Verizon blocking my static IP (just assigned to me)

I know this is the forum for verizon users, but I'm just hoping a moderator will see and escalate this issue, because I'm having no success via email or phone getting through to Verizon.
I just purchased a dedicated server a month ago to move my business server to, was assigned 2 IP addresses, and both are blocked by Verizon for myself and family being able to send email from my server through to a Verizon user.  I went to the Whitelist link provided by Verizon in the rejection notice, put my IP in, and received a canned response that I was on a permanent block list.
"How can you have a permanent block list in a system that is so dynamic" I thought to myself, especially with everyone moving to the cloud and static IPs no longer meaning static to one company as companies move between cloud services, but anyway, the point is that I can't get through to anyone to get these unblocked, and there is no obvious way to "request" to a live human being to have it assessed.
My email servers are configured with SPF and DKIM, no open relay, I block incoming SPAM with RBLs, everything else is firewalled, I'd really just like to be able to send email to my verizon clients again soon, because sending them an email from a generic gmail account is very unprofessional but that's what I have to do right now.
Moderators, please escalate my problem as I've seen you do in other posts, I'm out of ideas.
Thanks,
Chris
p.s. if it helps, I was a Verizon fios Business static IP customer for many years before this, and the only reason I cancelled my service is that I moved to the country where you don't offer it, which is why I had to move my server to a cloud provider.

  • Verizon blocks ports?

    I have DSL & Actiontec GT704-WG. I opened a port to host online game, but when I use a port scanner found here: http://www.canyouseeme.org/
    It tells me my port is closed even though I forwarded everything correctly. Does verizon block any ports besides 80? I only use windows firewall so i know its not a firewall problem. Anyone with same router can help me?
    Thanks
    heres a snapshot of my router
    http://i45.tinypic.com/105edd5.jpg

    Verizon itself doesn't block ports at the head end besides port 25 for smtp outgoing email.  they basically don't let spammers bounce messages off their smtp servers to send emails.   Port 80 is questionably blocked by region - I have seen a lot of users in the forums that have port 80 unblocked.  and then sporadically a user forum member will say its blocked but most people say its unblocked now.  VZ made that decision middle of last year.
    The router that verizon provides has a firewall and like all firewalls it blocks a BUNCH of stuff.  that's what firewalls do.  it's kinda their gig.
    If you port forward, try to use portforward.com for a good guide.
    Basically this is stuff you probably know, but I'll recap just in case.
    Set your pc to have it's own IP address   - you'll configure that on your PC nic settings under tcpip v4
    then go into the router, and open the proper ports.  I don't know what ports your game wants, but make sure the source port is set to any, and do not specify a number in that section.
    make sure its pointed to the IP you gave your PC, and apply the changes and try again.
    if that doesn't work there may be one or two users here that will pop up that may have additional info, but you can also reach out on the portforward.com forums and see if you can get some answers there,   DSL Tech support won't help with any port forward configurations.  they consider it advanced and out of their boundaries.

  • Logging into home remotely - is Verizon blocking incoming connection requests?

    I'm trying to set up my computer at home so that I can access it from my in-laws, who are also FIOS customers and from my Android device via Sprint's network.   Both of these use SSH as the protocol, and on the theory that port 22 might be blocked, I set up the Actiontec to map an alternate port  (1977) to port 22 on my server.  My first attempt was to use the port forwarding capability in the router, but I have been unsuccessful in establishing a connection from outside my network.
    I've tried configuring  my server as the DMZ for the Actiontec, which makes me nervous, but I was running out of ideas.  I even turned the firewall off on the PPoE connection but that didn't help either.
    From outside my network, I can ping the WAN IP address assigned by Verizon to my router, so inbound ICMP packets are OK, at least as far as getting to the Actiontec
    I can log onto my server while on my local network, but not from outside the network.
    I'm running out of ideas.  Does anyone know of a way to dump packets coming to the Actiontec so that I can tell if the inbound TCP packets make it to my router?
    Does Verizon block inbound TCP requests for residential service?  For all ports?
                                      Thanks for any info,
                                Joe H.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I don't have it working yet, but I was able to run a test that forwarded the port to my laptop and I see (via wireshark) the inbound connection.  So, while I can log into my server locally, I must have some sort of firewall rule on that server that's preventing connections from the outside.
    Verizon, I apologize for implying you were blocking.   This looks like a local issue on my end.

