Verizon discounts eligible through Apple?

I am getting the iPhone 4S ASAP which would be this coming Friday. Verizon has given my account $100 towards a new phone of a new 2 year contract. I was wondering if that when I get the phone through the apple store online (personal preference), will I able to use that $100 towards the new phone? I realize that his is a question to ask apple, but I have already asked them and they told me to contact Verizon.
Thanks!

Good morning and thank you to kaebfly and gina7289 for your responses!
As previously mentioned, if you are eligible for the New Every 2 discount, it can only be redeemed through Verizon Wireless, as we cannot tell any other store or company to give you an additional discount.  Therefore, it is best to place your order through My Verizon if you would like to use your New Every 2 credit.
Thank you,

  • Pre-ordering through Apple or Verizon?

We have a family plan and it is my wife's line that is eligible for an upgrade.  A Verizon rep told me yesterday that we could use her upgrade and activate the phone on my number.
My question is, is this easily accomplished if I order the phone through Apple, or will it come already activated on the line that is eligible?  Since I need to do this, do I need to order through Verizon?

I don't have experience ordering the iPhone from Apple but I have ordered every iPod I've owned (except the ones I received as gifts) from Apple. I've always received quicker than expected delivery with absolutely no issues. I would have ordered my iPhone back in February through them but I wanted to use my New Every 2 credit so I had to order through Verizon to ensure that I was able to use the credit. I've never had a problem with ordering from Verizon either. The biggest issue (if you could even call it that) was the slowness of receiving my tracking number via email. Mind you, this was when the iPhone first came to Verizon and it was during the preorder...so in VZ's defense, there were a lot of orders taking place that had to be shipped...and despite the "slow" email I received my iPhone quickly and before the date it was available in stores. Honestly, I don't think it matters which one you order from. Baring some odd issue you will recieve your iPhone in a timely manner. Those that ordered through Apple may have received their confirmation emails with tracking info quicker (really can't remember), but to be honest, people were very impatient at that time....and were already freaking out when they didn't receive an email by 10:00 am on the date it was ordered! Many were hoping that since they ordered at midnight (3:01 am est) they would receive their iPhone that next day...it didn't happen that quickly but I know I received mine on that Monday morning...if I remember correctly, pre-order was on the 3rd....I recieved mine on the 7th. since we had to factor in the weekend (and the fact that Saturday deliveries weren't being done...and they don't deliver on Sundays) that wasn't bad at all.

  • Preordered iPhone 5 for Verizon (through Apple Store) will it come with a SIM card for LTE or do I need one from Verizon? (Noticed their preorder site says it is included)

Sorry, didnt clarify, Verizon's site said it is included but Apple's (where I preordered) did not mention it.

  • Verizon Discounts

After viewing over 10 pages of questions about Verizon Discounts, I am appalled at the confusion about Verizon discounts.  Surely there is a website or a section of Verizon's site that gives specifics about discounts.  We need to know:  What discounts are offered i.e. military discounts, employee discounts (what companies have agreements?), employer discounts (what employers have agreements?), AARP, unions (which unions), AAA, etc.  Please list the discounts offered by Verizon and there won't be so much confusion.  We may be eligible for a discount we did not even know about.  Why be so secret about it?   If Verizon offers discounts to their customers, let us know about them.  I am retired and have no employer right now.  Am I eligible for a discount through AARP, or perhaps through one of the unions I belong to??  Geeeeeeez why make this so difficult??

Let's make sure to clear up any confusion, areacode270. We absolutely want our customers to get any discount possible through their current employer. Although the discount is offered to your Verizon Wireless service, the discount is actually a result of each individual company's agreement with us, which can change anytime. HR departments usually have a list of discounts their employees may be able to receive. Customers can also visit www.vzw.com/discounts to enter an employee email address or submit a paystub to see if a discount is offered. Most discounts do require you to be a current employee. There is no AARP membership discount, but what company did you retire from? Were you ever in the military? We're not hiding any secrets and would be happy to see if there's a discount offered to you.

  • Buying phone through Apple vs. through AT&T

I love my first gen iPhone and am excited about the 3G-S. I was able to buy the 32GB phone for $299 through Apple online...kind of a late night spur of the moment purchase. Anyway - come to find out that if I were to buy through AT&T I would've had to buy for $499 since I have 7 months left on my 2Year contract. This new 3GS is coming in the mail...anyone have any ideas on the trouble I may have upgrading to this phone through AT&T? BTW - I called AT&T and told them I purchased it through Apple and they just said , "Just call us and we'll switch it over". (But I didn't tell them I bought it for $299)

    ATTGuy,
I have a similar issue. I currently have a family plan with one 8GB 3G iphone and three "free" ($200 retail) phones. None of them are eligible for upgrade yet (but I am eligible for a $499 early upgrade to a 32GB 3GS). I want to get rid of one of the other phones, buy a 32GB 3GS, and give my 3G to my daughter. Any idea if I should just pay the $499 and add the $30 data plan to my daughters phone, or if I should pay a termination fee on one of the other phones and swap the numbers around?

