[moved from playbook forum]
Normally your device must be registered with the same bbid as the id you use to access bb world. A playbook must therefore be wiped and registered with the new bbid.
Take care. Are you sure you want to do this? You will lose all data and apps Backup and reload data using drag and drop, not backup system as backups are also registered to bbid. Apps may have to be repurchased.

  • One or more applications/services require you to verify your Blackberry ID

About once a day, I get a notification, saying: "One or more applications/services require you to verify your Blackberry ID" There are two problems with this message: It does not tell you which application, could be BBM, Blackberry Protect, Blackberry World, anythingIf a user does not want a Blackberry ID, it should be possible to say "Never notify me again". It is very annoying for users without Blackberry ID to get this notification. Especially when you are in "Work Space only" mode, this notification is not wanted. This is an issue with notifications in general, you should be able to switch them off. For example, I don't want to get notified every time the device goes to Battery Saver mode. A "Never notify me again about this issue" option should be implemented.

@johnthurstonI don't want to have to use gasoline for my car, but since it is required, I'm gonna get red lights and warning messages. Same with the BBID, it is required now for these devices. While you may not want to use a BBID, you will get alerted, and without such BlackBerry Protect is not connected as well as other BlackBerry services. But, it is your choice of course. The analogy doesn't quite work. My Blackberry is meeting all of my business needs without a BBID. This is more like my car is continually hassling me about an OnStar subscription I don't want or need. I find it a little hard to fathom that there is no way, other than registering another account for another service I don't need, to make this thing shut up. I'm disappointed that this seems to be the case, but I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

  • Unable to 'Verify your Blackberry ID'

Since the new software I experience problems with the Blackberry ID: it is continuously asking for my password, and then nothing happens; it 's just asking for the password again. It is driving me nuts.
    - I have access to Blackberry ID
    - Email has been confirmed
    - Pasword and security question are known
It is just the device which keeps pinging me for the password, and entering the right password + press 'verify' will just prompt me for the password again?
    What can I do?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Did you resolve this? If it were me i would do a security wipe, do the device setup and log in with BlackBerry ID, and then test a little while before doing a restore. If there is no problem until after the restore, then I would guess there is an issue with a corrupt setting. Best case is the wipe clears the problem and it doesn't return.

  • Verify blackberry id

Hi, my blackberry wants me to verify my blackberry id. I enter my email address and password and it keeps on saying : Enter the username associated with this smartphone.
I only have one email address. I have resetted my password 3 time to make sure that i enter the password correct but still the same message .
    please help

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
That message means that the credentials you are now entering are not the exact same credentials that are presently associated to this device. A BB device can have only one BBID associated to it, and to change to a different one requires a device WIPE. I cannot tell you why this is happening...all I can tell you is what that error message means.
    Good luck!

  • Unable to log in to BlackBerry ID after OS10.3 update - Now playing tennis with BB Help and my service provider

I am running OS 10.3.1.1779 on my BB Q10 and recently purchased a BB Classic thus wanted to switch device.
The BB Q10 neither allows me to download switch or back up my device using BlackBerry Link - it keeps asking to sign in to my BBID.
I am able to sign in to my BBID from comp and from mobile web on device but not from the BlackBerry App World or Hub. I enter my email and then password, after a few seconds the password field goes blank. It logs incorrect password attempts but in not logging in with correct password.
I tweeted BlackBerry help who suggested a device wipe. I sadly do not have a recent back up and need ALL the contacts i currently have and thus that is not an option. They then suggested I contact BlackBerry Technical Support with my service provider (Safaricom Kenya) - they have never heard of it and asked me to contact BlackBerry directly.
I am at my wits end as I can neither migrate to my recently purchased Classic and neither can I use my BB Q10 without the following message popping up in my hub every time I open an app:
    BlackBerry ID
One or more applications/services require you to verify your BlackBerry ID.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    - User name and password have always been the same
    - Tried reset password, followed prompts, accepted on mobile web and comp - Unsucessful from BB Hub/Appworld
    - Tried the wait 8 hours to log in - Unsuccesful
    - Tried hard and soft reset - Unsuccesful
    - Tried without SIM and only WiFi - Unsuccesful
    - Tried only with SIM and without WiFi - Unsuccesful
    - Tried rebooting phone while connected to BlackBerry Link - Unsuccesful
    - Tried backing up with both phone and comp on Airplane mode - Unsuccesful
I scoured the net and saw many similar issues. KB35119 is the closest I came to in finding a similar error on the Knowledge base and it has no resolution.
I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with this issue. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the issue or way around this.
    Thank you.

