its been doing this for well over an hour now with the black and white bar moving underneath.. also it shows the picture on my iPhone that i need to plug it into iTunes.. with every now and then a refresh with the Apple logo... please help!

I've got an original iPhone running 3.1.3 and my symptom has been that when the phone is plugged in, I see the phone in the menu, and I get the message "Verifying iPhone..." for 15 seconds or so, then the phone displays "Sync in Progress" but iTunes drops the phone from the menu and shows no sync activity. The phone continues to say "Sync in Progress" but there is no sync happening. [I've ordered a 4S but I don't want to be unable to sync this old device!!]
PS I kept trying a number of times - the phone is visible, then it disappears - I'm not sure this was the key, but when I switched my phone from being plugged into a usb hub, and plugged it in directly, it finally stayed connected, backedup, and seems to have synced correctly.

  • Verifying ipad restore with apple takes too long

I did all the steps as guided to restore my Ipad the 3rd. However, it seems to get stuck with the message "verifying ipad restore with Apple". How can I restore?

Not sure if you are using iTunes or not. However, detach iPad if connected to iTunes, go to Settings, Reset (scroll to the bottom), Erase all Contents and Settings .... and start again!
If you cannot get out of the current screen o do the above then do a Reset first [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

  • How long does verifying iPad restore with Apple take after upgrading?

How long does verifying iPad restore with Apple take after upgrading iTunes?  It's been hours & my pc won't let me close because of it.

Should happen immediately...are your firewalls & anti-virus software turned off? If not, turn all of that stuff of & try again.

  • HT4972 iPhone Update is stuck at "Verifying iphone update with apple"

My iPhone Update is stuck at "Verifying iphone update with apple".  Any suggestions?

How long has it been like that? Maybe restart it and try it again or do it manually from iTunes on the computer.

  • HT1414 when trying to restore my ipad gen 1 it hangs on "Verifying ipad restore with Apple" then returns an error 1602

I have tried to restore my ipad gen 1. When it gets to the Verigying ipad restore with Apple" it seems to hang then returns the error 1602. I have the black screen on my ipad so cannot get to the shut down bar. The ipad has not been tampered with or jail broken. it suddenly would only show the apple symbol for 5 or so seconds then go to a blank screen and then 30 or so seconds later show the apple symbol again. This only happens when plugged into its factory charger.

Have you tried the troubleshooting on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1603 ?

  • Tried to restore and update iPhone 3GS, has been in the "verifying restore with apple" stage for an hour. what should i doo?

okay, so lately my iPhone 3GS has been telling me i have no service what so ever for the past two days. But today when i was on the bus going home from school, i had perfect service and everything until i got close to my house (to clarify, i live somewhat far out from the center of town, and my school is right in the middle of town.. didnt know if that would affect anything). So then i asked my Dad about it and he reccomended restoring and updating my phone to see if it helped because im a couple updates behind. So i plugged it in, backed it up, and began to restore and update it. All was well until it got to the "verifying the restore with apple" stage. I was watching the rose bowl and not paying attention while it was on, but remembered that it started that stage at the beginning of the game. Now the game just ended 5 or 10 minutes ago and lasted a goood hour, hour an a half, and its still verifying!! i dont know what to do... HELP!

Did you check the security software settings? iTunes has to be able to contact Apple during the update process: iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues

  • Iphone fails at verifying iphone restore

I am using windows 7, I have updated my iTune to 10.5 and backed up my iPhone 4 and started updating phone but it failed when verifying iphone restore and it gave error 6 tried every step but still not successfull can some help please as I cannot use my phone.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using the same usb outlet that I use all the time. I've used it with all other updates, accessories, etc. I did change the cord to make sure that it wasn't that, but I don't have any other outlets to try. I read on another post to try the outlets on the back of the machine, but my laptop only has the 2 on the side.
I posted a similar question myself... Hopefully someone will have a suggestion

  • IPhone Restore Failing at "Verifying IPhone Restore" Error -6

i have an old iPhone 3G that i use for my daughter. i took out the sim card and she could watch movies and play games. it crashed one day so i plugged it into a mac and tried to restore. well it goes through it's processes and gets to "Verifying iPhone Restore" (it completes "Verifying iPhone Software") and stops with an Error 6. I looked at Apple's page here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275 and Error 6 has to do with Windows Registry. Well i wasn't using a windows box to restore, i tried it on a 15" MBP, a 13" MBP, and a 27" imac. I have tried doing this over 30 times and get the same Error 6.
Does anyone know of a solution to this? The iPhone is about 2 months out of warranty so i cant send it in without it costing $$$.

i took out the sim card and she could watch movies and play games
While you can use an iphone as a touch without a sim card in the phone, you cannot update or restore software without a valid sim card in the phone. The sim card need not be activated(with a carrier plan), but it must be present. So, are you trying to restore without a valid sim card? If so, that's your problem. You need a valid sim card, which is defined as a sim card from the carrier the phone was last locked to or used with. It need not be activated(with carrier plan), but it must be present.

