Verizon 8330 Curve not receiving Gmail

I have been using the verizon 8330 and my gmail account with imap.
before today I had no issues with gmail and my blackberry...but today, some of my email was getting sent and others were not.  I can still send email, but i am still not receiving email after the following:
On the blackberry
deleted gmail off BIS
reset up email
resent service books
resent host
deleted service books 
pulled battery
gmailenabled and disabled both pop and imap
Any other suggestions?

I don't know if you listed the steps in order, but I would proceed this way.
Decide on what you want the account to be Pop3 or IMAP on Google and save the settings.
Delete the email account on the Blackberry.
Recreate the account on the BIS site either on a PC or on the Blackberry
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification email. Then go to email settings and send service books.
You will get an email per account. Do a battery pull and see if the problem is
resolved.

Battery Pull:
No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.

  • All-Day Events Don't Appear in Calendar of Today Theme on Verizon 8330 Curve

    I have a new Verizon 8330 Curve synchronized with my Outlook desktop calendar.
    Using the BB Today Theme, only those calendar events lasting less than one day -- one hour, 15 minutes, etc. -- appear under the calendar on the home screen. No all-day events appear on the home screen.
    The Today theme apparently does not recognize all-day events.
    This is not acceptable. I have plenty of all-day events in the calendar that ought to be appearing on the home screen, alongside 15-minute events, when they're coming up next.
    The Verizon tech people are totally perplexed by this, saying they've not heard of such an issue. They think there may be a problem with the Curve device, and they're sending me a new one.
    However, I've seen a fair amount of discussion online concerning this quirk, so it seems like there's a bona fide synchronization problem between the Blackberry calendar/theme and Outlook as it pertains to all-day events.
    Could somebody from Blackberry please weigh in with a definitive solution? I can't be the only guy in America who care about the fact that birthdays, anniversaries, etc. are not appearing on the BB home screen under the Today theme.

    I take it then you don't have a memory problem. Just to clarify, your events on the calendar are fine, it's just the display
    on the home screen where they disappear?
    Have you tried a battery pull to reset all options?  Pill the battery from the phone while it is ON, leave it out for about a
    minute and replace. Leave the system completly reboot 1-2 minutes and see if the problem continues. This is a common fix on these forums.

  • Can't click on links and buttons from verizon 8330 curve

    I am currently working on developing a web system using HTML & PHP.  I have it up and running in a development environment, but when I look at it from my blackberry (Verizon 8330 Curve) I can see the page, but I can't click on anything. (Links or Buttons)  I asked a coworker to try from his phone (Verizon Storm) and he didn't have any trouble.  So my question is what am I doing wrong where nothing is appearing as usable?  I wanted to make sure that my coding wasn't the problem so I created a test page and had the same problem.  Below is the code I am using from the test page.

  • Mail sends but will not receive gmail

    I just upgraded to a new iMac and transferred all my data via Time Machine.  My mail app will send emails but not recieve them.  yesterday after reading on here that making a new account, I could fix this, I found that I I now cannot see any of my past received emails.  That's very troubling. 
    Anyway, any ideas on why mail would send but not receive gmail?

    What do you see for that account if you invoke Mail's menu option Window > Connection Doctor?
    Pay particular attention to the settings under the "Advanced" tab for that account in the Mail preference "Accounts" panel.

  • 8330 curve not being able to view mms messages

    8330 curve, i can't open and play mms messages sent by text message. It says in order to view this message go to you axcessmypic.com to view.  I'm with alltel and they don't seem to have a answer for me.  I have received messages with my old razor and never had an issue with that phone. I would sure think that this blackberry would be capable of opening these messages.

    It is not Blackberry, it is your carrier. Alltel recently added MMS service and for a lot of users it doesn not yet function properly.

  • Not receiving gmail to notification center

    Hi, I am not receiving notifications of messages to my gmail account in the notification center on my iMac but I do receive notifications of the same messages on my iPhone. Can't work out why this is?

    If you don't know what it is you probably don't have it.  But it's an extra layer of security for gmail (other companies use it too) whenever you type in your password a code will be sent to your phone so no one else but you can sign in.  But, in mail.app you need an app specific password which is a special password for it because gmail can't send you a text unless you are using gmail.com.  But if you don't have that, if you click the specific mailbox, then go to mailbox in the menubar and hit rebuild that should fix the problem.  It has to redownload all your mail, so it might not appear for a while.