  • Will plan change when ordering iPhone 6 through Apple's Site?

I am trying to upgrade to the iPhone 6 through Apple's site.  I am currently on the Loyalty plan with Verizon ($60/month for 2g data and unlimited voice and texts).  When I go through Apple's site, it is requiring me to select a data plan and then it is tacking that on top of my "current voice plan" - increasing my expected monthly bill by $30.  When I try to order through Verizon, it allows me to keep my same plan. Here's a screenshot:
I'd like to order through Apple so that I can get the phone faster.  My question is, if I do order through Apple, will it mess up my plan?  Should I just order it and then call Verizon to make sure the Apple changes to my plan don't carry over?  It appears as though when ordering through Apple, the changes in my bill will take effect immediately.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for checking in with us elmoemily. I know how important it is to keep your current plan. Since Apple doesn't have the option to see promotional plans and such, they will ask you to change your plan, as you are seeing. However, when you go to activate your phone, you can simply call us, and we can ensure that you can keep your current plan. You won't be at risk of losing it. No need to worry! I am excited for you to get your new phone!

  • Should've PRE ordered my iPhone 5 through sprint... I'd have it tomorrow.... NOT HAPPY that I ordered through apple...

So I pre ordered my iPhone 5-- 15 minutes after pre orders started online at 2 am (central time) and pre ordered a black 16 gb iPhone with a delivery date of 9-21 (which is fairly common I guess for most people that ordered that early)
Literally an hour AFTER I pre ordered my iphone 5 on APPLE- my husband decides last second he wants me to pre order him one if there's any left... of course Apple's pre order delivery date had been pushed to 2-3 weeks an hour after pre orders had opened at 2 am, so I quickly logged onto SPRINT's website and noticed they still had some available for 9/21 delivery so I pre ordered him the same iPhone as me....
Well I am wondering if ANY one that ordered through Apple has gotten their iPhone SHIPPED yet- because my order is STILL being processed for shipment and my HUSBANDS iPhone 5 I had pre ordered through SPRINT is going to be delivered by TOMORROW....
*** is that about?? I thought I was making a smart decision and would get my iPhone FASTER by pre ordering through the SOURCE of the iPhone.... NOT A CELL PHONE CARRIER... I am BEYOND mad that an hour after ordering mine at the butt crack of dawn I ordered my husbands phone and his will be here 3 DAYS BEFORE release day!? MINE HASNT EVEN SHIPPED........
    >:( LAST time I EVER order directly through Apple for a phone... EVER...

I was trying to order through Sprint first at 12am PST but couldn't get on their website.  Finally at 12:30am the Apple site worked for me so I went through them.  My mom ordered two phones from Verizon at the exact same time(both lines had an upgrade available).  One of the orders got an error on it and Verizon could not tell her why when she called them this morning.  They had her cancel her order and replace the order, she did and the sales rep she talked to her supposedly put her back in line where she was and assured her that she would recieve both phones on Friday, so we shall see.

  • How do I connect My Macbook Pro screen to my TV wirelessly through Apple TV

I went to am apple store and was told I could do it wirelessly through apple Tv. Can i or not help me please??

Hi George. AirPlay Mirroring only works with iPads and iPhones. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4085
Now, if you just want to push video content playing in iTunes on your Mac, then go down to the lower right corner of the iTunes window and click the AirPlay icon and select your AppleTV in the list. The content will appear on your AppleTV.
You must have Home Sharing setup on both iTunes on the Mac and the settings on the AppleTV.

  • I have updated my iOS and now my hotmail will not verify my password through apple mail app.  I have reset password - tried new password and old password and it still gives me password incorrect.  Hotmail works fine on Mac.  Has anyone had this difficulty

I have updated my iOS and now my hotmail will not verify my password through apple mail app.  I have reset password - tried new password and old password and it still gives me password incorrect.  Hotmail works fine on Mac.  Has anyone had this difficulty and been able to resolve it?

Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back?   I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

  • I have 4 ipods 4th gen and want to know if one program to purchase through apple to share the music I've purchased on all of them. Is it the icloud AND itunes match?

I have 4 ipods all 4th gen and want to know if one program is available to purchase through apple to have all music I've purchased can be used on all of them. Is it a combo of both itunes match and icloud?