    This is a customer to customer forum, with a few support folks floating in from time to time...
    I work extensively with WordPress, took the liberty and ran a scan of your site and it's not blacklisted on any of the major listings.  It came up on my phone just fine using wifi, but if I turned off the wifi and used my 4G data connection, it timed out and wouldn't load the page.  Is that what you mean by being "blocked" by Verizon?
    Unfortunately, I'm just a customer and have no access to the inner workings of Verizon's IP blocking stats (if this is what's happening).  I can't do more than confirm that I can't see the site using my 4G Verizon cellular connection, but I can, on the same device, using wifi.

  • As a Verizon FIOS client, can we just use Ethernet cable to connect to time capsule, or do we need their router to connect to the time capsule?

    As a Verizon FIOS client, can we just use Ethernet cable to connect to time capsule or do we need the Verizon router to connect to time capsule?

    The Time Capsule is indeed a wireless router with simultaneous dual band capability...and a hard drive for backup purposes. You can use that to your advantage if you configure the Time Capsule as I suggested in Bridge Mode.
    The Time Capsule will provide a 802.11n 5 GHz band and a 802.11n/g/b compatible 2.4 GHz band to allow virtually any device to connect to the network.
    I suppose that you could also use the "g" wireless network provided by the Verizon router as a "guest" network or something similar if you really do need another wireless network.
    It might be possible to configure the Time Capsule as the main router on the network....that's a question for Verizon. But even if you might be able to do this, I'm sure it is not supported by Verizon, so you would be on your own in the event of any Internet connection difficulties on your service.
    And, since the Time Capsule does not have a built in modem....you would still need to add a separate modem to the installation anyway.
    That's why my suggestion is to use the Verizon device as the "modem" and let the Time Capsule provide the dual band wireless network and of course, handle the Time Machine backups.

    I need block a particular site, just like in IE when i goto Privacy option I can specify and site & say Block - where can i find thi s in firefox?
    I've been getting some junk websites while I am working. I need to block them completely.
    Please advise. Thanks,

    There is no equivalent in Firefox. You can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3145/ BlockSite] extension to add a similar feature.
    If the junk sites are coming up whilst you are browsing, this may be caused by malware. You should consider scanning your computer with some malware programs. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:

    how to create and configure privileges like how to assign privileges to help desk, server administrator, desktop administrator if any way to customize the privileges based on role i mean just assign the privileges to security gurop?

    Yes, you can read the Wiki you started here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20292.delegation-of-administration-in-active-directory.aspx
    Mainly, you can create security groups, delegate them rights on your platforms and then just add/remove users to these groups.

  • Static Block vs Static Method

    Hi,
    what is the diff. b/w declaring the variable inside the static block vs static method?
    Why static block is executed first before static method?
    Once the class has been loaded inside the memory the static block will automatically executed by the compiler & it will executed before any static methods. What is the reason behind this why? static block is executed before static method? Please do provide an answer for this..
    Thanks,
    JavaLover

    Um.
    A static method is like a regular method; it only gets called if its...called.
    public class Test
      static
         //this stuff executes after being loaded into memory
      public static void main(string args[])
        //this main method is executed by the VM when you execute "java Test"
        staticMethod(); // this makes the program call staticMethod();
      public static void staticMethod()
        //this code wouldn't be executed if main(string[]) hadn't called it.
    }Hope everything I've said here is correct.

  • How do I protect my Verizon blocked number when texting?