    Dear Blackberry,
I am experiencing the exact same problem, is there already a solution available?
    regards,
    Bart

    ~Gday from Down Under~

I have registered my email and selected a blackberry email as well.  I had to go online to Tmobile and register my email as I only have 2 options at the "add email" screen.
    1) I want to use a work email account.
    2) I want to skip email setup.
I do not have the option here for adding my own email.
I have yet to receive email to my phone.
While at the Tmobile store, the rep registered my phone so I could get the email accounts set up.  When I look at my account online, I see the emails I have added to the account.
I get no emails.  I sent one to my blackberry account, but still no emails.
I had a pearl that I borrowed last year and it was no problem.  Actually got too many emails.  Now I get none, only text messages.
    Suggestions?

    Hi afzaal
You need to wipe your Q5 first to apply new/different BlackBerry ID. Do not forget to backup your data through BlackBerry Link before you wipe because all of your data will be deleted. You can restore the data after wipe process has completed.
    Cheers and good luck.

  • Can't sign in with a different Blackberry ID on this device

    Hi
Got a Z10 with my blackberry ID on it for a long time with no problems.
My wife bought a Blackberry Bold 9900 and instead of creating a new Blackberry ID, I put mine. She only wanted Facebook on it so I didn't want to create a new ID just for that app.
Now on my Z10, everytime I try to download an app from BB World, got a pop-up with "Verify your Blackberry ID". I try to enter my password, it says:
"You can't sign in with a different Blackberry ID on this device. Sign in with the original Blackberry ID used on this device". But it definitely is the original ID.
I also tried to reset password but the issue persists.
Thanks for any help you can provide,

    That`s not going to work.
The reason for that is that your BBID is registered for your Blackberry  OS10. The Bold 9900 is a OS7
Therefore the apps avaiable for the OS10 and OS7 are going to be different.
I'm not sure that's true.  If you sign in with another device it should switch your info to that device.  You can still have multiple devices using one BBID.
Doing a Security wipe on the affected device should allow them to log in using any BBID, even one previously associated with a BB10 phone.  It will tell you that your data will be associated with the new phone and, in some cases, email will not go to the old phone.  In the case of BB10 as the previous phone, email will still go since it's not associated with BBID on BB10.

  • Getting Started with the BlackBerry Classic

Reposted from the Inside BlackBerry Help Blog
Whether you are new or experienced with BlackBerry 10, here’s a quick guide to get you started with the BlackBerry Classic!
Step 1 – Insert your SIM and media card
The first step you’ll want to take after unboxing your new BlackBerry Classic is inserting your nano SIM card and media card. When you have your nano SIM and media card (optional) handy, use the tool that is provided in the BlackBerry Classic box to open the SIM card tray.
To do this, push the tip of the tool, or a paperclip, into the hole that is to the left of SIM on the side of your device. Doing so pops the tray out at which point you can pull it all the way out.
After doing this, with the metal contacts of your nano SIM card facing away from you, place the nano SIM into the tray, then push the tray into the slot. Repeat these steps to insert your media card by inserting the tool, or a paperclip, in the hole to the right of SD along the left side of your device.
Tip: If you don’t have the right SIM card please contact your service provider and ask them for help switching to a nano SIM card. Please avoid using a larger SIM card that has been cut to a smaller size as this may cause your device to not recognize the SIM card. Using a modified SIM card may also result in it getting stuck since the modified SIM card may be thicker than the required nano SIM card. When you have finished inserting your nano SIM and media card the next step is completing the BlackBerry Classic setup wizard.
Step 2 – Complete the set up wizard
If you haven’t already, turn on your BlackBerry Classic by pressing and holding the power button on the top of your device so you can complete the setup process. This process guides you through connecting to a Wi-Fi network, setting up a new BlackBerry ID, or signing into your existing BlackBerry ID, as well as showing you several fundamental gestures.
Tip: If you don’t have a BlackBerry ID you’ll be able to create one during the setup process and, in the event you don’t remember your BlackBerry ID password, use the Forgot Password option to reset your BlackBerry ID password. Don’t forgot to confirm your BlackBerry ID, which can help you recover your password in case you ever forget it!
When you have finished the setup wizard, the new and improved Setup app will open automatically.
Within this app you’ll be able to complete the following actions that will help you learn more about your new device and customize everything just the way you like
Find out what’s different about BlackBerry 10
Understand the various gestures used throughout your device
Add your email and social networking accounts
Transfer data from your previous device (See step 3 to learn more!)
    Customize your device notifications
Setup BBM so you can connect with family and friends
    Set a device password
    And more!
When you have finished going through the various options within the Setup App, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to minimize it. You can always access the Setup app in the future by tapping on the Setup icon as well.
Step 3 – Transfer data from your previous device
If you are switching from another device, whether it be BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Android or iPhone, there are several different methods you can use to help transfer data to your new device.
For a visual overview, check out the following videos that guide you through this process. The Setup app on your BlackBerry Classic can also help you do this, just open the Setup app, tap Switching Devices and follow the provided steps.
Android device to BlackBerry 10 smartphone
BlackBerry OS smartphone to BlacKBerry 10 smartphone
iOS device to BlackBerry 10 smartphone
If you encounter any issues transferring your data, or would like some guidance, stop by the Device Switch board within the BlackBerry Support Community Forums and ask the community.
If you switch from another device don’t forget to perform a security wipe on your old device to remove your personal information. If your previous device was a BlackBerry device, check out our post on how to perform a security wipe.
If you use a different type of device, review the user documentation to learn how to reset it to factory settings and remove your personal information.
Step 4 – Secure your new device and turn on BlackBerry Protect
If you haven’t already set a device password, I cannot stress enough how important this is. Doing so can help prevent unwanted access if you leave your device unattended and, in the event you misplace your device, no one will be able to view your personal information. To set a device password, complete the following steps:
On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen
Tap Settings followed by Security and Privacy
    Tap Device Password
Set the Device Password switch to On
    Enter your desired password twice
After setting a device password make sure you verify that BlackBerry Protect is enabled on your device by going to Settings followed by BlackBerry Protect.
When enabled, BlackBerry Protect can help you locate, lock, or wipe your device where you are, provided your device is connected to the mobile or Wi-Fi network. To learn more about BlackBerry Protect go to http://protect.blackberry.com.
Step 5 – Where to learn more and find help
The easiest way to learn more about your new BlackBerry Classic is by opening the Help app, which contains a lot of useful information ranging from tips and tricks to how-to overviews. You can also view, download, or save the user guide for your device by visiting http://docs.blackberry.com.
I would also recommend reviewing BlackBerry Classic how-to demo videos that show the various features and functions offered by your device. These demos can be viewed on your device, computer, or tablet. Several BlackBerry Training courses are also available – make sure you try these out on your computer, or device to learn more about the BlackBerry Classic and BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1.