  • Not receiving Gmail that I send from my own account

    I seem to be receiving Gmail just fine on my BB device except when I send or copy a message to myself.  I am able to receive those emails without issue in other email clients (Gmail via web, IMAP/Outlook).   Has anyone experienced this and have a solution?
    Details:
    VZW Blackberry Tour 9630
    Email setup on BB - default, plus setup to synchronize & reconcile deleted items between mailbox & device.
    Gmail POP setup:  I had previously had this disabled, but seems that Blackberry turns it on when the account is setup on the device.
    Gmail IMAP:  Enabled, this is how I access my Gmail from Outlook.

  • Apple Mail not receiving Gmail replies

    I've been using Apple Mail with one of my Gmail accounts and it seems that for some reason its not picking up personal emails that are being sent to me as a reply? I'm still receiving corporate emails such as twitter, soundcloud etc. but there is no sign of the replies that are being sent from friends and colleages. When i log into the actual Gmail site there is no trace of the email i sent being sent either aswell as the no trace of any email being received.
    Connection doctor is green for every other account accept for this one in which it says 'Trying to log in to this SMTP acount failed. Verify that username and password are correct' and i know 100% that the password and username aren't the problem.

  • Mac Mail/thunderbird - not receiving gmail from just one user

    I have an important correspondence with a particular person who uses gmail.  All of a sudden, none of his emails are being received by my Mac Mail on my domestic and work Macs and also on a RDC PC server using Thunderbird account set up identically.  Yet, I am receiving all my usual other correspondence (I think!).  He is now copying all correspondence to both my Mac Mail address and a separate gmail account address.  I receive all his correspondence on gmail. I have not found his e-mails in my Junk box.  Nor are they present when I search for his name.  I wonder if there is some setting he has to change on his gmail, or if there is something weird about the filters for both Mac Mail and Thunderbird that are screening out his e-mails, but permitting them on gmail.  I have tried to use my Mac Mail for all important professional correspondence and gmail just for commercial transactions and hence I habitually only screen Mac Mail.  Please could you help me troubleshoot this.  I assume it must have something to do with his gmails and not anything particularly specific with Mac Mail - but there may be a filter setting I need to change.
    Domestic computer:  Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)  MacBook Pro
    Processor  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB

    p.s.  Nothing unusual about the attachments - they are pdf and I can/have received numerous in the past from others with no problem.

  • IMessage sent to verizon phone number not received

    My friend has a Verizon iPhone 4S and an iPad.
    She has her phone # and email address associated with iMessage on both the iPhone and the iPad.
    As of today, iMessages sent to her phone number  (for example, from my AT&T iPhone 5 and everyone else) never appear on her iPhone.
    These iMessages, however, do appear in "Messages" on the iPad.
    iMessages sent to the e-mail address do appear on both the iPhone and iPad!
    This is really bad, as she is not getting any iMessages sent to the phone number on the iPhone  ( that is any text message from anyone on the iMessage network).
    Any ideas? This is so bizarre. I can imagine an iMessage getting lost, but why would it just not appear on one device...

    SIgned out ALL devices of iMessage
    Sent text message to the iPhone - it showed up as a regular green text message as expected
    Signed devices back in , starting with the iPhone
    Back at the same situation. iPhone not getting iMessages that are sent to the phone #.
    I wonder if there is some problem in the IMessage world.

  • Text from Verizon IPhone 5s not received in Sweden

    My texts that I send to Sweden are delivered as garbled 4-character words. This was not an issue for the same recipient when I was on a Sprint IPhone 4s (until three days ago)
    I can, however, receive texts from the same recipient. This is not an IMessage issue.

    Are you using WiFi or cellular data? If you're on WiFi, try turning WiFi off temporarily and test it on the cellular data network.
    When the phone goes into standby, the WiFi radio will be powered down to conserve battery life after a few minutes. If you're getting messages while the phone is in standby, that may be why, if there is a problem with the WiFi network.
    Have you done any troubleshooting at all?
    Reboot? Reset network Settings? Reset your router? etc.?

  • Verizon Blackberry Curve to Verizon Samsung Alias 2 Not Recieving Texts?