    I was shocked to find that my Verizon iPhone blocked number was in fact revealed when I sent text to an Android user who was employing a little app refused by Apple named Mr. Number.  I like to know that I am safe and protected and when and when I'm not.  I like to have anonymity upon certain occasions when using my phone.  I had always placed trust in Apple for ther supposedly having my best interests in mind as they control their world and the trade-off to us, their loyal consumers, was to expect a safe and well managed environment.  I have found so many instances where this is not the case.
    After finding that my blocked number was revealed to this Android user employing his Mr. Number app, I immediately did a search and ended up at the app store and downloaded everything I could find that promised to do a similar thing, though ultimately nothing did what Mr. Number does.  I even paid for two or three of them and upon initial review, I found that not one actually even did what they claimed to do.  I'll of course be spending more time with each to see if I've missed anything, but I have to say how very very dissappointed I am in Apple for not providing more security to its iPnone users when it surly must know what we are up against.  Apple does in fact know about Mr. Number as after visiting their web site they state that "Apple doesn’t allow developers to build better calling and texting apps for the iPhone."  I surly agree with this statement.
    Apple!  Please consider the vulnerability we have as you've not allowed us to protect our privacy sufficiently.
    Are there any suggestions or resources, apps etc.., that I've not heard of?  Any suggestions to making my phone more protected when it comes to my phone number and other information associated with it?
    Many thanks in advance!

    just assumed that I was being protected when using it.  Not the case I find, by accident.  So much for assuming...and not getting into the fine details with, I guess, Verizon as I pay them for the basic blocing service...or at least I think I pay...maybe ints included...
    Caller number blocking { ie your number when you call someone } ONLY covers the CALL part of the service. There is NO way to block your phone number EVER when sending a text message.

  • VOIP has stopped working -- FIOS Internet -- Verizon blocking ports?

    Background:
    I have two VOIP device, one is from VOIP.com (HT-286) and the other is my Blackberry 8220 wifi-enabled phone.
    Until December, I had Cox Internet for the last two years -- ZERO problems with the above devices.  I made and received phone calls just fine.
    FIOS internet installed early december.  Both devices worked fine on install.  I made and recevieved VOIP phone calls with both the VOIP.com device (Home phone) and my wifi Blackberry.
    I've taken my VOIP box over to the neighbor's to test it -- works fine.  I plug into their router and have no problems.  My wifi Blackberry works just fine when I go to to the bookstore or coffee shop (Free wifi).
    Internet (as defined by using PC web browser) and TV work fine.  We have VOIP service with VOIP.com.
    Problem:
    About two weeks ago, I noticed that I would occasionally get phone calls on the blackberry and there would be no one there. I didn't think anything of it until my wife finally asked me why she couldn't make outgoing calls on the house phone.
    I tested it, and this is what I found:
    BOTH PHONES:
    Phone rings.  "Dead" call.  However, the caller can hear ME but I cannot hear them
    I make outgoing call on VOIP/house phone:  I get dial tone, and dial as normal, but once I've dialed, SILENCE.  No ring, nothing.  The called phone will ring but I will not hear it, nor hear the other party answering.  I can call my wife's cel phone (Tmobile) or work phone and it rings.  She can hear me, but I cannot hear her.
    I make outgoing calls on wifi Blackberry:  Enter number and press send as normal, but SILENCE.  Same symptoms as above.
    As I said, I've taken both devices to other networks and they work fine.  NOTHING was changed on the router in the time frame EXCEPT the name of the SSID, which I changed the very first day --both devices were working for several weeks after.
    I have powered off and restarted the router a dozen times and I just did a "hard" reset to return it to the factory settings :: my voip service still is not working properly.
    WHAT I HAVE DONE:
    I called Verizon FIOS Internet support.  They say since I can watch TV and access the web, that nothing is wrong.
    I called VOIP.com and they say they see the device coming into their network, but they cannot see if Verizon is blocking ports 5060-5070.
    Blackberry support flat-out says that Verizon is blocking ports.
    Can someone help?

    VZ isn't blocking those ports.  they only have restrictions on port 25, and in some areas port 80.  all other ports are open.
    I would reach back out to voip.com and see if you can escelate it with them.    you can also go to portforward.com and see if they have any walkthrough guides for your particular device.    if you have a friend with fios you can try switching routers to see if that is the culprit, but there is nothing in your description that suggests to me that it would be a router issue.     Also look into QOS if your VOIP people can give you any information on that,   it may also be an avenue you would want to explore if you have VOIP transpiring over there.

  • Does Verizon block outgoing email?