Introducing BlackBerry 10 OS Version 10.3.1
Supporting BlackBerry 10 OS Version 10.3.1

Another great way to learn more is by taking the BlackBerry 10 Pop Quiz, which you can find within BlackBerry World. This app offers short quizzes that can help you learn more about your device and it only takes a few minutes to complete each test – it’s the perfect coffee break companion!
To get the BlackBerry 10 Pop Quiz, open BlackBerry World and search for it or click here. Another great resource to learn more about your device, beyond this blog of course, is the BlackBerry Classic support site located at http://www.blackberry.com/classicsupport

  • BlackBerry ID request, possible malware

Everyday I get notification:- "One or more applications/services require you to verify your BlackBerry ID".

That's the BBID app on the device. It's safe. I've seen that when I haven't used a device in a while.

  • "Unable to connect to the BlackBerry ID server. Please try again. (50500)"

We have a user that is continually getting asked to verify his blackberry ID. Whenever the device turns on, tries to access apps etc.
    Whenever he types in his correct Blackberry ID details (verified as we are able to login at http://au.blackberry.com/bbid.html without any issues, both on PC and from the devices browser itself) we are met with the following error;
Unable to connect to the BlackBerry ID server. Please try again. (50500)
We have tried nearly every possible way to get around this, tried seperate BBID's (none work), different networks, resetting passwords, clearing browser cache, removing wifi networks, battery pulls etc etc. We were resigned to the fact that the device would have to be wiped however we cant even connect it to Link to take a backup without it saying "please sign in with your blackberry id on your device" within the Link window in order to backup certain stuff.
Can anyone recommend anything we can do to either fix this issue, or try and allow us to take a full backup - (note; we have already tried disabling all networks on the device and no internet connectivity on the PC its connected to and trying to run a backup as well but to no avail).

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB33916 "Unable to connect to the BlackBerry ID Server (50500)" is displayed when attempting to change the BlackBerry ID Password or Recovery Question on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone
Unfortunately, it has nothing useful (except for at least knowing that BB knows of the issue).
You might try some of the things from this "sticky" post:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/How-to-regain-access-to-your-BBID/td-p/25467...
Otherwise, you might need to ring up your mobile service provider and convince them to escalate you to formal BlackBerry support.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Blackberry 8220 messenger notification problem

I have had my 8220 for about a week and one very annoying issue I haven't been able to figure out is whenever I receive a text message in the messenger I don't get any notification ( vibration or tone ).  I have set the phone to the Vibrate & normal profile and even tried editing that profile and verified under ( blackberry messenger alerts or notification ) but I still have the same problem.  My phone vibrates & tones when I receive an e-mail or phone call, but not when I receive a messenger text.  I have no exceptions set either.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

    Hello Danielle21
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
Open your Main message Box , Go over a particular data say today , Highlight that date > press the Menu key . Select Mark prior read > then perform a Battery pull restart .
    Or read this KB :
KB21879 : How to search for unread messages on the BlackBerry smartphone
But mostly those notification push to our BlackBerry by any free application we already install in your device, if those notification are pushed again and again even after deleting then you can try to update that particular application to full version or simply uninstall that particular application with which this application is releated, to completely get rid of those push notifications.