    My friend who owns a verizon blackberry curve can receive texts from my samsung alias 2, but when they respond, I can not get the texts. We have experienced this problem often and have been using the instant messenger to fix it, but it's not ideal for what we would like. This problem has happened over about a month now, and we attempt to check if it works daily. This only happens for text messeges. I can receive calls and picture messages from them. What would cause this issue? Also, we have contracts in the same area.

    Which Blackberry Curve does your friend have? An issue has been discovered where customers with Blackberry Curve (8530)  and BlackBerry Curve 3G (9330) devices, are unable to send SMS messages to 11 digit addresses. This issue will also occur when replying to previous message threads that contain 11 digit addresses even if the customer addresses the message to a 10 digit address. As a temporary solution, for the Blackberry user, you should address all SMS messages to 10 digit addresses. In addition, the customer should delete any message threads containing 11 digit addresses and compose new threads using 10 digit addresses. The issue is being investigated. 

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 Not Receiving AOL Emails

    About 2-3 days ago, my Blackberry stopped receiving AOL emails which also includes my Facebook notifications. My Yahoo emails come through fine.
    Please list as many suggestions as possible that I can try to fix this.  
    I have requested access to my email settings as I have forgotten my password but I have not received my password via my Blackberry - my Yahoo account is my main email account.
    This is frustrating - please help!

    If I had a penny for every time someone made that threat. It is so fun, is it not? One of the benefits we have in this world is choice...each of us is free to do so...making threats to do so is silly, IMO. Especially in your first post in this user-to-user volunteer-contributed forum.
    You already are in the formal support queue with your carrier. I suggest you continue to pursue that. They have the ability to escalate your case all the way into RIM. You should be asking for that.

  • Google Maps no longer works for my Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. What is wrong with Google???

    For the past 11 months, Google Maps and Gmail have worked wonderfully with my Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. Tonight, all of it stopped working. I tried to load Google Maps and failed. Kept getting the error message "Network Unavailable, blah blah blah". I tried restarting the phone, removing and reinserting the battery, until I finally uninstalled Google Maps. Now when I point my browser (OperaMini) to m.google.com to download and reinstall Google Maps, it says "Sorry the Google Maps application does not work on your 8330." This makes NO sense. Why would Google suddenly remove support for my phone? Is there a work around? Before uninstalled, I tried all sorts of tricks with editing permissions to no avail.
    Also, Gmail is refusing to check mail, occasionally saying that a data connection is needed. That also makes NO sense as I have great phone reception.
    My internet (OperaMini) and normal calling and texting capabilities are unaffected.
    In conclusion: Is there ANY WAY to get these Google applications to reinstall and work on my phone? Or has Google screwed me over? Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

  • Upgrading 8330 Curve Software to 4.5 from Verizon

    Recently I upgraded my 8330 Curve with the new 4.5 software.
    Afterwards, pictures and Media do not appear in emails or in the browser without having to
    hit the menu key and click on "Display Images".
    I spoke with Verizon Tech Services for 2 hours and tried everything they had to offer.
    After Backing up the unit and Synchronizing we wiped the phone clean and reloaded the 4.5
    software.
    The same problem still exists and Verizon had no further solutions.
    Is there a fix for this or should I dare get a Corona and skip this thing across Megans Bay.

    1. This is something I do every Sunday. If I don't the browser becomes bogged down and won't open web pages.
        A. Got to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Click Menu, Register Now.
        B. After Registration has been sent and received, I remove the battery (while the divice is on) wait a few minutes. Replace the battery and
            allow the device to reboot.
        C. dial *228 and allow Verizon to re-program the phone. This is always succesful.
    2. Send Service Books
    3. Synchronize with BB Desktop Manager.
    4. Upgrade Desktop Manager to v4.7
    5. Upload "New" Device Software 4.5.0.77 (Platform 3.2.0.51)
    6. Wipe phone clean.
    7. Upload new 4.5 software to phone.
    8. Synchronize Phone.
    9. Go to "Options", "Screen/Keyboard, set Font size and style.
    10. Go to "Options", Security, General Settings, Enable Content Compression.
    11. Go to "Options", Advanced, Browser Push, Enable Push, Enable MDS and WAP. Auto selected on all others.
    12. Send emails to self from Desktop Computer. and Repeat Step 1.
    I think thats it.