    I have three email accounts, one from gmail and two from owned domains.  I use Thunderbird to recieve and send email.  For the past week, I have not been able to send email from one of my email accounts.  This is the error that I receive:
    An error occurred while sending mail.  The mail server responded: Unauthorized relay msg rejected. Please check the message recipients and try again.
    I have checked my settings, and nothing has changed in the last week.  The only "work around" I have is to use send through one of my other email addresses.
    Email comes in fine for all three email addresses.  And I can send fine with two of them, gmail and one of my owned domains.
    Please let me know if Verizon has started to block the sending of some emails and what I might be able to do about it.
    Thank you,
    Anne Plouffe

    Verizon recently started implementing port 25 blocking as a way to combat spammers on their network. If you are using your non-verizon.net address to send via a pop3 client, this may be the cause of your issue.
    There is more information available at http://www.verizon.net/port25
    If you have any questions about the information found there just say so, and myself or one of the other forum members will do our best to find an answer for you.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is Verizon blocking all external SMTP servers now? 465 / 587 not working either

    I have an Dreamhost hosting account which handles all my email, don't use Verizon at all.
    For last year or so have used 587 w/ STARTTLS with no issues. Always worked fine.
    Suddenly can't connect at all from Verizon. Configuration unchanged on client side, but all attempts to contact that host will timeout.  But fire up my VPN to tunnel the traffic and it works fine.  And exact same client PC works fine in dozens of other locations / networks with same config.
    Can't find anything at all in my router that would indicate an issue.  Config unchanged from when it was working fine.
    Tried 465 w/ SSL/TLS and same result - works great via tunnel, blocked on Verizon.
    Recap:
    Destination SMTP server = a Dreamhost server
    587 / STARTTLS fails to connect via Verizon, fine via VPN and same client hardware/config on other networks
    465 / SSL/TLS fails to connect via Verizon, fine via VPN and same client hardware/config on other networks
    Any suggestions?  Has Verizon suddenly blocked a number of hosting companies? Quite irritating to have to fire up the tunnel just because of sending basic emails.

    Based on your description of the issue, I wonder if maybe Dreamhost is blocking connections from your IP? Do you know if your IP address has changed recently?
    I would recommend getting a new IP address to see if that helps. The simplest way to do this is to turn off your router for a few hours. (Before you go to bed or out to run errands are good times.)

  • BPM Message Split in Block par for Each: Just last message is sent n-times

    Hello everybody,
    we got BPM with a message split. In a par-for-each block the message is send.
    Asuming I have 3 lines in the multiline container element, I can see in SXMB_MONI that that message is send 3 times.
    The error is, that 3 times the last message is send.
    <u>Sample Error:</u>
    Message incoming in BPM:
    <root>
      <mymessage>M1</mymessage>
      <mymessage>M2</mymessage>
      <mymessage>M3</mymessage>
    </root>
    Messages outgoing:
    <root>
      <mymessage><b>M3</b></mymessage>
    </root>
    <root>
      <mymessage><b>M3</b></mymessage>
    </root>
    <root>
      <mymessage><b>M3</b></mymessage>
    </root>
    --> As you can see, just the last message M3 is send 3 times!
    What can I do?
    Regards Mario

    If I take the payload from SXMB_MONI an try to test, I get an syntax error when I copy&paste the data into the message mapping.
    This is very strange, because
    a) the message mapping is done on basis of imported IDOCs!
    b) the BPM works without throwing a mapping error
    So what should I do?

  • Has anyone else noticed that the Verizon reps in here are just not very helpful?

    Maybe its me, but I notice that the worse responses to someone in need come from those with Verizon customer service.  Its like they are not really paying attention to the question, responses, or problem and just type a pat scripted response with this annoying fake empathy.
    I'll start.
    Advice #1:
    I think every Verizon Rep in this community forum should get a cell phone. An Android smartphone...on the Verizon network....one that just recently got the Kit Kat update.  I WANT THEM TO FEEL OUR PAIN!!!!
    (From many of the VZW CS responses, its like there are clueless to what is going on. Like they don't have any experience with the cell phones problems we describe.)