My Ipad 2 is in recovery mode it tells me to plug it into itunes to restore.Once I do an error (40) pops up after while verifying restore with apple. I called and they said it was with my norton security so I shut everything off  on norton and tried again but it still comes up with the same thing. Is there anyone that could help please!!

Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

  • Iphone stuck with apple symbol and wont start up

i updated my iphone and when it finished and went to reboot it just stays stuck on the apple symbol it constantly reboots and will never connect to my laptop i dont know what to do if anyone can help please do

    Hi,
Luca224 & Ingo2711. Thanks for bringing this topic. on 29th Nov. I faced the same problem on my iPhone 3GS 32GB Firmware 3.1.2, iPhone stuck with apple symbol and wont start up. I have tried with 10 Seconds Sleep/wake-up button + home button to reset. But didn't work. Did google about an hour with many blogs. Finally I made a call to 3 iPhone care and spent 30 minutes and explained whatever I have done; iPhone customer care asked me to go to nearby iPhone service center in Sydney. BUT BY LUCK CLICKED ON iTUNE AND GOT THE OPTION FOR ONLINE FORUM FOR APPLE iPHONE. Many many thanks to Ingo2711 who has given the solution link and also thanks to Luca224 , who raised the issue. I feel, this is a common problem with iPhones those who using iPhone 3GS 3.1.2...... but try the link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 and thanks to Luca224 & Ingo2711. PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION CAREFULY:
    1. Verify you have iTunes 7.5 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    3. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off. _+(in my case - red slider didn't appear, but i pressed the Sleep/Wake button until the iPhone went off, finally it was just off... i was frustrated... tried 3 times with more patience )+_
    4. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on. +_( Do exactly as it says)_+
Note: If you see the message "Charging... Please Wait" or you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least 10 minutes to ensure the battery has some charge and then start with step 2 again. +_(True ... for me it happened 3 times)_+
    5. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. +_( I was nearly frustrated at my 3rd attempet; my thumb was hurting as I was holding the home button for few minutes..... but finally it worked yahooooooooooooooooo...... suddenly changed my decision.... about going to 3/Apple service center)_+
    6. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPhone and repeat steps 3-6.
Because you must restore iPhone or iPod touch, iTunes will not recover data from the device, but if it was previously synced on the same computer and the same user account, it should restore a backup (if available). See document HT1414, "Updating and Restoring iPhone Software."
If you are still unable to restore the iPhone using this method, check Apple support for further troubleshooting and/or service options.
Note: If you sync both an iPhone and an iPod touch to the same computer, make sure you select the correct backup to restore your settings from (don't select an iPhone backup if you have an iPod touch and don't select an iPod touch backup if you have an iPhone).
**** ( BACKUP FROM YOUR iTUNES : MAC/PC; AS I GOT MY 95% DATA FROM THERE.... GOOD LUCK)******* IF IT WORKS PLEASE POST YOUR EXPERIENCE....*
    THANKS

  • I am in process of restoring an iphone4 to its default settings after getting approval from my carrier to unlock it. Using itunes, it is saying "verifying iphone restore" and hasbeen stuck there for about 2 hours.

I amtrying to restore an iphone4 to its original default settings after obtaining approval from my carrier.  I am using itunes and following instructions given.  It has been stuck on "verifying iphone restore for about 1 1/2 hours with no movement in the bar across the phone itself.  Task manager is showing very little activity.  I have internet connectivity.  Is this an issue here or with apple?  Thanks.

Thanks.  Finally unhooked the phone and then tried again.  This time it went into recovery and reloaded all as it should have and gave me the "unlocked" message which was what i wanted to see!  thanks

  • Unable to verify computers eligibility with Apple to install OS X

    Hello,
I am using a Mac Book Pro 13inch aluminum Uni-body design. I can not give the specific model as the writing on the bottom is worn off. Basically it is the body style before they got rid of the CD Drive. I am not sure on how to get any further system information without an OS. The last operating system I had was Lion.
My hard drive failed a few weeks ago and I have bought and installed a new drive and reformatted it in ________. I can not get the install to work though from there I have tried several methods which list below and none seam to work.
    1. Installing from an internet recovery:
I can get the internet recovery to load however when trying install I either get:
Could not find installation infomation for this machine.
An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.
    2. Installing from an other computer booted in 'T' mode.
The other computer had Mavericks which could have been a problem but the computer I am trying to reload is new enough that it is eligible for the free Mavericks upgrade anyway.
    3. Installing from the old drive put into an external case using the option method when booting.
The recovery system boots but when trying to reinstall OS X the boot process just spins and spins while trying to verify computers eligibility with Apple. I left it over night and still it did not get past this screan.
    4. Installing from a bootable USB
I keep getting the error "This copy of the install OS X mavericks can't be verified."
    Any suggestions?

Did you install Lion yourself or did the MacBook Pro come with Lion?  If it is a model that came with Snow Leopard, do you still have the install disk that came with the machine?  If you do, restart holding the C key so you boot the install disk and use that to format and install SL.  Then you can upgrade to Mavericks.
If you do not have the install disk, and can boot the old drive in an external case, boot the old drive, download a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner, and clone the old drive to the new internal drive.  That wll allow you to clone all content and the recovery hard drive partition and make the new drive bootable.