You don't need iTunes Match to have your music in all your devices. iTunes Match is for getting music that you've purchased elsewhere into the cloud. All you need to do is set up each of your devices to your iTunes Store account. You can then download things you've purchased by going to the Purchased section. See:

  • How can I transfer my music from an external hard drive to my Time Capsule and can I play it through apple TV?

All my music is currently stored on an external hard drive, but I would like to transfer everything onto my Time Capsule, so that everything is backed up, what is the best way to do this?
Is there a way I can then play all the content stored on the Time Capsule through apple tv without the need to clog up my macbook hard drive?

Did you import the music on the external hard drive into your iTunes library on your new PC or point iTunes at the location of your library stored on the external hard drive?

  • HT4437 What is difference between air play and home sharing if you just want to show iPhoto's on HD tv through apple tv (just purchased MacBook Air and Apple tv)

What is difference between air play and home sharing when wanting to show photos on HD tv through apple tv?  Just bought Mac book air and apple tv.

You would have to use home-sharing if streaming from a computer. Computer would need to be on and running iTunes.

Airplay would be useful if streaming from an IOS device

  • How to eliminate subtitles when streaming Netflix through Apple TV?

When streaming movies from Netflix through Apple TV, sub-titles appeared and we canot find a menu or symbol to click to eliminate the sub titles.  They carry over to our next item.  How can I eliminate the sub titles. (This is only a problem with Apple TV.  Able to eliminate them on computer or I Pad.

Push and hold the menu button while the content is playing.  It will bring up a menu for captioning if the content has an option to chang it.

  • Can I see my Macbook Pro's screen on my TV through Apple TV?

    Hi,
I just recently got a Macbook Pro and have been looking into the Apple TV device. I will be starting school soon, so I would like to use it just for Netflix but I also would like to mirror what is on my laptop onto it (so that I can use my Macbook as a dvd player when there is nothing good on Netflix).
So I was wondering, can a Macbook screen be mirrored into the TV through Apple TV just like the iPhone and iPad? I keep hearing that with Mountain Lion I would be able to do this, so I just wanted to keep asking around to confirm, is this true? If not, does anyone know of any ways I could do that?
    Thank you!

Currently no, but if it's a recent Mac then probably yes when Mountain Lion OS is released in coming weeks.
When did you get the Mac? - if it's very recently you may be entitled to a free ML upgrade.  If not it's fairly cheap.

  • Volume control for video playback through Apple TV2

I am trying to configure the volume settings used on airplay through apple TV2 and a macbook pro and Iphone4 all with most recent updates.
I am using the apple remote app on my iphone to control the apple tv.
    Whats working:
Using the pandora app on my iphone through aiplay to the apple tv, I can control the volume using the plus and minus buttons on the side of the iphone for volume control. Very cool and easy.
Using the apple remote app on my iphone I can control the itunes volume of different speakers by clicking on the airplay icon and using a slider.  Not as cool as using the hard +/- buttons but still works.
    Whats not working:
Controling volume on appleTV2 through the iphone remote app for video playbacks like netflix, and youtube.
Why I want this: RIght now I can control most of the multimedia right from my iphone including cranking the music up:) But when I switch over to video(Netlfix, Youtube) I have to get out another remote (stereo reciever) to control the volume. It seems we are so close to being able to control everything off the iphone, the only thing missing is volume control for video playback.
Is there a setting that can be changed or a solution I havent found?
    Thanks

Same problem with TV3. HDMI volume output is not adjustable, neither with the original Apple remote nor with any universal. Why ? Every simple settop-box is able to be volume adjusted. And a Mac Mini too ?!!!
I use a flatscreen TV. it has 3 HDMI inputs and one optical out for the audio going to an amp standing behind it. The sound of the TV is switched to go to the optical out.
HDMI 1 is connected to the satellite settop box with its  own remote control ( channel +/-, volume +/- etc. ) it work s fine.
HDMI 2 is connected to the MacMini HDMI out with its own remote control ( channel/music +/-, volume +/- ) it works fine too.
HDMI 3 was connected to Apple TV3 with its own remote control ( channel/music +/- but no volume ). I sent the TV3 back to Apple.
What's going wrong in the mind of Apple ? Why is the HDMI volume output of the MacMini adjustable with the Apple remote, and the TV3 not ?
I want not to discuss, wether a 4th remote control is useful or not. I don't want it. I want to adjust the volume with the originl remote control of the specific unit I use, because I need it anyway. It worked since years, but not with Apple TV3.
How can we help Apple to open the volume +/- function on their own remote control ?
